Y/n picked up his bag and was about to leave when suddenly someone placed their arms on top of his shoulder

Annoyed, he turned to face the person and sighed

“Where ya' going?” Atsumu asked while his twin brother Osamu stands at the side uninterested

Y/n ignored the twins and went on his way before shrugging atsumu's arm off of his shoulders, The twins watched as the Y/n continued walking without looking back

“He's cool.” Atsumu said smiling as he turned to face his other twin who just sighed

“What do you mean Hinata just crashed the camp.” Y/n asked through the mic of his earphone while tying up his shoelace

“I was surprised too! He just showed up despite not being invited.”

Shirabu was on the other line telling all the events that was happening back in shiratorizawa

“I see, I gotta go.” Y/n answered before ending the call and meeting up with the others

While walking he could feels eyes burning holes at the back of his head, he ignored them but something made him to stop walking when a random ball went flying towards him and hits his shoulder

“Ah! Sorry 'bout that”

Y/n picked up the ball and slowly turned to face the person behind it and mentally rolled his eyes when he saw Atsumu jogging towards him with his smile

“Next time watch where you're spiking.” Y/n said before handing the ball back to the male

“How 'bout a match?” Atsumu asked

“Not in the mood.” Y/n said before walking away

Kageyama watched the entire interaction and couldn't help but to feel uneasy towards the two players, he wanted to follow Y/n and probably talk to him but his guts are telling him otherwise

Minutes later the coach gathered the players and announced a match, kageyama felt his hand goes cold when suddenly he heard that he's going to be the setter for Y/n's team

Their opponent being the twins which irked Y/n as Atsumu waved at him, he turned and faced Kageyama instead

“L/n-senpai, I'll do my best!” Kageyama bowed, his heart was about to drop at the thought of being ignored by his senior when suddenly he felt a hand tapped his shoulder

“Let's win this.” Y/n said before getting in position

Not long after the game has started, Atsumu tossed a ball towards his teammate who spiked it down but was saved by Komori, The libero of Y/n's team

The ball was send flying towards Kageyama who tossed it to their wing spiker, Sakusa Kiyoomi which was saved and sent back to their side of the court

Y/n watched as Kageyama leaped up and aimed to spike the ball unaware of the middle blocker watching his moves and successfully blocked him sending the ball back

“Komori!” Y/n yelled as the Libero jumped down to save it

Kageyama watched the ball and tossed it like how he and Hinata would often do, however the only problem here is that...

Hinata wasn't there..

“Oh crap.” Kageyama realized what he has done and was about to apologize when suddenly someone ran passed him

The others watched in awe as Y/n ran from the other side towards the ball and jumped, his palm made contact with the rubber and slammed it straight down barely missing the middle blocker earlier

His eyes locked with the blocker who just narrowed his eyebrows at him before turning away.

“L/n-senpai! it was a habit, sorry about that.” Kageyama ran towards the male and bowed while Y/n just hummed in response

“I guess it's true huh.”

“What is it?”

“That he's Shiratorizawa's ace.”

“No wonder Ushijima-san made him an ace.”

“He's so cool! I wanna be friends with him.”

Y/n couldn't help but to overhear the other players talking about him, something inside him felt warm knowing that he was no longer being called prodigy and instead he was now known as Shiratorizawa's ace

Night has come and now they're all inside the dorm eating their meals, Kageyama sat beside Y/n who didn't mind his company

There was also another one who sat by them, he seemed to remember Kageyama from their previous match

“Karasuno took down Shiratorizawa and they're headed to Nationals now, that's amazing.” Chigaya said

Kageyama nearly choked on his food before slowly gazing towards Y/n who seemed unbothered

“We lost in full sets at the finals, we thought we had it in the bag.” Chigaya chuckled

“Oi.”

The two stopped eating while Y/n continued to ignore them, however, the conversation the three were having finally caught his attention

“I haven't had a chance to watch the video replay yet, but why'd shiratorizawa lose?” Sakusa asked

Y/n side eyed Kageyama who visibly stiffened

“Was Wakatoshi-kun having an off game?” Sakusa asked again

Kageyama placed down his chopsticks and turned to face Sakusa before speaking

“looked like he was in tip top form to me.” Kageyama said

Y/n nearly let's out a snort when he heard what Kageyama just said

“Say what?” Sakusa asked confused

His next question made the atmosphere became tense as Y/n felt someone looking at him, it was no doubt that Sakusa was definitely looking at him

“If that's the case then why'd he lose? Was there someone to slow him down?” Sakusa asked, putting emphasis on the word someone as he continued staring at Y/n

Kageyama was about to answer when suddenly Y/n placed down his bowl of rice and slowly turned to look at Sakusa and he was right, Sakusa was indeed staring at him

“Can you go? You're making our food sour.” Y/n said

“I wasn't talking to you.” Sakusa said

“But you're talking about my team, don't you think it's a bit disrespectful knowing that I can hear you.” Y/n reasoned

“Oh and if you're wondering, Yes, there was indeed someone who slowed Ushijima-san down.” Y/n said before standing up and grabbing his tray filled with half eaten foods

“His name is Hinata Shoyo, now if you'll excuse me I'll go somewhere I can't hear you talking.” Y/n said before bowing and leaving the table

Sakusa watched as Y/n sat down beside the Miya twins surprising Atsumu who immediately threw his arm around his shoulder irking Y/n

“Describe him.” Sakusa said

“Huh? Oh Hinata? He's our middle block-” Kageyama was cut off when Sakusa shakes his head and nodded his head towards Y/n

“Him, L/n, Describe him, how does he play?” Sakusa asked

'How does L/N-san play...?'

“Well, he's...a monster.”
