ย  [SEASON TWO: EPISODE EIGHT]

Ethan and Tory sat down beside each other, in their white training gis, preforming hamstring stretches and engaging in a causal conversation about various topics.

"Hey, have you never heard of this place called the roller rink?" He asked, reaching down for his knees, while she was doing the same.

"I work there, but only on Fridays. You can come if you want." She offered, tilting her head to the side a little bit.

"Awesome. We can hang out."

"A friendly Candlelit dinner at the snack bar on my break?" Tory questioned, smirking.

"Look, there's nothing more friendly than free food and drinks."

"Free? Not for you. You gotta pay up."

"I'll try to manage." He stated, shrugging his shoulders.

"All right, but you gotta wear a costume. It's 80s night."

"Are you kidding me? I loved that time period. I call dibs on Michael Myers." Ethan said, as she shook her head.

"I don't think you can call dibs on that." Tory snickered. Then, the front door of the dojo opened up, to reveal a familiar red mohawk boy walking in.

"One moment." The boy said, patting her shoulder. He stood up, and stepped over to Hawk.

"What's up?"

"About what happened at the Mall and Coyote Creek, are we still friends?" Williams asked, uncertainly.

"We were enemies for a few weeks, but Cobra Kai for life." He stated. They clapped their hands together and pulled each other in a hug.

"Everyone fall in!" Johnny shouted, walking towards the front of the room.

Everyone scrambled up to their feet and went to their usual positions. Ethan looked at Tory with a smile on his face, and she scrunched her nose at him. They were standing next to each other.

"Today, we'll be learning one of the most important lesson a Cobra Kai could never know." Sensei said, as the students looked around for Kreese.

"Where's Sensei Kreese?" Hawk asked, when he noticed there was no sign of him, although some of the kids were relieved that the old man was nowhere to be seen.

"Shouldn't we wait for the sensei emeritus before we get going?" Stringray butted in, his eyes landing on Johnny.

"Or not."

"Sensei Kreese will no longer be joining us." He said flatly, and Williams noticed some of the other students glanced at each other in an unsure manner.

"I made a promise when I became your Sensei. To always look out for your best interests. Despite how hard this maybe for all of us, he didn't have our best interests at heart. John Kresse may have founded Cobra Kai, but he has no longer represents what this dojo stands for. His Cobra Kai was old, outdated. He refused to move forward, and what happens when we do that, Mr. Williams?" He asked, getting his attention.

"You get struck like cement." Ethan answered.

"Exactly. To be a great fighter, you've gotta learn to adapt. This creed on the wall. Caused that's just black paint on a white wall. But life's not black and white. More often, than not it's gray. And in those little gray areas Johnny Lawrence's Cobra Kai sometimes will show mercy." Johnny stated, looking at the wall where the sentence 'STRIKE FIRST STRIKE HARD NO MERCY' was painted in big bold letters.

"Doesn't mean you can't be a badass. It's still a requirement. But you have to learn to think, not with just your gut or your fits, but really to use this." Sensei made it clear, pointing upwards to his forehead. He then walked over to the table.

"Which leads me to today's lesson. Head butting. Grabbed a partner." The blonde said, and held up a piece of wood and smashing it against his forehead. The students nodded in agreement.

Ethan stepped inside the store room and found Johnny fiddling with something in his hand.

"Sensei?"

"Just tuck in your chin and aim for the nose with the crown of your head. It's not hard." Sensei stated nonchalantly, going back to whatever it was he was doing.

"It's has nothing to do with the lesson, I'm pretty sure I've got it right. It's really about Kresse." He chuckled.

"What about him?"

"Look, I know he's your 'friend', but if you ever wanna talk I'm here." Ethan said carefully, shrugging his shoulders.

"You don't have to worry about me. Besides, you should really be focused on that girlfriend of yours." Johnny stated, glancing outside the storeroom, as a cheeky grin appeared on the boy's face.

"She's not my girlfriend, just a friend, seriously."

"I'm not blind. Just don't get distracted." Sensei retorted, walking up closer to him.

"Yeah. Totally."

"You can play 'hide the plantain' on your time. But in class, I need you focus."

"Yes, Sensei. But what about you? Do you have any....."

"Don't worry about me, all right? I'll do just fine." Johnny said, although he really wasn't okay and couldn't exactly tell him that he liked his mother.

"Yeah, if that's what you want. I could set up you on this cool app. And that's how my mom found her boyfriend." Ethan offered, then a small smile appeared on his face.

"Oh yeah? How's that going?"

"It's going good. I'll say she's has good and bad luck with guys, but ultimately with my father how he pushed her away. And that's why we ended up here. It's so nice to see her happy." He replied, nodding his head.

"That's good, I'm glad to hear that." Sensei said, turned away from him, and placed some random thing on the shelf. Not a second later, he turned back around to face him.

"So, all right. What's the deal with this app thing?"

Ethan and Johnny arrived at his apartment, then sat down on the couch, waiting for the dating app to download.

"Okay, the app is done downloading." Williams grinned, glancing at the older blonde man.

"Now, what type of woman are you looking to meet?"

"Super hot babes, of course. A dumb question. So, what are you're likes?" Ethan asked, shaking his head away and keeping his eyes on at the phone.

"My likes? What am I supposed to say? Long walks on the beach? I like muscle cars, martial arts, and Iron Eagle. And the second one."

"Why aren't you writing this stuff down? Computer dating was your idea." Johnny stated, noticing that he wasn't doing anything.

"Yeah, it was my idea. But you have to take this very seriously." He said, exasperatedly.

"It used to be simple. Find a chick in a bar. Bump into her hard, but not too hard. Pretty hard. Then you buy her a beer." Sensei said, nonchalantly.

"That's bad advice."

"Tried and true, Williams. That's how the caveman did it. Caveman that's like another like, in those insurances commercials."

"I think I can fill out the rest of this for you, on my own. What about clothes? What are you gonna wear?" Ethan asked, making random gestures with his hands.

"You gonna teach me about fashion now?"

"Might as well." He added, then handed him his phone and walked over toward his closet. Johnny began fiddling around with the phone, as he lay back on the couch.

"I was thinking for your outfit, you would need a buttoned up shirt and blue distressed jeans. You got any?"

"I have old jeans if that's what you're saying." Sensei said carelessly, and kept tapping the phone.

"Hey, there's a chick on my app."

"Okay, well swipe up if you like her and we'll started setting up dates."

"This is dumb. You can't find anything about a chick from one look." Johnny grumbled, but also mentioned something about hot girls, after swiping the screen. Williams was moving his clothes around until he noticed a red leather jacket and nodded in agreement with himself.

"Hey, it is cool if I borrow this jacket?"

"Yeah, just bring it back in one piece." He said, and the boy nodded, and grabbed it from the closet, then ran to his apartment to work on his costume for '80s theme at the roller rink.

Sam and Robby were in their costumes, and stepped inside. As they walked, someone familiar was right behind them.

"I'm starving."

"Excuse me. Can we get some menus?" She asked, as the waitress turned around to face them, and it turned out to be Tory.

"Well, look who is it."

"I didn't know you worked here." Sam said, shaking her head.

"Yeah, well, not all of us get to use daddy's credit card."

"Look, we just wanted to order some food." She stated carefully, as Ethan walked up behind them, and stood next to her.

"Hey, I really wanted to wait and see if any of the french fires were done." He said, and Tory motioned her hand for him to turn around.

"Oh, hey guys. I didn't recognize you, definitely digging the outfits."

"Thanks." Sam said, awkwardly, as she nodded her head.

"Um.... Tory this is Sam, but you already knew that. And that's Robby over there." He introduced, pointing his finger over at them.

"Yeah, we've already met. Sam and I had a little run-in at the beach club."

"That's not funny, I came here to see what this place was like, not for you to bully her."

"So, wait how do you two know each other?" Robby asked.

"Ethan's in Cobra Kai." She answered.

"Figures." Sam mumbled quietly.

"What did you say?" Tory asked, stepping closer towards her.

"Don't." He demanded, holding her back.

"Nothing."

"All right, well, I got to work." She muttered, and skated away from them.

Ethan couldn't help but sighed and looked over at the couple as they rolled away.

He had these unsure feelings deep inside his gut, like he wanted to say something, but he shook away those feelings and decided to find Sam.

Williams found the girl by where the roller skates are stored and made his way to the line, standing right behind her.

"Hey, Sammy."

"What do you want?" She asked exasperatedly, barley looking at him.

"I really think both of my skates are too big. And about Tory, I didn't know that she was gonna be here. I just wanted to see what this place was like." He excused, though she didn't answer.

"I can't believe you can be friends with a girl like that." Sam snapped, almost like she was ashamed of his decisions.

"All I'm trying to do is protect you from her, she's being too aggressive and it's getting out of hand."

"I can protect myself, just fine." She snapped again, as Ethan nodded his head in agreement.

Tory's eyes landed towards their direction; her mind almost went haywire. She was very revengeful. It's always been apart of her, also her in veins.

"I get that, but some situations you can't always relay on yourself. It's better to have one more person bye you're side."

"Are you really on a date with Robby?" He asked, quickly changing the subject.

"It's not a date." Sam denied, and he looked down in amusement, making her feel a little conflicted.

"Look, I just wanted to repair our friendship, but I guess in the end, it's a loss cost." He stated, and merely shook his head, then she didn't say anything. He turned around and walked away from her.

"Oh. Hey, Robby." She said, looking up and noticing him.

"Hey." Robby said, handing her a cup of water. They started walking, as Tory came up behind Sam and pushed her down to the ground. She landed on her own butt, and a small scream escaped from her lips.

Nichols lets out an exaggeration gasp at her, as Ethan ran towards them, finding the brunette on the floor while looking over at the girl who did it.

"Tory, what the hell?" He asked angrily. Then, Sam got up and pushed her down.

"What? Me? I....." She sputtered, trying so hard to act like she was innocent. Robby immediately stood next to both of them, as the guard came over to make sure one of their workers was alright.

"Are you okay, Tory?" The man asked, helping her off the floor.

"All right, you guys are done. You're out." The older man pointed at the three of them.

"But, she's the one who started it."

"You're out!"

Sam and Robby started walking towards the exit, and he took one last look at Tory, who had a big smirk on her face.

Ethan shook his head in disbelief, then turned around to follow behind the other two. She took him back to his apartment and drove back home.
