please interact and write more about my chapters than when i update :)

Maybe boarding school wasn't as bad as Amelia thought it would be.

It was just like public school in a way.  Just being away from your parents and not with boys twenty-four seven.  It made her grow up quicker than most eight year old kids which had its good points and bad points.  The bad was that she didn't have that family balance but the good was that she was getting the best education.

She supposed she had always known she would go to boarding school.  Her brothers had gone to boarding school so it only made sense that she go as well.

"All right class.  I am going to give you your homework back from yesterday and that way you'll have your grade from it," professor Robinson told her English class.

As she was passing out the homework to her students, Amelia got hers and she saw a B on her homework.  She let out a sigh of relief at the grade she received.

English was an easy class for Amelia as she always loved to read.  There wasn't a time when she didn't have a book in her hands and it definitely helped for her homework.

Jenny got hers back and it was a C-.  It wasn't a D but being part Chinese, she knew her parents expected better of her.  Her dad was British and her mum was from China.  She was told her parents met one year because her mum visited the UK and met her dad and the rest was history. She didn't want her parents to see this grade as she already knew what kind of things (especially her mum) would say to her.  This was the not the grade she was expecting to get in English.  Or any of her classes really.

Amelia gave Jenny a small smile as she looked up at her.

"If you want I can help you," Amelia told her quietly.

"Really?" Jenny asked as she looked at her, a little unsure.

"Yeah," Amelia agreed.

"Okay, thanks," Jenny grinned.

Amelia had ended up making friends with her roommates as well as others who weren't her roommates.  She had a hard time adjusting at first, having to share a room.  But since she was younger, it gave her room to grow into and she found that it was really nice.

On the weekends, the girls were allowed to go to different shops if they had money from their parents and buy things.

Obviously there were mean girls but she had no problem standing up to bullies.  But what her friends didn't realize was that she was having her own mean girl too.

Destiny Holmes and her two friends.

They thought it was annoying that she was friends with the Prince.  She tried to ignore them but it was harder to stand up for herself.

Amelia could see that some girls were making fun of Jenny and that Jenny didn't like it as she tried to tell them to leave her alone.  As Amelia got closer to her she saw three girls pull their eyes at the end and made them look like Jenny's small almond shaped eyes as they talked in a language that she supposed was suppose to be similar to Chinese.

"Hey!" Amelia caught their attention and they looked up with their eyes still squinted.  "Why don't you all leave her alone?"

"Or what?" One of them threatened.

"Or I'll go to the Headmaster and you'll have a permanent record and be suspended from school," she told them with a slight smirk as she saw their eyes turning into a slight fear.  Because they knew that their parents would make a call to the school and ground them.

After that they ran away and Jenny let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks," Jenny told her gratefully as she sat on a bench in the courtyard.  "They wouldn't leave me alone."

"S'alright.  How long have they making fun of you?"

"Not long," Jenny answered her quietly.  "Maybe a week or two?"

"Well they shouldn't be bothering you anymore," Amelia told her.

"Want to get lunch?" Jenny asked.

"Yeah," Amelia agreed with a small smile.  "Let's go."

*

It had been a half term since they had begun school and their first term break was fastly approaching them.  Amelia liked school but she was ready to go home.

"Amelia!" William called out to his friend and waved her over after she scored a goal for football. Amelia loved trying all the sports but she was particularly good at football so far.

"Hi Wills!" She greets him and gives him a hug. "How're you?"

"Okay," he shrugs his shoulders with a shy smile on his face.  "You?"

"Same.  Is your break coming up soon?"

"Yeah," he says with more excitement.  "That was a good goal you did there."

"Oh thanks," she takes the compliment.

"I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out whilst were on our half break?"

"Yeah," she nods her head.  "That would be fun!  D'you live in London?"

"Yeah," he tells her a little embarrassed to say where he actually lives.  He liked being away from his normal life.  Where he could be himself and just be a kid.  Where he got in trouble if he got a bad grade on a homework assignment or if he goofed around with his friends instead of focusing on what the professor said.

This was like heaven on earth for a kid like him.

"Where d'you live?" He asked her.

"Sutton," she took her hair out of her messy pony tail and let it fall down on her shoulders as she put it back up.

"I've never been there before," he told her with interest what her town was like.  "D'you like it?"

"Yeah, it's nice.  Honestly, I didn't want to go to boarding school like my brothers did.  I wanted to stay home and go to school there."

"You have brothers?" His eyebrows raised in curiosity.  He liked when they got to meet with the girls, which was rare.  But he sometimes liked it better than his friends in his school if he were being honest.  And she liked it too - less drama.  She already decided she didn't like mean girls.  She couldn't relate to them and that's why she would never be friends with them.

"Yep, two.  I'm the youngest.  What about you?" She asked taking a sip from her water bottle and finding a spot on the grass next to him.

"I have one.  I'm the oldest," he grinned and she let out a laugh.  "His name is Harry."

"Nice," Amelia nodded her head.  "My youngest brother is Greg and my oldest brother is named Mason.  D'you get along with your brother?"

"For the most part," William made a face.  "We fight a lot too.  You know.  You?"

"Yeah, for the most part," she countered his words which made him laugh.  "What sports d'you like playing?"

"I like football and rugby," he told her.  "How's your homework going?"

"Good," she nods her head.

"You don't get any bad grades?" He asked her with furrowed eyebrows.

"No, I'm smart," she grinned at him and shoved him playfully.  "Do you need any help with certain classes?" She asked him as she nibbled on her bottom lip.

"English and Maths," he admitted in defeat.  He didn't like admitting he wasn't getting the material but for some reason he felt like he could talk to her easily.

"I can help you if you want," she says a little uncertain.

"Really?" He perks up a bit.

"Yeah," she nods her head with a soft smile on her face.  "I'm helping one of my other friends too in English.  We could be study buddies."

"It wouldn't be too much?" He asked not wanting to intrude.

"Nah," she tells him.  "It would be okay since I'm already helping my friend.  Want to meet in the courtyard at our place?" She asks.  "We could work on our homework there."

"Okay that sounds good," he gave her a grateful smile.  "Thanks."

"No problem," she gets up and gives him her hand to help him as well.

They were officially on half term break and back at their homes.  William, bored because his parents had to do engagements that day was missing his friends he has made at school.  Sure he had his brother as well, but he really wanted to hang out with his friends.

"Can I please see my friend Amelia?" William asked his parents who give each other a glance.

They had always had problems in their marriage but especially lately.  She had been giving him the cold shoulder and would barely mutter two words to him when she recently overheard him talking to his lover, who she knew was Camilla.  The one she called a rottweiler.

"Whose Amelia darling?" Diana asked her son as she ran her thin, long fingers through his blonde hair.

"My friend at school," he grinned at his parents.  "Well she technically goes to the school for girls but we have free period together and she's helping me with my homework."

"Oh well she sounds very nice," Diana spoke gently with a soft smile, just grateful her son was making friends.  It always worried her that her children wouldn't make friends given their titles.  "Doesn't she, Charles?"

"Hmm?" Charles looked up from the newspaper column he was currently reading.  "Oh yes.  What about her?"

"I want to hang out with her," William said again.

"I don't think so, William, not today," Charles shook his head and looked down again.

"But why not?  Its the weekend.  You don't have work today!"

"How about I'll call her parents and I'll take you?" Diana tells her son who didn't ever like to see him upset and he perked up.

"Really?" He asked with a big smile on his face.

"Of course," Diana placed a sweet kiss to his forehead.  "D'you have her parents phone number?"

"No," his shoulders slumped.  "But I remember her dad owns a bakery in Sutton."

"Oh perfect.  What's the name of it?  I'll just call there then."

"Thomas' Bakery," he tells her.

"I'll be right back," she tells them.

"Diana wait-" Charles calls out to her but she's long gone.  "Okay, I s'pose if her parents are okay with you two getting together today, you can go."

"Really?  Thanks Pa!"

"Your welcome my boy," Charles gives in and a few minutes later Diana returns with a smile on her face.

The first real smile she's had in a week.

"You ready to go to Sutton?"

*

"Hi Amelia!" William waves at his friend as soon as they enter the sweet shop.

"Hi Wills!" Amelia got up from behind the counter and hugged him.

Whilst the two friends caught up the parents introduced themselves.  Diana had asked them beforehand to please not curtsy to her.  Their daughter afterall was friends with her son and it would have been awkward to her had they curtsied and used her formal titles.  So to them, she was just Diana.

"I was thinking of taking them to a nearby park I had seen.  Would that be okay?" Diana asked wanting to get the parents permission.  She knew that they still had to work and didn't want to do anything that would make them uncomfortable.

She had also told them on the mobile that she needed to talk to them in person what it would mean for their daughter to be friends with their son.  Not to worry them but to give them a full understanding.  They didn't want them to one day be surprised if they saw their daughter in the tabloids front page and to never have the children speak again.  That wouldn't be fair.

"Of course," Sara and Thomas both agreed.

"D'you mind if I come with?" Sara asked, hoping that they could also have their talk then.

"Please," Diana gave her a smile.

"Before you lot leave I have some free chocolates for everyone, if its all right with you Diana," Thomas says as he has some baggies full of treats for the kids.

"Of course.  Thank you Thomas," Diana took it graciously.

"Anytime," he gave her a smile.  "I'm just glad our daughter has made friends."

"Me too," Diana gave a grateful smile.  "She seems very special."

"That she is," Sara says.  "We'll see you later," she gives her husband a quick kiss on the lips before she tells him she loves him.

Diana feeling a bit awkward for a second as she doesn't have that kind of relationship with her own husband.  Why did things have to be this way?

*

"You and your husband seem very much in love," Diana comments to Sara as they settle on a park bench that's close enough to watch their kids.

"We are," Sara nodded her head.  "But it hasn't always been easy.  We've had problems here and there."

"How d'you work through them?" Diana asked.

"What?  Marriage problems?"

"What if your husband has done something to break that trust?" Diana asked trying to confide in someone who was outside of her usual circle of friends.

"Well, it would have to depend on what he did to break that trust in the first place," Sara said cautiously, surprised by the question.  "Y'know how they say chocolates and flowers solve all the problem?  Well it doesn't.  Marriage is a lot of hard work and if the two people are willing - they'll find a way."

"No that makes perfect sense," Diana let out an awkward laugh.  "Sorry for asking you such a private question after having just met you."

"You don't have to apologise for anything to me," Sara took her hand gently.  "I don't know what its like to be in your shoes but if you ever need to talk - I'm willing to listen.  I'm sure it can't be easy but you can trust me."

"I - uh," Diana cleared the lump in her throat.  "Thank you.  Really."

"Woohoo!  Wills that was amazing - you scored!" Amelia cheered as she high fived him and they both let out a laugh as they watched their children interact.

Thank you so much to @britishroyalfan & @Footballboysarehot for the idea of going on half term and having William and Amelia meet up.  I think this chapter is loooong overdue and I'm so sorry for that!

For some reason I have been having a hard time thinking of what to write for the chapters in the first part.  At least for the first 5 chapters.  But I hope you guys liked this one and now you get to see what kind of person Amelia is and I hope you all love her as much as I do!

Please interact with my chapters as it helps give me motivation to write instead of just asking me to update!  Like and comment :).  I am going on vacation tomorrow for a week but while I'm gone - I am hopefully out of the funk of writers block.

Enjoy!
