"You can switch partners with me, if you are uncomfortable."

On the way to school the next day, Shoto and Tomomi talked like usual. As they made their way to the entrance gates, he couldn't help but feel a bit worried about this project. The objective was to diminish new year pressure and build bonds but with someone like Bakugou Katsuki, could that really be achieved?

On top of that, he was extremely protective of his twin sister. Even though she was capable of taking care of herself and he would let her, he was still her brother first. Her older brother by 2 minutes. And the thought of her and a boy together, it didn't sit right with him.

But he didn't want to hover and he could see Tomomi is still learning a bit about how to socialize with others around her age. She couldn't always stay by his side. Tomomi was independent and Shoto couldn't help but admire that about her.

Tomomi moves a strand of red hair out of her eyes before answering. "Someone is worried." She joked lightly, flashing him a small and playful grin. To which, Shoto scoffed a bit. Giving her a soft nudge on her shoulder.

"I'm just being a brother, is all."

"And I appreciate it." Tomomi replied back, truly meaning it. She was grateful for Shoto.

"TODOROKI!" some yelled out as the twins made it to class. The two simultaneously turned their heads to the source, not sure of who they were taking to.

"There are two of us." Shoto reminded, crossing his arms. "To whom are you talking to?"

( I feel like that's going to be a thing in this book. Especially since they are twins. )

It was Kirishima, who happened to be Shoto's partner in the project. "To my partner, of course!" The happy red head said, walking I'm over to them. "Hey, Tomo-chan ~!"

"Good morning, Kirishima." She formally greeted with a small smile.

Kirishima chuckled. This girl was so polite and formal, it was actually very cute. Which is surprising because he wondered how was she going to deal with Bakugou's constant brash behavior. Especially to her.
He remembered his ranting yesterday during lunch. What an interesting moment.

"I can't believe I was paired with that damn frost bite!" Bakugou grumbled, clearly not liking the arrangements. He had been mumbling about her the entire start of lunch and honestly, Kirishima lost count with how many times he has called her any insult that has anything to do with ice.

From 'Popsicle', 'Block of ice, to his personal favorite "Frost Bite".

"She's only going to slow me down," he said, crossing his arms and glaring at nothing. "I should've just switched partners with that stupid wannabe pikachu."

"You don't even know her yet, Bakubro." Kirishima chuckled out, leaning against the locker next to his. "I don't think this could hurt you. Maybe someone like her would be good in your life. . . . . Maybe you could learn how to chill."

"I AM AS COOL AS ICE, SHARK TEETH!! AND I DON'T NEED TO KNOW HER IF SHE'S MY ENEMY!!" Bakugou yelled angrily at him.

"Jeez, calm down." Kirishima waves his hands at him. "I'm just saying, she's a nice girl. . . . . her demeanor betrays her kindness, yes, but she seems serious about knowing you. Even if it's for a grade."

Bakugou didn't want to admit it but he was right. He has never met someone who could rebuttal his words back with a quickness and then turn around and be nice to him. It was very weird. But he would be lying if he said he wasn't curious at all.

"Grrr, I still don't like it."

"You don't have to be friends, just do it for an A." He offered his advice. "Besides, I know you won't lose to Midoriya.....who's already made progress with his partner."

"What!?" Bakugou gasped, looking at him with bugged out eyes. "There is no way that damn Deku is already making progress!"

Kirishima smirked mischievously. The only way to get him to do anything was to provoke his competitive attitude and who's the best candidate for that? Midoriya.

"Oh suuure! Him and his partner is getting on very well." He presses on, leaning over his shoulder. "I heard he's already written his essay."

"I WILL NOT LOSE TO THAT STUPID LOSER!!'" as expected, Bakugou exploded with fury while Kirishima laughed a little to himself. His plan worked. It always did.

Kirishima might have lied and potentially got Midoriya yelled at or beat up but at least Bakugou took his advice......sort of.

"Just thought I'd make myself more acquainted, partner." He said, patting Shoto's back rather hard, making him fall forward slightly. "Since we're supposed to be stuck together, why not?"

"You are my brothers partner?" Tomomi asked curiously, looking at the two.

Shoto looked slightly annoyed at him for that hard back slap. Which the red head didn't pay any mind. "Unfortunately, yes." Shoto replied, shooting him a mini glare.

"Aww, come on, Todoroki, I ain't that bad."

"Prove me wrong, then." Shoto shot back mildly cold. Kirishima could definitely tell Tomomi was the nicer twin out of the two.

"Hey, Frost Bite!"

The three turned to see Bakugou with his permanent frown in his face enter the classroom with his arms crossed. He walked over to her. "Look, just because you and I are stuck together, doesn't mean we'll be friends after this. But I don't want to lose to no one so meet me in the hall during lunch."

"I would appreciate it if you didn't refer to my sister as frost bite." Shoto spoke up, slightly frowning. This was what he was worried about. "She has a name. Learn how to use it."

"What did you say, icy hot?" Bakugou asked, threateningly.

"Come on, you two. We're all friends here," Kirishima tried to calm everyone down. "Let's not fight on the third day of school."

"Shoto, I'm alright." Tomomi reassured, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Shoto looked at his sister with softened eyes before looking back at the ash blonde and his eyes hardened again. "Watch yourself, Bakugou." was all he said before walking to his seat.

Bakugou scoffed, disappointed that he didn't get to fight him. "You better watch your back, half and half bastard." And then he walked over to his seat, leaving Kirishima and Tomomi standing there.

Kirishima sighed audibly. He should have known this plan might backfire. Bakugou couldn't stop himself from being a jerk for even 3 seconds and Shoto seemed like the type to never back down.

"My apologies, Kirishima." Tomomi apologized kindly. Which caught him off guard.

"Huh? Whatcha sorry for?"

"That you had to see my brother that way." She answered. "He often times do not remember that I am capable of taking care of myself. His protective instincts tend to run away with him."

"Oh yeah....you don't need to apologize, Tomo-chan~, brothers are like that." He reassured, patting her on the back.

"Tomo-chan~!" The two heard Uraraka's voice call her. She looked to see said girl waving her down towards Momo's seat.

With one last nod, Tomomi smiled at him. "Have a good morning, Kirishima."

"You can just call me Kiri-chan!" He yelled after her as she moved past him. As soon as she met up with the girls, he sighed. Already regretting his plan.

She is way too kind for a guy like him.
