━ chap 4. first akuma issue !

Before she could even think of an response to answer with, the yo-yo holding them up began to slip off the ceiling and it sent them falling to the floor now, both shouting in alarm.

Ladybug's figure was flailing around in the air, as she prepared to hit the floor roughly, but didn't expect to feel warm hands catching her, and fall into someone's strong arms.

She yelps at the thump to her side, arms automatically wrapping around the person's defined shoulders, and just barely saw Cat Noir's still grinning face through her squinted eyes, the one who easily caught her.

His hand was respectfully placed on her middle back, and the other one was under her knees, just gazing her suited left thigh, as her head was close to resting on his shoulder.

Once Cat Noir knew she would be alright to stand up by herself, he gently placed her down against the floor, as he lingered behind her incase she fell back once her feet touched the floor.

Ladybug was slightly hunched over to place her hands on her knees, taking in deep breaths to calm herself from what just happened, and barely dodged her yo-yo falling back down in front of her.

Sensing eyes staring at her intently from behind her, and remembering who had saved her from slamming into the floor, she span around quickly to see Cat Noir, but was only faced with the scenery of the tower inside.

"What do you think you're doing?" His voice was heard from one of the corners in the church, as he was now hidden in the shadows to admire her figure silently, and made his tone a bit deeper to seem intimidating, "This is a dangerous place for a pretty lady like yourself."

She scoffed a little offended at his accusing, and rubbed the back of her sore head as she looks around to try locate him, "Excuse me, I'm no damsel in distress." She fired back, ears slightly heating up at his end comment, and went to question curiously, "Who even are you?"

"Name's Cat Noir." He introduced from in the shadows still, his voice sounding from a different part of the roof now that had her turning to hear it better.

She bent down to scramble for her yo-yo without looking at it, and stood back up with it in her hand, while raised her eyebrows underneath her red mask, "Do I, ah, know you?"

"I'm the new hero in town. Here...." He trailed off in dramatic effect, once again changing positions to make his speech sound more intimidating for the young girl, "to save the world!"

She stifled an amused sort at his words, placing one of her suited palms up to her mouth, and smirked a bit smugly. The new suit really boosted her confidence for some reason, "Ha! Really? With what, 'furballs'?"

The sound of rushing footsteps was heard through her ears, followed by the sound of a bell jingling, and the male's figure coming up beside her closely suddenly, "What are you supposed to be?" He asked humorously, arms crossed over his suited chest, as he lent back a little, "A watermelon?"

Ladybug irked with an eye twitch, and raised a finger up to point at his slightly taller figure standing smugly next to her, sneering out in offence, "Excuse me? That's so rude-!"

"Yes, chéri!" He starts to walk off away from her for a second, arms outstretched in the air until they came down once he picked up his speed, "That'll do for a sidekick."

"What?!" She exclaimed incredulously at his words, and attitude already, that she knew would come to find annoying very quickly, "I'm here to save the world.." She raised her hand up again with the yo-yo attached on her finger, and it ended up reeling backwards to slam into her head, making her grunt in pain, "...too."

Cat noir chuckled lowly from his spot up on a statue above her, himself being perched on it like a cat, as he pressed his cheek into his palm to gaze at her closely, "Yeah, I can see that."

He hoped off the statue that rocked from his movement, and landed onto the tiled floor again, "Coming in here all loud and messy," He slammed his hand into an artefact on a display podium, causing her to rush up and catch it before it fell down, "giving away your every move." He now lent against a candle holder with his arms crossed, that fell down this down with a loud clatter.

She made a frustraighted noise at this, and gripped the sides of her hair in between her fingers to tug on it, as looked at the mess he created, "So much for the element of surprise!" She stifled out through gritted teeth.

"Ever heard of a decoy, princess?" He stated in a cocky way as he spreads his arms out to her, and walks backwards around a brick pillar, the bell on his suit ringing when he moved.

At the second pet name he had just called her, it caused the girl to grow embarrassed in the face, hating how easily this was effecting her when she literally just met the guy, "I don't understand what's happening. I shouldn't be here, this is all wrong."

"All you have to do is follow my lead..." Cat Noir was up in one of the higher platforms, as he runs his finger across the wood to collect the dust, and smirked amusingly down at her cooing, "sidekick!"

"I swear, I'm not a side-" Ladybug's loud words of correction were interrupted by a deep growl coming from outside, causing her to duck down a little in fear, and frantically glanced around to see where it was coming from.

"Shhh!" He came up beside her to hold up a finger to his lips, and clasped her forearms in his larger hand as he pulled her away from the window, whispering, "Stay still, and don't move."

There was a shadowy figure outside of the tinted windows that they didn't see, as the creature snarls lowly, followed by its wings expanding out into the air, and another low growl that echoed through the building.

Just as the creature made a noise behind them, the two superheros spin around quickly with gasps, and saw nothing there in the windows, as the shadows figure disappeared out of view.

Once they saw this Ladybug turned to a confident looking Cat Noir, and slips her arm out of his warm hand for a second, "Do you have a plan?" She also whispered her question, fearing for the worse now knowing something was out there.

"A plan? Do I have a plan?" He chuckles smoothly when he repeated her words, and placed his fists on his waist with a head nod, "I have more then a plan!"

Her face brightened up hearing his answer to her, as she gasped gently and placed her hands up to her chest, staring at the male awaiting for his ideas.

"I have..." He enthusiastically moves his fingers around in the air in front of his face, the bell jingling again when he moved around, "nine lives!"

That once happy relieved expression drops into a sour, and frowning one, as she groaned tiredly through a face palm to herself, "That's just ... so great."

Behind them slowly walking through the many rows of chairs inside the massive building, the akumatised person that was turned into a gargoyle snarled, and was preparing to attack when the moment was right.

"The devastating power of destruction!" Cat Noir was posed on another candle holder, trying to show off in front of Ladybug who watched him confused, not knowing how to react or what to say.

He jumped back down to where she was, and made his hands circle around his cat like eyes in binoculars, "Night vision!" He announced proudly before zooming beside her causally smirking, "Razor-sharp senses! Rar!" He does a cat scratch motion to her, and playfully growled, that caused her to sigh unamused.

Now appearing behind his figure that was slowly walking backward away from her, he stood in front of the gargoyle which he was aware of, "Nothing can sneak up on me!"

Ladybug tensed up spotting the gargoyle stopped behind him, as she shuddered nervously and raised a shaky finger to point at it, eyes going wider then usual.

"Not to mention my weapon," Cat Noir pulls out his baton attached to his belt, and motion to it proudly once more, "this all-in-one thingamajig!" He makes the weapon expand to its full height, as he flips it around in his hands, "Ready for takedown!" He swings the stick upwards, but it ended up getting stuck in the gargoyle's nose, making him grunt confused, "Hm?"

The gargoyle snarled in annoyance when he continued to push the baton up his nostril, and soon growled louder when Cat Noir stopped those movements.

Cat Noir only then noticed the villain's presence behind him, as his green eyes shifted upwards to peek at the creature, and chuckled with a head nod towards Ladybug, "Run!"

He sprinted of with his arms waving around the air, completely the opposite to what he told her, and she ducked out of the way when the gargoyle charged after Cat Noir.

It roars loudly as he was out of its grasp, now running to Cat Noir who was fleeing down the path through all the chairs, panicked breathes escaping him now, as he scattered on the slippery tiles.

The gargoyle was slamming into all the chairs, easily breaking them to get to Cat Noir, as he continued to flea away quickly, "Hey! Not on the first date!" He called back out to Ladybug, and yelped when the gargoyle almost snapped its jaws around him.

She laughed nervously through wide eyes watching this happen to him, wishing she would help him somehow but was to anxious to move, "Well, it looks like you guys have hit it off pretty well."

Cat Noir was jumping across the walls now inside the building, using his cat like abilities as he landed in a pose down where the giant pipe organ was, grunting reassuringly, "I've got this, sidekick!"

Just as the gargoyle flapped its wings to fly at him into the air, jaws opened up to snatch him up, Cat Noir ducked out of the way, causing the creature to slam straight into the pipes with a loud clatter.

He appears back up seeing this happen as he chuckled smugly, and jumps back around to where Ladybug would be standing. One arm crossed over his chest, and the other was behind his back, "And the winner is..." He raised his arms out wide, unaware of the gargoyle getting back up, as he vocalises, "Cat Noir!"

Just as he finished being dramatic, the gargoyle roared when it got back up, and slammed straight into Cat Noir's stomach with its snout, taking him down with a grunt.

They both land against the floor in a heap, as Cat Noir was now stuck on the creatures back, "Sidekick!" He shouts in alarm down to her, trying to stay on the gargoyle as it flaps in the air, "I hate to ask, but what are you doing back there?! Help me! It's my first time!"

Ladybug blinks rapidly hearing his sudden confession, having a feeling he was just trying to impress her from the very beginning, and yelled back incredulously, "WHAT?!"

Cat Noir continued to shout loudly in the air, as he was holding onto dear life around the gargoyle's neck, and she knew she had to try doing something now, seeing him trapped up on the creature.

Fumbling to grab a hold of her yo-yo through panicked breathing, she eventually caught the string of it as it suddenly chirped awake, and pulled her up into the air. She screamed startle as this happened, getting tugged to where Cat Noir was, and shirked when the gargoyle slammed out of the window, glass shattering everywhere from it.

The gargoyle lets out a deep roar when it landed against the road outside, as Cat Noir groaned in pain to the hit at his head, feeling dizzy as his mind was spinning. From up above in the air still, Ladybug flips over them to land on the road also safely, causing the group crowed around to gasp seeing the scene.

"Is that a watermelon?" One of the male tourist questioned curiously, as he got out his phone to take photos and was standing beside Alya, and Marinette, who were both watching as well.

"Told you, princess!" Cat Noir perks up at the comment made about his new partner, grinning like a dork at her huffing form, and gulped when the gargoyle shot up into the air again.

Ladybug's head was tilted upwards to see this happening, unaware of how the string on her yo-yo that was attached to her finger, was also around the gargoyle, and was pulling the string up also. Just before she got tugged up by the force, she sent a nervous laugh to the group in front, not noticing her twin or friend yet.

The two newly superhero's were now getting flown through the air, around the building they were just in together, "For a so-called cat, you don't seem to land on your feet!" Ladybug called out while she dangled behind the gargoyle, both hands holding onto her yo-yo's rope tightly.

They crashed straight through the church building's, creating rubble that fell down from the hits, and the bells began to ring also. Ladybug shouted in panic as she was pulled through it, and multiple times slammed into them in uncomfortable positions, making the bells chime in sync.

"That's music to my ears!" Cat noir yelled back to her with a wide grin that showed his canines, his head turned over his shoulder as he held onto gargoyle's stone neck.

She just screamed in answer to his words as she was roughly tugged back along through the air, now holding on with one hand to the yo-yo's string. Gargoyle suddenly went to dive down towards the river below them, causing Cat Noir to shout in warning, "Cannonball!"

The two smacked into the rivers surface with a big splash, and they disappeared underneath in the water, leaving Ladybug to still descend down to where they were, shrieking loudly.

"I'm reporting live from the Notre-Dame attack!" Alya was standing near the banks of the river with a worried Marinette, who was thinking about her twin back at 'home'. Alya was recording with her phone to capture the fight, and moved the camera up spotting Ladybug now appearing on the river.

She also slammed into the rivers surface with panicked yells, trying to get her footing to somewhat surfe the water because of how fast she was getting tugged along. The girl successfully did so when she bent her knees a little bit, holding onto the yo-yo with both hands, and the water flew up behind her as she skidded across the river.

"That was incredible! Oh, my god!" Alya cheered with excitement, as she shook Marinette's shoulders around when she placed her phone away, and span around to the crowd behind, "Did you guys see that? She's a hero! A she-ro!"

The crowd all hollered in agreement with her words, starting to clap their hands to encourage the two heroes on the river. At the same time Marinette had pulled out her phone straightaway, and ignored all the commotion around her, muttering to herself concerned, "I better text (N/N) to see if she's at home."

Back with where the heroes were now Cat Noir was having trouble holding his breath under water, as he was getting his face pushed against the floor by gargoyle, air bubbles escaping his mouth in his yells.

"I think we've hit rock bottom," Ladybug cringed to herself with an eye squint behind her mask, and held on tighter to her yo-yo seeing Cat Noir's situation, "quite literally as well."

Cat Noir appeared back above the surface again, inside his mouth being a fish that somehow ended up there, and he spits the food out back into the water, "At least the fish is fresh!" He stresses to her, his figure drenched and getting even more so when gargoyle went back under the water.

She slightly slipped when one of her suited feet left the water, causing her to scream out in surprise, and slam it back down again as the water spraying up behind her went everywhere.

The wind was whipping through her (H/C) hair still half tied up, and felt little droplet of water land on her also. She tugged on the yo-yo, and grew worried when Cat Noir hadn't come back up yet, "Are you ok?!"

After a few seconds later his thumb broke the surface of the river, signalling that he indeed was still kicking, and that she didn't need to panic over his safety. However, when Ladybug's eyes land on an incoming ship ahead, and felt her shoulders, and face drop in horror, "Oh, no-"

Gargoyle flew out of the water with a massive splash before they could ram into the boat, sending all that water over the passengers on the deck, completely drenching their clothes and bodies.

Ladybug winced in sympathy watching this happen, just as she was pulled up from the water to get dragged along by gargoyle again, "Sorry!" Her exclaim trails off through the air, along with Cat Noir's 'bon appetit!'.

The villain they were trying to stop snarled when it passed over a train track below them, and she screamed more in fear as gargoyle changed directions mid air, her still getting dragged along by the yo-yo string.

It was now flying faster then before as gargoyle aimed to dive underneath the bridge closer to the water, making Ladybug's figure swing underneath it, while the other two were above the bridge.

Her shouts echo through the cold windy night, and the yo-yo once attached to gargoyle was no longer there, causing her to now fumble up in the air without anything to pull her along, "AHH!"

"Wait for me!" Cat Noir exclaimed in alarm seeing this occurring just below him, and grabbed gargoyle's stone ear to direct his flying down towards where she was.

Ladybug landed with a loud groan against the rocks in between the train tracks, her body rolling to a stop in a heap as she was laying on her sore side. Quickly stumbling to stand up, she pats herself all over in shock at that she managed to survive that all, and smiled in disbelief once she realised.

"Don't wait for me!" Cat Noir's voice was back again in a loud shout, as his figure was still stuck on gargoyle who just flew over her head towards the tunnel leading into the station underground.

She gasped in panic watching her partner disappear into the tunnel with gargoyle, and grew so even more when the sound of an approaching train was coming from the other end, "Kitty!" She exclaimed with a hand outstretched, and quickly pulled out her yo-yo to somehow safe him with it.

The train zooming past her on the track somewhat caused her to stumble, as the force of the wind around it made that little fall happen. She picked up her running to where Cat Noir was, and glanced down at the glowing yo-yo, and then back to the train's door handle.

Her gaze zoned in on that particular spot as she saw red with black spots like a ladybug, signalling to her that she needed to swing her yo-yo towards it. The yo-yo also chimed awake now also, as the swirled lines lit up, and she aimed her weapon at it.

The yo-yo wrapped around the train's handle easily, and she was quickly tugged off the ground to get pulled along by it. A terrified shout left her lips when she was shot up into the air, and another zoned in spot appeared in her vison, which was a part of the bridge.

Pulling off her yo-yo from the trains handle, she now recoiled her arm back behind her, and shot the yo-yo towards that spot with a grunt, seeing it wrap around it securely.

Ladybug held onto the end of the string tightly, swinging herself down below where all the cars were, and filed herself up when a bus almost hit her, "Ah! So sorry, excuse me-"

Her suited feet were running across the road in between the cars, who were honking their horns at her, and she sheepishly kept ranting out apologies. When a person crossing the road neared her path, she yelped startled and quickly jumped over the older man, landing back down against the road.

A familiar car was turning into the road where Ladybug was currently running with her yo-yo, and the figures of her parents inside came into view, both looking out worriedly at the chaos around them outside.

"What's going on?" Tom questioned in concern, and curiosity, as he held onto a cake in his lap seated in the passenger seat beside his wife.

"I don't know, but it looks serious." Sabine answered her husband, briefly glancing at him as she was the one driving the car along the road.

Tom sighed softly to himself, as a sudden relieved smile crossed his face staring at Sabine, and had no idea that one of his daughter was currently saving the world, "Thank goodness the girls are at home."

Sabine hummed in agreement also, just as the alarm went off on the windshield to show something was about to hit them, and saw Ladybug's figure swinging over them, "Watch out!"

"Mom? Dad?" She stuttered in shock seeing them in the car down below, as she span out of control in the air, and landed against the road groaning, "I'm gonna be so late for dinner!"

Internally crying over that fact she was going to miss food, she leaps up into the air with a grunt, and aims the yo-yo to another part of the bridge, swinging herself along towards the train where Cat Noir was.

He was running down the tunnel towards the exit as he saw the gargoyle behind him also, and the train also approaching in front. He only made it a few more steps, as he suddenly tripped over to slam his chin into the tracks, and gasped in alarm when his boot wouldn't break free.

Up perched on the incoming train Ladybug appeared from off of it, as she jumps into the air again, and swings her yo-yo down below to the bridges edges, yelling in slight excitement now.

Now starting to get the hang of it, she swings through the underneath bit, sometimes changing where she aimed the yo-yo, until she quickly shot herself up over the railing towards Cat Noirs fallen figure.

"Watch out!" She yelled just before the train could hit him, and slammed her body into his to tackle him out of the way into another safer part of the train tracks.

At the same time gargoyle arrived at the end of the tunnel into open air, and couldn't react in time when the train run straight into him, creating a big blast of purple aura around the train tracks, as gargoyle had disappeared into dust.

Back off to the side of the tracks hidden behind the train, Ladybug had Cat Noir's head gently rested against her bent thighs, as she glanced down at him concerned, wondering when his green eyes would flutter open again for her to see.

One of her arms was underneath his shoulders to stable him, and the other held onto his shoulder in hopes he would wake up soon. Her face soon brigehed up spotting his eyelashes slowly moving, and watched as he groggily sat up from her lap, his hand pressed to his forehead, wincing a little.

"Cat?" She questioned in a soft voice, expression showing deep worry as she stood up to move around to him, and bent down a little to look at him smiling, "I'm glad you're all right."

The sound of the crow clamoring below caught her attention momenetially, making her head turn towards the noise, and slightly cringe when a lot of people were now looking for them.

Feeling an intense gaze staring her figure down, she quickly looked back at Cat Noir to experience her breath hitching surprised at his sudden expression, "Not bad for a sidekick, h-huh?" She half stuttered her words, and reached out her hand for him to take, ears heating up in shyness, as her hair frames around her face.

His black slits in his eyes were dilated, as his mouth was slightly parted to gaze at her with a in awe, and dreamy look, heart fluttering inside his chest rapidly. He slowly lifted out his hand to place in hers, reminding him of that one encounter with (Y/N) in the library that he never forgot, as it stuck with him since.

When his gloved hand slipped into her open one, she heaved him up gently beside her to stand up, and she let go once he was standing straight. Though, his hand was still out, and continued to gaze at her with a dopy, starstruck look, even when her back was turned from him.

The sound of sirens blaring now was heard down below, as a few police cars came skidding down the street, and just stopped where the bridge was. The officers all came out of the cars, as a whistle blows, and one of them yells his order, "Find them!"

Cat Noir shudder when Ladybug grabbed his arm to yank him down with her in a crouch, and glanced at her as she points to the opposite way, "Quick! Let's go now!"

The once infected male with an akuma was set free, as the dark buttery flied out of his body creating evil whispers as it traveled through the train to outside of it, and screeched when it did so.

A purple thunder strikes in the air all of a sudden, and made a much larger hologram of a butterfly flash into the air, once it had hit the dark akuma.

"What was that?" Both of the newly heroes gasped in sync watching this, as they had made it down into a hidden away section near the bridge, and were still with each other.

"An akuma." Another voice spoke up behind them, as a figure of on older male dressed in an disguise, that was Master Fu appeared from out behind a tree.

The two glance at each other in confusion hearing the voice, and go to turn around quickly in alarm to see who it was, just as Cat Noir slightly moved in front of Ladybug in case.

"Now, who the heck is this guy?" He inquired with a little attitude, lips in a grin as he goes to move back from protecting his partner, and stood beside her figure.

Master Fu took notice of this, and hide his knowing smile beneath his oversized coat, already sensing these two were made for each other, "Before you wonder who I am, you must discover who you are."

Ladybug snorted a chuckle out in amusement, as her shoulders moved up and down once, all while bumping her elbow into Cat Noir's side, "It's not hard! He's insane."

"Well, I still think you look like a watermelon." He retorted smugly looking away from her quickly, as he glanced back with smirk seeing her eye twitch, loving the effect he already had on her.

She puffed her cheeks out in embarrassment, and crossed her arms over her chest, as she tilted her chin up to match his height, "Would you zip it fleabag!"

He raised his eyebrows up at her, his messy locks falling over his eyes to make him look more charming, as he got closer to her face teasingly, "Watermelon!"

"Insane!" She accused back just as fast, standing on her tippy toes to reach his face, and pointed one finger at his chest, huffing annoyed.

"Watermelon!"

"Insane!"

"Watermelon!"

"Insane!"

Their accusation grew louder between each other, until Master Fu exclaimed for them to stop, and they paused mid speech to turn back to him. Cat Noir's arms were over her head in a clawing position, while Ladybug had her fists up to smack him.

"You, Ladybug, hold the power of creation." Master Fu pointed at the (H/C) haired girl, who turned to grin amused at Cat Noir, gaining a wide eyed look back, "while you, Cat Noir, hold the power of destruction."

"Cool!" He gasped in excitement while holding up his hands that had claws, flipping them back and forth to show them off, as he questioned Master Fu cautiously, "And how come you know all this stuff?"

The Miraculous holder raised a finger up at them, "You must both defeat Hawkmoth, for he is the one transforming all this hate and anger," He emphasis the words with his hands in the air, and explained to them seriously, "into these horrible creatures."

Ladybug made a funny face hearing the villain name, as she raised her masked eyebrows up into a slant, and stuttered to pronounce the words, while Cat Noir glanced at her a little, "Hawk-who?"

"Stop them and capture their akumas." Master Fu told them with one of his fists clenched in emphasis again, as he adjusted the sunglasses over his eyes to not reveal who he was.

"Yeah, easy." Cat Noir punched his fist into his palm with confidence, and then crossed his arms over his chest, as he winks charmingly at Ladybug, "I got this covered."

She groaned unimpressed at his flirting, shaking her head as she flicks his bell with two fingers, making him gasp surprised with a open mouth, and the bell to dingle a little.

"No! Stronger together!" Master Fu corrected the male as he placed his hands together to show what he meant, and continued on explaining, "It's the only way to reach the perfect balance of heart, and mind," He goes to walk behind the tree he came out of, but not before finishing off his meaningful words, "or you will not defeat Hawkmoth."

Ladybug shudders in shock when he disappeared out of view, and watched as Cat Noir run on all fours like a cat towards the tree, his bell ringing again when he moved. He spotted no Master Fu in sight, making him even more confused now as he glanced around the area.

Feeling overwhelmed with everything that's recently just happened to her, Ladybug gripped the side of her head with one hand, and began to walk forward, "I did not sign up for this."

Cat Noir stood up straight when she reached near him, and nodded his head in acknowledgement, as he placed a finger up to his chin, going to try and ease her worries, "I understand. You're afraid. Failure is not your enemy. Your fears are."

She looked up from the ground hearing his sudden remeasuring tone, completely taking aback by it as her heart was fluttering inside her chest, something she never thought would be possible with anyone other then Adrien. However it didn't last long, as Cat Noir was back to his jokester was.

"So, just be my sidekick and you'll be safe!" He declared confidently as he motioned to himself with both hands, hitting his bell in the process and held out a hand for her to take softly.

Ladybug was going to take his outstretched hand for her, but she instead slapped it harshly and stomped past him annoyed, while gritting out to herself, "I can't stand him for another minute!"

"Hold on!" He quickly spoke up seeing her figure leaving, desperately wanting to see this beautiful girl more then once, as his face grows gentle and holds his hands up to his chest, "Will I ever see you again?"

"Oh, sure! In your dreams, and my nightmares." She grumbled back when she turned around to him bridely, and grabbed her yo-yo around he waist in her hands, "Or better yet, how about we wait until we both get killed in the afterlife?"

She swings the yo-yo behind her a little bit, and then aims it up to a tree brunch, as she held the string with one hand, and let herself get tugged up into the air. She completely forget about the tree, making her yelp in pain when her head rammed straight into the brunch on her way up.

Despite all this occurring Cat Noir was grinning like a dork, as his face held nothing but a dreamy look for the girl who had now disappeared into the night time sky.
