[SEASON SIX: EPISODE FIFTEEN]

Ethan woke up from his sleep and made his way to the kitchen to grab a drink from the fridge. As he did, he noticed Johnny sitting in an armchair with Laura in his arms. Although he seemed calm, there was a look in his eyes that suggested something was on his mind.

"You good, Dad?"

"Big day tomorrow." The blonde man said, looking down at the baby, unaware that someone was trying to speak to him.

"Hey, Mr. LaRusso texted me. He said, you, him, and Chozen are gonna train for your fight with Wolf in a couple of days. Mind if I come? You might need an extra set of hands." He suggested.

"Sure."

"Alright, I'll grab my gym bag. And Laura will be fine here because my grandma will watch over her. Meet you in the van."

Meanwhile, at the Cobra Kai dojo, Daniel, Chozen, Lawrence, and even Williams were all helping him train for his upcoming fight against Wolf, which was just a few days away.

"Come on, Dad. Stay centered, keep your balance." The boy called out, watching from the sidelines.

"Shit. Damn it."

"Come at me harder."

As LaRusso and Toguchi took turns sparring with him, memories of his fight with Wolf back in Barcelona flashed through his mind, causing him to lose focus repeatedly.

"Sorry, man."

"I screwed it up. What the hell is wrong with me?"

"Come on. Harder."

"Whoa, whoa. Let's take a break."

"No. I can go on."

"Daniel-san is right. Need to conserve energy." The Chinese man stated, with a hint of concern in his voice.

"Dad, quit being stubborn and listen to them."

"I haven't even gotten started." Johnny said with a shrug, before walking over to the training dummy.

"All right. So this guy's tall. Gonna start having to work on my jump kicks. If it comes down to the wire, you get into a charging stance. I'm gonna run at him with a flying tornado."

He shifted into a charging stance and lunged forward, delivering a flying tornado kick that knocked the training dummy to the ground.

"Not bad."

"It could knock him out. But you're leaving yourself vulnerable. You might wanna hang back, let him come to you, instead of trying to win it all with one flashy kick."

"Ha. Says the guy who beat me with a flashy kick."

"Dad, the crane kick worked out well because you literally ran straight into it, no offense." Ethan pointed out, not trying to sound rude.

"You run right at Wolf, it's gonna be like running into a buzz saw."

"Yeah? I'm a buzz saw too. Get the pads. Meet me outside. You too, Williams." The blonde man said, making his way out of the dojo.

"Oh, must help him find balance."

"Yeah, good luck with that."

The two of them made their way outside with the training pads and noticed him practicing his forward strikes.

"Hi-yah! You fucker. Come on!"

Lawrence stopped what he was doing when he headed the doorbell ring and looked over to see them standing there.

"Alright, you two hold them tight. I don't wanna knock neither one of you down."

"Did you get enough sleep last night?"

"He looks like he didn't get any at all." Ethan mumbled.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Hold them up."

Daniel tossed the training pads to the ground, prompting the man to shoot at him an angry expression on his face.

"What the hell are you doing, man? Pick up the damn pads. You guys gonna help me here or not?"

"Dad, calm down." The boy said.

"You wanted Mr. LaRusso to be your sensei, didn't you? Besides, we know something's going on in that head of yours."

"So does a friend." LaRusso remained him, as Johnny exhaled his breath and began pacing around, trying to find the courage to speak what was on his mind.

"Every fight I've ever gone into, I always knew I was gonna win. Even if I lost, it didn't matter cause I knew in my heart I could've won. But Wolf, he's younger. He's stronger. No one's ever hit me harder. Ever since '84, I always wanted a do-over. And now that it's here, I feel like it's some giant set-up to label me a loser for the rest of my life." He explained.

"Sensei, you're not a loser."

"Yeah, yeah."

"You remember Rocky? Yeah. Look, I know you're a big Rocky III and VI guy. Mr. T, Drago. They're fun and all. But to me, the OG is the best, bar none."

"You remember who won? Rocky's training hard the whole movie. And in the end, what happens? He comes this close, and he loses. Does he feel bad?" Daniel asked, shaking his head and continued to speak.

"Nah. He went the distance. It felt to him, to everyone, like he won. He gets to hug the woman that he loves because when the fight is over, that's all that matters. It's the same thing with you."

"What he means, Dad. Is that no matter if you win or lose, you got your friends and family who care so much about you. That's what makes you a winner in anyone's book, including mine."

"You're pretty good at this sensei shit. So are you, Williams." Johnny pointed out, as the boy chuckled in response.

"Good. Cause break's over."

Later in the day, after a long training session the LaRusso's invited Elizabeth and Lois, Ethan over for dinner. They all sat around the kitchen table, while Johnny snoozed on the couch nearby.

"Thanks for cooking, Ma." Daniel said, as he and Amanda took their seats.

"So, Ethan, do you want to share the big news with everyone?" His mother asked, glancing over at her son, who was sitting next to Sam.

"Sure, I'd love to." He answered, as everyone's attention was on him.

"I got into San Francisco University."

"What?!"

"I did."

"Oh my gosh. That's amazing." The brunette said, before pulling him into a lovingly embrace, as they pulled away from one another.

"Good for you, Ethan."

"Wow. So.... So they saw your victory and reacted out?"

"They must have accepted me while I was fighting in the tournament. I guess it was in my bag while I was on the mat."

"They wanted him for his dedication for his hard work and character, not just his badass karate skills." Elizabeth stated.

"Thank you."

"Congratulations."

"You got what you always wanted."

"And you're getting what you wanted, Sammy. I guess we got our high school happy ending for both of us." The boy said.

"Oh. I almost forgot. I brought Samantha's graduation gift." Lucille said, reaching into her purse. She pulled out a small box and handed it to her granddaughter with a warm smile.

"You get through high school, you get a gift. That's how it works."

Sam opened the box, revealing an elegant, rolled-up necklace an heirloom that belonged to Mr. Miyagi's mother.

"Oh, wow. Grandma, that's beautiful."

"Lucille, are you sure?" Amanda asked, her voice laced with uncertainty at the unexpected revelation.

"That.... That must've cost a fortune."

"Didn't cost me a penny. Mr. Miyagi gave it to me. That's right. It belonged to his mother. When he had to leave Okinawa, his father gave it to him to sell in case he ever needed the money. Mr. Miyagi didn't sell it. It had too much sentimental value."

"So when he got married, he gave it to his wife. And during the war, she.... She passed away at Manzanar, at the internment camp. And a guard stole it. It was terrible. The guard attacked Mr. Miyagi, so he had to knock the bastard's lights out."

"I guess there's always more to the story."

"Before he passed away, he asked me to give it to Samantha when the time was right. It feels right to me." She chuckled, gently wrapping the necklace around the LaRusso girl's neck.

"There is one more present left." Daniel said as he up from the table and made his way over to the kitchen counter. He grabbed a rectangular box, and returned to the table, setting it down in front of Ethan.

"What's this?"

"A little something from me and Mr. Miyagi."

The boy unfolded it completely, revealing a Miyagi-Do sensei gi with his last name proudly stitched to back of it. His eyes widened in surprise as he glanced at the man across from him. And everyone else had a surprised look on their faces.

"This is wow, amazing. Thank you, Sensei." Williams said.

"For when you graduate from college, of course. And when you're ready to be a Sensei. I'm stepping down from being a Sensei. Miyagi-Do karate is in your hands now, Ethan."

"I won't let you down."

They exchanged a respectful bow before sitting back down at the table in their respective seats.

The next day, at the Sekai Taikai arena, everyone gathered around the bleachers to watch the final match that would determine the winner between of the tie between Cobra Kai and the Iron Dragons.

Darryl stepped up to the mat with a microphone in hand, his attention shifting toward the large crowd in front of him.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's my honor and privilege to inform you it's karate time."

Everyone erupted in cheers and applause as he continued his speech.

"Today's tie-breaking sensei match will determine which dojo wins the Sekai Taikai. And this time, we're playing by the traditional rules you know from the All Valley, where three points wins."

"First, we have the defending champions, hailing from Hong Kong, led by their sensei, the youngest fighter to ever win the Sekai Taikai. He's undefeated in seven karate circuits. He was born Feng Xiao, but you might know him better by another name. Please welcome Sensei.... Wolf and the Iron Dragons!"

Wolf and his remaining students walked out and took their place on their side of the mat. He glanced around, noticing that Sliver was missing.

"Where's Sliver?" The man asked. The person behind him simply shrugged, clearly having no idea where he was.

"And fighting to dethrone them is a dojo we all know well here in the Valley. Let's hear it for the two-time All Valley champion and his dojo. And it'sโ€”"

"Cobra Kai!" Ethan shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Well, you heard it. Please welcome the Valley's own Cobra Kai!"

Williams, Daniel, and Chozen were the first ones to step out and the crowd's reaction was immediate. The cheering grew louder, with waves of excitement filling the arena, as the students followed closely behind.

"I think I like Daniel in a black gi." Amanda pointed out.

Despite his knee injury, Robby was the first one to make it to the mat, standing tall at its edge. The others slowed their pace and joined him, all turning their attention toward the crowded bleachers.

"Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai!"

"Led by their sensei, Johnny Lawrence!"

Johnny stepped out and glanced around at the arena, soaking in the sound of the crowd cheering for him.

"Yeah!"

"Whoo!"

"Mr. Vidal. They're all yours." Darryl announced, and moved off to the side. Vidal nodded his head, taking the spot in the center of the mat.

Lawrence paced back and forth in front of his teammates, tension radiating from him with every step he took. The boy noticed this and looked confused, wanting to know what he was wrong with him.

He looked off, his shoulders were stiff and his movements seemed forced as if he was carrying the entire weight of the world on his back. The others immediately noticed this, sharing uncertain looks with each other. And Daniel, caught on to this as well.

"Hey. You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Fighters, take your positions." The man instructed as they approached the red big mat.

"I want a good, clean fight. The whole world is watching."

"Now, face me. Bow. Face each other. Bow."

They bowed toward him, then turned to bow to each other, before getting into their fighting stances.

"Ready? Fight!"

Johnny struck first, launching a furry of attacks, but Wolf blocked each one with having an evil smirk on his face.

"Is that all? Come on."

His opponent was clearly taunting him, trying to get in his head and it was working. It felt like he was falling into some sort of trap. As the fight went on, his confidence slowly started to slip away.

The two clashed again, fists flying as both of them tried to regain control of the fight. The blonde man attacked to land a hit on Feng Xiao, but he was faster, dodging every strike with precise movement.

In one swift motion, the Iron Dragon Sensei forced his enemy's hands upward, leaving him exposed. Taking advantage of this, he executed a back kick straight into his chest, making him stumble backward.

"Point, Wolf. 1-0."

"It's okay. It's okay. It's okay." Amanda reassured, noticing the look on Elizabeth's face.

"Something's wrong. I've never seen him like this. It's like he's...." Daniel trailed off, as Chozen finished his sentence.

"Afraid."

"Ready? Fight!"

Feng Xiao immediately advanced, forcing Johnny took a step back in hesitation. With a growing smirk on his face, his confidence surged, he could sense the shift and knew exactly what was happening.

"Come on, old man. Let's go."

Lawrence attempted a kick, but it lacked precision, allowing his opponent to dodge with ease. As a punch came toward him, Wolf ducked underneath it, grabbing him by the shoulder, and in one swift move, yanked him forward and hit him in the back of his head with his foot.

"Hey! What the hell was that?" Ethan called out.

"No point. Illegal contact to the back of the head."

"My mistake."

"Return." Vidal demanded, stepping in between the two men.

"Ready? Fight."

The blonde man lunged forward with a front kick and missed entirely, but continued pressing on, unleashing a flurry of punches that Wolf blocked with ease. As he closed the distance, the Iron Dragons Sensei drove his elbow into his opponent's mouth.

The crowd gasped in as he cried out in pain from the impact.

"No point. Direct elbow to the mouth. Next time, it's a one point deduction."

"Well, I'll be more careful next time, then. I promise."

The two fighters took their positions, until the referee quickly noticed that one of them was bleeding from the mouth.

"Time. You're bleeding. Go back to your corner."

Johnny made his way back to his side of the mat, a look of both exhaustion and defeat on his face.

"Oi. You must control the fight. Use angles to counter his attacks." Chozen instructed, handing him a towel. He took it and wiped his bloody lip.

"I'm trying. He's too fast. He's too strong."

"Since when have you cared about that?" Daniel questioned.

"Let go of the pressure. I told you. It doesn't matter if you win. You just do your best."

"Yeah, yeah."

Lawrence stepped back onto the mat, not registering a word he had said, too caught up in his own head.

"Ready? Fight!"

Wolf wasted no time, landing a kick followed by another, his foot colliding with his opponent's face and sending him crashing down to the mat.

"Wolf, 2-0."

"One more point, and the Iron Dragons will be crowned Sekai Taikai champions." Darryl announced, as the Cobra Kai sensei struggled to push himself up to his feet, his movements becoming sluggish. The boy tried to rush onto the mat, but Daniel and Chozen held him back.

"Come on, Dad. Fight back."

"He's way off balance. I'm not sure Miyagi-Do is gonna help."

"Then try something else. You both know how his mind works, Daniel-san. You are his sensei. Wolf wants to obliterate him. You two must do something."

"Time!" Ethan shouted, signaling with both hands.

"Time-out." Vidal nodded, accepting the request as the two fighters returned to their respective sides of the mat.

"Look, guys, there's nothing you three can say. This guy knows his shit. He's on a whole other level."

"What dojo are you fighting for?" LaRusso asked, stepping up closer to him.

"What?"

"What dojo are you fighting for?"

"Cobra Kai." Johnny answered, truthfully.

"And does defeat exist in your dojo? Does it?"

"No."

"Does fear exist in your dojo?"

"No." He replied.

"And I sure as shit know that pain doesn't exist either. So stop acting like a little pussyโ€”"

"That means show him no fucking mercy, Dad. I know you can do this." Williams interrupted him, with a look of determination on his face.

"You hear us?"

"Yes, I do."

"Fighters, take your line." The referee said, stepping in between them as they assumed their fighting stances.

"Ready? Fight!"

Lawrence rushed forward, unleashing a flurry of punches, but Wolf blocked them all, chuckling as he grabbed him back by his shoulders, stopping him from moving.

"Is all that you got?"

In response, his opponent struck back with a backward kick, sending him stumbling across the mat in surprise.

"Point!"

"Come on, Dad!" The boy cheered, as the whole crowd was clapping their hands together.

"2-1."

"Fighters, take your line. Ready? Fight!"

As the fight raged on, the two men kept battling for control, each grabbing at the other's gi, until Vidal stepped in and separated them.

"Come on, man."

"Break it up! Break it up!"

Wolf advanced and they exchanged blocks and strikes until Johnny attempted a front kick, leaving himself exposed. Feng Xiao took advantage, slamming his knee into their side as the whole crowd erupted in boos.

"No point. Knee to the side."

The Iron Dragons Sensei quickly turned around, aiming to land tornado kick, but the blonde man reacted fast, executing a hook kick that sent his enemy stumbling across backward the mat.

"Point, Lawrence."

The whole crowd erupted in applause and cheers, encouraging him to keep going.

"Yes, yes, yes!"

"Two to two."

"Whoever gets the next point will be our winner."

"This is the last point, Daniel-san, but Johnny looks tired." Chozen pointed out. Daniel nodded and quickly called a time-out.

"Hey, time!"

Vidal looked hesitant, but agreed letting them have a moment to take a breath or to cool off.

"This is your last time-out. Go to your sideline."

Johnny walked over to his teammates, standing in front of LaRusso and Toguchi.

"Any gas left in tank?"

"Enough to kick his ass."

"I like that confidence. But remember what you learned at Miyagi-Do. Trust me, you have to have balance. Be careful. This guy is pissed."

"So am I." He agreed with a nod, before walking back to his spot on the mat.

"Fighters, to your lines. Next point wins."

"No more delaying the inevitable."

"Face me. Bow. Face each other. Bow. Ready?"

The two turned toward Vidal and bowed, then turned to face each other and bowed again, before getting into their fighting stances, ready for the fight to begin.

"Fight!"

Wolf immediately spun around, raising his leg with lightning speed as he builded momentum up for a devastation final kick. Johnny saw it coming and executed a leg sweep, causing his opponent to cash down onto the mat.

He aimed a strike to the younger man's chest, but it was blocked. In retaliation, Feng Xiao swept their enemy's legs out from under him. The Cobra Kai Sensei hit the ground for a split second before preforming a kick-up, landing firmly back on his feet.

The two kept fighting until Lawrence turned his back toward the Iron Dragons Sensei, and in a quick move, he landed a backwards jab punch, in which Wolf landed on the mat once again.

"Point, Winner!"

For a moment, the arena fell into complete silence, then it erupted into thunderous cheers. His entire team shouted with joy as they rushed onto the mat to congratulate him. Ethan reached him first, with Robby close behind; they both immediately pulled Johnny into a hug.

"Holy shit, Dad! You did it!"

"You kicked his ass, Dad."

When the two let go of him, Devon ran up and leapt into his arms.

"Oh!"

"You did it, Sensei."

Daniel made his way through the others and placed his hands on the blonde man's shoulders, while stood beside them, and the three pulled into a group hug.

"Nice move. You let him come to you."

"I couldn't have done it without you. You too."

"Should we get him?" Williams asked. Hawk nodded, and together the two lifted Johnny onto their shoulders, raising him high into the air.

"That's my boy!"

"Johnny! Johnny! Johnny! Johnny!" His students and the crowd chanted in unison, their voices connecting together as they gathered around him. He let out victorious yell, throwing both his arms into the air, filled with excitement and joy.

"Let me down. I need to see my girl."

Eli and his friend sat him back on his feet, and Elizabeth immediately pulled him into a loving embrace, letting out a soft chuckle.

"My husband, the world champion."

"Where's my baby?"

Lois walked over to them with baby Laura. He gently scooped her up in his arms, his expression softening instantly.

Gunther made his way to the center of the mat, with a microphone in hand. The crowd fell silent and parted, turning their attention toward him.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I present the grand trophy to the winners of this year's Sekai Taikai. Now officially the world's number one dojo, Cobra Kai!"

The whole room erupted into cheers once more, with Ethan and the others clapped in applause. The trophy was handed out to Johnny, he nodded his head and turned toward Daniel.

"LaRusso. Get over here."

LaRusso hesitated for a second before making his way over and standing beside him. When the two men lifted it up in the air, the crowd erupted, louder than ever before.

"You're all right, Lawrence."

"Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai!"

The next day at the Cobra Kai dojo, Johnny stood at the front of the mat while Devon, Kenny, Anthony, and a new group of students stood in rows of six, waiting for their first karate lesson.

"I know for most of you, this is your first day. Honestly, it's been a while since I taught here too." He began, gesturing toward the large black letters on the wall behind him.

"The last time I was here, I was trying to come to terms with the words on this wall. I learned firsthand, if you live your whole life this way, you'll turn into an asshole. So I rejected it. But what I found out later is there is no one way. If you wanna conquer life's obstacles and be the best you can be, you need to learn more than one discipline. That's why, in addition to Cobra Kai.... You're all gonna learn Miyagi-Do."

"You're gonna be taught defense. And inner strength. From one of the best Senseis in the world. Because aggression isn't always the answer. Sometimes, patience and defense are the keys to winning. But I can't teach you that. Cause my specialty is offense."

Lawrence turned around and pointed to the words on the wall, taking a moment before explaining each one and what it stood for.

"'Strike first.' It means be aggressive. 'Strike hard'. It means give it your all. 'No mercy'. It means not being Mr. Nice Guy. It's the hardest one to understand. But the fact is, if you're too nice, the world's gonna walk all over you. A lot of you have been told your whole life that you're special. Well, that's about to change."

The blonde man began walking down the rows of students, pausing for a moment when he noticed a girl with glasses and a shy expression on her face.

"I'm talking to you, four-eyes. Good god. Take those glasses off. Get a cooler pair or get some contacts, but I never want to see those in this dojo again. Understand?"

"Yes."

"Do you understand?" He shouted, stepping up closer to her.

"Yes, Sensei!" She replied. Sensei continued walking down the first row of students, then turned right to move on to the second line before making his way back to the front of the room.

"We do not train to be merciful here. But I will bring out the best in you. Ethan Williams may be a world champion, but when he first stepped foot in this dojo, he was a total dork. All right, maybe not as bad, but the fact is, Cobra Kai turned Ethan from a beta duckling into an alpha swan."

"So it doesn't matter how much of a loser you are right now. Give it time, and I'll make a champion out of you. All that matters is you stop being weak little crybabies and start being the strongest versions of yourselves. Can you do that?"

"Yes, Sensei." They replied, though it came out as more of a whisper.

"What was that?"

"Yes, Sensei!"

"I can't hear you!"

"Yes, Sensei!" The kids yelled in unison. Just then, the doorbell rang and the door swung open, drawing everyone's attention to the person stepping inside, Ethan with a bag slung over his shoulder.

"Nice group of new students, you got here, Dad." The boy said, glancing at the newcomers. Johnny stepped closer, curious on why he was here when he was supposed to be heading to San Francisco University.

"Ethan, I thought you were supposed be heading to college?"

"I am. I just wanted to come and see how the new recruits are holding up." Williams replied, moving to stand bedside him and looking around at the new students.

"What do you think?"

"Well, they're not champion level. But with some incredible amounts of training. I think they'll do good enough."

"Hey, you anna take the lead on this one?"

"You're serious, Dad?" Ethan asked, and Lawrence nodded in response.

"Hell yeah."

He dropped his bag on the ground and walked to the front of the room, then turned around to face row of students behind him.

"Fighting positions, all of you."

They all got into a fighting stance, awaiting his command, though some of them looked a bit unsure of what he had in store for them.

A few hours later, at the All Valley airport center, Sam and her family stood in the main lobby, taking turns saying their goodbyes to her.

Amanda was the first to give her daughter one last hug before pulling away, doing her best to hold back tears.

"I just love you so much. And you call me every day. Okay? I don't care if it's in the middle of the night. Call me."

"I will." She replied.

"Every day."

"Believe it or not, I'm really gonna miss you." Anthony admitted, his hands tucked in his pockets.

"Me too. And I do have a private stash of Uncrustables hidden in the garage freezer that I was keeping from you."

"Yeah, I already, uh, ate that like six months ago."

She gave him a playful punch and pulled him into a sibling hug, while Daniel and his wife watched with heartwarming smiles on their faces.

"You're such a jerk."

"Okay, kiddo. Okay. I just wantโ€”"

"Dad, I.... I know. Don't worry. I'm gonna be safe."

"Oh, I'm not worried about that. But be safe." LaRusso said, shaking his head as the two shared a chuckle.

"Look. I know these last couple of years weren't easy for you. But you came out of it stronger than ever. Don't get me wrong, I'm always gonna be a little neurotic because it's me being me. But I'm so proud of the person you've become. And I'm just gonna miss you so much."

"I'm gonna miss you too, Dad."

"Jersey tough?" She asked, holding her fist forย  a bump.

"Valley tough."

He bumped his fist against hers, and they pulled each other into a hug. The brunette grabbed her luggage and began heading to the front desk. Just as she was just about to board her flight, a familiar voice called out to her, stopping her in her tracks.

"Sammy!"

She immediately turned around and saw Ethan, walking up to her, his backpack slung over his shoulders.

"What are you doing here?"

"This isn't the way to Okinawa, guess I must be trippin." He joked, through she still couldn't believe he was actually standing there in front of her.

"What? I thought you were driving up to San Francisco University for the summer program."

"Yeah, well, they postponed me. That means I can reach out to them in a couple weeks or so." The boy stated, taking a deep breath before continuing.

"And when before I came here. I couldn't stop thinking about how we never had the opportunity to explore Barcelona together, so I decided that I could help you get settled in. Look, I.... I know it's hella crazy, and we're heading our own separate ways soon, but...."

"Soon can wait a little longer." Sam said, finishing what he was doing to say and they pulled each other into a hug, while she giggled happily.

"Fuck yeah."

When they pulled away, Williams noticed she wasn't wearing Mr. Miyagi's mother's necklace instead, she was wearing the one he had given her.

"You're not wearing Miyagi's necklace."

"What? Oh. Uh, yeah, that's one's in my bag. I just.... I had another one that I really wanted to wear today."

"Come here, you." Ethan said, pulling her close. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they shared a kiss, both knowing that no matter where in the world they were, their love would always stay with them.
