[SEASON SIX: EPISODE THREE]

Elizabeth stepped inside the LaRussos' kitchen with two plastic toy babies in her hands, both wearing a white karate gi. One had a blue belt and the other one had a pink belt. She sat them down on the kitchen table.

"You better be hoping for a boy this time. Raising girls is a completely nightmare."

"Wow. Thanks, mama." She commented, with a laugh.

Sam was trying to moving a flower pot by herself when Tory came over and decided to help her out. Together, they moved it out of the kitchen.

"Here. Let me help you."

"Oh, thanks."

"Never gonna get used to that." Ethan said, sounding surprised as he and Robby walked in the dining room, heading to the table.

"Better than trying to tear each other's face off."

"You got that right, bro."

Amanda went through the refrigerator, looking for any sign of cannoli, only to realize there were none left for the gender reveal party.

"Anthony, get down here!" She shouted at the top of her lungs.

"That little shit ate every last cannoli."

A few seconds later, Chozen appeared in the kitchen right in front of her.

"Sorry, Amanda-san. Had midnight snack." He apologized.

"You ate a dozen cannolis?"

"They were mini. Very small. Uh, bite-sized."

"Yeah, I know what mini is. You know just.... Take this to the living room." She handed him a tray of six glass beer bottles.

"Feel free to keep walking from there."

Toguchi stepped in the living room with the tray. Just as he sat down the tray down on the nightstand, Johnny grabbed one of the beer bottles to drink.

"Hey. Hey, those are for the party." Daniel pointed out.

"It's just one."

"Since when do you drink just one?"

"You hoping for a boy or a girl?" Chozen asked.

"Ah, either way, I'm good." Lawrence shrugged his shoulders in response.

"Took me a bit, but I'm a pro with boys, and girls are easy."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Johnny."

"Whatever. Chicks dig me."

"Good luck." The Japanese man stated while laughing, before walking back to the kitchen.

Just as he walked away, someone started knocking on the front door.

"Who's 30 minutes early?" LaRusso asked, going to the door to investigate. When he opened the door, the only thing that was left a big cardboard box. He picked up the box and brought it over to Johnny to see if he could help him find out what was inside.

"Who was it?"

"Nobody there. Just this." He held the box in his hand as it started ticking.

"Wait. You hear that?"

"Is it.... Ticking?"

"Kreese."

"Come on. You think Kreese would walk into a FedEx Kindo's with a bomb?"

"He did let a live cobra loose in your dealership." The blonde man reminded him, recalling the time his former Sensei had actually released a big snake in his old rival's dealership.

"I heard you never caught the damn thing."

"The wrangler said that was probโ€”That's not the point."

"What about Sliver? I can see him pulling a Unabomber move like this."

Daniel went to set the cardboard box down on the floor but was stopped.

"Don't move it. It could be a dead man's switch. Remember Murtaugh on the crapper in Lethal Weapon 2?"

"The key is staying completely and totally.... Still."

Chozen came back to the kitchen table where everyone else was. He had a tray full of pastries in his hands and showed it to them.

"I have rearranged pastries. Tray is now balanced."

Suddenly, a loud explosion erupted from the living room area, and everyone turned their heads to see what happened. Elizabeth sighed in relief when she noticed Johnny, who had pink ink on his shirt, was alright and he walked up to her.

"Aw, the package came early."

"Guess it's a girl."

"I can't wait to meet her. And for her to meet her dad." She laughed in excitement as she pulled him into a hug.

"I'm a girl dad. Y'all are girl brothers." Lawrence said, pulling Ethan and Robby into a big fatherly embrace.

"Where's Daniel?" Amanda questioned, noticing her husband was not with him.

"Oh, yeah, uh...."

The blonde man turned around just as Daniel walked in the kitchen with the same cardboard box in his hands. But now, he had pink ink all over his shirt and face. Everyone started laughing at the expression on his face.

"I told him not to move."

"I'm too old for this shit." LaRusso joked, shaking his head in disbelief as the laughter continued.

A few hours later, over at Miyagi-Do, everyone was in their white karate gi, training for whatever lesson their Senseis had in store for them. Sam and Tory were up on the balcony, both of them preforming kata together. Johnny walked over to them and decided to take things to the next level.

"All right, all right. You got the kata down. Let's see you use it."

"Fighting positions."

The two girls bowed to each other before getting into a fighting stance.

"Ready? Fight!"

They just stood there for a second, not wanting to hurt one another, as Nichols sent a lousy kick followed by a weak punch to her opponent, which was blocked. The two just didn't want to fight.

"Come on, fight." Johnny instructed, noticing the two were barely touching each other. The brunette threw a high kick in the air, purposely missing the enemy.

"What is this, Ice Capades? That's enough. Fighting stance."

"Twenty-five reverse punches. Ready?"

"Yes, Sensei." She replied as the two turned toward him and got into a fighting stance before throwing some punches in the air.

"Begin."

"Your girlfriends are broken." Devon pointed out, turning her head to look at both Ethan and Robby, who were standing behind her.

"What the hell did you guys do?"

"We didn't do anything." Keene shrugged his shoulders in response.

"They're just friends now."

"He's right. They went from being at war with each other to being friends." Williams nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, piece of crap fighting."

Lee decided to walk up to Sensei, wanting to discuss the situation with the girls and how it might affect them in the tournament.

"Sensei, I get that Miyagi-Do is about avoiding conflict, but if they're not gonna go hard during training, how are they gonna lead us to victory at the tournament?"

"They're not. They're gonna get their asses kicked." He replied.

Daniel and Amanda opened the dual wooden doors to the backyard and looked around at all of the students training together.

"Love the smell of karate in the afternoon."

"I think that's pond scum." She said, as he chuckled in relief.

"Hey." Johnny greeted, walking up to them both.

"Hey."

"Your daughter's a pussy now. So is Nichols. Last I checked, Miyagi-Do doesn't mean fighting like a couple of girls. You know what I'm saying."

"Sure." Amanda spoke, looking a bit uneasy by what he just said about her daughter.

"I thought you said girls were easy." LaRusso remarked.

"They are."

"Okay, then, girl dad. Work your magic." He said, as the two of them walked back inside the house. The blonde man turned back around, and spotted Devon in the corner with a group of students.

"Lee. Call your dad. Tell him you're having people over tonight."

Daniel sighed, picking up a box of Mr. Miyagi's belongings as he cleaned out the room so Chozen could stay in the guest room for the time being.

"I wish you could see this, Mr. Miyagi. A whole dojo full of kids learning your lessons."

He looked down at an old picture of himself and his old Sensei before sitting the photo in the box.

"Need new mattress." Toguchi sighed softly, making the bed squeaky.

"Tempur-Pedic. Very comfy."

A moment later, Amanda came in the house with Ethan right behind her, thinking they could use his help.

"Almost finished? I brought Ethan just in case you needed help."

"Mr. LaRusso, you going through Mr. Miyagi's stuff?"

"Yeah. Still feels weird to box up his stuff, but if anyone's gonna move in, I'm glad it's Chozen."

"Uh, cellular signal not good." Chozen held his phone up, trying to get a signal.

"Uh, did Miyagi-san run fiber optic Internet?"

"It's a little rustic, sure, but it's just temporary till you go back to Okinawa after the tournament, right?"

"Uh, not going back to Okinawa. Come. Help me with bed."

The Japanese man stood at the end of the bed, while Daniel was at the front, and Williams in the middle. Together they all moved the bed, revealing a small compartment underneath the mattress.

"What's that?"

He pulled on the lever and removed the top, revealing large black box inside, before getting rid of the spider webs.

"This belong to Miyagi-san?"

"It must be his. He.... He built the place." LaRusso replied, pulling the box out from the floor and setting it down on the bed.

"Mr. Miyagi kept this hidden, so opening it would be an invasion of privacy. Right?"

"Are you kidding? We have to open it. The curiosity might actually kill me."

"Sometimes better not to have answer. Right now, anything is possible. If we open, we face truth."

"Guys, this is Mr. Miyagi we're talking about. And possibly the greatest man who ever lived. How could you not wanna open his buried treasure?" She questioned as he sighed before opening the large box.

Inside was a variety of things, including a boxing glove, a Japanese scroll, and a Chinese coin. They all pulled out different pieces and examined them each individually.

"Mr. Miyagi was a boxer?"

"From China."

"There must be some amazing stories behind all of this stuff."

Ethan grabbed a small newspaper article from inside the box and began reading it.

"Hm. May 3rd, 1947. 'Police are searching for the culprit in a violent robbery and assault. Jim Watkins of Lodi was hospitalized after a severe beating and the theft of a valuable necklace. He identified his attacker as Keisuke Miyagi'."

"Keisuke Miyagi?"

"Miyagi-san had brother?"

"Not that I know of." Daniel replied and shook his head in confusion.

Chozen pulled out a small book that had an old photo of Mr. Miyagi, along with a fake name and a street address from seventy years ago. He showed it to the man next to him.

"Look."

"That's Mr. Miyagi, but the name is wrong. And he was born in 1924, not 1918."

"My mom says she's 71, but she's really 73. People lie about their age all the time." Amanda stated, before looking at the book and saw a street address.

"691 Hill Street. If Mr. Miyagi did live there, maybe we can go find some answers."

After they found the location of the street address listed on the fake ID, where Mr. Miyagi was 'supposedly' before the events of World War II, which led them to a local gym, they wanted to get some answers on the questionable facts.

"I feel like an old-time PI. Wish I had a fedora."

"I have trench coat."

"All we have is an address on a fake ID from, like, 70 years ago. No one around here is gonna know anything."

"When I looked up the address, google said this business has been around since '40s. if anyone's alive, maybe they might be able to explain all of this, it's worth a shot, guys." Ethan explained as they walked down the street to a local gym.

"Unless Miyagi-san buried secrets for a reason."

"What if I said we could sandwiches at Philippe's when we're done?" Amanda asked.

"Oh, that is big help."

The four of them stepped inside the building, where there was a boxing ring and everyone was practicing their punches on a dummy.

"Hey, we're looking for the owner." Daniel asked, hoping to find the manager behind this place.

"Screw off." The man said rudely before walking off.

"Awesome."

"Friendly place."

"I go get answers." Chozen said with a determined look on his face and walked away from them.

"You guys know, I don't think it was such a good idea bringing him along. He's been such a wild card since Kumiko didn't call him back."

"You're telling us, we kind of already knew."

"Based on the welcoming committee, maybe it's good that we have a wild card."

Daniel decided tried to make conversation with him and so he walked up to someone else.

"Hey, excuse me. Listen, I know I have the right address, but we figured if anyone knew anything...." He grabbed a newspaper article, and showed it to the man. Suddenly, someone crashed into the wall, before quickly running out the back door.

"Oi, Daniel-san, we have runner. Let's go." Toguchi said, running after the man who escaped the building.

"Wh-wh-why are we chasing? Chozen?" Daniel questioned, following behind them.

"Yeah, this one's my fault."

"Alright, I'll go after them, you stay here." Williams stated, and ran out the back door and tried to catch up.

The blonde man emerged from outside, running down the street while being chased by three other people.

"We just wanna talk!"

"I will cut across Hill Street and outflank."

"I'm with you, Sensei."

"What? We're running plays now, guys?"

Chozen and Ethan decided to cut him off by taking a short cut through Hill Street, while, LaRusso continued chasing after him.

"Slow down!"

"Make me, cop. You can't prove a damn thing."

"About what?"

Zack crashed through a fence and was thrown to the ground. He tried to throw a punch, but that was blocked. The Japanese man grabbed his opponent's arm, twisting it behind his back, making him groan in pain, while Williams held his other arm so he couldn't move. Finally, someone caught up them.

"Police brutality, man."

"You do not know meaning of brutality."

"All right, guys. Ease up. We're not the police."

They let go of the man, as he kept his fists up in front of his face.

"Hey, hey, hey. I don't know what you're up to, and we don't care. We just have some questions."

"Yeah, right, Officers."

"Listen, I'm only here because my mentor might have had some connection to your gym." Daniel explained, pulling out a newspaper article from his jacket.

"Look, I know this is a long shot, but have you ever heard any stories about or... Or know the nameโ€”"

"Miyagi." Zack interrupted him, saying the name as if he knew the man. The three guys around looked at each other shockingly and surprised.

"Miyagi."

They brought him back to the gym and sat him down on the end of the boxing ring. He held his shirt up while Chozen and Ethan wrapped a bandage around his stomach. The man groaned in relief.

"You got me good there, guys. A cheap shot to my blind side."

"Don't be baby."

"I thought you guys were the IRS. Uh, I have a different of opinion with Uncle Sam on the gym's finances." He explained.

"I'm still just trying to understand why Mr. Miyagi would be a silent partner in a boxing gym."

"He and my grandfather were bros. The way my pop-pop used to tell it, um, this gym wouldn't have been possible without Miyagi."

"But why use this as a home address? And what's with the different first name?" LaRusso asked, looking confused.

"When people have fake documents, it's usually cause they're hiding something. At least that's what I've heard."

"But Mr. Miyagi had nothing important to hide from us." Ethan spoke up.

"Then why did he flee the country?"

"Your information is wrong. Miyagi-san flee Okinawa for America." Chozen replied.

"No. Miyagi definitely flee America. Heard something about a robbery. Beat the shit out of some mope. Needed my pop-pop to help him get lost, if you know what I mean." Zack said. Daniel grabbed the same newspaper article from his jacket and showed it to him. He took the paper from him and examined it.

"Whoa. This is it. I heard he stole some pricey necklace."

"I never knew this side of him."

"Me neither."

"Look." The man handed the flyer back to LaRusso and stood up from the boxing ring.

"Your guy messed up. But don't we all sometimes?"

"Pop-Pop said he trusted Miyagi with his life. He didn't throw around that kinda praise. He was a tough old SOB. I wish I had more I could tell you guys." The blond guy patted his shoulder and walked away from them.

The three meet up back at Miyagi's house, where they found Amanda waiting for them. Daniel put the newspaper back in the black box.

"I don't know what's worse. Finding out he hurt someone or.... Never knowing the full story."

"Man at gym said Miyagi-san was good man. He was good man, Daniel-san." Chozen stated, as Ethan nodded in agreement.

"He's right, Mr. LaRusso. We all know Mr. Miyagi's a good guy. Just because a newspaper article says something different about him that doesn't mean anything. We know deep down, he's a good guy."

"Yeah, a good man who.... Committed robbery and assault." LaRusso said, before sitting down on the guest bed, as his wife sat next to him.

"That's one story out of a million."

"It's one that he kept from me, just like everything else in that box."

"We keep things from our kids, don't we? Are we ever gonna tell Sam and Anthony about Cancun?" Amanda asked, trying to lighten the mood.

"Definitely not."

"Uh, what happened in Cancun?" Toguchi asked, with a puzzled expression on his face.

"Don't worry about it, Sensei." Williams chuckled lightly.

"Look, the best we can do is make the most of the time we have the people we love while they're here."

"Yeah, I know. I know." Daniel nodded knowingly as he stood up from the bed.

"Good night, guys."

"Good night."

"I'll see ya tomorrow at the dojo."

The next morning, at the Miyagi-Do dojo, Johnny and Devon were standing on the sparring deck, while watching Tory and Sam fight it out in a friendly match. The two girls got into a fighting stance.

"Fight!"

Nichols threw a furry of punches followed by a few kicks, which the brunette blocked them before landing a kick of her own on her opponent's forearm.

"Now, that's what I'm talking about. What the hell got into them?"

"So, someone what to explain what happened between Sammy and Tory?" Ethan asked, walking up to them.

"Basically they had a breakthrough last night and I guess it took care of whatever was holding them back." Lee shrugged her shoulders.

"Remind me to never doubt you again, Sensei."

"It's like I always say. Girls are easy." The blonde man said, before turning around to watch the two girls fight.

"Hey, everybody. Gather around!" Hawk shouted, with excitement in his voice. Everyone around him, as Eli held up a iPad to show the rest of the students and Sensei's what the announcement for the Sekai Taikai was being held at.

"All right. Who's ready to find out where we're going for the Sekai Taikai?" He pressed play on the screen as the video started playing.

"Congratulations on your admission to the Sekai Taikai. We're excited to finally announce the host city for this year's competition. Martial arts has always had a rich history in the East. And the Sekai Taikai was held many tournaments throughout Asia." Gunther explained before continuing to explain the announcement.

"But in recent years, European teams shaken up the competition landscape, bringing a whole new style to the event. Within that region, there's one nation that has continued to stand tall amongst the pack for its growth and dominance in both junior and senior competitions. It gives me great pleasure to announce this year's Sekai Taikai will be held in Barcelona, Spain."

Everyone started cheering, some gasped in excitement as the video continued.

"As you prepare for your journey, we'll also present the rules of registration. We intend to test your dojo's quality, not quantity, and each dojo must select six fighters to compete."

"Wait, six?" Eli asked, with a confused look on his face.

"These six fighters will participate in team events, with one boy and one girl serving as captains to enter into the individual competitions, which will be televised around the world. We wish a hearty bona sort to all competitors, and we look forward to seeing you in Barcelona."

The video ended, and everyone had looks of excitement and concern look on their faces.

"What exactly does that mean?" Robby asked.

"That means we don't all get to go to Barcelona, bro." Ethan replied, placing a hand on his brother's shoulder.
