Chapter 33 (End)
Deepika's PoV

It was pitch darkness at where I was, I'd been on my way outside to go to the match and.. and then it was blank. I'd assumed I'd been drugged and brought here, "You promised me this wasn't necessary!"
Arun?
"I know I did! But you didn't keep your end of the promise, did you? That brat was about to go spilling everything about the organ harvesting." A different voice hissed in response. Arun yelled right back, "She didn't know anything about the whole plot."
"You just kidnapped her, which is illegal by the way." I could practically feel the anger radiating off him. "So is Organ Harvesting, grow up." The other voice sneered. Arun cursed and kicked something before heading towards me and removed my blindfold, "What the hell are you doing?" The other person demanded. I blinked a few times to adjust to the rush of light, Arun's face staring back at me. "You okay?"
I couldn't respond due to shock, my gaze was glued onto the person who'd orchestrated all of this. Those same brown eyes that wrinkle at the end whenever he laughs, the same thin papery skin and frail bones. The same analytical gaze.
The man who raised me as though I was his own daughter.
My Father.
"Deepika-" He started but I cut him off but throwing my heel right at his face, unfortunately, I missed. Arun watched, mildly amused at my attempt, "You still have another heel?" He edged me on.
"And I'll be using it on you." I snapped at him, my heart crumbling ever so slightly as I stood up and rose to my full frame and strode out of the warehouse with guards watching me with a confused expression.

Shreyas sat in front of me, twiddling his thumbs and tapping on the desk nervously, "So I guess this is it, huh?"
"Yeah," I pressed my lips together in a tight line, "Bitter sweet and anticlimactic."
He chuckled softly in agreement, "Your a great person, Deepika."
"And so are you." I agreed, rising to my feet and collected my purse and coat. "But right now, I don't need a romantic relationship."
"More or less, I need to rediscover who I actually am." I smiled at him, I knew I was crushing his heart but this was the right thing to do, I needed time and space to myself. My father figure in jail, Arun beside me in a hospital empire, as a friend of course, he'd chosen to stay by Shalini realizing that she could use the emotional support much more than me. An unmasked traitor still roamed my hospital freely, and my desk with the nameboard, 'Deepika Sharma, Chairman and Co-Founder of Charity Hospitals'.
I don't know when I'll be ready to unlock my heart and hand it to someone else, it certainly wasn't now though. Shreyas ran a hand through my hair, those obsidian eyes glued onto me as his lips quirked upwards in a grin, "Shall we take the elevator?"
