Somehow, Jimin did manage to rest, with her arms folded on the tabletop to cushion her head. The sound of music made her gradually become aware of her surroundings and she opened bleary eyes to see Loki standing near the bar, clearly drunk. She groaned and buried her head in her hands for a moment; the god was already annoying sober, so how much worse could he get?
The blonde woman next to her waved to get his attention, but his only response was to return the gesture enthusiastically. She gestured to her clothes. "Where's your uniform?"
The song died away and Loki shushed the surrounding crowd, ignoring both women's irritated looks. Jimin quickly scanned the area to see if they'd been found out, her eyes falling on a blue-robed man with a suspicious expression on his face. She nudged her companion and nodded to him as the passenger left the room. Loki resumed singing, this time in another language, oblivious to the changing situation.
Instead, his gaze was focused on the blonde and brunette for a moment before his previous upbeat singing returned. His enthusiasm took hold andβ after finishing his drinkβ he slammed his glass to the bar counter. "Another!"
"Alright, who's turn is it?" the agent asked with a sigh. "I don't want to take him for a walk."
"If you want him alive, I suggest you go."
"Eh," the agent said, shrugging. Still, she stood and sent the other woman a you-owe-me look before approaching the Asgardian. "You're drunk," she announced bluntly.
"No, I'm just full," he corrected her, "but bear in mind, I'm very full. Now, I need you to try this," he held out an appetizer. "It pairs very nicely with the Figgie Port. Who's got the Figgie Port?" When no one answered, Loki turned back to her. "Well, you'll have to take my word on the Figgie Port."
Jimin freed the plate from his grasp and placed it on the surface next to her. "No, thank you. Where the hell is your uniform? What happened to staying low?"
"God you're so boring," he complained, his tone becoming robotic as he mocked her: "follow your orders, don't do anything illegal, stick to the rules. What's wrong with having a little fun?" he asked imploringly.
Her lips thinned. "Disobeying orders gets you killed and it's not a mistake I'll make again." She changed the subject. "People are giving you weird looks."
"What? When did you get so paranoid?"
"I've always been paranoid. The point is that we're supposed to be undercover or did you forget that? We don't have a plan B, so if for some reason we getβ"
"It's a shame to let that go to waste," the god looked down at the fallen plate.
"Good lord!" Jimin exclaimed, throwing her hands up with frustration. "Did you not listen to a word I've said? Jesusβ" she glanced over her shoulder and gave the blonde woman an annoyed look, to which Sylvie only replied with an innocent smile.
"Hey! Change of subject. I thought of an answer," Loki announced.
"Answer to what?" the brunette's tone had become short.
"The question."
Jimin crossed her arms as her eyes narrowed, clearly displeased. "What question?"
"Love is a dagger," he replied simply, summoning the weapon. "It's a weapon to be wielded far away or up close. You can see yourself in it, it's beautiful." He flipped it around until the point faced towards his chest. "Until it makes you bleed, but ultimately, when you reach for it. . ." It vanished in his hands.
"It isn't real?" the agent finished.
"Yes."
"Love is an imaginary dagger?" she sounded disbelieving.
"Doesn't make sense, does it?"
"Well, at least we now know how many drinks it takes to make you honest."
He met her gaze. "I think I'd need a few more to be completely truthful."
The doors behind the god opened and Jimin froze as the guards began to approach them. "That's him."
"Stay cool," she said warningly.
"It's going to be fine."
"Sir, can I see your tickets?" one of the soldiers asked once they were close enough.
"You again. Hello. Uh, tickets. Yes, of course. Here they are." He opened his hand to summon them, but instead revealed the small fireworks from earlier. "Oops. Still looks lovely, doesn't it?"
The guard reacted quickly, forcing the god's hands behind his back as Loki tried to explain, "look, is this really necessary? There is a simple explanation. . ." The other soldier placed his hand on the Asgardian's chest, causing him to protest, "hey."
"Huh?"
Loki copied the gesture so his hand was on guard, who repeated the movement until the god managed to hit the man in the face. Jimin sighed and pulled out her staff, preparing for their next battle. Sylvie had stood and engaged one of the guards, aiming punches at his unprotected areas.
One of the soldiers approached the Asian woman and she flipped her weapon horizontally, hitting the man in the stomach before he could block her attack. He aimed for her, his fists trying to make contact in similar places but she blocked him expertly with her weapon, turning it as necessary to poke at him distractingly to throw the guard off his focus. Nearby, Sylvie and Loki were fighting their own opponents with quite a bit more punches, taking out a fair few in the process.
There was a flash of green magic as the god sent one of the soldiers flying while the blonde woman hooked her leg around the guard's neck to take a stab at him with a hooked weapon. She joined Jimin's side a moment later, the two women teaming up against their increasingly frustrated opponent. A loud noise from behind them caused Jimin to turn, doubting Loki's fighting ability while drunk, and the momentary disruption allowed the man to find a weakness in their attack as he put Sylvie in an armlock. The Asgardian pulled out a dagger and sent it towards them, but in his unsteady state his aim was off and the weapon embedded itself in the wall next to the pair.
"Awful throw," the blonde woman pointed out.
Loki turned around to face the soldier again. "Oh, will you stop it?" His patience with the man disappeared and he sent the guard out the window. "Bye!"
Meanwhile, Jimin had taken advantage of the guard's occupied arms and had jammed her staff into his side, forcing him to let go of the other woman. Two more men had come up behind the Asgardian, though, and had taken him by the shoulders to the window before giving him the same treatment.
Both women froze as Sylvie breathed out, "the TemPad."
She freed her weapon from the bar and raced forward, easily downing a soldier that stood in her way before taking a flying leap out of the train. The Asian woman sighed before following them, swinging her jang bong at the remaining sentry and then using it to launch herself the way the gods had gone.

After the trio had come to terms with their new fate of being stuck on a slowly dying planet, they regrouped as best they could and had decided to walk the remaining way to the ark.
"This is just great," Jimin grumbled, completely fed up with the two gods she was tagging along with, "if I wasn't already an atheist I certainly would be now. Can't you two. . . I don't know, summon a flying eagle or something? At least the Bilbo didn't have to walk the whole way to the Lonely Mountain!"
"Well, this is a lot of walking for a mortal," Sylvie allowed as she sent a smirk the brunette's way.
The agent glowered at her. "I can handle it. I'm just saying that if you're all-powerful, shouldn't you do something. . . a little more?"
"I don't think I've ever walked this much in my life," Loki agreed as he rolled his sleeves up.
"That's a pretty good life," the blonde woman said.
"Well, you're lucky you missed it," the Asgardian replied lightly. "Here's an idea. What if you could enchant me and you could walk for both of us? Or I take a nap in my subconscious and then you could just wake me when we arrive, yeah?"
"That's not how enchantment works."
"Sure, Han Solo," Jimin muttered.
"Who?"
"Never mind."
"Anyway," Loki continued, "how does it work?"
"Doesn't matter."
"You know, I feel like I've told you both so much about me and I really don't know the first thing about either of you. . . well, except for the mortal."
"Thanks for the tactical advantage," Sylvie replied.
"Ah, so you want to use that tactical advantage to kill me when the T.V.A. shows up."
"Worried, are you?" the blonde asked.
"I just need to know if I can trust you," Loki told her before he turned to the agent, "and you I have no idea about."
"Good," the brunette said. "Let's keep it that way."

The moon's main city reminded Jimin a lot of New York, with its crowded streets and bright lights all crammed into a small space. Big cities had always been disorienting for her and she tended to stay away from them, so she was relieved when they paused just outside of it. "Do we trust each other?" Sylvie asked.
"We do and you can," Loki answered.
"I don't have a choice," the Asian woman added.
"Well, let's hope so because this is going to suck."
They then wasted no time in delving into the chanting crowd, pushing people out of the way as they tried to stay close to each other. Unfortunately, Loki decided to stop in the middle of the crowd. "They're gonna let these people die."
"We have to get on and make sure it takes off," the blonde agreed.
"How?"
"We go around," Jimin pointed to a clearer path.
The trio took off as they wove around people and piles of debris but didn't get very far as they were stopped by a loud cracking sound. They looked up to see the planet above them splinter and send more fragments of rock in blazing trails towards the surface. One landed close by, causing everyone to yell and duck. She really hated cities.
That sent them into motion as they raced off again, trying to get to the ark as fast as possible. One of the explosions had caused a smaller one that went off right as they neared it, sending them all flying backwards.
Jimin groaned as ringing sounded in her ears from the force of the impact and she lay still for a moment as she waited for the dust to clear. A hand appeared in her vision to help her up and, unable to think clearly, she took it and allowed the person to get her on her feet. The brunette blinked several times as Loki's face came into view. "You okay?"
"I-I think so," she answered unsteadily.
He gave a nod and after Sylvie recovered, they resumed their fast pace, running through a tunnel to reach their destination. A shadowy figure reached out and snagged the blonde's cloak, forcing her to free herself from it as the two engaged in a tug-of war. A bright flash of green lit up the dim space as Loki took out a newcomer before the two godsβ Sylvie having discarded her stolen clothingβ pulled out their daggers and took up defensive positions on either side of the agent.
Jimin's head was slowly clearing and once she'd realized this, she let out a growl of frustration before unsheathing her staff again as more people poured through the entrances. They engaged with an opponent of their own, though it was hard to tell what the other two were doing as the Asian woman did her best to focus on her fight. She could feel time slipping away as they wasted precious minutes here and she wasn't the only one. The blonde turned to the fighting pair. "Just go!"
They ran back out into the chaos of the street as the agent slid her staff back into place. Explosions showered around them making their path treacherous as they tried to figure out the best way to go.
They darted behind the safety of a corner for a moment to let everyone catch up before diving back into the fray, only to freeze again as a much more ominous noise sounded from above them. Disoriented from the extra commotion, Jimin froze under the falling spire, her gaze slowly moving upward as she watched it fall with wide eyes, a flashback of Katrina's death underneath the collapsed ceiling replaying before her.
Sensing they were missing a member, Loki turned to see the agent standing in the threat of danger. Without even stopping to think, he summoned magic to reverse the fall, sending the building back to its proper place. He then rushed forward to grasp the woman's wrist and force her into motion as he called back, "that's the second time I've saved your life you know!"
Jimin jerked out her daze. "It's far less heroic if you keep score!"
