[SEASON FOUR: EPISODE NINE]
[PART ONE]

"Ladies and gentlemen.... You've been waiting a long time, but we're finally here. Dojos from all across the Valley have been training for a year for their shot at glory. You ready to meet them?" Daryl asked, as the entire crowd erupted into applause, eliciting a chuckle from him.

"Alright."

"This Sensei and dojo need no introduction. He took the All Valley by storm in 1984 and '85 and quickly became one of the greatest underdogs in the history of the sport. Last year, this dojo came out of nowhere and made it to the finals. They're got some new fighters and they're ready to show the world that they're the best around. Give it up for Miyagi-Do karate, led by two-time All Valley champion Daniel LaRusso!"

Daniel and his students jogged towards the mat, their Gis standing out against the blue and gold mats. Cheers erupted, with Amanda and Anthony leading the cacophony. LaRusso waved his hand out and bowed before turning back to the announcer.

"This next dojo took last year's title. But they're under new management. Can they reign supreme once more? And last year's runner up. He may be wearing a new gi, but one thing for sure, Robby Keene and his team are ready to strike! Hailing from Reseda, defending champions and still a badass name for a dojo, here comes Cobra Kai!"

Kreese and Sliver stepped out of the white flog, clad in their black Gis, their expressions stoic. Their students followed behind them as the crowd cheered wildly. The two men halted, causing the kids stop as well, standing as if they were soldiers in the army. Daniel glanced over at them, locking eyes with Terry, who gave him a tight-lipped grin.

"Finally, this dojo is making their All-Valley debut, though you'll recognize a few familiar faces. Every year, a new dojo rises up the ranks. Does this newcomer have what it takes to win it all? Please welcome Eagle Fang Karate, led by Sensei Johnny Lawrence and defending champion Ethan Williams!"

Johnny walked into the arena with Ethan by his shoulders. His eyes scanned the area, taking note of the crowd size and the various dojos competing.

He shook his head, jogging up behind Sensei to take his own spot on the mat, wearing his black and red headband, a gift from Mr. Miyagi had gotten for his eighth birthday. Williams claimed it made him look even more badass, and it was definitely the appropriate time to wear it.

Terry's blue eyes followed him as he stood next to Johnny. He wished more than anything for him to be wearing a black Cobra Kai Gi and to be by his side, fighting for the title.

"At the end of the day, only one of these dojos can be crowned Grand Champion. Welcome to the 51st All Valley under-18 Karate Tournament!" Daryl shouted. The big crowd jumped up to their feet, applauding loudly, making the man laugh again.

"It's karate time."

"Okay Eagle Fangs, listen up." Johnny ordered, as his students all circled around him.

"Some of you have been here before.... And for some of you, it's your first karate tournament. I still remember my first All Valley where I pummeled the ever-loving crap out of my opponents as the whole crowd cheer. They tried to soften you guys up. That bullshit's behind us now. If Cobra Kai wins, means no more Eagle Fang. We're not gonna let that happen are we?"

"No Sensei!" They shouted in unison.

"Of course not, because we have something Cobra Kai doesn't. We have a reigning champion." He stated, pointing over towards Ethan, who grinned in response.

"Are you guys ready?"

"Yes, Senesi!"

"Alright let's go warm up." The blonde man instructed, prompting the kids to walk away. Then he called out to a familiar person.

"Williams, a word."

The boy stepped over to him, staring up with an emotionless expression on his face. He wouldn't let his own emotions get the best of him, not after what happened last night with Sam, Robby, and even Johnny. But right now, anger seemed to take over his mind.

"Listen, I know what's been going on with you, lately."

"You really do?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"You haven't gotten over that little spat with your girlfriend."

"Right, of course." Ethan nodded his head, noncommittal.

"I can totally relate."

"Right."

"My junior prom was an absolute shit show. I need you to get your head on straight. I need you focus on winning. You and Sam will make up, but right now she's not on your team and your team needs you." Sensei stated, patting his shoulder before walking over to the rest of the other students.

"Okay? Let's get to work."

The boy's eyes glanced over at the group of kids wearing Miyagi-Do Gis, with his gaze landing on a certain female figure, Sam. She turned her attention to him, and Williams quickly averted his gaze from her, hopping that she would apologize later for what happened at prom.

The skills competition was first, meaning that Eagle Fang had to try and score as many points as possible before they all started with fighting matches. Ethan was going to showcase kata, while Bert did a broad breaking, and Mitch preformed the weapons portion.

At first, everything was going smoothly, with Bert successfully breaking the broads and Mitch doing some excellent work. The Eagle Fangs quickly rose up to second place, before everything started falling apart. Bert failed to break another broad and, then suddenly Mitch accidentally throw his Bo staff at the judges. The only points that they received was from Williams's kata.

Once the skills competition was finished, with Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai coming out on top, it was time for the tournament matches to begin.

"How the hell are we in sixth place?" Johnny asked, angrily.

"The skill events are weighted differently. Gold medals are 10 pointsโ€”" Devon started.

"I don't give a shit about the math. What do we need to beat Cobra Kai?"

"Uh, math." She replied.

"To catch up on points, we need to win as many matches in the qualifying rounds as possible."

"Let's do this." The blonde man agreed, nodding his head.

The qualifying rounds seemed to be moving in a very fast pace as the number of different dojos battled against one another. Cobra Kai dominated with Robby, Kenny, Kyler, Piper, and Tory advancing to the quarterfinals.

Obviously, Miyagi-Do right behind them, with Sam, Eli, and Demetri. On the other hand, Eagle Fang wasn't doing so good, meaning Ethan and Deven were the only ones left to stand a chance against all the other remaining dojos competing.ย

"Alright folks. We've witnessed some great fighting today. But you guys ain't seen anything yet. Because we have arrived to the quarterfinals!" Daryl yelled, then chuckled loudly.

"Which means things are about to get intense. Of the eight boys and eight girls on this stage, one of each will be named the All Valley Champion. And then we'll tally up all the points to determine which dojo has earned the title of Grand Champion. And since the points get higher in each round.... It's still any dojo's game! So you keep your own eyes out here on this blue mat, because we are just getting started!" The whole crowd cheered wildly before the very first match was announced.

Ethan went first and begin swinging at his opponent. The boy had put up a good fight, but he definitely wasn't the better fighter. He moved forward as Williams jumped up in the air, preforming the flying tornado kick Johnny had taught him, making the boy land on the mat and winning the match.

"You got this, kid." Johnny said, encouragingly as Devon stepped on the mat. The two girls bowed at each other before turning towards the referee then bowing back. She grinned to herself, getting into a fighting stance.

"Ready, and fight!"

Her opponent went forward, swung her arm to land a hit but, the brunette could see it from a mile away and intercepted her fist, grabbing ahold of her forearm and flipping her down on the mat. Then she struck the girl's chest, earning a point.

She ran towards her, throwing punches, catching the girl off guard. She frantically tried to block them, not noticing her opponent's leg went upwards. Devon swept her own foot underneath the girl, making the girl fall to the ground, and earning the final point.

"Winner!"

"That was awesome." Ethan exclaimed.

"Great job." The blonde man complemented her, patting her on the shoulder.

"Thanks guys."
