"CHŌSŌ, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS stroller? or how about this pink crib?", you questioned, pointing to a magazine with various baby necessities, as chōsō just nodded.

"I think pink's a very nice color", the curse replied, squeezing your hands as he heeded to every desire you commanded.

even though you were a plain human, chōsō loved you dearly because of your accepting personality.

it took you a while to finally understand the difference between normal curses and the nine death painting wombs, but you eventually got the gist of it.

and although kechizu and esō had frightened you a bit, you had learned to accept them as family, as they were now your brothers-in-law.

"what should we name our baby girl? mm...will she have a last name? or should we just give her a first name? do you think she'll inherit your blood technique? what if she's normal just like me?", you worried, as eight and a half months of pregnancy has really taken a toll on your figure and mentality.

chōsō let out a low chuckle as he pulled you into an embrace, rubbing your aching back — from the heavy weight of your growing child — as he gently grazed his thumb back and forth against the back of your hand.

"no matter what she's like, I can assure you that I will love her wholeheartedly", chōsō answered.

"and she doesn't need a last name if you don't want to give her one. we can always decide after her birth", chōsō added on.

you sighed as you pressed chōsō's slightly roughed up hand against your cheek.

"thank you for bearing with me", you mumbled.

"thank you for bearing our child for so long", chōsō replied, sliding his hand down towards your overgrown tummy as he could feel a feisty kick.

"she's going to be a fighter just like her father", you chuckled, making chōsō shake his head.

"she's going to be just as beautiful as her mother".

     you were in hella pain!

contractions made you feel like you were being stabbed in the pelvis and ovaries over and over again with a knife, as the nurses that assisted you recommended you deeply breathe in and out.

chōsō held your hand as you could feel tears brim your eyes, meanwhile pieces of hair stuck to your temple, glued together by sweat.

your water broke during your dinner with chōsō, as one moment you were enjoying the savory flavor of garlic bread, and then you were suddenly clutching onto the edge of your marble table with water dripping down your thighs.

chōsō didn't take another moment to call for the nearest hospital, as they had quickly sent over an emergency truck, accommodating your conditions.

"c-chōsō...it...it hurts", you sobbed out, immediately wanting to back out, as you were not ready to give birth.

"it's okay, (y/n). it's okay. it'll be over in a moment", chōsō convinced, kissing the top of your forehead as the nurses had to stop the male once they reached the emergency room.

chōsō's eyes lingered quite a while longer as he watched you disappear into another room, meanwhile he anxiously took a seat on the many chairs right outside.

as much as the curse wished to accompany you inside the emergency room, he knew that all he could do was trust the nurse and doctors and await for the birth of his daughter.

deeply breathing in and out, the man found himself praying to god for the very first time for a successful delivery of his child and your well-being.

everything around the curse just made him feel more alert: every second that had passed with the clock that was mounted onto the wall, every human that shuffled in even the slightest, every pair of legs that had swiftly strolled past the curse, and even the scuffing of visitor papers.

chōsō could feel his pulse internally begging to just quench his thirst and just rush in to see you, however, he had to wait.

while chōsō tried to maintain his patience, you were squeezing the life out of some random nurse's hand.

"deep breathe, deep breathe, keep deep breathing! you're doing good!", the doctor reassured, making you grunt as you felt your entire being cast on fire.

never in your life have you experience such pain, other than when you were dumped by your first boyfriend, but that was besides the point.

"FUCK!", you loudly cursed.

"JUST HURRY UP AND COME OUT ALREADY!", you screamed, trying your hardest not to give up, as you felt someone wipe your sweat away.

it wasn't until six and a half hours later that the red emergency sign had turned green, making chōsō hastily stand up as he awaited for the doctors and nurses to trickle out.

"s-sir, how's my wife and child?! are they okay?!"

"no worries, your child is perfectly healthy and your wife is just over exhausted. you may go in now, if you so desire", the main doctor informed, to which chōsō had nodded as he rushed in, stopping midway through the door as he witnessed your disheveled form holding a little figure.

chōsō felt his breath hitch as he watched you lazily wave him over with a calm smile.

"chōsō, come look", you muttered out, letting the curse loom over your child, as he nervously held your newborn daughter.

in a bundle of white blankets was a petite face: button nose, thin lips, closed eyes, and a little tuff of black hair.

you tiredly observed, as chōsō had unconsciously started to silently cry.

the man cradled his daughter like she was a national treasure that could be broken apart if even the dullest force were to touch her.

"have you thought of a name?", you quietly asked, feeling your lids become heavy, as birthing a child was truly a blessing, but more tiring than anything.

chōsō nodded, extending his finger out, as the baby leisurely wrapped her entire hand around your husband's pinkie.

"mayonaka: midnight, for the time of her safe arrival into this world".
