[SEASON FOUR: EPISODE THREE]
[PART ONE]

The LaRusso family decided to invite Elizabeth, Ethan, and Johnny over for a pleasant dinner after a challenging day of training. The two woman were sitting in the living room, engaging in conversation, while Sam and her boyfriend were out back talking.

"Uh, what the hell are you doing here?"

"I was invited. Who the hell are you?"

"Wait, are you the son? What you did switch to Whopper Juniors?"

"It's called a growth spurt. Dipshit." Anthony muttered.

"Still a piece of crap." Johnny mumbled before looking at him one last time. He then left the kitchen, tightly holding a dish of broccoli rabe in his hand.

"Hey, kids! Dinner!" Amanda called out, and Ethan and Sam entered, sharing a laugh. He took a seat next to her, and she sat down beside him, exchanging smiles. The pair began giggling together before digging in their food.

"So how's business?"

"Uh, the dealership's been the best it's been in years." Daniel answered.

"It should practically be on autopilot by the time Sam takes over. Right?"

"Dad...." The brunette started, offering an uneasy smile.

"You're gonna take over the dealership? That's great, Sammy." Ethan stated happily.

"Wellโ€”" She tried to say something again, but was cut off.

"Nah, it's just an inside joke. When Sam was little, she used to walk around like she owned the place."

"Can you blame her? She was practically raised on that showroom floor. Almost born on it too." Amanda added, eliciting laughter from Elizabeth.

"Hey, whatever Sam wants to do with her life, that's entirely up to her. If she decides to go to school nearby, get her MBA. USC, UCLA, I'm just saying...." LaRusso said, as Sam looked down at her plate, obviously uncomfortable with everyone talking about her like she's not even there.

"So, Ethan, how's school going?" She asked.

"It's alright. Great, actually." Ethan replied, nodding his head.

"Straight A's, but one B this semester."

"Yes, a total nerd." Johnny said, teasing him.

"See, with grades like that you can go anywhere you want."

"Yeah. I'd like to go to San Francisco." Williams said nervously.

"That's a pretty impressive school."

"Yep, I think it's like number seven or eight in the country. The campus looks amazing." He said, sounding excited.

"It's definitely a top choice. But with that tuition, wow. We're also thinking about South College in Atlanta, right?" She asked her son, causing him to look really uncomfortable.

"We could save some money, live at home, then see where we go from there."

"SMC's great too. It's right by the beach. Have you checked out their campus?" LaRusso asked.

"No, I-I-I haven't really." Ethan stammered, moving his hand, accidentally knocking it against the serving fork. It bumped into Daniel's glass, causing it to topple over and spill wine all over his lap. The man jumped up in surprise, prompting everyone else to do the same.

"Oh! Mr. LaRusso, shit! Ah, I mean I'm so sorry."

"No, don't worry about it. Please. Just a little wine. Right?" Daniel reassured him. The boy closed his eyes with a sigh. Sam placed her hand on his arm, calming him down.

"Ethan, it's okay. It was only an accident." She whispered.

Soon, the meal ended, and the LaRusso family walked Elizabeth, Ethan, and Johnny to the front door, bidding them goodbye.

"So still okay with me taking the Eagle Fangs tomorrow?" He questioned, shaking his hand out as Sensei nodded.

"Yeah. I had some ideas on how to get your kids offense up to snuff."

"Make sure defense doesn't turn you into a cream puff." Johnny said, pointing at Ethan.

"Sensei, you don't have to worry. I've trained under him before, it's really easy once you get the hang of his style." Williams stated before walking over to Sam and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Tomorrow is gonna be great. As long as Sensei over here brings everyone back in one piece." Mr. LaRusso said, glancing over at his daughter.

"No promises."

"You'd better promise." He retorted.

"Okay, down, boys." Elizabeth scolded, walking over to the group with Amanda and the two men chuckled.

"Goodbye, LaRussos." Johnny said, before stepping out the front door.

"Dude, you spilled a glass of wine. So what?" Hawk asked, stretching his knee out behind his back.

"I don't know, bro. You should've heard how Mr. LaRusso was talking about Sammy's future. I can't even afford a car, let alone enough money for any college. What if they start to think I'm not good enough for her?" Ethan questioned, immediately started having second thoughts about his relationship with Sam.

"Dude. You're El Serpiente. You're an All Valley champion. Just show Mr. LaRusso what you're made of. I know you're gonna crush whatever he throws at us today."

"Compared to Sensei Lawrence's training, today's gonna be a vacation." Mitch stated, earning nods from everyone.

"Who's going on vacation?" Daniel asked, stepping up to the group.

"No is one. What have you got set up for us today?"

"Come here." LaRusso said, and they followed behind him over to the pond.

"Now, I know you've all been taught to strike first. But, what do you do when your opponent is faster than you?"

"Are those real coy?" Mitch asked, looking down at the pond.

"They sure are. Today's lesson is simple. Catch a fish. But since I know you Eagle Fangs like a bit of competition, we're gonna make it interesting. So the first one to succeed will the honor of leading class all week." Daniel wagered. The kids stared at him, completely blank, not seeing that as much of a reward.

"And you also get to pick out what flavor Gatorade I buy next."

"Aw, hell yeah! Hope you all like Glacial Freeze."

"So, where are the roads we're supposed to use?" Ethan asked.

"Back in the garage. Your bare hands are all you'll use and all you'll need."

"On your mark. Get set. Go!"

They all rolled up their sleeves and spread out around the pond before sticking their hands in the water. The kids tried to lunge forward to grab a fish but missed the perfect opportunity.

Williams felt one brush against his hand, feeling its slimy scales against his own hand. He went to grab onto it, and the fish slipped away before he could get a good grip on it. Suddenly, he fell down in the water, with his hair and clothes completely soaked.

"Looks like you're a little wet behind the ears there, buddy." Daniel joked, and the kids started laughing.

"Let's get you dried off."

Sam began wheezing, leaning up against the staircase along with the rest of the Migayi-Do students, struggling to find enough air to speak properly.

"Where is he taking us?" Nate questioned.

"Nowhere good." Demetri answered, stopping to catch his breath.

"I heard he drowned a kid in a pool trying to teach him how to kick, and that was before he sicced a rabid dog on Eli. This does not bode very well."

"Let's go, Miyagis. Move your asses!" Johnny shouted, and they immediately started running up the stairs, catching up to him before he led them to an abandoned rooftop.

"Oh God. I'm tried of being right." He shook his head and sighed in disbelief. The kids looked over the edge of the building.

"What are we doing here?" Sam asked, glaring at the older man, who seemed to be unfazed.

"When an eagle's hungry, it's doesn't hesitate."

"It'll dive down at 100 miles an hour to snatch its prey. Doesn't wait around for a fish to jump in its feet."

"Talons." Demetri corrected him.

"It's not talent. It's instinct. An eagle knows it has to make the first move. If you want to beat Cobra Kai in the All Valley, you gotta break yourself of this wait-and-see crap."

"How exactly are we gonna do that?" She questioned, her arms crossed over her chest, unimpressed with his pep talk.

"You're gonna jump from this roof to that one." Sensei replied nonchalantly, pointing out to the other rooftop that was quite a distance away from them.

"What? Are you crazy?" The brunette gasped, shocked.

"That building is, like fives Nate away and we're at least 14 Nates high." Demetri calculated.

"Please don't use me as a system of measurement." Nate pleaded, looking at the boy next to him.

"Quiet!" Johnny yelled, making them fall silent.

"If you wanna be an eagle, first you gotta learn how to fly. You can't do that unless you jump."

"What if we fall?" One of the Miyagi-Do students asked.

"That's what the mattresses are for." He said, pointing down to the cushions lying between both buildings.

"And if we miss the mattresses?" The pale boy asked.

"Try not to."

"All right, who's first?" The blonde man asked, eyeballing the group as none of them spoke a single word, exchanging glances with one another.

"We're not leaving till someone jumps. Let's go. I'll wait it out."

"Then I guess you'll be waiting a long time. Cause we're not jumping." Sam stated, firmly walking away from the ledge along with the other Miyagi-Do students.

Meanwhile, at the Miyagi-Do dojo, the class had just ended. Ethan had been completely dried off, and the students of Eagle Fang were stepping out of the backyard, leaving the area.

"I was so close to catching one. I definitely touched scale." Mitch said.

"I know this Chinese restaurant with a big-ass fish tank. We can go there and practice. You, uh, coming?" Hawk suggested.

"Nah. My mom's picking me up."

"All right. Well, stay dry, my friend." He chuckled, patting him on his chest as the rest of them walked away.

Williams's phone started buzzing. He pulled his phone out of his back packet, answered the call, and put it up against his ear.

"Hey, Mom."

"Yeah, are you on your way?" He asked as Daniel came out of the front door with a big blue bag draped over his shoulder.

"I'm still here at Miyagi-Do. What's up?"

"What? Are you alright?"

"Okay. I'll just call an Uber home. Love you, too Bye." The boy hung up his phone, as LaRusso looked over at him with a concerned look.

"Everything okay?"

"It's all good. Mom's just having some car troubles." Ethan replied.

"What kind of trouble? Can I help?" Daniel offered.

"It's not that big of a deal. She's calling a tow truck."

"Oh no, no. Oh no, she's not. I know what those jackals charge."

"Let me call my guys, we'll bring it in."

"You don't have to, that's not necessary." He declined the offer.

"Ethan, I do this for a living, you know that. Let me help."

"Thank you, Mr. LaRusso." Ethan nodded his head.

"It's not a problem. Okay? Come on, I'll give you a ride to the garage." Daniel said, as the got inside his vehicle and went to find his mother's car.

"Look, I get you and Sam are together, now. But that you doesn't mean you need to go all out and try to impress me for me to like you. I've known you, basically since Sam was five years old. Ethan, you're a good kid, with very a good heart, and don't even forget that."
