Cover :: 4/10
I'm not sure if I like the cover or not. At first glance, it just seems obnoxious and all over the place. While the picture is nice, I don't like the text font and it's overall placement at all. I don't like the snowfall effect either.
Title :: 8/10
It's a decent title, and it also matches the blurb and the story. It's also certainly not copied from other books.
Blurb :: 7/10
You can't understand what the description is saying at all when you look at it once. It has so many grammatical errors, but the message the description is trying to convey is pretty sweet.
Note: Try and put some effort into your vocabulary. Either hire a proofreader or proofread your own text, as it looks like the book was written for no reason, and gives a very unprofessional look.
Plot and Twists :: 7/10
Plot Summary / My Take On It
The plot is - a college senior who loves ice skating and loves going to the skating rink, admires another skater who she has been seeing for five years, daily. They start to talk when the female protagonist picks up the male protagonist's airpod and returns it back to him. My impression of the plot is; a fairytale story. This gives me those fairytale vibes. It's cliché, but you know everyone loves it.
Twist - The biggest "twist" in the whole book is when the male protagonist gives a long speech about how he too has been watching her for five years, and when he described her skating career. It was a big shock to me.
Characters and Emotions :: 6/10
The reason why I gave it such a low score is because either of the protagonist's personality and emotions is basically based on each other and ice skating. It's like they have no feelings or personality at all. We just see the fact that they like each other, and that's about it.
Writing Style :: 8/15
The book's writing style doesn't even seem like it's a book. It's just like, texts were put into the "book" and the author called it a day. As a reader, I couldn't focus on the plot of the book because even the writing had distracting fonts. The writing style itself makes me want to switch to another book.
Grammar and Vocabulary :: 9/20
The vocabulary list of this book is very narrow; it's filled with gen z slang, which is a personal let down for me. The grammar however, is totally off putting. You can't focus on the story with the amount of grammar mistakes. From the description to the tenth chapter, they are literally everywhere.
Reviewer's Thoughts :: 2.5/5
I will totally come back to this book if I need to read some cliche books. This is a treat for people who love cliche things or are new to the whole genre of fanfictions but personally, it's a no for me.
Total :: 51.5/100
Strengths and Weaknesses ::
I think it's biggest strength is that it appeals to people who are new in the space, who actually enjoy this kind of stuff. It's biggest weakness is that the entirety of the book needs overall reshaping, and it fails to appeal to the wider market of audiences out there.
