Chapter Five~Little Linh

Biana~

I was so stupid. All you were asking was if I was okay. You were only being kind. As you always are. I'm sorry. Truth is, I wasn't just saying that because I have to go to Exillium. I... There's something I have to tell you Biana. Something I've been meaning to tell you for a long time.

I-

Never mind, it's stupid. You deserve better. You always have.

I hope your life is sweeter without me around. Just... Be happy for me, okay? I promise I'll see you again one day. Even if it takes ten years.

~Tam

I crumpled up the letter and threw it against my wall, bringing me little satisfaction. I pounded my head on my desk. An overwhelming feeling of anger coursing through me. But most of all, pain. I didn't want to lose her. Or Linh. I had friends here. Family here. This was my home. And they were taking me from it.

Suddenly there was a soft knock on the door. There was only one person in the world who knocked that softly.

Linh.

"Come in," I said so quietly, I wasn't sure if she would even hear me. I heard the soft creak of my door opening, but I didn't turn around to look at her.

"Hey Tammy," I could tell from her voice she must have been crying. Or was about to.

"Hey, Little Linh," I whispered, feeling her cold hands wrap around my back. But I didn't dare turn to look at her face. If I did there would be nothing stopping me from breaking down in sobs.

"It's been forever since you called me that," She said softly, referencing the old nickname, "I missed it."

"I did too." I was older than Linh by a couple minutes, and when I was younger, that's all I talked about. I even gave Linh an annyoing nickname of Little Linh, to remind her that I was older than her. But after some time Linh had grown to love it.

It had been forever since I called her that. I'd miss it too.

"What that?" She asked, gesturing to the crumpled up paper near my wall.

"That's nothing," I sighed, feeling defeated, "Why do I even try Linh? I've ruined everything. Like I always do," I buried my head in my hands. Somehow Linh knew exactly what I was talking about.

"I know you didn't mean it, Tammy. And I know she'll forgive you," Linh reassured me.

"But you don't know that, Linh. You don't know that at all," I said lowly. Linh rubbed slow circles around my back, a gesture that used to calm me when I was younger. Back when the only thing I would be stressed out about was losing my toy or something.

"Everything's gonna be okay, Tammy. I promise."

Little did he know that the somehow the crumpled letter showed up on Biana's desk that night.

Oooooo bet you guys are wondering how that happened, huh? I guess we'll seeeeee 💗
