Chapter Thirty-Four~Lights Out
I stared at the home crystal in my palms, a shiny blue that sparkled even more in the rain, which thankfully seemed to be letting up. Slightly.
I couldn't stop thinking of Tam. I wanted him. I needed him. So why do I keep pushing him away? I keep him at a distance, even though I've always wanted to be near him. Maybe I should consider turning back around and facing my demons.
Suddenly there was a sickly sweet cloth over my mouth. I tried to scream. But I couldn't... I had to... Tam... He...
Then the lights when out.
****
I woke up in a dimly lit room, my hands and feet strapped to a chair. Gag over my glossed lips, all the pink sparkles washed by the rain and stained into the rough cloth of the gag. I took in my surroundings There were three people near me. The first thing I noticed was sliver bangs. He was close enough to me that I could recognize him almost immediately.
"Tam," I hissed through the cloth, but he didn't seem to hear me, "Tam," I tried again.
No response. He was unconscious, just like the other two people in the room. It seemed like a girl and a boy, both with bright blonde hair. One long, one short.
But it was too dark to make out anything more than that. I noticed the blood stains on the floor underneath the blondies. I gasped.
"Tam! Wake up!" I cried as loudly as I could through the gag. His eyes shot open. I heard him mutter something through his gag, and his eyes grew wide when he noticed me. I gestured to the other two people near us with my head. It was hard to make out, but I'm pretty sure he said who are they.
I shrugged as best as I could. Suddenly, the door flew open. I shut my eyes and immediately began to pretend I was still knocked cold. Maybe then whoever had captured us would leave us alone.
They didn't.
"Finally, we've captured the beloved Moonlark once again, and even Lodestar? Kill two birds with one stone is what I've always said," The woman laughed. I inhaled sharply. Keefe and Sophie? Those were the blonde teens next to Tam and I?
"And, as if things couldn't get better, we have Mr. Shadowvaper and one of his only weaknesses, Biana Vacker."
Seriously, I don't get a nickname?
The woman laughed again, and lit the room in a flickering light bulb hanging from the ceiling, allowing me to see Sophie and Keefe. She cackled and slowly, pulled back her hood.
I gasped.
Gisela.
