══════ஓ๑❀*̥๑ஓ══════

Flashback
— Spring, 2011; Chicago, IL

The soft hum of the radio was the only sound in the Pearson household as Jack, Daniel, Tommy, Bobby, and Jimmy lounged on the sofa. Meanwhile, Missie and the girls, along with the children, were out shopping for dinner.

"Here's another beer for you guys." Jack said, giving the guys a beer.

"Thanks, man," Tommy said as he opened his beer and noticed Jack wasn't drinking beer but cola instead. "Didn't want one?"

Jack shook his head. "No, I promised Missie I would quit. I've been going to A.A. meetings after work."

"You feel like it's helping?" Daniel asked setting his beer down, and turning to his best friend.

"Yeah, I do," Jack replied. "Whenever I feel the urge to drink, I either hit the punching bag or go for a run. Sometimes, Brooke and Jesse join me."

"Hey, you know we're here for you." Jimmy said. "Anything you need, just ask."

"There is something you guys can do for me. You have have to promise me you'll go through with it." Jack said

"Jack, you're our best friend." Bobby said. "We'll do anything you need us to do."

"If anything happens to me, I want you to promise me you'll take care of Missie, my sisters, and the kids." Jack said. "I know you'll do it, but please make a promise to me."

"Of course we will," Bobby said, and Daniel, Tommy, and Jimmy nodded in agreement. "No questions asked."

Aside from the constant ringing of phones, the only thing heard in Missie's office was the soft sound of the radio playing Fleetwood Mac's Dreams. As she hummed along, a knock resonated on the door.

"Come in," Missie said, adjusting her glasses on her face.

"Hey hon." Beth said as she, Kathy, and Lana walked into the office, a coffee cup in each of their hands. "We haven't seen you all morning, so we figured you could use a little pick-me up." she smiled as she set the coffee cup on the desk.

Missie turned around in her chair and smiled at her best friends. "Thank you. How are things up front?"

"Aside from the constant ringing of the phones, it's been pretty slow." Beth said.

"You've been quiet since Valley Fest. You still thinking about Cobra Kai interupting Miyagi-Dos performance?" Kathy asked

Missie leaned back in her chair and ran a hand through her brunette hair. "I mean yes and no. As we were leaving I saw Johnny's old sensei, Kreese."

"Wait a second, the one who tried to kill Johnny, and hurt the guys?" Lana asked

"That's the one," Missie declared. "Apparently, he's now helping Johnny. Johnny and I had a fight about it, but everything is fine now."

"Just from everything we've heard from you and Dan, I hope he doesn't open pandora's box." Lana said.

"I don't know, I have a bad feeling about it." Missie said, running a hand through her hair

"Please, Brooke and Jesse, don't go over there," Beth said. "I know Johnny would never harm them, but Kreese, that's a different story."

"No, I've already told the kids they're to stay away." Missie replied. Before anyone could respond, Missie's phone rang, and her best friend and sisters-in-law walked to the front. "Hello?"

"Hey princess. I just got a call from Bobby." Johnny said

"Is everything all right?" Missie asked

"Tommy's getting worse. The guys and I are going up to see him. You want to go with me?" Johnny said.

"Of course." Missie smiled. "I'll meet you there."

Brooke sat at her desk, diligently working on payroll while Keith Whitley's "I Wonder Do You Think of Me" played softly in the background. As she continued her work, her phone vibrated on the desk, which was an incoming call from Missie.

"Hey Mom," Brooke said, placing the phone on speaker. "What's going on?"

"I'm on my way up to see your uncle Tommy. Johnny got a call from your uncle Bobby, and Tommy's taken a turn for the worse." Missie said, exiting off the freeway.

"Do the girls, Mason, and I need to come up there?" Brooke asked, leaning back in her chair and running a hand through her brunette hair.

"I don't think so sweetheart." Missie said. "I'll call you though."

"Alright, tell him that the girls and I said hello, and we send our love." Brooke said.

"I will sweetheart." Missie said. "I love you. Give my love to your cousins."

"I love you too, mom, and I will," Brooke said. After she ended the call, she resumed playing her music when a knock echoed through the door. She looked up and smiled to see her cousins standing there. "Hey girls, come on in," she said.

"Did we hear aunt Missie say she's going up to see uncle Tommy?" Farrah asked as she, Whitney, and Kaitlin sat in the chairs across from Brooke's desk.

"Yeah, uncle Bobby called Johnny and told him, then Johnny called mom, and the two of them are meeting up there." Brooke said, then noticed the file in Whitney's hand. "What's that."

"It's the statements for the materials for New York fashion week." Whitney said, giving her cousin the file. "We're heading to art's for lunch. You coming?"

"I could go for a sandwich from art's."

Missie parked her car next to Johnny's charger. She placed her sunglasses on top of her head, turned off the ignition, got out, locked the car behind her, and they walked into the hospice center. They took the elevator to the second floor, and the elevator doors slid open as they walked to the nurse's station.

"We're looking for a friend." Johnny said to the nurse

"Johnny." Bobby said as he turned around

Bobby and Johnny slapped a five and then they shared and embrace. "Hey Bobby." Johnny smiled

"Hey. Long time man." Bobby smiled, then turned to Missie, and embraced the brunette. "Hey Missie. Where's the girls and the kids?"

"The kids couldn't make it, and the girls stayed back at the museum, but they send their love to everyone." Missie said

Bobby smiled, then turned to Johnny. "You look good man. Few more wrinkles but, you know, not too bad."

"Yeah, what about you? You'd think with all that preaching and praying, you'd get your hair back." Johnny said, and Bobby chuckled

"Yeah. Unfortunately, God doesn't work that way. But I've definitely been doing a lot of praying since, you know..." Bobby said as he looked back towards the hospital room

"Yeah..how's he doing?" Johnny asked

"He'll be happy to see you, Johnny." Bobby said. "Room 112." he said and Johnny walked towards Tommy's room.

Johnny and Missie walked towards room 112, and stopped at the door to see Tommy watching soccer. "You're watching soccer? It's worse that I thought." Johnny said

"Johnny. Missie." Tommy said with a smile, then turned the tv off. "You didn't have to come all the way out here."

"Yeah, you gonna come and see me?" Johnny asked as he walked to Tommy's bedside

"Yeah, right." Tommy chuckled, then embraced Missie, who leaned down to give him an embrace. "Hey. How are the twins and the girls?"

"They're good." Missie smiled. "They send their love to you."

"Tell them I said hi." Tommy smiled

"Does it hurt?" Johnny asked

"Nah. Meds do their job." Tommy said, then saw Bobby leaning against the door frame. "Oh, did you guys see, they already got me a priest."

Bobby just shook his head and chuckled. "I'm a pastor Tommy. But if you wanna confess about that 50 bucks you still owe me, the big guy's listening."

Tommy laughed then ended up coughing. "You're gonna fight this." Johnny said

"Nah. That part's done. It's in here now." Tommy said as he pointed to his head. "It's in here now. Besides, you were always a better fighter."

"Bullshit. Remember that tournament back in '83? You beat vidal to get to the semis." Johnny said

"Yeah. Who beat me in the finals?" Tommy asked

"All right, yeah. But you didn't make it easy on me." Johnny said

"Yes, hon. I know, All right. I love you too. All right gotta go bye." Jimmy said as he walked in. "Sorry I'm late.

"Hey Jimmy." Bobby said as he embraced Jimmy. "Hey." Jimmy said, then walked over to Johnny and embraced him as well

"Hey buddy." Johnny said as he embraced Jimmy.

"Hey." Jimmy said as he returned the embrace, then embraced Missie. "Hey Missie. How're the twins and the girls?"

Missie smiled as she pulled away from the embrace. "They're good. They sent their love."

"Give them my love right back." Jimmy smiled, then walked over to the bed and held Tommy's hand. "Jenny and the kids send their love." he said

"Aw, tell Jen and the boys I said hi." Tommy said

Just then, a nurse came in. "Oh, you again." Tommy said. "Guys, just give me a minute."

The nurse closed the curtain, and the four stood by the door. "I spoke with the doc. He can sign out for 24 hours, but I don't know. Is he gonna even be able to make it to the car?" Jimmy asked.

"What are you talking about?" Johnny asked

Jimmy tured to Bobby, his expression puzzled. "You didn't tell them?"

"Look, we can't let Tommy rot in this place. He deserves better." Bobby said.

"What do you have in mind?" Johnny asked.

"Road trip. Give the guy a wild night to remember." Bobby said

They noticed the nurse leaving, and their conversation ceased. Once she was gone, they resumed talking. "I don't know," Missie began, "in his condition—" But she was interrupted by a beeping noise and the sound of a flatline. They rushed into the room to check on Tommy, only to find him removing his IV and patches.

"Let's get the hell out of here." Tommy laughed

The group stepped outside as Bobby held the door open for them. They descended the steps, and Johnny and Tommy started teasing Jimmy about his car.

"Look at this thing, what did your wife take your balls too?" Johnny asked and Tommy and Bobby laughed, while Missie rolled her eyes

"Hey, this is the safest car in it's class." Jimmy said

"You said you had a pussy wagon not a wagon for pussies." Tommy teased

"Alright, back me up, isn't it a sin to make fun of another man's ride?" Jimmy asked Bobby

"Jimmy, even God doesn't like this car." Bobby said making Tommy laugh

"You guys got something better in mind?" Jimmy asked

Johnny had a look on his face, then he looked at the group and said, "I've got an idea."

After trading in their cars for motorcycles, the group of five friends sat in a bar waiting for Johnny to bring back a pitcher of beer.

"Then there was that time that Tommy got that horrible fake ID bartender served us all dishwater." Bobby laughed

"And I drank the whole thing because I didn't know what beer was supposed to taste like." Tommy laughed

"I remember that." Johnny said as he sat down with the beer

"We made up for it the next weekend." Jimmy said. "Dutch got so hammered he stole the dartboard."

"Oh, no, he didn't steal it. He smashed it. That's the first time he went to juvie." Bobby said

"Speaking of, Dutch is still at Lompoc, huh?" Tommy said

"Yeah, last I heard." Jimmy said

"To Dutch when the judge said, five to ten.." Johnny said holding up his beer

"She really meant ten to twenty." Bobby finished, then they all brought their glasses up and clinked.

"What about you Johnny? Last I heard you were laying bricks?" Jimmy asked

"I wasn't laying bricks, maybe some light stucco." Johnny chuckled. "Actually, I, uh, opened a karate dojo."

"What? For real?" Bobby asked

"Yeah. It's over in Reseda. It's doing pretty well. Lots of good kids." Johnny said

"What's it called?" Tommy asked

"Johnny thought for a second, not in confusion just wondering if he should tell them. "It's called Cobra Kai." the blonde said

"You brought back Cobra Kai?" Bobby asked

"Yeah, it's not all that's back." Johnny said as he took a sip of his beer. He didn't have to say anything. They knew what else was back, or rather whom was back. John Kreese.

"This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard." Jimmy said

"It's not stupid." Johnny defended

"John Kreese is bad news. All that crap we dealt with after high school? Taking that no mercy bullshit out into the world?" Bobby said

"You got it the worst, man." Jimmy said. "Don't you remember?"

"Of course I remember. But people can change." Johnny said, and Bobby shook his head in disagreement. "Just like Cobra Kai can change."

Bobby scoffed, and Jimmy shook his head in disapproval. "Yeah right." Jimmy said

"I'm trying to change Cobra Kai, and Kreese is on board." Johnny said

Tommy turned to Missie, expressing his concern. "Have the twins and the girls joined Cobra Kai, Missie?" he asked.

"Absolutely not." Missie said. "I've told them they're to stay away, especially now that Kreese is around."

Tommy turned to Johnny, "Do you trust him Johnny?"

"You know Kreese, he always has something up his sleeve." Bobby said

"Nah, he's a different man. Besides, doesn't it say something in your book about forgiveness? 'Cause all I know is everyone deserves a second chance." Johnny said as he took a drink of his beer

"You know what I think? I wanna play some pool. You guys wanna play some pool with me?" Tommy asked

"I'll play some pool with you, Tommy. Come on. Let's go get a table." Johnny said as both he and Tommy got up

After getting into a bar fight and leaving the bar, the group rode into the woods and set up the campsite, where Bobby and Jimmy sat on a log conversing with Missie. "How are the twins and the girls doing?" Bobby asked, taking a swig of his beer.

"They're doing good. Brooke and the girls are getting ready for New York fashion week, while Mason is working for the top luxury real estate company in Beverly Hills." Missie expressed pride in their accomplishments . "Jack would be proud of them."

"You know, there's something we never shared with you," Jimmy said, and Missie turned to look at him. "A few months before Jack passed away, we were visiting you all. He made us promise to take care of you, Kathy, Lana, and the kids."

"Missie, he loved you so much and would have done anything for you." Bobby said

Missie gave them a watery smile, "You know what I hated the most, after he died?" Bobby and Jimmy looked at her. "Time. I was so angry at it. I despised clocks and calendars, and anything that was telling me life was moving on and I needed to move along with it. I didn't want the next big moments of my life to come, at least, not without him."

"Missie, when we love someone, that love doesn't die when they do, but we do have to say goodbye to the life we share with them. Go on with a new life, for a chance at happiness." Bobby said, then Missie glanced across the way, to find Johnny conversing with Tommy.

"Today was fun, Johnny." Tommy said

"You still got some moves, man. You should stop by the dojo sometime." Johnny suggested

"Yeah right. Just like the good old days. Man, where'd all that time go?" Tommy asked

"I don't know." Johnny said

"You know, there was something I never told you. Didn't think you needed to know...but screw it. I was in love with Ali." Tommy confessed

"What?" Johnny asked, smiling a little

"Yeah. Freshman year. We were in the same home room. We used to talk all the time. I was building up the courage to ask her out, when someone else struck first. That's why I joined Cobra Kai. I wanted to have the balls that you had. Without the smell." Tommy said as the two of them laughed, and took a swig of their beers.

Johnny looked at Tommy then spoke. "I didn't think I would ever get over her. Then Missie came to the Valley. She was the one. I was able to let my guard down around her. I was stupid to let her go, it's my biggest regret, but I'm glad she found someone who loved her, and treated her the way she deserved."

"I know how much Missie means to you." Tommy said. "I've never seen you look at anyone like you look at her. She always brought out the best in you John."

"Now that she's back, I don't want to mess it up. I don't want her to walk out of my life now that I have her again." Johnny said.

"You still got one thing that's more important than anything." Tommy said.

"What's that?" Johnny said.

"Time." tommy said. "Take care of them, Johnny. Missie, Kathy, Lana, and the kids. Bobby, Jim, Daniel, and I promised Jack we would look out for them. I need you to promise me you'll look out for them too."

"I promise." Johnny said

"Missie means the world to you, I know she does. She's had you wrapped around her finger since day one. Now that she's back, don't let her go." Tommy said

"I don't know." Johnny sighed. "Right now, all I wanna do is make sure my students don't make the same mistakes we did. I don't want them to look back at their life, full of regret." Johnny said.

"You'll do it, Johnny." Tommy smiled. "You're the champ."

The early California sun peeked through Brooke's bedroom curtains, gently rousing her from her peaceful slumber. With her arms wrapped around her boyfriend, she softly groaned, her brunette hair cascading down her back. She slowly began to stir as she felt Landon play with her beautiful long blonde locks. Opening her eyes, which were those of her mother's, she stared up at her boyfriend who returned a smile at her.

"Good morning," Landon smiled, wrapping her arms around her. "I really appreciate you letting me stay."

"Of course." Brooke smiled. "It was after midnight and you know how people drive at night around here."

"Have you heard anything about your uncle?" Landon asked, running his hand through her brunette hair.

"Uncle Tommy could check out for 24 hours, so they all went out for the night, and went camping." Brooke said

"A guys night out is always good." Landon said. "You ready for fashion week thing?"

"It's primarily Whit, Kait, and Fairy who are having models showcase their designs. I'm just accompanying them, and Mason will join us as well. Would you like to come? I know you said that you've never been to New York."

"You sure I won't be interrupting anything?" Landon asked.

"No, besides there's some places I wanna show you." Brooke said

"All right then, I'll be there." Landon smiled

"I should get up and make breakfast. You hungry?" Brooke asked

"Starving." Landon smiled as he laid back down on the bed and admired Brooke as she stood up and dressed herself. "I love you, Brooke."

"I love you too." Brooke smiled as she sat back on her bed and pecked his lips, and he sat up and got dressed as well. After he got up and got dressed, Landon picked Brooke up bridal style and headed downstairs to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Missie woke up to Bobby who screaming Tommy's name and for him to wake up, and Johnny and Jimmy were sobbing. "Don't do this. Tommy, wake up! Tommy!" Bobby sobbed

"Wake up! Please! Tommy!!" Johnny said

Missie checked Tommy's pulse, then began CPR. Missie, checking Tommy's pulse, commenced CPR. After a few minutes, it became evident that he had passed away in his sleep. She called the ambulance, and upon their arrival, the paramedic swiftly placed Tommy in the body bag and departed. The group stood there, holding each other in grief, mourning the loss of their dear friend. They gathered their belongings, mounted their motorcycles, and rode away. Once they returned their motorcycles for their cars, they exchanged hugs and went their separate ways.

Missie arrived at her Encino residence, and walked up the walk way, and walked inside, where she was greeted by her daughter and Drew.

"Hey Mom! How was your day?" Brooke greeted her mother with a smile as she entered the house. However, her smile faltered when she noticed the expression of sadness on her mother's face. "Mom, what's wrong?"

"I'm so sorry sweetheart." Missie wept, enveloping her daughter in a tender embrace. "Your uncle Tommy died this morning."

Brooke's blue eyes stung with tears as she rested her head on her mother's shoulder. "No, this can't be true. I just spoke with him a week ago," she sobbed into her mother's neck.

Later, Missie sat in the living room, rummaging through her old high school photos. Among them, she found a photo of herself, Jack, and the guys  from 1992. In the photo, she was seven and a half months pregnant.

"Mom, I brought you some tea." Brooke said, strolling into the living room with a cup of tea.

"Thank you sweetheart." Missie said, accepting the tea and taking a sip. "How are you holding up? I know it hit you, Jesse, and the girls pretty hard."

"I'm alright." Brooke said. "The girls are taking it pretty rough."

"He watched all of you grow up." Missie said. "I remember when you and Mason were born, he was right there in the waiting room with your uncles Bobby, Jimmy, and Daniel."

"He was always coming to visit." Brooke said. "He always took Mason, the girls and I for ice cream, even when you guys said no." she laughed, and Missie chuckled as well.

"Bobby and Jimmy told me something. Do you remember a few months before your father died, your uncles were visiting us?" Missie asked and Brooke nodded her head. "Your father made them promise to look after us, if something ever happened to him. All of us."

"You think dad knew something was going to happen?" Brooke asked

"I honestly don't know sweetheart." Missie said. "Honestly, I think he did, and your uncle Tommy knew something was going to happen too. That's why he wanted to have a night out."

"Mom, you guys did the most important thing that anyone could have given him, and that was a night out, with the people he loved most. He loved all of us." Brooke said

"We loved him too."
