"ARE YOU GUYS
almost ready yet?" denise called out from downstairs.

celiah was currently sat in jobe's room, with her younger brother and jobe himself while getting herself ready.

celiah had known the bellingham family for a while, their mothers being best friends ever since their adolescence. therefore, that meant their kids then becoming bestfriends.

with jobe and celiah's younger brother both being born in the same year, they both got along very well.

jude and celiah also only had a one year age gap, which explained why they also were close with one another.

celiah was told that both families were going to a dinner together at a new italian restaurant that had recently opened near them, to catch up and just talk with one another.

but she was the only one who didn't know something very unexpected would happen.

"almost!" she called back out to jobe's mother, leaning over and turning off the hair straightener. she let out a small huff of air, before standing up and skimming her eyes over her outfit in the mirror.

she hadn't thrown on anything too fancy, just a black, long spaghetti strap dress along with her hair in a half up half down style, some loose strands of hair falling out and almost perfectly framing her face.

she let out a hum, before asking a question to the pair of boys who's eyes were glued onto their phones. "glasses or no glasses?"

her younger brother silently shrugged, the sound of his shirt material crinkling as jobe looked up, noticing the chunky glasses that she held.

"no glasses." he responded, to which celiah nodded, placing them back down onto jobe's desk.

"i'm leaving them here for now, i'll take them when we come back," she told jobe, to which he nodded to.

grabbing her phone and gently opening the door, celiah made her way downstairs, noting denise standing at the bottom of the stairs.

"you ready?" denise asked, to which she nodded. "ready." celiah replied, before adding a compliment. "your hair looks pretty today. it always does look pretty, but it looks gorgeous."

smiling widely, denise let out a soft tut, shaking her head. "you're gonna make me blush." she laughed, to which celiah smiled at.

"okay, now let's get going." she said. "mark and the boys are going together in his car, and your mom should be coming in her own. so, that leaves you and me in my car."

"sounds good to me."

"oh, one second, i left my purse in the car." denise hummed, looking over at celiah. "i'll be back, you wait here darling."she said, leaving celiah to admire the setting to herself.

with white tablecloths, tall windows, and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, the restaurant was a fine example of Italian cuisine.

the chatter and clinking of silverware filled the air, mixed in with the aroma of fine wines and delicious food being carried back and forth by the staff, clad in uniforms.

the atmosphere of the restaurant was one of sophistication, yet comfort. something celiah appreciated.

she was too caught up in admiring the beauty of the restaurant, not hearing the whispers and the nearing footsteps behind her.

they had came to a halt, and a familiar voice from behind caught her attention.

"i knew you'd like some fancy place like this."

in almost an instant, her eyes widened and her heart stopped its beating, instead sinking down to her stomach.

she swiftly turned to see none other than the face she hadn't seen infront of her for months. her best friend. jude bellingham.

"jude?" she breathed out, staring up at him like she'd just seen a ghost. "no, jobe." he responded, which surprisingly made celiah laugh out of her shock.

wasting no time, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into her embrace, nestling her head in his shoulder.

slightly taken off guard, jude paused for a moment, before wrapping his arms tightly around her torso, digging his head into her hair, letting out a sigh of contentment.

"i missed you. a lot" celiah mumbled into his shoulder, her voice muffled by his shirt. instead of making a sly joke, jude found his lips curling into a smile.

"i missed you too. a lot more." he replied, gently squeezing her waist.

after a long while of basking in each others arms, the pair pulled away, smiles plastered on their lips.

"why are you even here anyway?" celiah laughed, as she noticed jude feign hurt, an overdramatic frown forming on his face. "four months of not seeing me and this is how you react!" he exclaimed.

"you know what i mean!" she rolled her eyes, her smile only widened, making jude's lips twitch upwards.

seeing her smile, hearing her laugh, smelling her perfume..it felt unreal for jude. it was like in the time he was gone she had suddenly become ten times prettier.

not that he didn't think she wasn't pretty before. she had always been gorgeous in his eyes.

but he had to hold his tongue, to contain himself when he noticed his family, along with hers, beginning to approach the pair of them.

biting back a sigh, he bumped her side, before nodding towards the way they were walking in from.

"you ready for a whole evening of shouting?" he asked, amusement in his tone. she turned her head to look up at him, her face softening as she met his gaze.

"a hundred times more ready since you're here now."
she quietly responded, making jude's heart leap in his chest.

his grin grew, as he continued to stare down at her.
god she was gorgeous.
