It's the trap you've been waitin' for

𝔹𝔸ℂ𝕂 in the Addams manor, a horrified scream pierced the eerie calm, echoing through the house. Gomez and Morticia rushed towards the nursery, their hearts pounding with dread. As they flung open the door, they were greeted by a shocking sight: the once gloomy and macabre nursery walls, which Lilith had lovingly painted with dark, whimsical scenes, had transformed into a more child-friendly atmosphere. The room was now a bright, cheerful baby blue.

Grandma turned to them, her face etched with concern. "Stay back! He's very sick."

Gomez and Morticia exchanged worried glances before stepping inside. They approached the crib with trepidation, peering over the edge. There lay Pubert, but he was unrecognizable. His once black hair had turned into a mop of blonde curls, his pale skin was now flushed with rosy cheeks, and his little mustache was gone. He wore pastel-colored baby clothes and had a bright, unsettling smile on his face.

Morticia looked at her transformed son with a mix of worry and disbelief. "My baby!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with horror.

The shock was too much for Gomez. He staggered, then fainted dramatically, collapsing next to Morticia and Grandma.

"Lumbar, dison, pox and thither, curad, battle, bone and brine!" Grandma chanted as she, Lurch, Morticia, and Gomez gathered in the basement. Pubert lay on the table, giggling cheerfully at Grandma's chant. "Bone and brine!" Grandma exclaimed with dramatic flair. After a few more moments of chanting, she sighed in frustration. "Well, he's stubborn. It works on cats."

Morticia, her voice laden with concern, asked, "What are we going to do?"

Gomez, equally worried, added, "Is it hopeless?"

Grandma turned to her ancient spell book, flipping through the pages quickly. "Here it is. Chapter 18: Infant Possessions."

Gomez stared at her in disbelief. "He's possessed?"

Grandma continued reading from the page, her voice grave. "Severe alterations in appearance and personality. Such alterations can become permanent." Morticia's eyes widened with horror as she looked at Pubert, her voice trembling. "Permanent? Those golden curls?"

"Those rosy cheeks?"

"That smile?"

"These terrifying changes are most often the result of a troubled family life. Separations," Grandma read aloud, her voice serious. "Separations? You mean..." Gomez began, his mind racing. "Fester!" Morticia interjected, looking at her husband with realization. Grandma looked at them and exclaimed, "Bingo! This kid knows something is not right around here. Unless Fester comes back, we're talking dimples."

Gomez's eyes widened with determination as he declared, "Not in this house."

Grandma continued, her tone grave, "He could stay this way for years. Forever. He could become a lawyer."

"I won't listen!" Gomez exclaimed, turning away in denial, his hands covering his ears as if to block out the horrifying words. But Grandma continued relentlessly, "An orthodontist."

"Mama, stop!" Morticia pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. She could not bear to hear any more dreadful possibilities for her son's future. Grandma looked up at them, her expression serious, and delivered the final blow. "President." This was the breaking point for Gomez. He fell to his knees, looking up with tears in his eyes as he pleaded, "Please! I beg you, take me!" With that, he broke down into sobs, the weight of the potential fate for Pubert too much for him to bear.

"Each summer, we take this occasion to celebrate a seminal event in American history," Gary announced through the microphone, his voice booming across the outdoor amphitheater filled with parents sitting eagerly on the benches.

"This year," Becky added with a wide smile, "we depict perhaps the most important day in our shared past—the first Thanksgiving!"

"A day for maize," Gary continued, "the Native American word for corn, a terrific turkey dinner, and brotherhood! So, white meat and dark meat, take it away!"

With that cue, the stage burst into life. Campers dressed as various foods and turkeys leaped onto the stage, their costumes a riot of colorful feathers, oversized corn cobs, and exaggerated drumsticks. Pugsley, clad in a giant turkey costume, emerged from behind a set piece designed to resemble a rustic building. The scene was set for an unforgettable performance.

The campers began their song with energetic gusto:

"Eat us. Hey, it's Thanksgiving Day.

Eat us, we make a nice buffet.

We lost the race with Farmer Ed.

Eat us 'cause we're good and dead."

They mimicked the motion of being shot, their heads lolling dramatically to one side, before continuing with even more enthusiasm:

"White man or red man from East, North, or South.

Chop off our legs and put 'em in your mouth."

As they sang, Pugsley stepped forward, his large turkey costume bouncing humorously with his movements. With a melodramatic flourish, he belted out his solo line:

"Eat me."

The audience couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all, their amusement blending with the campy charm of the performance. Parents snapped pictures and recorded videos, capturing the moment their children hilariously celebrated Thanksgiving through the lens of Camp Chippewa's unique interpretation.

"Sauteed or barbecued."

"Eat me."

"We once were pets, but now we're food. We won't stay fresh for very long. So eat us before we finish this song. Eat us before we finish this song." With those final lines, the campers executed their last choreographed moves, twirling and clapping as they sang with infectious enthusiasm. Pugsley, still in his giant turkey suit, flapped his wings exaggeratedly, adding to the humor of the scene.

The campers struck their final pose, arms outstretched and grins wide, as the song came to an end. The audience erupted into applause and cheers, delighted by the quirky and spirited performance. Parents stood up, clapping and whistling, their laughter echoing through the open space. Gary and Becky, standing off to the side, exchanged pleased smiles.
