Verzi

6 years later

The laughter of children is said to be one of the most beautiful sounds but when you're the one they're laughing at it's not so fun.

"We have to go now I miei figli (my children) otherwise we'll be late."

"But daddy is still by the lake."

"Yeah he's going to make you late mummy."

"Hey what happened to us guys sticking together?"

"Oh is that what you're teaching our children?"

"Ohh daddy is in trouble."

"Get him mummy."

Kiandre gets up and kisses Layton.

"Come on now kids, you don't want uncle Jamie and uncle Rick to wait too long at the airport. Last one in the car doesn't get dessert."

The two little boys start running with all their might.

"That's not fair I'm pregnant."

"You snooze you lose sweetheart." Kiandre joins the boys in running but comes back and walks his heavily pregnant wife to the car.

Layton's final words

The past 6 years has being a roller-coaster but I wouldn't change a thing about it. There's a lot I need to catch you readers up on so buckle up and brace yourselves.

By the above mention of Rick I'm guessing that's what I should start with. He has been in remission for the past 4 years- meaning most of the signs and symptoms of his cancer have disappeared.

Staying true to his word, he supported my relationship to Kiandre and is the godfather of my twins.

Twins? Yes, after a year of dating Kiandre and I had gotten married, we really did want to start our happily ever after as soon as possible. It was a quiet, simple and elegant ceremony just with our friends and family.

The honeymoon phase of our relationship was great and within a few months we got another surprise, I was pregnant with twins!

That's when we had a decision to make- we didn't want to raise our boys in the hustle and bustle of the city, we wanted them to have the best childhood possible. Remember how Kiandre wanted to move to Verzi and live out the rest of his days? Well we did exactly that.

It was hard to say goodbye but this was our adventure and we knew our families supported us so this made things a lot easier.

I knew my father was in good hands- he and Akemi had eloped a few months after Kiandre and I tied the knot and I've never seen him so happy before, love really does bring out a different side to you.

When Dario and Luca were born, things were a bit tough. Between work and raising kids parents really do become master jugglers. Kiandre had opened up his own mechanic shop and once the twins started walking all they wanted to do was go to work with their daddy- it was adorable.

As for me, I took a job with a non-profitable government founded firm that fights on behalf of the wrongfully accused. I really did feel fulfilled in life.

Jamie eventually did move with Rick to Russia, even though his treatment had come to an end, the two decided to stay- it was their home now. They would come here to visit throughout the years, they really did love their nephews.

Cassidy had proposed to Tessa and the two had a beachside wedding a few months ago- I've never cried so much in my life. Well it's because of the hormones, I'm pregnant with our third child and this time it's a girl.

Kiandre has already gone into daddy protective mode -'no boy will come near my daughter' he even roped Dario and Luca in on his schemes.

Having two big brothers, a protective father and a bunch of uncles- I really do feel for my little girl.

So this has been my journey and our story. After all these years my love for Kiandre still burns as bright as before and I hope each and every single one of you get to experience a love like no other and that your'lls stories do have a happily ever after.

Always keep hoping For Something Better.

The end

*Starts playing Post Malone's song - Goodbyes*

Well we have come to the conclusion of this tale. I always wanted Kiandre and Layton to be endgame but that almost didn't happen (Rick, Rick, Rick) - but the point of the story was to emphasize on the bond of soulmates, so I did what I had to do.

Thank you so much for giving my story a chance, this means the world to me and I love each and every single one of you❤️. I hope you loved reading it as much as I loved writing this chronicle.

Onward and upward, till next time.

Jesse
