[SEASON ONE: EPISODE SIX]
The next day after school, Ethan walked from school to the dojo, and once he arrived, he immediately saw a bunch of kids standing outside of the building, watching a video where he fought Kyler and his friends. Eli was even standing next to Demetri with the other kids.
"Why did I let you talk me into this? This goes against everything I stand for. It's like extra gym class for no reason."
"Let's give it a chance. You and me both saw the fight, Ethan kicked ass." Eli reasoned with him, but he wasn't too excited about it. And before anyone could say anything, Johnny stepped out of his office room.
"Okay. Today we begin...." He started, looking around to notice the new students who, kept chatting with their friends.
"QUIET!" Sensei shouted, making everyone shut their mouths, and getting their attention.
"Face front." Johnny ordered, as they did what they were told. Then, he waved his hand throughout the group of kids, making comments on their appearances.
"Nice shirt."
"Thanks." Demteri said, cheerfully.
"I'm joking. It sucks." He remarked his statement, and stepped towards a bigger kid with long brown hair and braces, who was smiling at him, while being completely emotionless.
"Word of advice. If you got shit for teeth, don't smile."
"God, makes me feel like a virgin, just looking at you." Johnny said to a smaller boy, with a purple shirt and he lowered his eyebrows in despair. Ethan felt that he was being too harsh on them, but they're just kids.
"When I look around this dojo, I don't see Cobra Kai material. I see losers, nerds. I also see a fat kid with a funny hat with his tits popping out."
"But in my short time as a sensei, I've seen some miracles." The blonde said, gesturing towards his first two students, who happily smiled at him.
"So, maybe there's some hope for you yet. But, first, I need to know where you're at. So everybody, fall in!" Johnny shouted, while the recruits whispered among themselves in confusion.
"That means line up!" He said more clearly, as they went to stand behind Aisha and Ethan.
"No, not.... Line up in a line."
"Lines! Get in lines!" The sensei yelled, and struggled to explain anything to the new students.
"You mean like in 'rows'?" Demteri asked, with a raise eyebrow.
"My god." Johnny groaned, burning his hands in his face, frustration out of his mind.
Later, outside of the LaRusso house, Sam was sitting down on a beach chair and looked at her computer, obviously checking out the Facebook account of Ethan Williams.
Then, suddenly a instagram notification popped on the screen, making the girl look confused. She opened it to reveal a photo of a girl with two or more hotdogs jammed inside her mouth. She looked at the screen sadly, and Daniel appeared outside of the Miyagi-Do dojo.
"Hey. What's going on? You gonna go for a swim?" He asked, walking closer to his daughter.
"No, not today." Sam said, shaking her head and closed her computer.
"Great. You wanna spar with your old man?" Daniel asked, pointing at the dojo.
"Karate?"
"Yeah, you don't have to say it like it's the flu."
"Come on, dad. That was like, eight years ago."
"Well, eight years isn't that long." He reasoned with her.
"Eight years ago, I was eight." Sam said.
"Come on. Remember that time, when Ethan nailed me in the jaw with the flip kick? I mean, you both know, I had to eat soup for a week. It was funny." Daniel said, not giving on convincing his daughter to do something.
"Today's just not great. I've got a lot of homework."
"All right, gotta you. No sweat. Gotta hit the books. You hit the books." He said, giving up on making her do anything.
"Is that okay?" She asked.
"Yeah. You'd be doing me a big favor. I don't have to block that foot of fury."
"Thanks Dad." Sam said, as her father walked into the apartment.
"All right." Daniel replied, before opening the door that was connected to the house.
Back in the dojo, and after some time, Johnny finally got the new students to stand correctly in rows.
"Fighting positions! Jab punch!" He shouted, with Ethan, Aisha, and some other kids punch forward.
"Hiyah!" Johnny yelled, as they continued to punch, while he was patrolling the room.
"Come on. Tits, you can do better than that. You got weight, use it." He said, and continued to order them to punch forward, until he stopped in front of Eli.
"Hey, lip."
"Yeah. You. The one with the freaky lip. Who did you think I'm talking to?"
"Excuse me, uh, Mr. Lawrence." Demetri spoke, making the blonde glance over at him.
"Sensei Lawrence!" Aisha shouted forcefully.
"Okay. You shouldn't make fun of someone's physical appearance."
"Oh, is that so? So I'm not supposed to talk about his lip at all?" He asked, with sarcasm in his voice.
"Well, yeah."
"Maybe that's what they teach you in school, but in the real world, you can't expect people to do what they want to." Johnny said, taking small glances at the kids, who were standing in the dojo.
"You hear, lip? If you can't handle someone making fun of you, how can you gonna handle and elbow to the teeth?" He asked, causing Eli to shift nervously.
"By calling the police."
"Dude, enough of." Ethan said, peacefully.
"What? He does realize the Nazis lost the war, right? Why would I be scared of him? Because he's got a snake on his wall?"
"It's not like he's a teacher who can give us a bad grade. We're paying him. He works for us. It's not like he can actually hit us." The shaky boy said, making Johnny march towards him.
"Are you done?"
"Go ahead. Strike me right here." He said, pointing at his forehead.
Demetri got in a fighting stance, while being unsure of himself, before sending a weak punch and Johnny easily swiped his hand away, like it was nothing.
"Harder."
"Is that all you got, princess?" Sensei asked, mockingly.
He tried to hit him again, for this time only, Johnny grabbed his arm, flipping him down on the ground.
"Let that be a lesson to all of you."
The next day, at West Valley High School, Ethan was walking along side Demetri, as they were heading down the hallway.
"Yeah, but you can't just quit after the first day." He pleaded, trying to him rethink his decision.
"I got yelled at, got my ass kicked, and gave him my money. You know who lives like that?Hookers."
"Okay, but he's not that bad of a guy. You really gotta give him a chance. You don't know him, like I do." Ethan reasoned with Demetri.
"That.... That's hooker talk. Besides, I don't need to learn karate, when I have you." He said, gesturing towards Kyler, who was walking with a couple of bruises on his face, and once he noticed the Williams boy, then quickly turned the other way.
The two boys sat down in science class, Demetri sat next to Ethan, and the students started laughing, as Sam sat down in a chair by herself, with a blow pop sticking out on the back of her pink shirt. She noticed, and angrily pulled it off.
"Thanks for the blow pop, guys. Really never gets old." Sam said sarcastically, turning around and face forward to the head of the classroom.
"It's cause she gives blow jobs. Get it? 'Blow pop' Blow.... Job." Demetri said.
"Yeah. I got it. It's just stupid a rumor. And, why do you even keep listening to that crap?"
"Hey, everybody. Who let the pigs out? I did, because I ordered the fetal ones." Mr. Palmer explained.
"But seriously, get in your groups." He said, as the lesson was about to begin, then Sam noticed her partner was not there.
"Mr. Palmer, my partner is absent." She said, walking up to the teacher.
"Who wants to take Samantha in? This little piggy needs a group." He said, but no one seemed to be interested in, letting her join their group.
"Don't all volunteer at once."
"We'll be happy to take her." Ethan said, immediately raised his hand up in the air, and earned a nod from Demetri. Sam simple smiled, then placed her things next to her best friend.
"Thank you. I'm gonna go grab a chair." She said, as she walked over to her previous table and grabbed a chair.
"Yeah. No worries. Sammy."
Mr. Palmer placed a dead pig on their table, where the three sat down. The teacher also provided they would need to dissect it.
Ethan was fiddling around with the scalp in his hand, checking the pig's insides and he was constantly reading a paper with instructions on it.
"What were you thinking for sex?" Sam asked, catching the confused looks of both of them.
"Um.... I mean...." The boy shuttered, in embarrassment.
"Because in the male, the tracts open up near the umbilical cord. I think ours it is a real female."
"Yeah. That's correct." Ethan said, nodding his head, and started checking off the instructions street.
"Thanks for, um.... Helping me out, by the way." Sam said, nervously, while playing around with her fingers.
"Of course. I'm mean, I'm sure you would've found another group."
"I meant with the fight."
"Someone had to take care of those scumbags." He said, causing her to softly smile at him.
"But no one else did it."
"That was a pretty nice roundhouse." She said.
"Thanks, but it's been seven or eight years, seen I've actually done karate. So, you could at least giveโ"
"You telegraphed the sweep. When you lift, your foot up like that, it shifts the weight to the back leg. More windup, less power."
"Maybe I should start taking lessons from you, again."
"That one was a freebie. Next one, I'm expecting money up front." Sam said.
"You're serious, right?" He asked, with a raise eyebrow.
"No, I was joking." She said, and Ethan started checking off more of the instructions.
"Let's see here."
"Do you guys want a banana? People keep sneaking them in my bag. It's probably because of that stupid rumor, you've must have heard." Sam said, opening her backpack and then pulled out a couple of bananas.
"No."
"Yes." Demetri answered, making his friend looked at him in disbelief.
"Stupid, stupid rumors. Hurtful lies. People are monsters." He remarked his answer.
"You shouldn't worry about it, anymore. Those guys are assholes to us. They kept calling me 'Shithead', so....." Ethan said, and gently grabbed Sam's hand for comfort.
"Not anymore."
"I guess you're right." He said, as they both smiled at one another, while glazing into each other's eyes.
After school that day, Aisha and Ethan heard back to the dojo, where Demetri had already made up his decision.
And once they got in, all the people seemed to have the exact same thoughts as Demetri, because half of the class was completely gone.
"Where is everyone? Crater-face? Nose ring? Sling-shot?" Johnny asked, stepping out of his office.
"They all quit, Sensei." Ethan said, quietly.
"You serious?"
"I mean, good. That was a test. I wanted to see who the quitters are. Not you guys. You're in it to win it, right? You could be at home playing your computer, playing video games, and eating candy. Instead, you're here, doing push-ups, learning how to fight." He said, looking around around the room, before landing his eyes on Eli.
"Lip. Look. Even lips tougher than those guys. He's no quitter."
"Could you please not call me that?" Eli spoke up, making Aisha and Ethan whipped their heads towards him.
"Excuse me, what?"
"Could you please not call me that." He said, more loudly.
"If you want, I could warm them up, Sensei." Williams interrupted, but Johnny stopped him.
"No, lip has something he wants to say. Sorry, speak up, boy. Or is your tongue messed up too? Are you one of those challenged kids?"
"The doctor said I could be on the spectrum." Eli said, causing the blonde to look confused.
"I don't know what that is, but get off it pronto. All right? If you don't want me to call you 'lip', don't have a weird lip. Can't you get surgery for that?"
"I was born with a cleft lip. This is the scar from the surgery." He explained.
"You mean it was worse than before? Or did the doctor screw up? Because if this is the after photo, that sucks, man. You should probably sue them." Johnny said, harshly, as Ethan was getting angry because of him making fun of his friend.
"Can we just please change can the topic?" Eli pleaded, quietly.
"You don't think I want to? It's right in front of me. You wanna be something other than a nerd with a scar on his lip, you gotta flip the script. Okay? Get a face tattoo or gouge your eye out. We're call you 'Patchy' all right?"
"No, don't do that one. You'll still look like a freak." He said, then made the boy run out of the dojo.
After class was finished, Johnny headed straight to his office, with Ethan right behind him, absolutely pissed at him.
"Why do you have to be so tough on them?" He asked, as Sensei grabbed a beer from his mini fridge.
"They're just kids."
"Come on, Williams. They're a bunch of losers."
"Some of those losers are my friends." Ethan said, pointing to the main room.
"Yeah, that tracks."
"And they're your students. You're the one who said you wanted a full dojo. Well, you got one." He reasoned with him.
"Not full like that."
"Okay, I get it, all right? Their losers. Maybe I'm a loser too."
"Are you kidding me? Are you gonna cry too?" Johnny asked.
"Never mind. It's just.... You don't even know what it's like to us. I'll see you tomorrow." Ethan said, giving up and walked out of the office.
Later, at the LaRusso house, Sam was sitting down on her bed in her room, working on some homework when her laptop chimes.
She immediately hop off of the bed, walking over to her desk, then opened it up to see an instagram notification appeared on the screen.
Sam sighed in disbelief, hoping it wasn't another post of her having too many hotdogs in her mouth. She clicked on the message and was revealed to be a big piggy, waving its arm around in a circular motion.
"Science is all murdering! Sammy, why did you dissect me?" A voice said, jokingly as she started laughing.
"I could've gotten somewhere in my life."
"Just kidding, it's me, Ethan. Let me know you ever need the notes from class today." He said, and Sam begin playing the message over and over.
The next day, at the dojo, there even more kids than normal, but that wasn't a huge problem in students, which pleaded Ethan a little bit.
Johnny stepped out of his office, trying everything in his power, not to meet anyone's eyes, but even if he tried to, his stare was pointing to the ground.
"There are three more absences, Sensei."
"Bunch of pussies." Aisha scoffed.
"No, it's my fault." He muttered.
"Since you joined Cobra Kai, I have been hard on you. I called you names. I even humiliated you. Some of you, I've hit. And for that, I don't apologize. This dojo is about strength. If you're not strong on the inside, then you can't be strong on the outside. And right now, you are weak. I know that because I was you, all of you."
"I used to have no friends. Used to be weird kid. Not that weird. I hooked up with babes and all, but.... The point is, I wasn't always the badass sensei I am today. Just like a cobra, I had to shed my loser skin to find my true power. And you guys will too." Johnny said, as the shop bell jangles, making everyone turn their heads to see someone standing there.
"Eli?" Ethan asked, confusingly.
"I'm flipping the script." Eli said, as he stood there with confidence.
"Wait. Are you the kid with the lip?"
"Nice cut, bro. You see that? It doesn't matter if you're a loser or a nerd or a freak. All that matters is you become badass."
"Hawk, fall in." Sensei said, as Hawk smirked and took his shoes off, then stood next to Aisha, and Ethan, who were facing forward, looking at the mirror.
"Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it?"
"No Sensei!" Hawk shouted, placing his both of his arms around his back.
"Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?" He asked, stepping closer to Aisha.
"No Sensei."
"Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it?"
"No Sensei." Ethan answered, as Johnny turned around to face forward, standing between Aisha and him.
"Class, are you ready to learn the way of the fist?"
"YES SENSEI!" The students shouted loudly.
