Flashback :

It's 1am in the middle of the night and still Aditya didn't came home till now. I am pacing here and there in the hall worriedly. This is the first time he is doing late. On top of that he is not picking up my call. I have Ansh in my arms who has slept a few minutes ago.

All of my family members were present in the hall waiting for him. Obviously who can sleep when one member has not return home till now.

'Aryan can you please one more time try to call him. Is he deaf or what ?? Why isn't he picking up the call' I ask frustratingly.

'I'm sure his phone is on silent mode Ankita , that's why he couldn't hear out call ' he tells me again trying to call him equally worried as me.

Again ! The person you are calling is not able to take your call. Please try again later.

'Bacha, give Ansh in my lap,you are holding him for such a long time ' Nivedita, my mother in law suggesting me.

Already my back is hurting a lot.I nods my head and give my ansh to her lap not before planting a kiss on his forehead.

My in-laws are the kindest people in this entire world. I am an orphan since childhood. They give me that love which every childs earns from their parents.

A minute after,my phone starts ringing. It's an unknown number. I don't know by seeing it my heart starts beating in a full speed. I pick up the call with my shivering hand.

And next second what I heard from the other side ,shake the ground beneath my feet. My breath knocks out in my throat. Suddenly I couldn't breathe,my whole body froze.

"Ankita, what happened? Who is it?" Aryan's voice cuts through my haze of panic, but I can't process his words.

All I see are flashes of Aditya's smiling face. Black dots cloud my vision, and I lose consciousness.

Aryan's POV :

I don't know what that person told her from the other side but her body posture is telling me a different story. It's not giving me a good vibes.

My eyes become widen seeing her falling down . Before she could meet the ground , I holds her . I taps her cheek but she got unconscious.

I made her lay on the sofa and takes the phone from her hand. The person was still on the line.

Sir, your brother has an accident . We got his car on the highway bridge in a damaged state. We are taking him to the city hospital.

I feel like someone has choke my neck in a tight grip. I got shattered hearing the news.

Ankita POV:

Next second when I got conscious. I straight away went to the city hospital. As we reach their ,the doctor told that he is no more.

Flashback ends.

I came back to reality, feeling my son's small hand on my cheek. It was then that I realized my cheek was wet with tears.

"Auu...uu," he made a cute sound, trying to gain my attention.

I wiped my face and smiled at him.You might not know, but my son is a great attention seeker. He will do anything to get noticed.

I grabbed his small palm.

"What happened, Shona? Are you feeling hungry, baby?"

In response, he kicked his legs into the air and looked around as if searching for someone.

I bit my lips, amused by his naughtiness. I already guessed what he wanted. He scrunched his nose.

"Are you searching for your Chachu, baby?" I asked, rubbing my nose against his stomach.

A giggle appeared on his lips at the mention of 'Chachu,' and he kicked his legs even more energetically.

He knew it was playtime with his favorite Aryan Chachu, but today Aryan was late coming from the office.

He was probably in his room freshening up.I crossed his arms playfully.

"Hmm, so my Shona wants to play, huh?" I asked.

His smiling and laughing face always gives me a sense of peace.

Almost every mother feels this way when they see their children happy.I looked at his golden-brown eyes.

Ansh is a spitting image of his father, but surprisingly, he got his eyes from his Chachu.

Genetics, you know!

He started making wobbly lips and became restless.

"Oh, Awhhoo... you will play, baby. Chachu is coming, don't cry, Shona." I patted his chest lovingly.

"WHY IS MY CHACHU KI JAAN CRYING, HMM?" a soft voice came from outside the room.

At the sound of the voice, he stopped crying immediately and looked at the door with his big, doe eyes.

I gasped at his acting. No one could tell he was crying just a moment ago.

My son deserves an Oscar.

Aryan walked into the room, wearing a casual t-shirt and white trousers.

Whenever I see him, he always reminds me of my late husband, Aditya.

After all, they were twin brothers, separated by just a few minutes.

Aryan's POV:

I came over and took him in my arms. "Aww, you were missing me, jaan?" I asked in a baby voice.

He started kicking his legs in excitement."That's why you were crying?"He poked his tongue out, giggling.

Aww, my little one.I hugged him to my chest.

"I'm sorry, Chachu ki jaan, I was a little late coming from the office. But now I'm here, and we'll play a lot." I kissed his plump cheeks.

He giggled, caressing my cheek with both hands."

He's becoming naughtier by the day. You should have seen his great acting skills," Ankita said, eyeing Ansh.

Ansh looked at me with his innocent expressions.

"No, baby, you are a good boy. Your Mumma is just a bit jealous because you love your Chachu more than her, right?" I caressed his silky hair."

Excuse me, what did you just say?" Ankita asked, standing with her arms folded.

I smirked."What? I just told the truth, Ankita. My Jaan loves me the most," I shrugged.

You might be wondering why I call Ankita by her name. Since she is quite younger than me, she prefers it that way.

"No, my baby loves his Mumma more, right, baby?" She came closer, showing a toy car."

Hey, don't bribe my baby. You can't change the facts, Ankita,"

I glared at her, kissing Ansh's head.

"Yeah, keep dreaming," she rolled her eyes.

"You!!!" I pointed at her.

Suddenly, we realized we were arguing for no reason. Ansh was just looking at us with his big eyes, not understanding a thing.

We looked at each other and started laughing.

Ansh couldn't understand what was happening but joined in the giggles, probably finding it amusing.

The main reason I started this argument was to bring a smile to her face.

It's been four months since my brother passed away, and she has forgotten how to smile.

As for Ansh, I don't mind if he loves his Mumma more because a mother deserves everything.

Ankita's POV:

"Okay, let's leave this for now. We'll ask him directly when he grows a bit older," I said.

"Yeah, we'll see about that," Aryan gave me a challenging look.

I don't care who my baby loves more, me or Aryan. If he is happy, then I am happy, and that's all that matters to me.

"Then I'm going to the kitchen. Aryan, do you want something?" I asked him, who was busy playing with Ansh.

"Yeah, could you please make me a hot coffee?" he replied.

"Sure," I nodded.

As long as Aryan is with him, I don't have to worry about my son.
