[SEASON ONE: EPISODE THREE]

A few days later, Ethan was at the dojo again, punching the dummy, while Johnny was handing some paperwork. There were a lot of bills that were very overdue, and he was feeling the immense pressure to find some more students.

"Shit."

"Hey, you don't happen to have any friends that wanna learn Karate, do you?" Johnny asked, before answering his own question.

"Aw, who am I kidding, you don't have any friends."

Williams idn't seem to bothered by that at all, because he kept punching the dummy.

"Sensei, when am I gonna learn some kicking? I saw this YouTube video of a guy breaking some boards, and it looked badass."

"Yeah, no shit. Kicking is badass. But you're not ready. Besides if I don't get more students, then I won't be able to teach you anything."

"Have you ever thought about adverting?"

"Yeah, duh." Johnny said, making it seem like he knew what he was talking about.

The next day at school, there was a big announcement in the lunchroom, where the principal stood in the center. Besides nobody, would give a care in the world to listen to Miss Counselor Blatt.

"Cyber bullying is no laughing matter. Sending a cruel message to someone online can be just as hurtful as saying it to their faces."

The group of three were sitting down at their usual round table, listening intently to the woman, standing in the cafeteria.

"Now, I'm not gonna call out names, but
the other day, a mother called me up because her son was crying after some kids made fun of his facial deformity."

It was blatantly obvious that she was talking about Eli, as everyone, minus a few pointed in his direction. He tried his best to covered up the scarred lip with one of his hand. Williams quickly send them, dead looks, before turning his attention back to the counselor.

"But today, our goal is to make this school a safe place for everyone."

"Guys, If you're sick of getting bullied, my dojo's been looking for recruits."

"Yeah, right. You hear that, Eli? A karate training, and you're gonna kick some major ass." He said, sarcastically.

"Dude, I'm serious. My Sensei's the real deal. And I'm sure, I could even get you discounts." Ethan said, glancing between him and Eli, who weren't buying it.

"As enticing as that sounds, I think we'd rather spend our afternoons playing Crucible Control than getting hit in the face."

"One last thing. While we're all looking forward to the Halloween dance. Let's make sure our costumes are very culturally sensitive. For example, instead of Sexy Nurse maybe try gender neutral hospital employee."

Ethan slightly glanced over at the table, Sam was sitting at. She was giggling at something on her phone. He immediately started blushing and got lost in those blue beautiful eyes, but as always Demteri had to interject.

"So, what are we gonna hear to the dance?"

As the boys were talking about their costumes for the Halloween dance, he could nearly hear a conversation between Aisha and Sam.

"I've got a great idea for our costumes."

"Um...." She started.

"I was thinking I go as sodium, you go as chlorine, and when people ask what we are." Aisha said, grabbing a salt shaker and poured it around the table.

"We do this."

"What is that? Some dumb inside joke you guys have?" Yasmine asked, rolling her eyes.

"It's not really inside. Sodium chloride is a table salt."

"We actually decided to go as laker girls. But maybe we can order another one." She said, to Aisha's disappointment, making her frown at her words.

"They're one size fits all. Which suddenly seems like advertising." The blonde spoke, as the other girls laughed.

Hours passed since school started; Ethan was in study hall alone, and working on some math homework, unit he came up with an idea. Where he would make a website, hopefully to get more students. For rest of the class, the boy created a website mainly for the dojo.

Then, he walked up towards the building, and leaned up against the wall, waiting patiently for Johnny to arrive.

"Hey, Sensei, you told me to be here at five, right?"

"Yeah, but today's training is canceled." He said, causing the boy to frown his eyebrows in confusion.

"Wait, your serious?"

"Because I said so." Sensei said, before stepping inside the dojo, and made his way towards his office.

"Sensei, there's I've been meaning to show you."

"Look, I'm really not in the mood." He said, and grabbed a beer from the mini fridge.

"But I think you're really like it." The boy suggested, placed the laptop down on Johnny's desk and opened it, as he kneeled down to look at the screen.

"It's a Cobra Kai webpage. I made it while I was in study hall. Click on the snake."

"Okay, this is the sign in page. I was thinking we could made an app, where we can track your progress, and even get a social media campaign going, get it out to the whole school. The possibilities are endless!" Ethan cheered, as his phone started ringing, playing one of the songs, that the blonde told him about.

"That was my mom. I'll call her back later."

"Hey, was that just...." Johnny started, looking surprised.

"Something on the lines of Ratt, right?" The boy finished his sentence.

"Yeah."

"I went online and looked up a bunch of Guns N' Roses and ended up going on this whole 80s rock rabbit hole. This stuff is freaking crazy."

"All right. Meet me at the high school at midnight. Don't be late."

"What for?" He asked.

"You wanna learn how to kick ass? First, you gotta know how to kick."

Meanwhile, at the LaRusso's house.

"I feel bad for Aisha, but at the same time, I don't want to dress up as a molecular compound." Sam said, to her family, as all of them had sat down at the table, eating dinner together.

"I totally get it. But just because you guys aren't wearing the same costumes doesn't mean you can't hang out at the dance together." Amanda said, taking a bite of food.

"I mean, I guess so."

"Speaking of the dance, I got an email from the school. They're looking for chaperones. They seem desperate." Daniel shrugged his shoulders.

"Yeah, no kidding. Who wants to spend their Friday night in at sweaty gym?" His wife asked, snickering.

"You're off the hook. I said I'd do it." He said, and Sam dropped her fork, turning towards her father in complete shock.

"What? Come on. Counselor Blatt and I go way back, I couldn't leave her hanging."

"Mom?" She asked, turning around to face her mom, hoping for some assistance.

"Uh.... Come on, Daniel. Would you want one of your parents at your high school dance?"

"My mom drove me on dates, Okay?"

"Yeah, how'd that go?" Amanda asked, smirking at him.

"This is so not fair." Sam said, annoyingly.

"You won't notice me. I'll be a ghost." He reasoned with her.

"Ghosts are lame." Anthony said, eating all of his food.

"Just promise me you won't embarrass me." She pleaded.

"I promise." Daniel said, as the brunette sighed in disbelief.

"Sensei, what in the world are we doing here at midnight?" Ethan asked, as the two entered the high school.

"You sure we're supposed to be here?"

"Yeah, don't worry. My buddy's the midnight janitor. All right, let me see your hands." Johnny said, as the boy held out his hands, and he tied some rope around them tightly.

"What are you doing?"

"When you're in a fight, your first instinct is to use your hands, right? You gotta unlearn that and think with your legs."

"Uh.... How do I think with my legs?" Ethan asked.

"Well, you just, uh...." Johnny started, before shoving him into the pool. The boy swam back up, like he couldn't swim.

"I'm going to drown." He said, and kicked his way back up to the surface.

"Drowning is for pussies, all right? Don't be a pussy! Use your legs!"

"Please not again!"

"Cobra Kai never dies. Say it!"

"Cobra Kai never dies."

"Like your life depends on it!" Johnny shouted.

"COBRA KAI NEVER DIES!"

"I'm not gonna help you this time. You have all the power in your legs you need."

Ethan continued to kick upwards as if his life was depending on it, and technically, it really did because his hands were tied together. The boy kept kicking until he thought about breaking the wooden boards back in the dojo.

"Ten minutes!" He called out, before helping the boy out of the water.

"Hey, what the hell are doing here?" A male voice came from in the back room.

"We gotta go."

"You're not allowed in here!" The man yelled, and ran straight after the two.

"I thought you say you knew this guy." Williams said, panting also out of breathe.

"Of course not. I lied."

"RUN!" Johnny shouted, as they made their way to the exit door and ran out really fast.

"Man, I wish I could show my mom what I did with those boards, but if she knew where I was right now, she'd probably grounded me for life." The boy said, putting back on his socks and shoes.

Suddenly Johnny groaned loudly, after looking down at another bill, that needed to be paid for.

"What's the matter with you?"

"Nothing. Put your costume on. I'm driving you to that dance. We're gonna pick up more students."

"What in the hell, is that on you?" Johnny asked, glancing straight at the boy's ridiculous costume, that was reflecting off of the large mirror.

"It's my Halloween costume. My grandma made it. It really started off as Batman. Next, I think it was The Flash, and then it just kind became some genetic superhero."

"Yeah, a poor one at that. You're Poor-Man."

"Okay." Ethan said in disappointment, while looking down at his costume.

"Well, I can't let you go out like that. We have a reputation to uphold."

"Alright, What do you have in mind?" He asked, with both eyebrows raised.

A few hours later, at the Halloween dance was in full swim at West Valley High School. Sam, Yasmine, Moon and their whole friend group were dressed up as laker girls and were dancing with Kyler and the rest of the popular boys.

Ethan walked into the gym dressed up as skeleton, and replicating the same outfit Johnny wore back in October of 1984.

"Oh, skeleton, classic." Demteri said, as
the boy walked over towards him and Eli.

"Thanks. I like your sorcerer costume. Very magical."ย

"Sorcerer? Please. I'm a necromancer." He said, scoffing loudly.

"Are you like a regular doctor orโ€”"

"Plastic surgeon. I fix people's lips." The boy said, quickly.

"Nice job."

The three boys stood by the snack table for a few minutes before walking towards the bathroom.

"My very first high school dance in the books, and we didn't even do anything." Ethan sighed in disbelief.

"Well, sarcastically speaking, zero-for-zero is better than zero-for-one, is it could've been worse." Demteri said, as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Yo, it's so frustrating, man. I was about to give her this bracelet." Kyler said, his voice echoed though the bathroom stalls.

"Like that cheap one you gave to that East Valley slut?"

"It worked on her, so might as well try it again. But Sam's dad had to ruin everything." He said, as Ethan leaned over the eavesdrop to hear their conversation.

"I'm sorry, dude. You had her in the palm of your dick." The fat one said, chuckling lightly.

And unfortunately, curiosity got the best of the group, as Demteri accidentally knocked over a pair of lacrosse sticks, getting Kyler and his friends attention.

"Oh, shit!" He said, quickly running out of
the bathroom with Eli, leaving one of them behind.

"You better watch out, shithead. That bums not here to save you this time."

"He's nothing like a bum. He's my Sensei. Also, don't talk bad about Sam like that." The boy said, gritting his teeth.

"Watch out guys. shithead knows karate now!" Brucks said, as he and the others laughed, then Ethan kicked Kyler into the wall, angrily, shocking everyone.

"Grab him!" He yelled, and pushed the boy up against a wall, but the boy tried to block his opponent's attack, but someone else kicked him in the black.

"You're a dead man." He said, shutting the door behind him, and walked back to his boys, who were holding Ethan.

"Please! No, no, no!" The boy pleaded. Kyler started to beat him up with the hockey stick. He groaned in pain, as they continued to hurt him.

Johnny was glancing at a picture of a blonde girl up on the wall and in a glass cabinet. A few seconds later, Kyler, along with his friends walked out of the locker room.

"That was brutal, bro."

"Ky, you broke shithead off."

Moments after they left, he quickly walked inside the room, and looked around, until he noticed Ethan, laying down on the floor, beaten and bruised, then stared down at him in complete shock.
