Before he could say anything else, Arabella cupped his face in her hands and pressed her lips to his. Drew didn't hesitate to reciprocate the kiss back.

His hands instinctively found her hips, gripping them firmly as he pulled her closer, deepening the kiss without a second thought.

The moment consumed them. Arabella tilted her head to also deepen the kiss further, her fingers threading through Drew's hair. She tugged gently, getting a low, throaty groan from him that reverberated through her chest, sending a shiver down her spine.

Drew's hands roamed, sliding up her sides until they settled just beneath the hem of her shirt. His thumbs brushed against her skin, drawing lazy patterns on her hips that left her feeling dizzy.

He shifted slightly beneath her, breaking the kiss just enough to let his lips trail down the line of her jaw. When his mouth found the sensitive spot on her neck, Arabella let out a soft gasp, tilting her head to give him better access.

"You're gonna kill me," Drew muttered against her skin, his voice rough.

Arabella felt her pulse quicken. Drew moved lower, his lips grazing a spot that made her breath hitch. But before he could go any farther, Arabella brought his lips back to hers, capturing his mouth in another kiss. She didn't want to think, didn't want to feel anything, except him.

Their lips moved together, until Arabella finally pulled back. Both of them were breathless, their faces flushed. She pressed her forehead against his, her heart pounding in her chest.

Drew smirked, his expression smug. "I was not expecting that at all, but I'm definitely not complaining."

Arabella couldn't help but laugh. As her gaze traveled to Drew's mouth, she noticed smudges of her lipstick staining his already pink lips.

"You've got something," she said softly, her nose scrunching up.

"What?" Drew asked.

Arabella shifted slightly in his lap, earning a subtle groan from Drew, as she brought her thumb to his lips. Gently, she swiped at the smeared lipstick, her thumb lingering against his mouth longer than necessary. Drew hummed, his eyes never leaving hers, clearly enjoying her touch.

When she pulled her hand away, Drew's gaze flickered back to her lips, and he started leaning in to kiss her again. But to his surprise, Arabella dodged him, turning her head at the last second.

Drew furrowed his brows, confused. "What was that?"

Arabella suddenly stood, stepping up off his lap. Her sudden shift left Drew even more baffled.

"What happened?" Drew asked with curiosity—and maybe a little indignation. Who would dodge his kiss?

"Nothing," Arabella said quickly, clearing her throat in what was clearly a poor attempt to cover her nervousness. "I just remembered I have some work to do."

Drew raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "But—"

"Okay, bye!" Arabella cut him off, grabbing her bag and practically bolting away before he could say another word.

She left Drew sitting there, confusion written all over his face. He ran a hand through his hair, replaying the scene in his head.
