╰┈➤ ❝ [ Luck of the draw only draws the unlucky ] ❞

GETTING KIDNAPPED WAS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF KIM JI-AN'S NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS. The possibility of being kidnapped had never really crossed her mind before. But she was sure that if she had given it more thought, her made up experience would have been way different to the current one. First of all, she would've imagined getting thrown into a white van and getting possibly knocked out by some masked mens with intimidating figures. Then she would be taken to an abandoned warehouse, where she will be tied to a chair to get tortured unless she gave the kidnappers what they desired. Resulting in, either being killed or rescued.

But her actual experience was nothing like it. She was not thrown into a white van by intimidating mens, but instead she was forced to walk five blocks with some ignorant guys who were gripping the heck out of her arms to prevent her from running away. They were also very knowledgeable about what streets to take to avoid being seen by anyone. No, she was not taken to an abandoned warehouse, but instead she was taken to the most random place of all places. A karaoke room.

Was she getting tortured by her kidnappers? Absolutely not. Unless hearing awful vocals counted as a form of torture. She couldn't complain though, after all she didn't want to die. Kim Ji-an was sitting on the sofa when Sung-yong came and sat beside her. Ji-an shifted on spot not liking having him so close to her.

Sung-yong placed his arm on the back of the sofa leaning to his side to face Ji-an. "Give me your phone."

Ji-an bite the inside of her cheek to stop herself from saying something she shouldn't. It wouldn't be smart of her. So, reluctantly she took her phone out of her bag and handed it to him. Sung-yong unlocked the phone with the help of Ji-an's face and went into her contacts. He scrolled until he found Han Seo-jun's contact.

"I would've expected some cringy nickname or at least a couple of cute emojis but there's nothing in sight." The boy said, raising an eyebrow at the girl. "You don't enjoy that type of stuff?"

Kim Ji-an smiled sweetly at him but her eyes might have just been killing him. "There's a lot of things I don't enjoy. For example, getting kidnapped. So could we get this over with?"

Sung-yong laughed, "You got an attitude." He looked her up and down. "I see why Han Seo-jun likes you."

Now, that was something that almost had Ji-an throwing up. The girl looked away from Sung-yong not having it in her to continue looking at him. But from her peripheral vision she could see him raise the phone to his ear. There was like two seconds of silence before Sung-yong spoke again.

"Hey, Han Seo-jun. You must've picked up right away because it's your girlfriend." He greeted and Ji-an tried to hear Seo-jun's voice but it was hard to do so with how loud the music was playing. "You have ten minutes to get to the karaoke room downtown. I'll be waiting, so hurry up over here. I miss you." The last part he said it in a mocking voice obviously trying to get in Seo-jun's nerves.

Ending the call, Sung-yong raised to his feet and placed Ji-an's phone on the table that was in front of the couch before sitting on it. He took a out a pack of cigarettes and placed one on his lips. He flashed the lighter in front of Ji-an's face making the girl flinch away from the flame. "What do you want to do until your boyfriend gets here?"

Ji-an was already tired of his behavior. "What kind of question is that? Do I look like I came here from my own free will?"

Sung-yong took the unlighted cigarette off his lips and clicked his tongue. "Don't stress yourself too much, pretty girl. I'm sure your boyfriend will be here soon. He sounded very pissed over the phone."

One of the other guys, who was part of the group singing in front of the tv, walked up to Sung-yong and dragged him away. "Come here, dude!"

Kim Ji-an watched them all for a moment before as discreetly as possible leaning forward and retrieving her phone. She unlocked it as fast as she could and clicked on Soo-ah's contact. Hitting the FaceTime button, she placed the phone on the couch facing the front of the room. Thankfully, the phone could not be seen because of the table so when Sung-yong looked back at her he didn't notice what she was doing. Ji-an could only hope Soo-ah had answered the call.

She knew right now Soo-ah, Soo-jin, and Tae-hoon were taking some sort of tutoring class so Ji-an knew the possibility of Soo-ah's phone being on silent was very likely. After a minute or so, Ji-an picked up the phone and placed it back on the table after the call had ended. Sung-yong stayed with the group for about five minutes before making his way back to the couch and sitting beside Ji-an. The girl had to fight off the urge to move away yet again, not enjoying having his arm around her.

Abruptly, the door to the room opened. Kim Ji-an looked at the person who walked in and her eyes widened when instead of seeing Han Seo-jun, her eyes met Lee Su-ho's.

"Who is this? You're not the guy I called." Sung-yong said.

Su-ho ignored his words. His whole attention on Ji-an. "Kim Ji-an."

"Lee Su-ho?" It was hard to see his face clearly with all the lights in the room but even from there Ji-an could tell that Su-ho was fuming.

Recognizing who Su-ho was, Sung-yong let go of Ji-an and stood up, pointing a finger at the boy. "Oh, wait. He's the guy who followed us last time."

Without any warning, Su-ho jumped across the table, sprinting towards Sung-yong and tackling him to the couch. Ji-an moved out of the way, standing off to the corner while Su-ho began punching the living out of the boy. Sung-yong tried to cover himself as best as he could but it was impossible to do so with the way Su-ho was hitting him. Sung-yong's gang tried helping but Su-ho pushed them away and continued his assault.

"Hey!"

Ji-an's attention was pulled to the door as Han Seo-jun walked in. He quickly looked at what was unfolding, from Su-ho punching Sung-yong to Ji-an's startled expression before throwing his jacket on the floor.

"It's Han Seo-jun! Go get him!" Sung-yong's gang said. The one with a blue and red jacket tried punching Seo-jun but the boy skillfully dodged the attack. He then pushed another guy out of the way as he made his way towards Su-ho, punching the other that tried stopping him. Seo-jun moved Su-ho away from Sung-yong and right when he managed to do so, Su-ho was already punching the other guys coming from behind them.

Han Seo-jun's eyes landed on Ji-an as she watched the scene in astonishment. He knew her very well and he could tell she wasn't scared but rather surprised and impressed at the situation. While Su-ho fought off the others, Seo-jun turned back to Sung-yong, grabbing him by the collar and continuing what Su-ho had begun. "You punk!"

Su-ho jumped over the table and kicked a guy who was trying to get close to Ji-an. Standing in front of the girl, Su-ho pinned one of the bullies to the table. Ji-an noticed another guy about to attack Su-ho so she quickly leaned forward over Su-ho's crouched body and with all her might punched the guy on his face making him stumble back. Su-ho gave the girl an impressed look making the girl shrugged awkwardly. Now her hand was throbbing but it had been worth it.

"We are here!!" Through the door walked in Soo-ah, Soo-jin, Jug-yeong, and Tae-hoon. This took everyone's attention except Ji-an's. She was still looking down at her hand, wincing a little when she moved it. Yeah, she'll need to practice those punching skills in case she ever gets kidnapped again.

Lee Su-ho who was close to her noticed this. He looked down at her scanning her face and then taking her hand to inspect it. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"

Kim Ji-an shook her head smiling faintly. "It's okay. I'm just not used to it." She made eye contact with Su-ho for a second. He was looking at her with such a tender look that it almost hurt her to keep his gaze.

From the other side of the room, Han Seo-jun saw the small interaction. He looked away and clenched his jaw as he tried pushing away the jealousy building in his stomach. His hand that was still gripping Sung-yong's collar formed a fist as he resumed his previous task. This time with a little more force behind his blows.

Ji-an was glad her call for help had worked and that her friends had came to her rescue. Not only did they find her but alike Su-ho and Seo-jun they were not letting the bullies actions go unpunished. Soo-ah jumped on one of the guys back and pulled on his ear while Tae-hoon grabbed a bucket and placed it on the guys head. Then when he removed it, he took the opportunity of the bully's disorientated state to punch him and successfully knock him down.

"Nice one!" The couple cheered sharing a high-five.

Beside them Soo-jin kicked the guy with the black and white jacket. He groaned in pain staring up at the girl as he touched his bleeding lip. "Why me again?"

"I like focusing on one thing." Soo-jin responded and kicked him again.

With a yellow tambourine, Jug-yeong hit another guy making him clutch his eye in pain. The girl stared at her hand in surprise at her action before repeating her previous action again after the guy tried standing up.

Seeing everyone was doing their own thing, Kim Ji-an didn't want to feel useless. So when one of the bullies tried coming at her, she grabbed a random pillow and hit the guy in the face before lifting her leg and kicking him on his manhood. The guy let out a loud cry of pain and fell to the floor groaning.

The last remaining bully was hit on the face with a book by Seo-jun and then Su-ho took a hold of him, punching him and slamming him down on the table successfully ending the fight. Ji-an sat back on the couch letting out a heavy sigh before turning to her friends with a grin.

"How about we go eat something?"

Convincing them to go get food was actually easier than Kim Ji-an had anticipated. The fight had taken a toll on everyone and not even Lee Su-ho could say no to food. So, here they all were sitting on a booth table inside the closest Mc Donald's while eating their respective orders. Ji-an was currently sitting right in between Han Seo-jun and Lee Su-ho because neither wanted to have her out of their sight. At first she found it endearing but it was quick to turn bothersome, although she could look past it. Not only did she have food but she didn't even have to pay for her meal given Seo-jun as her boyfriend wouldn't let her pay.

"Did you see how I jumped on that guys back?" Soo-ah asked and took a sip of her drink. "I felt so badass."

Tae-hoon let out a sound of agreement trying to say something but his words were unclear as his mouth was too full of food. The whole table frown at him until he was able to swallow the food and speak. "You were badass! And the way we took him down by working together was amazing. We are literally the avengers."

Ji-an smiled at his words as she ate her nuggets. It was hard to be truly comfortable when she could feel the stare of both Su-ho and Seo-jun on her. She knew Seo-jun was just acting clingy and overly protective because of their fake relationship but Su-ho on the other hand had no reason to act that way. Which proved yet again that he had lied when he said he had no feelings for her. Meaning her plan was actually working.

"I'm actually curious as to how you guys found me." Ji-an asked, directing her words to her friends. "Specially you, Jug-yeong. You were still at Seo-jun's house when I left. Your dad was even supposed to pick you up, how did you end up arriving with them?"

Su-ho tensed up beside Ji-an after she mentioned being at Seo-jun's house. Were they really dating? They did kiss in front of him that night but it was still hard to believe. Certainly, Su-ho knew how Ji-an acted when she was in love and he did not see that when he saw her with Seo-jun.

"I was already with my dad when Soo-ah called me and told me you were in trouble, so I told him if he could pick them up and take us to where you were. Of course, he didn't know that you were actually kidnapped. If he knew he wouldn't have let us go alone." Jug-yeong finished explaining and ate a handful of fries. It made Ji-an happy to see her be so comfortable. She could still remember when the poor girl was trying to imitate her way of eating to seem more likable.

"You guys actually care about me. Thank you." Ji-an smiled feeling her eyes water a bit, suddenly feeling sad when she remembered the way her family treated her. Here her friends were showing how much they truly cared about her, more than her own blood. It was also bittersweet as she remembered her failed friendship with Han Seo-jun. For so long, she's felt like none of her friendships were genuine that maybe they were only pretending to like her, but now she was sure that wasn't the case.

"We'll always be here for you, Ji-an." Soo-jin returned the smiled. "I will break as many noses as I have to break if it means I'm making sure you're okay."

The rest of the table nodded in agreement and Ji-an felt like crying, but she was not about to ruin the moment by making it sad, so she pushed away her tears and tried changing the subject. "It's hot in here." She complained and took off her jacket not noticing the red spots on her forearms. "They need to turn that AC on."

"Are those bruises?" Su-ho asked moving closer towards her to take a hold of her left arm. His finger pads softly brushed against her skin afraid he would hurt her. He looked extremely concerned and it made Ji-an feel butterflies.

"Sweetheart, didn't you say they didn't hurt you?" Seo-jun asked as he inspected her other arm. It was clearly bruising and the fact that it was caused by his stupid actions angered him. This was all because they wanted to take revenge on him.

"Guys, I'm fine. Seriously." The girl reassured. And it was true. What Sung-yong and his gang did was nothing to what she had already gone through.

"That doesn't look fine, Ji-an." Soo-ah said, both her and Tae-hoon looking at their friend with worry. Jug-yeong was also frowning, not liking the sight at all.

"You just got back into modeling." Soo-jin reminded. "You know how strict they are about that stuff."

Looking down at her arms, Ji-an sighed, "I didn't think of that."

Su-ho clenched his fist underneath the table. He couldn't take it anymore. Slowly, he let go off Ji-an's arm and shifted his attention to Seo-jun. "This is all because of you Han Seo-jun."

"You think I don't know that?" Seo-jun acknowledged, also letting go of Ji-an.

"If you hadn't been messing around with the wrong people, Ji-an wouldn't have been kidnapped." Su-ho said staring at Seo-jun with a look that could kill. The whole atmosphere on the booth turn tense and they even started gaining the attention of the other tables close to them.

"Can you two please not do this right now?" Ji-an said looking sternly at the two of them. "I had enough fighting for today and I really don't feel like getting kicked out of a Mc Donald's, out of all places. So let's just finish eating peacefully with no more arguments."

"Fine." The two boys said leaning back on their spots.

"Good boys." Ji-an grinned patting their shoulders. "Who wants a nugget?"

Kim Ji-an let out a sigh as she walked, side by side with Han Seo-jun. It was a pretty night, so they decided to walk instead of taking the bus back to Ji-an's house. Usually, Kim Ji-an wouldn't mind it, but with how much she had gone through that day, the sound of reuniting with her bed sounded more than perfect. After eating, they all had parted ways, leaving Seo-jun and Ji-an alone. Lee Su-ho had been more hesitant about leaving Ji-an, physically and vocally expressing his discomfort, and she honestly would've liked going with him, but she couldn't ruin the front of her lovely relationship with Seo-jun.

"How are you feeling?" Han Seo-jun asked making Ji-an turned her head to look up at him.

She furrowed her eyebrows not understanding his question. "I'm okay. I feel like I've said that a hundred times already."

The taller boy shook his head. "That's why I'm asking. Are you really okay? You don't have to lie."

"I swear I'm fine," Ji-an whined, brushing a hand through her hair. "We are alone now. There's no need for you to pretend to care. You did a good job in front of Su-ho and I appreciate it, but he's not here anymore. So please just stop."

Han Seo-jun felt his heart drop at her words. Did she really believe he didn't care about her? Yeah, he knew he messed up in the past and he couldn't even forgive himself for it, but did she seriously believe that? He was not pretending in front of Su-ho and he was not pretending now. "Look, Sung-yong took you because of me. Even if you don't believe me, I do feel guilty for what happened. I'm just trying to make sure you're okay."

"And thank you. But you don't have to." She said, kicking a rock that was on the pavement as she walked. "I told you before that I want us to be honest with each other. Which is why I don't want you doing stuff for me just because you feel guilty. We are already pretending in front of the whole school, let's not pretend in front of each other too. You've already done it in the past, so don't do it again now."

Han Seo-jun placed his hands in his pockets, feeling worse than he had moments before. He knew Ji-an wouldn't believe him and he couldn't blame her, but he could at least try. With one of his hands, he took her wrist, stopping her from continuing walking. "I'm not pretending, sweetheart. As unbelievable as it may sound to you, I do care about you. I've always cared about you."

Ji-an mouth fell open not believing what her ears just heard. She held eye contact with Seo-jun, seeing his serious expression. "I gotta give it to you, Han Seo-jun. You're getting better at the lying game. Good job, but you're not fooling me that easily." She removed her wrist from his hand and resumed walking, this time at a much faster pace after seeing her house come into view.

Seo-jun chased after her. "I'm not lying, Ji-an! You have to believe me."

The girl let out a chuckle. "You're dumb if you seriously think I'll believe you just because you said so. It's not that easy, Han Seo-jun."

"Fine, I'll just have to prove it to you from now on." He stated, finally done with having to act as if he didn't care about what happens to her and her life. He already hurt her enough just because he was scared of what he was feeling. He could see it all over her face when she expressed her surprise at her friends caring about her. It was time to make it up to her and regain her trust.

"Han Seo-jun, I've had enough things going on today." She said as they both got closer to the gates of her house. "Your words are literally making my brain short circuit right now. We are both tired and it's late."

The two finally reached her house. Kim Ji-an took out her keys and opened the gate. She turned to Seo-jun. "We'll see each other soon. Goodnight and get home safe." And with that the girl went inside, leaving Seo-jun to stare after her just like the night of their first kiss.

"Goodnight, sweetheart."

Joy

I said I wouldn't take long I kept my word. New update in less than a week 🥳

Fun fact: The Mc Donald's scene was not planned at all. A lot of the time, I just let myself flow and change some stuff that I had originally planned. The funny thing is I always think I won't be able to do it because I'm stuck thinking of what I could possibly write but once I actually try it the words just flow and the scene ends up being longer than I ever expected.

I can for sure know some of you lost it in that last scene. Maybe thought he was about to confess? Cause that's not happening any time soon 🥴

Do you all get Ji-an's personality? Idk I feel like maybe I'm not consistent with it?

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

I still remember when I made this edit. I couldn't wait to write this chapter and the time finally came!!! This one was and still is one of my fav edits. I really had to put some work into that to make it match.

Anyways, see you next time! ❤️❤️
