"I'll take wildlife assistance, Mr H," Jackson shrugged, "I'm pretty handy with a knife, in a kitchen, at least. The skills might be transferable, as long as nothing attacks me."

Clementine chortled. "Fat chance," she muttered.

Mr Hackett clicked his pen, scribbling on the paper.

"I can help Jackson in the kitchen, Mr H," Conrad added.

"Me too," Astrid chimed in, "could be fun."

"That's not an excuse to get free food, Azy," Aidan warned, playfully nudging his sister with his elbow.

"Ha, ha," she rolled her eyes, "I'm being serious."

"I trust you, Astrid," Mr Hackett commented, writing again onto the note. "Cel? Wanna take on arts assistant as well?"

Celeste nodded. "Yeah. Sure, I'll bite."

"Excellent," Mr Hackett finished the list. "I appreciate you guys stepping up like this. It might be a bit hectic, juggling these things, but I have no doubt you'll all handle it. Okay," he checked the watch on his wrist, "we have about two hours until the kids get here. Clementine, take Jackson through the trails, make sure they're all cleared. The rest of you, cabin checks, and I want completed risk reports."

The group released a collective groan as he handed a clipboard each to Aidan and Cassie.

"Yeah, I know, boring," Mr Hackett sympathised, "but they have to be done. Cassie, lead the girls' cabins. Aidan, the boys'." He gestured towards the door. "Let's move out, Hacketteers."
