[SEASON FOUR: EPISODE SEVEN]
[PART TWO]

"There. What did we learn?" Terry asked after Kenny and Robby had sparred with each other. He managed to catch him off guard, landing a surprise low kick to his legs, causing him to fall down on the mat.

"The common belief is you shouldn't car what other people think about you, right?"

"Wrong. What your opponent is thinking is key. In war. In business. In a fight. Don't let your opponent think whatever they want. Make them think what you want them to think. If they think you're weak, that's when you can surprise with your new found strength."

"Good job." Sliver complimented the boy before stepping back over to Kreese.

"You owe me some brewskis, brother."

Later in the day, Elizabeth and Johnny had set up a special family dinner at her apartment. They were sitting down in the kitchen table, waiting patiently for her son to arrive home.

"Why is he so late?"

"I'm sure it's fine." The blonde man reassured her.

"I'm gonna kill him when he gets here."

"Maybe I should go." He insisted, and she looked completely confused.

"What? No. I need you to have my back in this."

"When my mom's boyfriends tried to discipline me, I didn't wanna hear it. I don't want him to think I'm an asshole."

"Johnny, things are different now." She stated, and suddenly the front door opened as Ethan stepped inside the apartment.

"Hey."

"Where have you been? You have to tell when you're gonna be home late."

"Mom, I'm so sorry. I lost track of time. It won't happen again." The boy said.

"He lost track of time." Johnny pointed out, but Elizabeth gave him a really annoyed look.

"Which is very irresponsible, and you can't worry your mom like that."

"Guys, relax. I was just out with Sam, on a date." Ethan said, shrugging his shoulders.

"See? He was hanging out with his girlfriend. I get it."

"We just want you to be safe. Right?" She asked, glancing over at the man next to her.

"Right. We want you to be safe." Senesi agreed, nodding his head.

"Alright." He replied, unsuringly.

"Always wear protection."

"What? No." Elizabeth said.

"I'm sorry, what?"

"No? No, don't wear protection." The blonde man turned around to look back at the boy.

"Johnny...."

"Uh, you let the girl decide that."

"Just stop it. Enough!" Ethan shouted angrily, getting both of their attention.

"At first, I thought it was very weird that you two were together, but I figured I would have, I don't even know, gotten over it because I wanted you to be happy with someone, but...."

"You said that nothing was gonna change. And now everything's changed. It's weird at karate practice, and even weirder here too, I'm completely over it."

And with that, Williams walked over toward his room, not even making eye contact with either one of them, hoping everything will be back to normal, or at somewhat normal.

The next day at West Valley High School, Ethan and Sam were walking through the hallway, also discussing about what had been happening the few last days.

"It's really like a whole new book destroying my life situation. Expect, I was so used to Sensei actually the same person, but this time it's just becoming more difficult to understand."

"At least you had some training to do." She stated.

"My dad spent all day with my brother. So I had to babysit the Miyagi-Dos."

"Meanwhile, Tory is gaining ground." The brunette said as a familiar face walked past them.

"Whatever my dad's plan is, it isn't working."

"Ethan, there you are. I've been looking all over for you." A voice spoke, and the two teens turned around to notice Johnny standing right behind them.

"Why are you here, exactly?"

"Field trip. You and me, let's go." He answered firmly.

"Bro, it's in the middle of a school day. I have science next period. And Iโ€”" The boy started.

"Science for nerds. Play hooky with me. I'll write you a doctor's note, used to work for me. Come on, what do you say?"

Ethan sighed and turned back around to face his girlfriend as she gave him a pleading look on her face.

"Fine."

"All right, great."

"Don't worry, I'll bring your man back in one piece." Johnny said, looking at her before walking out of the building.

"Later, Sammy." Williams gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

"See ya." She said, a smile appearing on her face.

"What's the matter, you don't like watermelon?" Johnny asked after they had made it back to their abandoned warehouse where they go training.

"No, I really like them." Ethan answered, though he thought this wasn't really a field trip, more like another weird conversation between them.

"It's just when you had me cut class, thought we'd be training for the tournament, not having any weird or awkward conversations."

"It doesn't have to be awkward." The man sighed in relief before continuing.

"Look, if I'm acting a little weird, it's only because I don't have any experience with this. Ask me anything about karate or '80s rock or Rowdy Roddy Piper, I'm your guy, but when it comes to, you know, this?"

"I guess I freaked out."

"Isn't that what happened with Robby, right? You were afraid?" The boy questioned, as Sensei nodded his head.

"Yeah."

"But I never told you why. My dad left when I was in kindergarten. I barely remember him, my mom did everything she could. Married a rich prick, thinking that would be a good idea. But it only made me miss my dad more."

"I couldn't figure out why this was all happening. You know, I fell so...." He started.

"Cheated." Ethan said.

"Yeah."

"You will ever go out and try to find him?"

"I don't even know what I'd say." Johnny stated.

"You could ask why he left, get some information from him, hear his side of the story."

"No. I don't even know where I'd begin looking for him. If I'm being honest, I'm still too afraid to find out the truth. But the point is I didn't have a male role model growing up."

"Till I met Kreese, and you know how that went. And I didn't want be like him. Or Sid. Or even my own dad. I took all that bullshit I fell from them and I put it on Robby's life. And I can never fix that." He explained to him.

"I don't wanna make that mistake again. Clearly, I don't know what the hell, I'm doing."

"Well, yeah. I mean some things are definitely gonna change with you and my mom being together." Ethan replied, letting out a little awkward laugh.

"And It feels really kinda weird to say that out loud, but.... There's also a lot of things I want to remain the same."

"Yeah, like what?"

"Like you being my teacher, duh." The teen chuckled.

"Yeah?"

"Of course!"

"Alright, you asked for it." Sensei said, getting up back on his feet and walked down the stairs. He stepped over to a box of watermelons covered with a black colt. The man removed the blanket, grabbed the metal rope, and pulled the cardboard box up into the air.

"What's up with the watermelons, this time?" The boy asked, before going down the stairs and standing next to him.

"One of the most badass kicks in all of karate is the flying tornado. I wasn't sure if you were ready for it. Since, it's a pain in the ass to master, but.... You don't mind a little pain, do you?"

"No, I don't, Sensei." Williams answered, just as someone stepped inside the building.

"Neither do I." A voice spoke, and the two turned around to see it was Sam.

"Nice place you got here, but it could definitely use a woman's touch."

"Sammy, what are you doingโ€”"

"Does your dad know you're here?" Johnny asked.

"I told him I should be learning both styles and want to practice sparring with my boyfriend. So that's what I'm gonna do." She replied, and Ethan nodded his head in agreement.

"Let's begin!"
