Hey guys sorry about the late update! I wrote this story on my perception of the Cupid and how the being works, so it's nothing to do with mythology. I kinda made it up.
The picture was random lol
This is a supernatural, paranormal and chill romance story! I hope you enjoy it and I hope the next update won't be so delayed!
Luv you all
Valentina
She was used to hearts breaking, literally and figuratively.
There she sat, the very deprived but thriving definition of love, on the seat of hearts. Her flaming red hair and freckles on the bridge of her perfect nose complemented her white skin and yellow eyes beautifully, giving her the appearance of an acne free, impeccable teenage girl of 15 years old. She looked into a mirror she procured from her large pocket and nodded in satisfaction at her look. Amazing.
Her pockets were camouflaged in a variety of reds and pinks that adorned her beautiful dress. The hems of it had shining, glittering pearls knitted onto lace and the dress went straight down to her lower leg, stopping just above her scar free ankles. Her shoes were yellow sandals suited to her small feet. She could morph her appearance however she liked, but this one was her favourite. The most attractive, the best one that practically reflected her wonderful yet dangerous personality.
Her bracelet was attached to her person every second of her existence, passed down from her unfortunate predecessor that decided her time in this miserable place was over. I don't blame her, being a Cupid goddess was hard.
The bracelet shimmered as the diamonds on it shone from the bright light. She smiled down at it, settled on her wrist, the thing that showed her successful and prophetic pairings for lucky humans whenever they prayed to her, and her subconscious, powered by it, would go down and poke their mind in the right or wrong direction, depending on what she felt like. It was amusing watching the mortals frolic around in their summer dresses, asking random people that were not their soulmates out. Sometimes those relationships worked out, Most of the time they don't, and she had to intervene.
After all, she was one of them once before the previous goddess gifted her this power. It was a privilege that she had come to see as her right, and would probably never let go of . It was a pure sensation of reigning fear and admiration directed towards her, a previously insignificant being, and she had loved it. She felt no remorse for that woman, as she watched her fall into dust at the time. She was so consumed in this attracting scent of power, loving it and cradling it.
She stalked like a feline creature off my throne, watching and spectating the events of humanity below. This palace was high above their perceptions, and nobody would know about it unless they were her, or the royal servants that would never leave their eternal posts. Today she was bored, and a bored cupid was never a good sign. She needed some entertainment.
And the only option that she thought of was to physically pair up soulmates herself.
Grinning, she left her will of iron concentrate on one thing. Wings that she would use to fly down to the place mortals called Earth. Chuckling, she felt the majestic white wings with soft feathers erupt from her relaxed back, and flapped them tentatively to make sure of her safety. She couldn't die, but tumbling through space certainly was not on her immortal bucket list. Nodding her head, satisfied, she strolled back to her seat and plopped down on it gracefully, wings folded.
Now all that was left to do was to find a target, and to pack for a very long time, knowing how clumsy human emotions were.
Her smirk tugged at the edge of her rosy lips. She would have tons of fun.

Jayden was tapped on the shoulder as he placed his books in his locker. Sighing, he turned to face the cheerleader that so found her peace in annoying him.
She also happened to be one of his good friends.
Brushing his unkept brown fringe that he wished would just disappear, he stared into Sasha's twinkling grey eyes with his own black ones.
"Hi Sash!" He greeted with a laugh as Sasha slapped him on the shoulder. It was a friendly tradition in their group as they talked to play an impromptu game of tip, and it was extremely hilarious.
"Gotcha!" Sasha exclaimed and Jayden rushed after her escaping figure, ignoring the disapproving gazes of many middle aged teachers as he ran past them outside. He would get Sasha and she knew that.
Jayden was 15, and drop dead gorgeous. People thought he was popular but oh no he wasn't. He preferred to stay out of the burning spotlight. But he couldn't as people admired his study abilities and sporting excellence left and right, and he had gotten used to that. People had their judgements. He was who he said he was.
With a boom he caught up to Sasha, his schoolbag bouncing against his white school shirt, and tapped her on the head before pirouetting and hightailing out of her reach. He could still hear her amused grumbling.
She walked towards him and he smirked at her, and she chuckled.
"Damn Jayden! Now I see why they say you're fast." The girl snickered. "Also why are you carrying your schoolbag? We still have english."
He sighed. He had forgotten the day's special schedule. He had to attend some teacher's goodbye assembly that nobody cared about. With a sigh, he shrugged and followed Sasha back to class.
"I don't know, I guess I simply forgot." He replied as they walked.
He took out his phone and began to text Michael.
Yo mike what up man
Hi J i'm good where the hell are you you're almost late for english
I'm walking with Sash now almost there! Oh about that party thing in the city over the weekend. R UΒ coming with the rest of us?

Since Jayden wasn't paying attention, he crashed straight into someone as he was walking. Sasha barely had time to hold both of them up. Jayden blushed and glanced up to see a fiery redhead.
She looked very very pissed.
The Cupid had chosen this school and the first welcome she got was a boy crashing into her? Looking into his black eyes, she calmed her anger a little to keep up her disguise. There had been cases where people had recognised the goddess, but not with her. She was very skilled at blending into the background.
"Ow." She muttered at Jayden, who apologised profusely. Hmm. A boy with manners and sense. She thought that she could pair him up. She barely restrained a smirk at the edge of her lips.
"Hi, I'm Cassandra." She used the name she loved so much.
"Jayden and Sasha" The blonde standing beside him spoke up for the flustered guy. At first glance, the Cupid knew that she wasn't for him. Their aura obviously didn't match. What was weirder was that Jayden had no desires for a soulmate in his heart. That only made her job harder. She sighed silently.
"Well can you guys show me to english? I'm new here." Her blatant lie didn't even affect either of them.
'Sure' Jayden led her away with Sasha, who threw smiles at her. She rolled her eyes under the mist of her disguise and walked silently with them to the classroom.
Jayden's heart was pounding faster by the minute and he kept glancing back at her. The Cupid almost laughed out loud, and she could tell that Sasha was about to do the same. It was so entertaining watching that boy. The next time he glanced back they made eye contact. Those black eyes were so attractive and she was getting lost in them..... wait. No. That was not her job.Β
Their sweet moment were interrupted as they arrived at the puny classroom full of bored pupils. She thanked them and went in. She felt an insistent hand on her shoulder. Jayden. She couldn't help but savour his warmth, and the feeling of his hand. She shook herself out of it as her bracelet burned on her wrist furiously, telling her something that she didn't want to know. The Cupid controlled her blush as Jayden asked her a question.
"I Insist that I sit with you." He suggested casually, but his heartbeat gave him away. Her breath hitched. The poor boy liked her human appearance. She couldn't blame him.
With a nod, they travelled to the back of the room, where a black haired boy was waving at Jayden furiously. Sasha trailed behind them. She read her thoughts and was amused. She thought that Jayden liked her? That was very much true, but she was definitely not about to return the gesture.
After a very long and disgusting session, she, Jayden, Sasha and the black haired boy Michael walked out of class. Sasha and Michael veered off as their lockers were elsewhere. She cleared her throat when they were alone.
"English is boring" She huffed and enjoyed the smile that crept onto Jayden's handsome features.
"I know right? Oh, yeah, do you want to come to the party in the city over the weekend? It would be fun." Nervously, he put his hands in his pockets, waiting for her answer.
"Did you just ask me out after our first lesson?" She snickered as Jayden blushed. "Sure, I'll go with you." The signs were telling her different things as Jayden's face lit up like a Christmas tree. She believed that his match may not be on this Earth, and wondered what that meant. The bracelet began to heat up again and she fought to control a hiss of anger. She wanted that smile to remain on his face.
"Great!" He said.

She was dressed in a blood red cocktail dress that revealed most of her back. Of course she didn't mind. She was the Cupid! She was meant to look like this.Β
She had put on some pink lipstick and dangling blue feather earrings. Her shoes were crystal clear with a tint of pink in it, and she adored them. She stood on the street in front of the school and waited for Jayden.
He came rolling in a Toyota, and she climbed into the front seat beside him as they drove.
"Whoa." They both said at the exact same time. And then they burst out laughing.
Over the week the two had grown closer, and the Cupid was almost regretting her position and job. The fact that he was wearing a tailor made black tuxedo wasn't helping her forbidden feelings.
For once she was having fun. For once she had feelings. For once she enjoyed Earth. Why not tell him? Because she couldn't.
She was staring out the window as Jayden watched her carefully as he drove into the city. Something seemed off about his newfound friend. He admitted that he cared for her in ways that he could have never imagined would be possible within such a time period, but he cared nonetheless. She was so pretty in that dress, he thought unconsciously. Concluding that it was nothing, he kept driving.
In less than 5 minutes they reached the venue and parked. They went into the club where many people were dancing. The walls were stained silver by the rotating disco ball in the center of the ceiling. He led her to a private suite, as the feelings in him were suddenly suffocating him as he watched the glances of the other boys at her. He was jealous. He was jealous because he liked her as a crush.
Always he had pushed girls off as they came at him. His heart was closed, motionless almost on the concept of love. But she had woken her up. And he realised that he had to tell her that.
They sat together on the velvet red couch in a private room, the Cupid confused as she looked at him, wondering why they were here together. Her feelings for the boy were so overwhelming, and never for a moment last week, she swore, did her ring stop burning her. Sighing, she waited to him to speak. She was confused about the signs about his soulmate. Hell, everything was confusing.
"Cassandra, look I don't know how you'll react with this." His hand messed with his adorable hair, pulling through it nervously. I grabbed his other hand in silence reassurance as he continued.
"Ever since we met in that corridor I have fallen for you. My heart beats faster when you're around. Hell, I think I have a crush on you." He whispered.
All the gears came together in her head. The supernatural signs meant one thing and one thing only. The burning bracelet singled out the truth. His soulmate wasn't some human, it wasn't some other god either. It was her. She stiffened.
"Sandra?" He was scared. She turned to face him.
"I have a revelation as well." She sighed and without hesitation, showered the room in blinding light as she transformed.
She had white long hair, eyes and lips, and her dress was now white as well. Her angelic wings spread wide in front of him, she felt a strange emotion. Vulnerability.
"I am the Cupid, Jayden, and I like you too. Hell, I like you more than I can say."
His mouth was opening and closing. "Oh my gosh" Was all he manage to say before she pressed her lips to his.
Fire spread through their hearts as they rose high into the sky, soulmates forever, soft lips moving together. Nobody would judge, nobody would notice.
The Cupid had finally found her mate.
