Talia Stark sat there in the hospital bed, her breaths heavy as she closed her eyes from exhaustion. The sound of her baby screaming was the only thing that her mind was focused on. She wanted to hold her little girl tight to her chest, and smile down upon her as she planned the little girls entire life right then and there.

What she wasn't expecting was that when the little girl was given to her, that she would have the birthmark. It was planted beautifully on her collar bone, sitting in a perfect arrow shape and standing out above everything else. A gasp fell from her lips, looking up to her husband who was already staring at the arrow.

They smiled. The life she had planned for her daughter was immediately wiped clean, and replaced with a new one. Her daughter had a destiny to fulfill—a destiny in which only one other Stark had ever held. Her daughter was to be the best.

And Lilianna Rose Stark was exactly that. She was the best at everything she did, whether that be school, or whether that be picking up a bow and almost immediately hitting her target. She was the best of all of them. She learned quickly, she studied everything, she spent her entire life focusing on being the best at everything she did.

She took her time to learn about all of the supernatural creatures that roamed the earth—reading thousands of books, studying their strengths and weaknesses. Everything that she could find on the supernatural, she jammed it into her brain where it stayed their for her to recite whenever she fell upon one of the creatures.

Her brother, Grayson Stark, was proud of his little sister—little sister by a year of course. He was proud to call Lilianna his sibling, he was proud to show her off, to know that she was the best of all of them. The two were close with one another—spending their training days together, and sometimes even studying together. They had a closer bond than most siblings, and they weren't ashamed of it.

Lilianna understood that she was the best. She did. But what she didn't understand was the twisted destiny that had been laid upon her as soon as she had been brought to the world. She didn't understand what was going to become of her. She didn't understand that there was no way out. She followed the family code; we hunt those who hunt us. A famous saying that fell throughout all of the hunter families. A saying that she would have to face when her twisted destiny came into play.
