CHAPTER FIVE:
SHE'S A MIKAELSON

THEIR MOTHER WAS COMPLETELY SILENT. The family of three sat at the table, silently eating dinner with Greyson and Lilianna constantly exchanging glances with one another. They knew that something was up, and they couldn't help but eye their mother as they ate their food. They both looked up when the woman stood up, grabbing her plate and walking into the kitchen in order to put her empty dishes in the sink. Fear seemed to bubble in Lilianna's stomach as her mother made her way back to the table, sitting down and placing her elbows on the tables as she interlaced her fingers together.

Talia waited patiently for her children to finish eating, the older woman's jaw clenched as she waited for them to sit back down after placing their dishes in the sink. Lilianna swallowed thickly as she glanced towards her brother who only gave her a reassuring nod, hoping that what they knew was about to take place wouldn't. But this was their mother that they were talking about, and Lilianna had a feeling that her mother knew that she hadn't made any moves to start hunting down Hope Mikaelson.

Lilianna finally allowed a sigh to leave her lips as she leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked at her mother with slightly narrowed eyes. Her mother had a habit of scaring the girl, and yet Lilianna couldn't help but feel more annoyed than anything else. "Say it. Whatever the hell you're thinking, say it."

"What's gotten into you lately?" Were the first words that fell from Talia's lips. Lilianna cocked her head slightly. "You're usually on top of things that I give you, completing them usually in the day that it was given. So why am I just now finding out that you haven't even so much as searched up a possible location where this tribrid could be?"

"Mom, it's not that serious." Lilianna scoffed, shaking her head as she furrowed her eyebrows, a deep frown falling on her features. "You realize what you're asking me, right? I'm a hunter, okay? I'm simply human. Hope Mikaelson is our three worst nightmares all in one. And her vampire side may not be activated yet, but unless I find a way to kill her without her coming back to life, it will be. And the thing is, I've already told you this, so I don't understand why you're making me repeat myself."

"Honey, she's a Mikaelson." Talia spoke, her voice stern. "The Mikaelson's don't deserve to walk on this planet. Especially not the ones that have three different sides to them. When you leave this table, I expect you to go in there, find this girl, and have her head on a platter by tomorrow. Do you understand me?"

     "Mom―︎"

     "Lilianna, do you understand?"

Lilianna clenched her jaw as she nodded her head. "I understand." Her mother nodded in response before standing up and walking away from the table.

Lilianna sat there, Greyson looking in the direction their mother had gone before glancing towards his little sister. He could see the anger morphing onto her face as their mother's words echoed through her head. He didn't know what to say to her. He himself couldn't help but be angry with their mother. He always watched the older woman constantly put pressure on Lilianna, and there was nothing that he could do about it. His goal would always be to protect Lilianna, even if she was supposed to be the best of them. The thing he didn't realize until that very moment was that the only thing Lilianna needed protecting from, was their mother.

"I hate her." Lilianna whispered, shaking her head as frustrated tears formed in her eyes. She turned her head to look at Greyson, watching as an apologetic look crossed his face. Lilianna scoffed, swallowing thickly before standing up from the table and walking away. Greyson watched her leave, a sigh falling from his lips before he himself stood up and made his way to his room.

Lilianna sat on her bed, her eyes closed as she held her head in her hands. Her dark curls fell over her face as she shook her head, nothing but anger and frustration feeling her veins. Her mother made her so angry sometimes, and she just wished that she would back off. Hating the supernatural ran in their blood, that was the truth. The supernatural took her father away from her, so of course they hated them. Yet, Lilianna couldn't help but feel like there was more to her father's death than their mother was letting on. But she couldn't focus on that right now.

Right now, Lilianna had a job to do. Letting another sigh leave her lips, Lilianna stood up from her bed. She walked over to her desk, sitting down and opening her lap top. Placing her courser in the search bar, the huntress did what she did best. She started her mission on hunting down and finding the location of one Hope Mikaelson.
