[SEASON THREE: EPISODE THREE]
[PART ONE]
Ethan's awake.
That was the message that woke Sam up in the morning. She felt her heart practically leaping out of her chest as her best friend from her childhood just woke up from a coma.
She got ready as quickly as she could and drove to the hospital, and luckily, she didn't want wait for her mother to take her there.
When she arrived at Ethan's room, then slightly knocked on the door, getting his attention. He turned his head to notice her and smiled happily.
"Hey."
"Sammy." He replied, as she stepped closer towards him.
"I hope it's okay, for me just showing up here. How are you?" She asked, and realized she already knew the answer.
"I mean.... Sorry, it's a stupid question." The brunette apologized nervously.
"It's okay, really. My mom doesn't mind if you come to visit, she thinks you are like the daughter she never had."
"Also, I have a surgery on Friday with some doctor that's out of state and works miracles."
"That's great, right?" Sam asked.
"I'm not getting my hopes up. Because it costs a lot and mom's gonna be in debt. There's really no guarantee it'll work, but...." Ethan shrugged his shoulders.
"If anyone can beats the odds, it's definitely you." She stated.
"Is that from Tory?" He questioned, noticing three scar marks underneath her upper arm.
"Oh, uh.... Yeah. It's really not that bad." She said, pulling her shirt sleeve, revealing them.
"I'm so sorry, about that Sam. I just wished I got Tory away from you in time." Williams apologized.
"You didn't do anything." Sam reassured him.
"And I understand why you wanted to protect me. But she's the one who finally decided to go crazy."
"Look, I'm not taking anybody's side, you have to understand she had a rough life."
"Everybody's got a sob story. That doesn't give you the right to be a bully." She snapped.
"Yeah." He said, nodding his head knowingly.
"I just wanted to give you this, it's just a card." The brunette handed him a get well soon card. He grabbed from her and opened it up to see what was inside.
"Ethan, I'm sorry. For all of this."
"Come here." Ethan said, with opened arms, as she quickly rushed on the bed, and into his arms.
"I don't blame you, Sammy. I never did." He reassured her, moving a few strings of her long brown hair, out of her face. They looked up at one another. Suddenly, someone appeared at the door, getting their attention.
"El Serpiente!" Hawk yelled cheerfully. Sam and Ethan immediately stopped what they were doing.
"I'm gonna go." She said, looking back at him.
"Okay." He said, as she stepped towards the doorway, and went outside.
"You've got some nerve coming here after what your boyfriend did to him."
"I don't care what you think. I'm just wanna help."
"Pretty sure you've done enough princesses." Hawk said, walking away her, then went inside Ethan's room.
After a drunken Johnny crashed his friend Bobby's church service, and started rambling about how he acted as a teenager. They sat down on the edge of the stage to have a conversation about what just happened.
"I still don't understand how they get coffee in the cake." He said, picking up a frosty ice cream cake.
"Johnny.... What the heck was that all about?"
"I know you're upset, but you can blame yourself for what Robby did."
"I'm not even allowed to see him. Since I'm on probation for that little incident in the parking garage."
"Yeah. Well, you're lucky it was only probation."
"I'm lucky I knew a priest who put a good word in with the judge. Thank you, very much." He said, sarcastically.
"Not a priest."
"How about we make a deal? You promise yourself to do positive things. Be a better person."
"I already tried that." Johnny remarked.
"I put everything I had into my students, taught them to be tough and show mercy. Thought I was doing the right thing."
"You were."
"Then why'd all this happen? I mean, you wanna punish me, fine. But Ethan and Robby they're just kids."
"I know. It isn't fair." Bobby said, nodding his head in agreement.
"You got to remember, you don't do the right thing, because it always works out. You do the right thing, because it's the right thing to do. Both those kids need you. And you need to be there for them, whether it works out or not."
"I can help you with Robby. The detention center will let you in if accompanied by a member of the clergy. How about we meet there tomorrow?" He asked.
"That'd be great."
"And as for Ethan and his surgery, the church can make a nominal donation, but we're still paying for our new roof."
"I wasn't even gonna ask."
"Why not let your stepdad to help out? He's still loaded, isn't he?"
"No way. Sid? That'd be his dream come true. Me groveling for his money." Johnny said, declining interest about money from his weird stepfather.
"We'll figured something out."
"I know you will." Bobby commented, patting him on his shoulder.
Meanwhile, at LaRusso's Autoshop, Daniel and Amanda were discussing with Cole on what he's gonna do to their dealership once they have signed a legal contract agreement. He was skimming through the pages while they all sat down at a big table.
"You're serious? You wanna buy our dealership?"
"Christmas came early, Danny boy." The man answered.
"This offer is hardly Christmas morning. It's not even a belated Secretary's day." She stated, looking down at the book.
"They prefer executive assistant."
"Oh, do they?" She questioned, with a raise eyebrow.
"Look, I believe in karma. What goes up, over a balcony, must come down. The Valley has spoken. No one wants to do business with a bully." Cole replied.
"Okay. One, I am not a bully." Daniel said in disbelief.
"And two, there are plenty of people walking through that door every day. We are doing just fine." He closed the notebook, and someone started laughing.
"Oh, that's so convincing. But if all of this disappears tomorrow, which it will, where does that leave you? Why don't you try and get something before it's worth nothing?" The man asked, before taking a pen out of his shirt pocket, and placing it down on the table. They made their way towards the front door, with Cole trialing behind them.
"Faroush, come on let's go." He demanded, snapping his fingers, and Adam quickly followed him to the door, then exited the dealership.
"Guys, we really need to talk." Louie said, getting Daniel and Amanda's attention.
After Sam left the hospital, she thought of a way to help Ethan, and that way was by having a car wash fundraiser so his mother wouldn't have to lose so much money.
She got everyone from West Valley High, including all the cheerleaders, Moon, and even a few extra people to help out. The vehicles were lined up with one by one, and they began washing them.
"Great job, guys. Keep it up. We're got a line of cars around the block." She announced, looking around at everyone, then noticed Moon and walked over towards her.
"Hey, Moon."
"Hey."
"Thanks for bringing out the cheerleading team, they are definitely helping to attract customers."
"Anything I can do to help."
"I thought you were a feminist?"
"Oh, I'm a sex-positive feminist. Our bodies area an expression." Moon said, before walking away from her.
Hawk, Mitch, and Mikey were riding on separate motorcycles at the car wash, keeping a far distance from them to avoid being seen. They removed their visors, glancing down at the Miyagi-Do students.
"They're literally using Ethan as their poster child."
"He's not Miyagi-Do. They think they can get away with that?" Mitch asked, looking at the teens next to him.
"They won't." He replied, pulling his visor back down.
At the lunchroom in the Juvenile Detention center, Robby sat down at a table, eating whatever food they gave out. He turned around, to look at the TV and noticed was someone familiar on the screen.
"Wasn't it a Miyagi-Do student who put Ethan Williams in the hospital?" The reporter asked.
"That was an accident. At least, I hope so. I just know that Ethan needs our help. We love you, Ethan." Sam replied, and Keene began having second thoughts.
"That's your girl?" Shawn asked, walking over with his friends toward him.
"I don't know. Sounds like vanilla not her flavor no more. She got a taste for that horchata. Who knows? Thinking maybe she'll be drinking dark roast next." He said tauntingly, turning around and looking back at the TV.
"How about you just shut your mouth and just walk away?" Robby questioned, getting up from his seat and staring dead straight at him.
"Sorry, ass-punk. Looks like karate boy wants to throw down."
"Go ahead. I'll give you a free shot before I use your teeth for dice."
"My karate's about self-defense." He stated.
"Oh. Well, let's see how that works out for you." Shawn grabbed his shoulder, and made him turn around. He threw a punch, as Robby blocked it. Then, Eddie came up from behind the short-haired kid, wrapping their arms underneath his arms.
He dodged it and saw someone else coming for him. He kicked him back. His opponent struck again, but Keene blocked it again. They all started attacking Robby, throwing him across a table, and he fell down on the floor.
Shawn and his friends ran up to him, slamming their feet on the boy's face. Suddenly, an alarm went off, and everyone went down on the floor.
"Get back to your bucks. We're on lockdown!" The guard shouted on the intercom. Shawn and his friends ran away from him. Robby leaned against a chair attached to a table, clenching his arm underneath his stomach and breathing heavily.
