Everly was woken up from her deep sleep by something poking her side. After letting out an irritated groan, she rolled over onto her other side in an attempt to get away from whatever was bothering her. Unfortunately for the Jones girl, she started getting poked in the cheek instead. A small sigh passed over her lips as she slowly opened her eyes to find Sam smiling down at her. Everly just stared at him for a long moment before her eyes landed on the clock behind him.
The Purest Heart couldn't help but groan when she saw how early it was before she pulled her blanket over her head. "Go away, Sam. It's too early for this."
"But it's our anniversary," the blonde boy announced after yanking the blanket off of her.
Even though she desperately wanted to go back to sleep, Everly couldn't help but smile. It had been thirteen years since she rescued Sam from Pan and his Lost Boys. They always celebrated by watching the sunrise and sunset together. It was their favorite time of day and they enjoyed watching it in comfortable silence. Not even a moment after that passed when Everly realized that there was another anniversary that day. One that she wished didn't fall on the same day. The Jones girl knew that she needed to focus all of her attention on Sam. Hopefully, the two of them spending time together will keep her mind off the other anniversary.
So instead of dwelling on her negative emotions, Everly forced a smile on her face as she rolled out of bed. After pulling a jacket on, she followed Sam out onto the fire escape. The two of them sat in silence as they waited another five minutes for the sun to peak out from behind the mountains.
"It's beautiful," Sam whispered just loud enough for Everly to hear.
"Always is," the Jones girl responded while keeping her eyes glued to the rising sun. It wasn't long after that when she glanced over at Sam, only to find him staring back at her with a frown on his face. "What's wrong?"
Sam hesitated for a second as he studied every inch of Everly's face. It wasn't long after that when he let out a long sigh and opened his mouth to speak. "There's another anniversary today. One far more important than this one so don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. Are you okay, Ev?"
The blonde girl just stared at him in shock. She honestly thought he had forgotten. But even if he didn't, she never thought he'd bring it up this early. After swallowing the lump in her throat, the Purest Heart allowed herself to respond. "No."
Everly couldn't believe it had been two years since Felix was taken from her. It felt like it was only yesterday.
An eternity passed before Everly and Sam climbed back through the window to find Katherine sitting on her bed with a small smile on her face. The two girls exchanged a quick hug then the three of them got ready for the day. The Purest Heart was surprised to find Jackson and Jacob waiting for them at the diner for breakfast, but she wasn't complaining. She was actually enjoying the amount of company she had, especially because it kept her mind off what day it was.
"Is there anything special you want to do today?" Jackson asked, drawing Everly's attention away from her food for the first time since it arrived.
The Purest Heart just stared at him as a million thoughts continued to bounce around in her head. That continued for another moment before Everly finally responded. "I'm probably going to pack a picnic then head to the cemetery. I know it doesn't sound like a fun way to spend the day but you're welcome to join me."
"Of course we'll come with you," Jacob told her with a small smile on his face.
"We aren't leaving your side today," Katherine added.

A week had passed since Everly rescued Sam from Pan and his Lost Boys. The two of them had grown closer than either of them imagined. A sibling bond was slowly forming between them and they knew they were going to protect each other with their lives. While Everly filled the void within Sam that came with him when he arrived on Neverland, Sam was starting to mend the parts of Everly that were broken after Baelfire left. If Everly was being honest, she was a little scared of how close she and Sam had become. She didn't think she was prepared if he decided to leave her behind like Baelfire had. Everly knew she couldn't go through all of those emotions again. She never wanted to be alone again.
Silence surrounded the two blondes as they sat around the cove. Both of them were enjoying the nice weather that graced Neverland for once. But their peace soon ended when a loud squawking cut through the air. Everly and Sam instantly turned their attention toward the sound to find one of Tinker Bell's messenger birds sitting on a rock nearby. The duo exchanged a quick look before Everly took the letter from the bird. Not even a second after that passed when it flew away. The Jones girl watched the bird until it was out of sight before her attention fell on the letter. After a short moment of hesitation, the former Lost girl opened the letter and began reading it.
The Shadow brought a young boy named Adam to Neverland. He is terrified of Pan and the Lost Boys and is unwilling to turn. He needs to be rescued before something terrible happens to him.
Tink
Everly reread the letter right as Sam walked over to look at it over her shoulder. It wasn't long after that when the two of them looked at each other with the same thought in their heads. However, they both had different feelings about what was about to happen. While Sam had a giant smirk on his face, Everly had to force a smile. She knew they had to try to save this boy, that wasn't an option, but she knew it was going to be tricky. After making a quick plan with Sam, the two of them grabbed their gear and began heading toward Pan's camp.
Once they reached the outskirts of the Lost Boys' Camp, Everly and Sam climbed up one of the trees so they could get a better look at what they were dealing with. It was obvious which boy Adam was. They both spotted him right away. If his terrified face wasn't the biggest clue, it was his hands tied up in front of him. But what through Everly off was that he was being guarded by one of Pan's smallest boys. Once they got all the information they needed, the two blondes climbed back down the tree and raced back to the cove to think of a plan to get him out of there without Pan knowing.

After finishing their breakfast, the group of teens order some more food from Granny, who gave it to them free of charge. They quickly took their food upstairs to pack it in a picnic basket then made their way out of the building. Silence surrounded the small group as they walked through Storybrooke toward their next destination. It wasn't long before they arrived at the florist to pick up a bouquet of sunflowers, which had always been Felix's favorite.
When they finally arrived at the cemetery, the group of teens headed over to where Felix lay. They set up their picnic near his headstone and begin to eat. While everyone did their best to joke around and laugh, something that the Thorne boy would've enjoyed, all Everly could do was stare at the stone in front of her. With her eyes glued to the blood-chilling object, all the Purest Heart could think about was the last moments she shared with the Lost Boy before Pan took him away from her.
"Everly," Sam called out, drawing Everly's attention to him, only to find everyone on their feet and staring down at her, "we're going to give you a little time alone. We'll meet you at the gate."
All the Jones girl could do was nod in response before watching them walk away. As soon as they were out of sight, Everly's attention fell back on Felix's headstone. She blinked a few times in an attempt to force away her tears as her eyes read over his name. Even after two years, she still couldn't believe he was gone. Everly could still hear his voice in her head and his laughter in her ears. She could still see his smile. She still remembered how he looked right before Pan crushed his heart into dust. She could never forget his last attempt to get words out of his mouth before the life faded from his eyes.
It wasn't long before Everly stopped fighting the tears in her eyes and let them flow down her cheeks. A shakey breath passed over her lips as she got to her feet and placed her hand carefully on top of Felix's headstone. "I love you. Always and forever."

"Pan has him watched all day and night," Sam said when he and Everly made it back to the cove after spying on Pan's camp, "how are we supposed to save him?"
The Jones girl was silent for a moment, knowing that he was right. Adam was practically surrounded by Lost Boys, which meant they didn't have a clear shot at saving him. Another second passed when Everly figured everything out and felt silly for not thinking of it sooner. "We can go when they play their daily game. Pan makes them all play so no one will be in camp."
"Are you crazy?!" the blonde boy shouted, making Everly jump at his sudden outburst before the former continued speaking, "the forest would be crawling with Lost Boys! That's when we stay in the cove!"
The former Lost Girl couldn't help but smirk in response. Thanks to the time she spent with Pan, she had all the information they needed to succeed. "Not if we time it perfectly."
"I hate when you get that look."
"What look?"
Sam let out an irritated sigh before pointing right at the center of her face. "That one. The last time you had that look we almost got killed."
"Do you trust me?"
"I'm offended that you have to ask."
"Then ignore the look."

Hours passed before Everly finally left the cemetery and headed back to meet up with her friends. When she arrived at the front gate, she was greeted by small smiles from all of them before they began walking back to the diner. Before anyone had a chance to break the silence surrounding them, Everly's phone rang.
"Evie, where are you?" Killian greeted with panic in his voice, causing Everly to stop in her tracks, which made her friends send her confused looks.
"I'm with Sam, Katherine, Jackson, and Jacob. We're heading back to Granny's," the Jones girl explained as an uncertain feeling washed over her, "is everything okay?"
"No. Not one bit. Meet me in front of Granny's as soon as possible."
