𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋 stood in the kitchen, preparing a cup of coffee. As he picked up his coffee cup, he smiled, but his smile faded, as he dropped his coffee cup on the ground.

"What the hell are you doing? You come to my house? Are you insane?" Daniel yelled, walking out back to where Johnny stood

"I was trying to make things right, let the past be the past. You still can't leave well enough alone, man." Johnny spat

"What are you even talking about?" Daniel asked. "You got Cobra Kai reinstated."

"I'm talking about my car." Johnny said angrily

"What about your car?" Daniel asked, as he was now confused

"Nice try, those goons could have burned down my whole neighborhood." Johnny said

"Goons? What goons?" Daniel asked

"Don't try to play dumb, son of a bitch gave you up right away." Johnny spat. "Don't worry I took care of him and his biker posse."

"Louie. All right, listen. I don't know what the hell happened, but I had nothing to do with it. that was my cousin." Daniel said

"Big surprise. All you LaRussos are the same. Your whole family, man is rotten to the core." Johnny said as he stepped closer to Daniel.

"All right, watch it Johnny!" Daniel said

"Kick his ass, dad." Anthony encouraged

"Anthony, just go inside!" Daniel said.

"Listen to your dad kid, you're not gonna wanna see this." Johnny threatened.

"Hey! I'm gonna ask you nicely, you get the hell off my property or I'm calling the police." Daniel said

"Oh yeah, you afraid?" Johnny asked

"You know, this is ridiculous." Daniel said as he pulled his phone out of his back pocket. "Listen-" Johnny grabbed Daniel's arm, then the two of them got into fighting stance. "You wanna go now?!" Daniel yelled. "Come on Johnny! You wanna do this? Let's go. Come on."

"What is going on?" Amanda asked as she walked up to the back patio door, Brooke, Whitney, Kaitlin, and Farrah beside her, and Mason stood next to Anthony.

"Dad's about to fight this guy." Anthony said excitedly

"Dude, shut the fuck up." Mason mumbled, rolling his eyes in annoyance

"Amanda, just take the kids and go inside okay? This is between me and Sensei Lawrence." Daniel said

"Yeah, you two seem to have this in hand. Just a normal Saturday morning, a couple of grown men about to kick each other into a pool? You know, as much as I would love to watch you and your childhood karate rival duke it out, I kinda don't want to get any blood on the patio. So what do you say we resolve this over some breakfast instead?" Amanda suggested

"You wanna go inside?" Daniel asked

"I could eat." Johnny said

In the kitchen, Brooke, Whitney, Kaitlin, and Farrah helped Amanda prepare breakfast, while Mason diffused the situation between Johnny and Daniel. Once breakfast was placed on the table, Brooke sat next to Daniel and her cousins, and Mason sat next to Johnny, but the two karate rivals glared at one another.

"So Johnny, I hear you run a dojo." Amanda said, trying to keep the peace. "That's nice."

"Yeah, it was nice, until your husband got my rent doubled." Johnny said.

"Ok you spray painted a dick on my face." Daniel said.

"You tried to get me banned from the All Valley." Johnny argued

"Ok, guys. Let's not do this." Amanda said

"He torched my car!" Johnny said

"I did not torch your car." Daniel said. "I'm the guy who had your car fixed, remember?"

"It wouldn't have needed to be fixed if your daughter and her friends hadn't wrecked it in the first place." Johnny said

"Oh, we're going there." Brooke said quietly as she ate a piece of bacon, and her cousins awkwardly picked at their food

"What is he talking about?" Amanda asked

"He's full of shit, is what he's talking about." Daniel said. "That car reeked of whiskey. He was probably half in the bag and wrapped it around a telephone pole."

"Yeah, ask your daughter." Johnny said as he ate his eggs.

"No, you know what, I've enjoyed this trip down memory lane, but some of us have places to be." Daniel said as he stood up.

"I'm not leaving until I get payback for my car." Johnny said

"I told you I had nothing to do with it." Daniel said

"Someone did." Johnny said.

"Luckily, we know someone with a car dealership who can help." Amanda said

Brooke, Whitney, Kaitlin, Farrah, and Mason looked at Daniel, then Daniel and Amanda stepped out. "I'm sorry for what Louie did." Brooke said. "He's got the short end of the stick."

"Don't worry about it kid. How's your mom?" Johnny asked

"Good." Mason said as he finished his eggs. "The art museum has paintings coming in from eastern Europe today."

Johnny was about to take another bite of his eggs, and the twins and the girls were talking amongst themselves when Anthony stood in the doorway. "You're lucky my dad didn't kill you." Anthony said

"Yeah? You're lucky I didn't kill him." Johnny said.

"I'm gonna tell him you said that." Anthony said.

Mason rolled his eyes, then stood up to put his plate in the sink. "Get lost, Anthony."

"Good. I want him to know." Johnny said. "You guys got any ketchup?"

"Yeah, get it yourself." Anthony said as he walked away. "Douchebag."

Brooke rolled her eyes and stood up as she grabbed the ketchup for Johnny. "Here. Listen, we've got to go, but we'll see you soon."

"You want me to give this son of a bitch a car?" Daniel asked, pointing towards Johnny

"You heard what Louie did." Amanda said, as she gave the twins and the girls a side embrace, then she kissed their temples

"Oh, please, don't even get me started on Louie." Daniel said, as he gave the twins and the girls a side embrace

"I'm not saying give him an Audi, not even an acura." Amanda said as the twins and the girls walked out the front door. "Just give him something from the trade in-lot."

"After everything this guy's done, I've gotta be the one to make amends?" Daniel asked

Amanda sighed. "Just give him a car, and get him out of your life forever." she said

The soft tune of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide played on the radio as Missie sat in her office answering emails, and organizing files on her desk. As she took a sip of her morning coffee, her phone began to ring, with an incoming call from Brooke. She reached over and turned down the radio, and answered her daughter's call, and put it on speaker. "Hi honey."

"Hey ma. How's work? The girls and Mason are here too." Brooke said. "We decided to stay home from work today, as we have plenty of PTOs."

"Oh, hi honey! Hi girls! Work is fine." Missie said, as she took off her glasses and leaned back in the chair and sipped her coffee. "It's rather slow. Are you all okay?"

"We're fine. But mom, something happened this morning at uncle Dan and aunt Amanda's." Mason said

"Are they all right?" Missie asked in concern. "Do I need to go over there?"

"They're all right, but uncle Dan's cousin Louie torched Johnny's car." Whitney said. "Aunt Amanda was pissed."

"Louie did what? Why?" Missie asked, sipping her coffee

"Our guess, it has to do with the billboard." Kaitlin said.

"While we ate breakfast uncle Dan and Johnny went back in forth about the hit and run involving Sam and her friends, and so on." Farrah said. "Aunt Amanda mentioned something about giving Johnny a car from the trade in lot."

"I'll talk to Johnny about it later. I'm sorry you guys had to witness that fight. But that's been going on long before you four were even born." Missie said

"It's fine ma." Brooke said. "Are you still up to go to the tournament tomorrow?"

"Of course." Missie said. "You guys have fun today. I love you guys, and I'll see you later."

"Love you too."

After Missie, her children, and her nieces said their goodbyes, she hung up the phone and Kathy, Lana, and Beth walked in the door. "Hey hon." Beth said

"Hey hon." Missie smiled as she set her phone down. "That was the kids."

"How are they?" Beth asked as she grabbed a couple of cokes from the mini fridge

"They're good, but when they went to Daniel and Amanda's this morning Johnny showed up." Missie said

"Oh dear." Kathy said as she opened her diet coke can. "Was it World War 3?"

"You could say that. Apparently Daniel's cousin Louie torched Johnny's car, as payback for the billboard." Missie said.

"So what's Johnny gonna do about a car?" Lana asked, opening her coke can.

"Well, the kids said that Amanda convinced Daniel to give him a car from the trade in lot." Missie said. "Let's see how it goes, shall we?"

"Okay, choose." Daniel said as he and Johnny stood in a car lot at the dealership.

"I thought you sold porsches." Johnny said.

"Yeah, right, in your dreams." Daniel scoffed. "Pick one out and get the hell out of here. I don't have all day. What about this one?" he asked, pointing to a green forester

"A forester? Do I look like a lesbo?" Johnny asked

"Every one of these vehicles is worth more than that bucket of bolts you were driving." Danidl said as they continued walking through the lot.

"That bucket of bolts had a lot of memories." Johnny said.

"Yeah, whatever." Daniel scoffed. "What's so special about it anyway?"

"If you wanna know, it's the car I bought with my own money." Johnny said, then saw a red dodge charger. "This one's not half bad."

"It's a 2009 challenger, 5.8 liter." Daniel said

"Five point seven." Johnny corrected.

"What? You know cars?" Daniel said.

"What kind of man doesn't?" Johnny asked.

"All right, wiseass. I'll get the keys and you get the hell out of here." Daniel said

"What's wrong with it?" Johnny questioned

"What do you mean? You think I sell lemons?" Daniel asked.

"I don't trust you." Johnny said

"All right, fine. You want a test drive I'll give you a goddamn test drive." Dabiel said. after asking Tammy for the keys, Johnny and Daniel got in the challenger and Johnny sped off into the busy street. "Come on now. Take it easy. This car isn't technically your's yet."

"Relax Danielle." Johnny said. "How many speakers does this thing have?"

"It has enough." Daniel said, then turned on the radio, which was playing Take it on the Run by REO Speedwagon. "There you go."

"You like Speedwagon?" Johnny asked

"What kind of man doesn't?" Daniel asked. "But if you don't like it, I mean..."

"No, no, it's alright." Johnny said, and the two sang along to the radio.

After making a stop at stop by Daniel's old apartment complex in Reseda, he and Johnny sat at a bar drinking, as an awkward silence filled the table. "So... your stepdad was an asshole, huh? Back in the day, I figured you were living the life. Fancy cars, motorbikes." he said

"It had its moments. Then I'd come home and pretty much get bullied every day." Johnny said as the bartender gave them their drinks. "That's why I joined Cobra Kai. Kreese gave me more attention than I ever got at home. The guy was more than a sensei to me. He was basically... a father. Anyway you wouldn't understand."

"My dad died when I was 8. Mr. Miyagi was like a father to me. It's crazy man, both finding karate role models." Daniel said

"Yeah, except your's didn't break your trophy and try to kill you." Johnny said

"This is true." Daniel agreed, then turned to the bartender. "You know what, get me a ketel martini straight up, couple of olives, ice, ice cold."

"And two more of these." Johnny said as he held up his beer. After the two were served their drinks, Daniel and Johnny reminisced about their high school days. "I mean there was spaghetti all over your face, man it was hilarious."

"There wasn't any spaghetti on my face." Daniel said. "It was on my chest and that sauce burned."

"That's even funnier, man." Johnny laughed

"Hey laugh all you want." Daniel said. "I heard Ali clocked you right after that." 

"Yeah, I had it coming." Johnny said. "She was always protective of Missie."

"So you and Missie." Daniel said. "She told me you two were talking again. To tell you the truth, she seems happy. I haven't seen her that happy since Jack."

"All I ever wanted was for her to find someone who was good to her." Johnny said. "It killed me to have to let her go."

Missie sat in the dining room of Ronnie and Sheila's Encino Hills home. Brooke had a date with Landon and Mason was out with his friends, so she was having dinner with her parents. 

"So will you two be at the tournament tomorrow?" Missie asked as she took a sip of her wine.

"We'll be there. I think it's crazy Johnny bringing back Cobra Kai after what Kreese did to him the night after the tournament." Ronnie said

"He said he's trying to change it." Missie said as she ate her lasagna.

"Well, I just hope for his sake he can." Sheila said. "Are Brooke and Jesse in Cobra Kai?"

"No." Missie said. "I couldn't even get them to show interest when Daniel and Mr. Miyagi would try to teach them."

"Well, sweetheart they knew what they wanted to do." Ronnie said. "By the way, what happened with Louie torching Johnny's car?"

"Brooke and Mason called you?" Missie asked and her parents nodded. "The kids called me at work this afternoon and said while they were at Daniel and Amanda's, Johnny showed up and said that Louie torched his car."

"Why?" Ronnie asked as he set his wine glass down

"Remember when that dick was spray painted on Daniel's billboard?" Missie asked, and Sheila and Ronnie nodded. "Anyway, it was Johnny. Louie  torched Johnny's car, and Amanda convinced Daniel to give him a car from the trade in lot. I just hate that the kids had to witness the fight."

"Sweetheart, they were bound to witness it sooner or later." Ronnie said as he wiped his hands on a napkin

Later, Missie looked in on her sleeping children. She saw Brooke had fallen asleep with Jack's picture clutched in her arm. Placing the picture of Jack back on her nightstand, Missie kissed Brooke's head, placed the covers over her, turned out the lamp and quietly closed the door.

Missie walked across the hall and she placed the comforter over a sleeping Mason, kissed his forehead, turned out the lamp and quietly closed the door.

After walking in her own bedroom, Missie did her nightly routine, put her on her nightgown, then laid down in bed. Before she could even turn out the lamp, her phone rang. She looked at the caller id, which read Johnny

"Johnny? Are you okay?" Missie asked

"Did you know LaRusso was training my son?" Johnny asked

"No. Johnny, what are you talking about?" Missie asked

"After LaRusso and I got back to his place after looking for another car, Robby was there. Turns out, LaRusso's been training him." Johnny said

"Johnny, I'm so sorry." Missie said. "I can promise you, I had no idea."

"I believe you." Johnny said. "I don't want to get you involved again, but are you still coming tomorrow?"

"Hon, I got involved when I slapped your ass 34 years ago." Missie laughed, making Johnny laugh as well. "Yes, I'll be there."

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow." Johnny said.

"See you tomorrow." Missie smiled. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, princess." Johnny said

After the two said their goodbyes, Missie ended the call, placed her phone on the nightstand, and went to sleep, ignoring the sinking feeling in her stomach, the same feeling she had 34 years ago.
