══════ஓ๑❀*̥๑ஓ══════

"𝐈 swear grandpa, you and grandma took the best photos." Brooke smiled as she, Whitney, Kaitlin, and Farrah sat in the Encino residence and looked through different photo albums and Fire and Rain by James Taylor softly played on the turn table.

"Are you sure they were taken in the 60's? They look like professionally taken, not to mention the quality is great." Brooke said

"Thanks honey. Most of them were taken by your grandmother. She's always believed a picture tells a story." Ronnie said as he looked through photos as well

Sheila smiled as she came into the living room, with a cracker and cheese tray. "Yes, because that's what my mother always told me."

Brooke smiled as she continued looking through the photos. She smiled when she came across a photo that Jack had taken of Missie, Ali, Beth, Kathy, and Lana when Missie was four months pregnant, wearing her favorite maternity dress and the matching headband. "Mom is practically glowing in this photo." she said as she held the photo in her hands.

"Aunt Missie never ages I swear." Kaitlin said, sipping her iced tea

Sheila smiled as she glanced at the photo her granddaughter was holding. "She was four months preganant with you and your brother. Your aunt Ali was in Chicago from San Diego for a few days, and while we were visiting as well, your father decided to snap a photo."

Brooke and her cousins continued to look through the photo albums and boxes, when she came across a photo of Missie and Ali in the Gray home together in 1984. "Mom and aunt Ali were joined at the hip huh?" Brooke smiled as she looked at the photo

"Look at aunt Ali's flawless curls." Whitney smiled. "Loves it."

"Yes. Those two were inseparable." Sheila said. "I was glad she had found a best friend in Ali, and even in your mothers and Beth. We're happy to have all of you as part of family."

"We love you too grandma Sheila." Farrah smiled

"Here's a good photo of you, grandma." Brooke smiled, as she and her cousins looked at the photo of Sheila, who was 6-7 months pregnant with Missie

"I took that after we had bought our first house in Hinsdale." Ronnie smiled

"Not to mention it was in the dead of summer time." Sheila smiled.

"Yes, but you were always smiling dear." Ronnie smiled. "Even on your worst days."

Brooke smiled, then turned her attention back to the photos as she found a photo of Missie and Jack together in 1991. "Can I keep this?" Brooke asked

"Of course you can sweetheart." Sheila smiled as Missie placed the photo in her purse.

"So how are things going with Landon?" Kaitlin asked as she placed the photo album back in the box. "I know you two are taking things slow."

"They're going great." Brooke said. "He's bought me pink roses every payday, which he knows are my favorite."

"That's wonderful honey." Sheila smiled, then sipped her coffee. "What else has happened? Anything exciting?"

"You know mom reconnected with Johnny Lawrence." Brooke said, running a hand through her long brunette hair

"Yeah, she told me." Sheila said. "How's that going?"

"She seems happy." Brooke said. "He reopened Cobra Kai, so they haven't really had a chance to go out or anything-"

"Who, go back a little; he brought back Cobra Kai? After everything the sensei did to those boys?" Ronnie said. "Do your uncles know?"

"No." Brooke said. "Besides, I think uncle Bobby will lose his shit."

"There's no thinking to it." Farrah said, sipping her iced tea. "Knowing uncle Bobby, he will."

"Brooke, they're going to find out eventually. now you have our word, we're not going to say anything, but it's just a matter of time before they find out." Sheila said

It was 5:30 pm when Brooke pulled into the reseda strip mall, with Whitney in the passenger seat, and Kaitlin and Farrah in the backseat. After spending the morning with her grandparents and her cousins, the four girls spent the afternoon together, and decided to head to Reseda.

As Brooke put the car in park, the girls placed their sunglasses on top of her heads, and the cousins got out of the car and walked into the dojo. As they walked in, they saw miguel was the only one in the dojo.

"Hey kiddo." Brooke smiled as she embraced the teen. "How are things going with Sam?"

"Oh, hey girls." Miguel smiled. "It's great, she's great."

"I'm happy for you hon." Brooke smiled

"We're happy for you babes." Whitney smiled

Johnny walked out of the office, and smiled at his nieces as miguel walked over to the bench and grabbed his phone. "Hey girls." Johnny smiled as he brought the four in for an embrace. "Brooke, how's your mom?"

"She's good." Brooke smiled. "So, why is Miguel the only one here? Did everyone else quit?"

"Because, he's probably my only shot at winning this thing." Johnny said

"So does that mean I'm your best student?" Miguel asked

"Don't flatter yourself. Have you seen the others?" Johnny said as Miguel looked to his phone and laughed. "What's so funny?"

"Oh, nothing, just this funny picture my girlfriend posted." Miguel said, showing Johnny the phone

Johnny looked at the phone then snatched it from miguel's hands. "Wait a second. Is that Daniel LaRusso's daughter?" he asked somewhat angrily

"Yeah, you know Samantha?" Miguel asked

"You're dating a LaRusso?" Johnny asked.

"Yeah, why? Is something wrong?" Miguel asked

Brooke sighed as she ran a hand through her long brunette hair. "C'mon Johnny, so what if he's dating Sam? Big deal. He's happy."

Johnny looked at Miguel then at Brooke, Farrah, Sophia, and Ashley and sighed. "We need to talk."

Miguel changed out of his gi, and Johnny grabbed five beers from the fridge as well as a coke for Miguel. The group sat up against the wall in the dojo, with Miguel sitting on one side of Johnny, Brooke sitting on the other, and Whitney sat on the other side of Brooke, Kaitlin sat on the other side of Whitney, and Farrah sat on the other side of Kaitlin.

"It was the summer of '82. Rocky 3 had just come out. My buddy Dutch was a huge Mr. T fan, so we went to the local theater to check it out. Sitting in front of us was this group of cute chicks, eating popcorn. Dutch started throwing Milk Duds at 'em." Johnny said

"Wha - why would he do that?" Miguel asked, softly laughing

"Because it's an alpha move, man. Babes love it when you treat them like crap." Johnny said, earning an eyeroll from Brooke, and her cousins. "Anyway, the girls got so pissed off, that one of them stood up and started yelling at us. that's when I saw her for the first time." Johnny said

"Saw who?" Whitney asked

"Ali. She dumped popcorn all over Dutch, got melted butter all over him." Johnny laughed. "I could tell right away this girl was a firecracker."

"So, did you ask her out?" Kaitlin asked

"Yeah, I hit on her a few times till she gave me a chance. We went to Golf N' Stuff for our first date. kissed on the Ferris Wheel. We were madly in love. Dated for two years. For Valentine's Day, instead of rings, I gave her this pink jelly bracelet, and she gave me a black headband for karate." Johnny said.

"So, then what happened?" Miguel asked.

"Summer before my senior year, we got into a fight. I figured we'd work things out eventually. But then Daniel LaRusso came to town." Johnny said with venom in his voice "Next thing I know, he's hitting on her. I see the two of them flirting with each other."

"What'd you do?" Farrah asked, as she and her cousins took a swig of their beers

"Well, I walked over to have a civil conversation with Ali, but LaRusso kept butting in. I told him to get lost, mind your own business. Out of nowhere, the guy sucker-punches me." Johnny said

"What an asshole." Miguel said

"I know man. I did what any dude would do. I defended myself. You know, I figured that was that. but LaRusso wouldn't leave it alone. At the Halloween dance, I was sitting there, minding my own business, he douses me with a water hose. I hadn't seen the guys in months. Fricking turns a water hose on my head. So I chase him down, try to put an end to things that night. Right? Turns out the guy's got a karate master of his own. Guy comes out of nowhere, jumps us, assaults me and my friends. I think my buddy Tommy got brain damage because of that fight." Johnny said. "Eventually we decided to settle things at the tournament."

"What happened at the tournament?" Whitney asked, taking a swig of her beer

"I didn't have much of a cheering section, because everyone was cheering LaRusso on, but there was this one girl who did." Johnny said.

"Who was it?" Kaitlin asked.

"Missie." Johnny smiled, as a wave of pure love, longing, and nostalgia crossed over his face. "You know, after Ali I didn't think I would find anyone like her again, then I met Missie, and I was sure that was going to last forever. She was the true love of my life."

"How did the two of you meet?" Miguel asked

"It was the last night of summer, and my buddies and I went to a beach party to celebrate the last night of summer, the same beach party Ali and LaRusso were at. That's when I saw Missie for the first time and broke her radio. She even slapped the shit out of me." Johnny said

"I would have too." Brooke laughed. "So, when did the two of you start dating?"

"I followed your mom around until she gave me a chance. Bought her a new radio, we eventually started dating. I thought I was madly in love with Ali, but your mom, your mom is who I always loved." Johnny said. "The night before the tournament, I gave her a ring, and she gave me this." he said as he pulled out the black headband he uses for karate. "We dated after high school, then in college, we drifted apart. I was glad to know she married a good man."

"Just from the time I met her in the dojo, she was awesome." Miguel smiled

"She is." Brooke smiled. "Just don't cross her though."

"She's still the same." Johnny smiled. "She's still as beautiful as the day I first saw her."

"Well Johnny, it sounds like you guys had a pretty eventful summer." Whitney chuckled as she finished her beer

"It really was." Johnny smiled. "Brooke, your mom was something special. There was just something about her."
