[SEASON FIVE: EPISODE SEVEN]

Currently, all of Johnny's and Daniel's students was at Miyagi Do, preparing for their first official lesson since the All Valley tournament.

"I don't know about this, Sam. I mean Kenny's been training a lot longer than me. I don't think I can catch up."

"I know you're still upset. After what happened at the mall."

"Kids are calling me shithead."

"We're all dealing with Cobra Kai. You're not alone."

"So, you and Sam back in the dojo. Game on, right?" Hawk asked, as he, Demetri, and Williams stretched out their arms and legs, obviously being prepared for whatever lesson they were about to thrown into today.

"Well, I mean game on for karate only." Ethan replied.

"Come on. I see you staring at her."

"I thought you decided to keep things platonic?"

"Yeah, well, she did. He didn't."

"Well, uh, you know what they say, 'Put a box of matches near some fireworks, soon enough...'." The lengthy boy started, before imitating an explosion sound.

"'Sparks will fly'."

"Is that really what they say or did you just made that up?"

"Something tells me it's going to be like the Fourth of July." He pointed out, as Robby who started walking towards Sam.

"Can't believe that piece of shit's on our team." Eli commented.

"Alright. Relax. Okay? He wants exactly what we want. Everything's gonna be fine." Williams reassured them. But before anyone could respond, Sensei Chozen whistled loudly, grabbing the attention of all the students.

"Line up!"

"So where are my dad and Johnny?" Sam questioned.

"Not here. Today, you train with me."

The man started to speak in Japanese, but no one understood what he was saying. Eventually he told them to bow, which they did in a matter of seconds.

"Cobra Kai gaining ground. We must prepare. Come."

He had led the group over onto the sparing deck, where he was gonna explain what they were doing for the day.

"Now we learn about Yanbaru Kuina."

"What is that? Like some top secret karate move? Like a throat rip?" Chris commented.

"No. It is bird. In English called Okinawa rail. Endangered. Cannot fly."

"Hence, endangered."

Chozen pulled out a bag, revealing a bunch of eggs. Ethan raised his eyebrow, curious about where all of this was heading.

"Wait, are these the real eggs?"

"No. Trader Joe's. 3.29. Take egg."

Sam walked forward and took a couple of eggs before handing one over to Demetri, Eli, and Williams who accepted them with grateful looks.

"Yanbaru Kuina must protect egg." Chozen
explained.

"From Kume Shima habu. Poison snake. Protect egg like Yanbaru Kuina. You must do same."

"Begin your preparation." He stated, then turned the hourglass upside down.

"What are we protecting them from?" Robby questioned.

"Me." The man pointed out, waving his arms to indicate the weapons around him.

"Go! Go!"

Ethan and Sam shared a look before everyone separated and began setting up their own preparations.

"Put it behind your back. Leaves your hands free to defend." She stated, as she strapped her backpack around her shoulders.

"But I don't know how to use my hands yet."

"Dad didn't teach you wax-on-wax-off?"

"Actually, I paid a guy to wash the cars. It-It doesn't matter. I'm starting from square zero."

"Well, think of it this way. You used your mind to outwit the obstacle."

"That's what Miyagi-Dos all about." Robby approached the two, before leaning on the side of a tree.

"Hey."

"Hey." She replied.

"Deja vu having you back here."

"Like what you've done. How many times did your dad make you sand that deck?"

"Zero, actually. Because your dad brought a power sander."

"Ah, sounds like him." Keene let out a little laugh.

As she kept on giggling, Ethan noticed and kept a sharp eye on them.

"Look at him trying to move in on her. If you want, I'll kick his ass."

"No, you don't have to worry about that. Me and Robby are good now." He reassured him.

"Besides, I'm pretty sure they're just catching up."

Chozen whistled loudly, signaling to everyone that it was now officially time for the survival training session to begin.

"Looks like the Hunger Games have begun."

"Luckily, I have egg-ecuted the perfect plan. When I win, everyone will have egg on their face. They're be shell-shocked. And hopefully, the yolk will—"

"Okay, we get it. What's your plan?" Hawk interrupted his friend's explanation.

"I'm glad you asked. I have created a protective covering. I made it out of my college prep book for blunt force impact, and I tied the whole thing together with an old spool of dental floss and.... My left shoelace."

"Yep. It's pretty durable."

He sat his egg on a tree post before a knife was thrown through the center, crushing the egg inside.

"Holy shit!"

Ethan and Eli quickly ran away from him as Chozen successfully took out Chris, Mitch, Nate, and Bert.

Meanwhile, Robby buried his egg in the dirt, but as he turned around, the man was standing right behind him, spear in his hands.

He strike his weapon into the ground, cracking the egg. Then he moved on and took out Hawk and Anthony, leaving Sam and Williams as the last two people standing.

"Easy, easy. Put down your fists. It's just me." Ethan said, entering the house. Sam let out a sigh and slowly put her fists down, while still holding onto her egg.

"Sorry. Um, I think.... I think we're the last two left."

"I guess so."

"Where's your egg?"

"In my back pocket."

"Your 'back pocket'?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"That doesn't seem like the most safest place."

"I mean, yeah. But what's he gonna do, stab me in the butt?"

Sam giggled at that, appreciating his stupid yet hilarious jokes. He laughed as well before clearing his throat.

"So, looks like you're back into karate?"

"Yeah. I'm just as surprised as you are. I think I just needed to remember what these lessons are really for." She stated.

"And now, I'm finally starting to feel balanced again."

"That's amazing. I'm really happy for you."

"And, not gonna lie, at first, the whole friends thing was a little weird, you know? We have so many other things going on. There's no need for any extra complications."

"Honestly, I think us not being together really helped me and Robby get along again, so thanks."

"I'm really glad you two are friends again."

"What the—"

Suddenly Chozen came in, kicking Williams down to the ground. As his egg rolled away from him, the boy preformed a backflip before grabbing it. Sam watched in shock as they were quite literally fighting over an egg.

Before he could attack Sam, Ethan immediately jumped in the way, shoving him harshly and throwing his egg at him.

"Crap!" He shouted, realizing what just happened. The brunette was out as well, and now the two were back on the sparring deck along with everyone else.

"You are not good Yanbaru Kuina. Snakes will take you down one by one. I have tried to tell you what you must do."

"But you do not listen. You must learn to adapt. Or soon, you will be extinct. Take new eggs. Try again." Chozen ordered, as Sam took the carton of eggs and walked over towards the group, handing an egg to everyone.

"Sensei Toguchis real cryptic, like Mr.LaRusso, but aggressive like Sensei Lawrence." Demetri stated.

"It's like the hardest part of both styles." Chris pointed out.

"Can't wait to get our asses kicked again."

Everyone had started to walk off before Anthony called them back over.

"G-Guys, uh, wait. He said that the snakes will take us down one by one. Right? Just like he took us down one by one, but.... but what if we weren't a bunch of ones? Like, what if we were...."

"Together."

"Yeah, exactly. Like um, a raiding party in dungeon lords."

"Right! Even if you're a level 85, you can't mount an attack on the ground realm alone."

"Exactly, you need a team. Everybody has a special role."

"The only way we win is if we work together. As one."

Anthony put all of the eggs in a big bag, and everyone stood around it, forming a circle to protect it.

"So we're sure we want to put all our eggs in one basket? You're specifically not supposed to do that."

"This is gonna work. Trust me." The boy replied, as Chozen whistled loudly.

"Oh no, oh no. Oh god." Mitch panicked.

"Get it together Penis breath."

Chozen was now running towards them, with a bo staff in his hand. He started to attack them, but this time, they were all ready for him.

Eli grabbed the stick in his hand, while Robby attempted to kick it out of the opponent's grasp. However, it didn't go as planned. He grabbed his arm and threw him towards the rest of them.

"Grab the staff!" Williams called out. Bert threw it towards him, and he caught it, spinning it around in his hands. He hit Chozens back with it, sending him stumbling forward. Sam nodded her approval before Ethan delivered a kick to his gut.

However, he snatched his back bo staff and grabbed his arm, flipping him onto the ground. Hawk and Robby rushed forward, landing multiple hits on him and attempting to get him to stand down.

Finally, Chozen stopped, and the brunette had helped Ethan up from the ground so now they were standing side by side. The man attempted to step forward to try to take the eggs, but the all kids were smarter.

"Snake concede." He bowed in front of them, making the kids cheer loudly.

"This is what we gave that Cobra Kai does not. Their movement mile wide, but only inch deep. But our moment, inch wide, but mile deep. Now that you have learned to work together, I will teach you how to master your defense."

Williams smiled proudly at this, earning a smile from Sam herself.
