Valentina

She was beautiful. Rainbow coloured orbs and long flowing ankle length blond hair, smooth, glittering and shining. Her lips were full and she always smiled at everyone, and her nose was pointy and prominent on her perfect white skinned face. She was wearing a long blue gown that went down to just above her feet, that had white lace shoulders and hem. Her hair was well groomed always with a side braid that was tied with a graceful lilac ribbon. Her appearance was so beautiful that every man who dared to look became entranced.

She walked with graceful steps to her cottage in the well visited village in the countryside, where she lived alone. There was a castle of black steel in the distance, where the trio of wizards that ruled the countryside lived. They were handsome also, but not very likeable, unlike her in her little cornflower blue cottage with her sociable personality.

The first wizard was tall and brooding, with black pageboy hair and piercing black eyes that never had any sort of twinkle in them. He wore a black robe and had dark skin, and a cape that was blood red under the darkness. He was powerful in the element of air and winds, and could command a legion of wind spirits quite easily. Oldest of the three, it was natural that he provoked the most fear in the normal, non magical visitors that came by the village.

The second wizard had spiky brown hair and emerald eyes that flirted with the girls and then tricked them into trusting him. His white skin contrasted the white robe that he wore, underneath which was leather of a dark purple colour, highly strange. His eyes glowed like a feline creature at night and people often made the assumption that he was a vampire in the darkness. He controlled fire and could create creatures of hardened magma to do his bidding when he wished.

The third, longest wizard had long blond hair that went past his hunched shoulders. His yellow eyes were always blank and he was quiet, but always scheming like his fellow rulers. His pale hay bale coloured robe matched his tanned skin and eyes and he controlled water, that he could manipulate to irrigate fields, summon naiads and fight in a battle effectively. He commanded the least fear, but didn't seem to mind.

The three wizards were very different and had only one thing in common. They all fancied the girl in the long blue gown.

She was always gazed at from their window, collectively by the three wizards altogether, whenever she was in sight. She greeted visitors who would gawk and trigger jealous glances from the wizards, even though none of them had ever talked to the attractive girl. She would dance in the field, and their watchful eyes would watch beautiful flowers bloom around her, which seemed unnatural. They realised that she was a rare wielder of flowers and nature, and could possibly control all the elements.

That only made them more entranced.

The day that she felt hate for the first time was the day that she discovered her powers, and what terrible things she was capable of.

A stranger had waltzed into the village on a hot summer day and he was handsome, with blue eyes and short blonde hair that would make the girls swoon. He looked like the opposite of Hell, she noticed from the field. The stranger ignored the glares of the wizards and walked towards her in the field. The wizards felt that they had enough and began storming down the stairs of the tower to deal with the stranger.

"Well, hello there. You sure look beautiful today." He noticed the flowers blooming around her and smiled at the beautiful lady, who flashed him a beautiful smile in turn.

"Hey. Welcome to the village!" She said brightly. However the distant horizon became stormy and their was a licking fire that didn't harm anything at the edge of the field, as well as a water naiad. She frowned as the stranger turned around.

The wizards were standing at the edge of the field glaring daggers at the stranger.

"Leave." The oldest stated. When the handsome stranger stood his ground he growled and slapped his palm heavily, sending a blast of air into him. He toppled backwards. Suddenly the girl felt a foreign emotion. Red hot anger.

The stranger didn't need to be told a third time and got up, running away as fast as he could. The wizards began walking towards her.

The flowers around her wilted as she heated up to burning point. Squeezing her eyes closed she attempted to cool down, but couldn't. When she opened her eyes they were burning, and water droplets were forming in her hand. The venti of the sky swirled around her. The youngest wizard shivered as he realised what was going to happen. The oldest was not likely to survive the wrath of one who controlled all the elements and nature.

The oldest wizard stopped before her.

"Come with me, my dear." He stated, but noticed the state she was in. Oh no, he thought. She's angry huh?

"Don't talk to me, you wilted piece of disgusting fungus." She spat. "You had no right to scare him off, you bastard. Curse you."

He laughed courageously. "Not so pretty now huh young lady? What a mouth of a sailor. I have uses for you in the castle! I am not asking twice." He grew dark and so did the sky.

The other two wizards took the hint and rushed away back to the castle. If their comrade wanted to suffer he would at the hands of the girl. She was too powerful. They wanted to live another day.

The wizard scoffed. Cowards.

"last chance." He warned. She said nothing and instead her palm blazed with flames and the other was swirling with wind.

"Try me." She said quietly with untold rage and slammed her palms into his chest. He screeched and the wind carried him backwards, slamming into a wall of vines that sprung from the ground. The vines twisted around his arms painfully and held him in place as she stood up.

Her dress was no longer blue. It was black and torn in the breeze. Her eyes were blood red and boiling with disgust. She stalked towards the wizard, who refused to act as scared as he really was. Deep down he saw his worst fears come out in her. She was now hovering above him.

"I always greet the visitors. You have NO right to scare him away. You have NO right to command me, you slimy worm. You will pay."

Feelings that were not her own took over her, and her vision filled with scarlet colour. She glared at the man now cowering before her, and snarled.

"Please!" His voice rang out. "Just come with me and let me go!"

"Disgusting." That was all she said to the burnt and shivering wizard before she summoned the elements screeching in her palms. She slammed them into his now flopped chest and the oldest wizard's scream and searing flesh could be heard, spied and smelt from a mile away.

The sky roared, the ground rumbled and the wind slammed into things in rage around her as she was surrounded in a cloud of darkness. She forced her palms onto the wizard once more and was surprised that she was revelling in his throaty screams of pain and she realised that he was in hell and barely holding on. Soon the spirits around her dulled and the wizard took his last breath.

A spiral of light spun from his chest and into her palm, absorbed to strengthen her power. There was nothing left of him. The girl smiled and sat back down on the now lush and moist again grass. At the touch of her palm the vine wall retreated into the core of the unforgiving earth, taking with it the useless body of the wizard. The sky cleared and the clouds were fluffy once again, and the stunning blue was like before.

Her clothes recovered and she twirled, spinning it back into shape. Her eyes became baby blue instead of the angry blood red, as the enemy had been vanquished.

The girl had discovered who and what she was. A maiden of the elements, a floral menace. Beautiful with the mouth of a sailor and the heart of a devil.

Her eyes were bloodshot as she pounded on the walls of Tartarus, where the other twin wizards sent her ages ago. Her legs were covered with a black leather and her top was made of the same material of the hell that she was now trapped in.Β

Her skin was no longer white, and perfect, and her nose was no longer the defining feature of her face. Her arms and legs under her garments were covered with black blisters, an effect from the magic of those twins, oh those despicable twins that sent her down here.

Her whole essence tasted of hate, and frustration. Black sharp feathers made up her only strong feature left, her new battle wings that tore the jacket open behind her back. With an arrogant flap of her wing, the air of the underworld did her bidding. With the wave of a hand the venti and lava soared to her command. Once the comrades came down here she wold punish them until there was a worse hell to go to.Β

She would tear them apart and put them back together again ruthlessly.

She had forgotten whom she once was, now power crazed and a maniac. The fields no longer sang in beauty around her feet, and instead cowered beneath her, in a swirl of darkness, a field of menace, hers to control and bend to murder others who were already dead in this tortuous dimension. She was still alive and banished from the overworld, desperate to get back up there to release her unmentionable, untold wrath.

She waited and waited. She sat and shadows curled around her form, formed spikes and killed unaware spirits around her. Every time something perished she would bare her now sharp and grey fangs in a snarling expression, intimidating whatever happened around her. The underworld became more of a death riddled place while she was down here and causing chaos.

Finally, one night, 2 spirits came floating down into the underworld. The girl inhaled, and opened her eyes lightening fast, realising that her moment had arrive for her to take their souls and express her vengeance towards them. It was the wizards. Their lifetime above had finally ended. Their miserable existence here would end also.

Their ghostly yellow and emerald eyes found her blood red ones and silent screams radiated the air between them. Their fear was prominent in the smoke that rose from the steaming, dead ground and rotated around her, blowing the wizards blonde and brown hair around, while they tried to escape in a flurry of panic, knowing what would happen to them should she have her way with them.

She curled her fingers and the ghosts were dragged over to where she now stood tall and menacing. She impaled their floating bodies repeatedly with shadow spikes and lava, the ever burning fire that consumed the pair's unfortunate senses. She screeched with them in her mind, where only she could enjoy their sounds of anguish. Soon the ghosts were nothing but ashes, tortured, disembowelled. She had taken their essences, exactly what she needed to get back to the world above. The girl smiled.

With a malicious grin, and a huge flap of her black wings, she took off into the red, smoky sky that made up hell. Up towards the white light that cowered from her instead of welcoming her with open arms. Those humans who took her beauty and life away from her will pay, and suffer in the fields of menace for eternity.
