ย  [SEASON THREE: EPISODE FIVE]
[PART ONE]

Johnny walked up towards Elizabeth's apartment, opening the door without thinking, and hoped they would be alone in the early morning.

"I'm gonna work those gimpy legs like a.... rented mule." He called out, then was surprised to see someone was already with Ethan.

"Sorry, I thought you said 10:00 that you'd be alone."

"My mom gets free therapy sessions from her work, and this was the only time that Brayden was available." Williams stated as he moved his leg up in a critical direction.

"Mahado."

"We'll be done soon, if you wanna wait."

"Now, if you're feeling any pain, hermano, let me know." The therapist said.

"Still have no feeling whatsoever." He shook his head.

"Positive thoughts, remember? You're going great."

"At what letting lift his legs?" Johnny questioned, with a raise eyebrow, causing Ethan to laugh.

"Johnny, Brayden is a specialist in the field. He knows what he's doing."

"Slow, Beep breaths."

"You gotta be shitting me?"

"Johnny.... can I talk to you?" She pleaded as they walked into the kitchen.

"Ethan clearly wants you to be part of his rehabilitation. I'm not going to deny him that. I'm also not going to deny him access to a very medical professional with years of education and experience."

"You clearly have an opinion about his methods. But if you can't keep that opinion to yourself, maybe you should just catch up with Ethan once his therapy session is over?" Elizabeth asked.

"Okay. I'm sorry." Johnny apologized.

Meanwhile, at the Detention Center, Robby was sitting down, having a conversation with someone about how his father became the man he is today. While, Kreese was waiting for a perfect moment to convince him to join Cobra Kai.

"Let me tell you about your dad. He was always a scrapper. But the moment I knew he was the real deal was his first All Valley." The old man stated.

"He made the quarters, but he drew a kid named Vidal. Now Vidal was a third-generation black belt. Very skilled. Way beyond Johnny, at the time. Your old man lost. But he didn't make it easy."

"And I saw that look in his eye that he would never let happen again."

"Cool story. Try telling it to someone who gives a shit." Robby snapped, sounding emotionless.

"You're his son, all right."

"Yeah, and look where that got me." The boy said, looking around at the place.

"Come on, kid. You know you don't deserve to be here. From what I heard, you tried to break up that fight and.... Williams attacked you. Sure, you can keep beating yourself up for what went down." Kreese explained to him.

"By the look of your face, there's plenty of people here happy to do that for you."

"You're wasting your time, old man. The last thing I need is another sensei."

"Fair enough." He nodded before standing up on his feet.

"I don't think there's much I could teach you right now anyway. Expect maybe this... all that Miyagi-Do mumbo jumbo.... that might score you points in a tournament. But now you're in the real world, kid, you might wanna learn to strike first."

The kids were at Miyagi-Do, with Sam leading them in her father's absence in Japan, while the others were training. Demetri helped Chris up off the ground.

"Good hit, man."

"Yeah." He nodded his head.

"Good, again." She ordered, making them look at her, confused.

"Hey, don't you think we might need Ethan's help on this?"

"You do realize he's going through therapy for his injury, and we ready to be fight without Ethan." Sam stated, and they prepared to spar again. Suddenly, Ms. LaRusso walked through the back door.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Uh.... Would you believe.... A study group?"

"Go home. All of you. Now!" She yelled. Chris sighed angrily as him and the others had left the dojo.

"So, what part of no more karate did you not understand?"

"The part where you and Dad don't have to decide that for me." The brunette replied.

"What about school? Principal Logez called me. Think you can ignore their rules too?"

"What, that soccer game? That was nothing." Sam shrugged her shoulders.

"It's not nothing, Sam. You could've been suspended again. Look, I don't know what's going on with youโ€”"

"No, you don't."

"If you really think karate is the problem, then you haven't been paying attention. And hopefully Ethan will be willing to listen to me." The brunette said, before stepping inside the house.

In Okinawa, Daniel, Chozen, and Kumilo were all sitting down at a table together. The two grown men kept staring at one another, as if they were about to fight again, until someone spoke.

"So, you married, kids?"

"No, wife. No kids." He responded.

"More of a friends guy, I guess."

"Okay. I'm gonna go get another drink. Would youโ€”"

"I will get it." Chozen said, standing up from his seat and walked over to the bar, getting himself another drink.

"Ok, you gotta help me out here. This is most awkward conversation of myself. Why is he even here?"

"I called him." She answered, which made LaRusso looked confused.

"You called him?" He questioned.

"Did you forget about time we almost fought to the death? That guy tried to kill me! And you!"

"That was a long time ago. Chozen has changed."

"People like him don't change, okay? Trust me. I know all there is to know about grudges. Believe me."

"It seems you the two of you to have lots to talk about." Kumilo stated, and Chozen came back to the table with a refilled drink.

"I have to go."

"What? You can't leave me alone with this guy!"

"Would you give Daniel-san a tour around town?" She asked in Japanese, and he nodded his head.

"See you later."

"Sure you don't wannaโ€”" He started, but realized she was already gone.

"Gonna have a drink?"

"I don't drink." Chozen replied.

Back in the Valley, after his therapy session was done, Brayden walked back to his car with his bag slug over his shoulder, while Ethan rolled his wheelchair out of the apartment.

"Great job today, jefe. You crushed it."

"Really? Cause it felt like I didn't do anything."

"Hey, no negative thoughts. Just positive energy."

"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind." The boy nodded his head. Brayden got inside his car and left the building.

Williams turned around and began rolling back to his mother's apartment. Suddenly, an old magazine came down that was attached to a fishing pole. He looked up to notice Johnny was the one holding it.

"What is this?"

"This is a collection of the tastiest babes of 1988. Not gonna get to see them unless you grab it."

He tried to reach for it, since it was low enough for him. Johnny could see him from the corner of his eye, and quickly lifted the role up.

"Gonna have to try harder than that."

"You do know that I can find those on my phone, right?"

"It's not the same. Chicks are hotter on the page. You won't know unless you get off your butt. Or you can keep getting foot rubs from that pansy-ass therapist." Sensei stated as the boy let out a little laugh. Ethan nodded his head, and went to grab it again, but it got moved away.

"Weak! That all you got, Williams? I thought you were the All Valley champ?"

The boy tried for a third time, slightly lifting himself out of the wheelchair to grab it. Suddenly, he fell forward down on the ground.

"Damn it!" Johnny shouted, running down the stairs, and grabbed underneath his armpits, helping him back in the chair. He kneeled down beside him, patting him on his shoulder.

"All right, gimme a minute, we'll go again. I still have my Vanna White Playboy that'll get you going."

"Don't you get it? You could have Sammy here, and I still wouldn't be able to stand." Ethan said, rolling himself back to his mother's apartment.

Meanwhile, back in Japan, Daniel and Chozen had stopped at a balcony, looking out over the small island.

"Now this is the Okinawa I remember. Guess not all of Tomi Village is a shopping mall, huh?"

"This is where karate was born."

"Oh, right." He nodded his head before continuing.

"Miyagi Shimpo sensei."

"You know Shimpo sensei?" Chozen asked.

"Yeah."

"Like all Miyagi ancestors, he was a fisherman. He loved fishing. And fall asleep off the coast of Okinawa. Wake up off the coast of China. Ten years later, he came back with a Chinese wife and two kids. And the secret of Miyagi family karate." Daniel explained to him.

"Your sensei told you this?"

"Yeah. Mr. Miyagi taught me everything he knew."

"Oh. So you know everything, huh?" He questioned, with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, I'm notโ€”"

"This way." The man ordered, turning around and going back down the stairs.

"Where are we going now?"

They made their way to an ancient dojo in the outer western mountains of the island. The two stepped inside as Daniel looked around, noticing all of the artifacts placed on a shelf.

LaRusso walked over to a black box that was already opened and reached his hand in to grab whatever was inside of it. He pulled out a scroll, unraveling it to reveal a man doing the Crane kick.

"This is crane technique. This is Miyagi-Do?"

"Your sensei's father taught my uncle. Sato taught me. Before he died, Sato gave me all Miyagi artifacts." Chozen stated as someone went back in the box to grab the thing, but he stopped him from going any further.

"This is not for you!"

"Why not? You just said yourself our senseis had the same sensei. We're basically karate cousins, right?" Daniel asked, sounding more like a joke then anything else.

"You are a foreigner. You cannot take our secrets."

"Hey, Mr. Miyagi treated me like a son, not a foreigner. He wouldn't keep any secrets from me."

"Are you sure about that?"

Outside of his apartment, Johnny was firing up a grill while telling Ethan an old Japanese story to scare people.

"You know why they call this a hibachi?"

"No, they call a kettle grill." The boy responded.

"Hundred years ago in ancient China, there was a tiny little village of dairy farmers, living fat off their milk and cheese. Then when a drought came, they needed to get water from the river. None of the Chinese wanted to do their work."

"I'm lightly positive not really sure that's the right term for it." Ethan retorted.

"China people, whatever."

"The point is, they were laying around in hammocks waiting for rain. So a wise man gathered up a bunch of twigs and stuffed it under the villagers while they slept. Know what he did then?" Johnny asked, waiting for an answer.

"They lit a fire under the people?"

"Exactly. That's where the expression comes from. Know what that wise man's name was?"

"Don't tell me. Hibachi?"

"Damn straight."

"You do know that hibachis are from Japan, not China, and where there weren't a lot of farmers, historically, or even hammocks. You really think I'd fall for something like that?"

"No, but I knew you'd be too busy calling my bullshit to know what I was up to."

"Oh, yeah? Then what's that?"

"Lighting a fire under you." Sensei answered, holding up a gasoline bottle.

"What?" Ethan questioned, leaning forward over the railing to see a fire small appeared on his foot. Johnny went up behind him, grabbing both his arms, keeping them in place.

"Are you crazy?"

"Depends who you ask. Come on, Williams! Shake a leg."

"I can't!" He replied.

"You can if you want it bad enough."

"It's all I want!"

"Then focus! Tell your brain to tell your legs to get their asses moving!"

"Okay." Williams blurted out, breathing heavily and trying desperately to move, before watching his ankle catch on fire.

"Oh, shit."

"Sensei, it's going up my leg!" He shouted, as Johnny ran over to grab a fire extinguisher, putting the fire out.

"I really thought that would work."

"Why didn't it, though? My foot was on fire, and I didn't feel a thing. Why is nothing we do working?"

"It's fine, anyway. I should clean up before my mom comes back." Ethan sighed and headed back to his apartment.

Back in Japan, Daniel and Chozen were wearing training gis, preparing for a sparring match to see he really knew everything Mr. Miyagi taught him.

"Are you sure you just don't wanna show me the scrolls?" He asked, and sighed before they bowed to one another.

"Now let us see how much you really know."

"I don't know what you want toโ€”" Chozen swung his fist out, and LaRusso blocked it.

He lunged at him again with his leg, but Daniel countered the attack with a kick to the hand.

The other man stuck his leg out, and his opponent had stepped out of range, rushing over towards him, throwing a punch.

Chozen blocked it, and Daniel went to attack with both arms. But before he could do anything, he quickly brought both his arms up, blocking the attack.

Daniel swung his fist outward, then Chozen crotch down, striking him in the stomach. He turned around, earning another hit in his lower back, making his opponent fall down on the ground, holding his hip.

"God! What the hell?"

"So, your sensei did not teach you everything."

"Are you sure that was Miyagi-Do karate? Didn't seem like self-defense to me."

"Defense takes on many forms."

They had moved outside, standing on a wooden platform with Bo staffs and Chozen was teaching him how to use them. He also reveal the secrets of Miyagi-Do karate, well the aggressive version.

His opponent swung the staff towards LaRusso, causing him fall off of the platform, landing on the ground. He got back up, and they were back in the dojo.

Daniel went to throw a punch, and. Chozen caught his arm, pulling him forwards. He stabbed his elbow down into the enemy's back, then kicked him in the knee, making him fall down on one knee.

The man sticked his leg out, and Daniel quickly acted, dodging it by rolling over. Then he grabbed his leg, pulling them both to the ground.

The two got back up in a fighting stance. While one of them was preforming what looks to be a darker version of kata, Daniel rushed over towards him and swung his fist out. He turned around, blocking the attack.

LaRusso went to hit him again, and Chozen caught his arm. He held up in the air before striking at the pressure point underneath the arm, making his opponent stop feeling anything.

"What did you do?" He asked, looking up at him in complete shock. Chozen swung his leg out, hitting his knee, making Daniel kneel down on the floor.

He went to throw a punch, and Chozen slammed his fist down at the shoulder, then turned around to hit him again in the back. The man walked over towards him, grabbing the back of his head.

"I have waited a long time for this."

"Chozen.... no."

Chozen went to strike but stopped, grabbed his nose, making it make a honk sound. He had let go of him and started laughing.

"I'm glad.... You're having fun at my expense."

"Oh, you should've seen your face!"

"What.... What technique was that? My body was totally numb."

"The secret Miyagi-Do pressure points."

"If an enemy insists on war.... Then you take away their ability to wage it. Yeah?"

"Can you teach me?" Daniel asked, and Chozen nodded his head.
