IT WAS MORNINGS LIKE THIS that made Violet wish that her and Klaus had left like they planned to.

As much as the short blonde girl tried to ignore the facts, she was still only 17 years old, and she still had to go to school. No matter how much she just wanted to stay, warm and cozy in the familiar arms of her soulmate as they woke up together, she was still forced to wake up in the morning and get ready for high school.

The alarm she had set blared in both the soulmates ears, earning groans from both of them.

"Turn it off." Klaus grumbled in Violet's ear, only receiving a grunt as she randomly threw her arm out in attempt to hit the stop button on her phone.

But of course, she was unsuccessful and only ended up knocking her phone to the ground as the alarm proceeded to sound through their shared bedroom.

Violet sighed in defeat, peeling her soulmates arm from her waist and then, much to her dismay, the covers as well. Klaus let out a noise of disapproval as she sat up, his large hand grasping her wrist as a sign that he didn't want her to leave.

The blonde let out a tired chuckled, grabbing the hand that grabbed her and bringing it up to her lips to press a small kiss on his knuckles. "I need to get ready." She told the tired hybrid.

His eyes were closed but Violet had no doubt that they were rolling under his eyelids. "Why do you even need to go?" Klaus questioned, his voice deeper and raspier than usual due to it being early in the morning.

"We've had this talk before. I need to graduate and with the amount of school I've missed these last couple of years, I'm surprised I'm still even able to get my diploma." She replied. Before he could respond, the petite blonde stood from the bed and headed for the bathroom, calling out over her shoulder to her soulmate.

"If you go make me some waffles I'll consider staying!"

Klaus did end up making Violet some delicious blueberry waffles, but she still went to school anyway, laughing as she left their mansion at the grumbles that left her soulmates lips.

But as she spotted Elena walking down the hallway towards her, Bonnie and Caroline, she slightly regretted her decision.

"Elena, hey. Is everything okay?" Bonnie asked gently, looking at her friend in concern.

Elena looked startled as she glanced in between the three girls. "Yeah. Why wouldn't it be?"

"Well, Caroline told me you had to move out to stay away from Jeremy." Bonnie softly replied as if the words would make the doppelgänger break down on the spot.

Violet was slightly sympathetic but she thought that if she could go even a day without breaking down while thinking that her soulmate is dead, then Elena could go a few days without living in the same house as her very alive brother.

So maybe she was still slightly bitter as well. But she had every right to be, and even though Caroline knew that, she still insisted that Violet be civil towards Elena and Elena would do the same.

Elena glanced down at her fidgeting hands, "Matt is at the house staying with him right now to make sure he keeps all of his," She glanced around to ensure that no one could overhear them. "hunter stuff in control. He's okay."

"But are you? I mean, clearly, they don't have a flat iron at hotel Salvatore." Caroline giggled, gesturing towards the messy bun on Elena's head.

The brunette self consciously reached up to her hair. "Oh–I was in a rush. I mean–look, do you girls have any plans tonight?" She spoke while simultaneously taking her hair out. "I'm in desperate need of some girl talk."

Bonnie immediately grinned. "I'm in. Shane taught me some small spells I've been wanting to try."

Violet's eyebrows rose as she smirked at her witch friend, sharing a glance with Caroline. "Oh, creepy professor guy is just Shane now?"

"He's not creepy." Bonnie protested, looking at the two giggling blondes.

Elena chuckled. "We're not judging." She assured.

"I am." Caroline shrugged, smiling down at the Bennett Witch.

"Don't listen to her." The doppelgänger laughed. "So, girls' night? We can raid the Salvatore wine cellar."

Since Violet was always close with Damon (the two of them becoming best friends pretty soon despite being polar opposites), Elena's words were casual to her. But as she opened her mouth to say that that would be great, she stopped herself upon seeing the uncomfortable expressions on Bonnie and Caroline's faces.

"Um, are you sure that Stefan and Damon are cool with us crashing at their place?" The blonde vampire questioned, sharing a look with Bonnie.

Elena glanced at something behind them before quickly averting her eyes. "I can't go home because my brother is trying to kill me. So their place is mine now, too." She replied, once again looking behind them, a small grin tugging at the corners of her mouth. "I'll see you in a bit."

Nighttime arrived and Violet sat in the middle of Bonnie and Caroline on one of the many couches in the Salvatore house. The three of them talk aimlessly, their conversations being interrupted when Elena slides a wooden crate onto the table behind the couch, the bottles of wine inside of it catching the other girls attention.

"One for you," She passes one of the bottles to Bonnie, "One for you," Elena hands one to Violet who could only grin and take the bottle eagerly. "And one for you." She finished, handing the second to the last bottle to Caroline.

Bonnie reached into the crate, pulling out the new blood bag out. "I'm assuming this is for Caroline." The blonde vampire reached out for it, but before she could grab it, Elena grinned and grabbed it instead.

"Actually, it's for me." The three girls on the couch all exchanged surprised glances, looking from each other to the doppelgänger in front of them.

"I thought–"

"Are you saying that–"

Elena takes a sip from the blood bag, grinning at the girls when nothing came back up. "Thanks to Damon, I am now a functional dysfunctional vampire."

Bonnie gaped at her best friend, a smiling growing on her face. "That's amazing."

Caroline, however, frowned a bit. "Uh, what do you mean thanks to Damon?"

"Well, he suggested that I try it again. So I did and it worked." Elena shrugged. "No more snatch, eat, erase." She exclaimed excitedly as she joined the girls and sat on the couch opposite of them.

Caroline sighed, turning in her seat. "So where is my least-favorite Salvatore?"

The brunette held up her white cell phone and read aloud the text Damon had sent her, "Out with Stefan for the night, don't wait up. Brother bonding."

The blonde vampire hummed, her words coming out bitterly. "So you guys check-in text now? What else do you do?"

"I know that you're not the biggest fan, but he kind of just changed my life." Elena replied, her tone making it clear that she was hurt by her friends words. "Would you mind laying off on all the hate?"

An awkward silence fell upon the girls until Bonnie thankfully spoke up, "OK, new girls' night rule–no boy talk, yeah? Plus, why talk when we have this?

Reaching into her bag, the witch pulls out a small plastic bag, the contents being a large chunk of dark green herbs, looking suspiciously like drugs.

Caroline gaped, "Is that stoner tea?!"

"It's spirit tea." Bonnie corrected. "It opens up your chi, or whatever." She shrugged. Caroline scoffed, not looking convinced in the slightest. "Come on, it's not drugs!" Bonnie insisted. "Shane is helping me do natural magic without having to access the spirits."

Caroline gave the other girls a look. "Mm-hmm."

"Don't judge." The Bennett girl said exasperatedly.

When Caroline's face didn't change, Bonnie scowled at her, finally forcing the vampire to give it. "OK, fine! I hereby vow not to be judgmental for the rest of the evening! Even if you two are potentially ruining your lives as I stand idly by, it's your choice."

Elena scooted to the edge of the couch, holding up her bloodbag. "I'll drink to that."

As the three of them cheered, Violet couldn't help but think of her Original best friend that was laying, desicated in a coffin at her house. She missed her dearly and felt guilty that she was still suffering in a box, but Klaus has promised that when the search for the cure was over, he would undagger his sister and Violet would get her best friend back.

She knew he wouldn't break his promise.

Heavily intoxicated, Violet, Bonnie, Caroline and Elena dance around the Salvatore living room, music blaring from the speakers and laughs echoing through the house, all of it being captured on Bonnie's cellphone.

With all the supernatural drama that had taken up their lives, Violet couldn't remember the last time she had been able to let go like this. Besides, before, she was never a partier.

The watch as Elena goes to pour herself another glass of champagne, pouting when no liquid comes out. Smirking, Elena vamp speeds to the dining table, landing on top of it before any of them could blink. The girls cheer and laugh as Elena speeds back, popping the cork and quickly pouring herself more.

They had all lost track of time, it having been hours since they're small party began and before they knew it, all of them were gathered in Damon's bathroom, Elena laying inside the porcelain tub and the other three girls all sitting around it.

"Check this out," Bonnie speaks as they all giggled for no specific reason. "Vamp-speed video." She grins, hitting send.

Elena clicked on the video as soon as it showed up on her phone, laughing as it played. "I look like Superman. Watch this." The doppelgänger taps her phone, turning it around to show them a action shot of her speeding through the house. "This year's Christmas card." She says, making the girls giggle once again.

"Being a vampire is so weird. Oh my God, I love this bathtub. Why don't we come and hang out here more often?" Elena says, her speech slurred.

"I'll tell you why." Caroline raises her finger . "Cooties. Think of all the germ-ridden skanks that Damon has lured into his den of enequity." The vampire giggles.

Another uncomfortable silence falls upon them, Elena sitting up with a frown and Bonnie and Violet exchanging awkward glances.

Looking at their unamused faces, Caroline holds her hands up in surrender, "Okay, I'm sorry. I've been good all night. I am stopping now."

"No, don't stop on my account. Rip away. I mean, it's only Damon, right?" Elena sarcastically remarks, throwing a glare at the older vampire.

"Well, say what you want about Ripper Stefan," Caroline continues despite the looks sent her way. "but at least he wasn't a man slut."

Already used to being Switzerland for her friends, Violet shakes her head softly at Caroline. "Care, don't."

The brunette vampire clenched her jaw shut, scowling. "So, what exactly was it about him that made you jump right into bed with him as soon as you met him?"

Caroline raised her eyebrows at the insult, "I didn't know what a sociopathic narcissist he was."

"He's always been there for me when I needed him." Elena shot back.

"Yeah, because he's hoping you'll sleep with him." The blonde said, her eyes narrowed at the doppelgänger.

Elena didn't hesitate, her words shocking everyone in the room. "Well, maybe I did." All the girls gape, but Caroline is more furious as she spits out, "You did what?!"

Bonnie shook her head disappointedly at Elena. "You didn't." But the newly turned vampire only nodding, beginning to stand up.

"Yeah, I did. Look, I know you two have issues with him, but I'm happy, and I wanted to spend tonight with my best friends so that I could tell them about it." She says, quickly stepping out of the bathtub and fleeing the room.

When Caroline, Violet and Bonnie finally register what happened, they join Elena downstairs, their shoulders slumped as they watch Elena hurriedly pick up the mess they had made.

"Elena, come on." The Bennett witch mumbles quietly.

"Party's over. You guys need to leave." Elena speaks emotionlessly as she places the throw pillows in their correct places.

Caroline throws her hands out, looking at her friend pleadingly. "Don't be mad, okay? We're just looking out for you."

At her words, Elena whirls around a sarcastic grin on her face. "Do you think it makes me happy that you guys hate him? I get it. His track record has been kind of spotty but I don't hate him. I can't." She exclaims. "And other than me, the only other person who doesn't hate him is Violet. And now I'm starting to understand why she was so upset with us when her and Klaus got together!"

Brown meets hazel as Elena locks eyes with Violet, her eyes holding an understanding look that Violet hadn't seen in a while. "I'm so sorry we put you through that." Elena apologizes, and Violet could tell she was being sincere, only being able to nod as emotions began to flood her body.

Elena looked back at Bonnie and Caroline, her words now directed only towards them. "I can't hate Damon. He's - I think I'm falling in love with him." The doppelgänger admits, being able to surprise Violet for what seemed like the thousandth time that night.

"Ugh," Caroline groans. "you're not falling in love with him, Elena. You're sired to him!" She snaps, earning confused and shocked looks from the others. Immediately, Caroline looks guilty when she realizes how the sentence came out.

"What?" Bonnie and Violet chorus. "What are you talking about?" Elena shakes her head, her dark eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

Caroline walks down the steps towards Elena, her shoulders dropping sadly. "I...Look, I'm sorry that it came out like that, but it's true." She says, her expression sympathetic. "Damon's blood turned you. You couldn't feed from animals or blood bags because he told you so. Then he suggested that you try again with blood bags and suddenly..."

Elena begins to rapidly shake her head, her breathing becoming labored. "No. There's no way, I..."

Violet shares a glance with Bonnie, looking at Caroline. "Are you sure?"

The vampire turns to look at them and nods, "Yeah. Ask Stefan about it. He can explain it better than I can."

Elena's expression suddenly turns angry, her eyes narrowing into slits. "I'm sorry, you talked to Stefan about this?"

"It's not your fault, Elena." Caroline replied gently, "Okay, Damon took advantage of you."

"Okay, you need to leave!" Elena spat, her voice becoming thick as emotions began to overwhelm her. Shocked and speechless, Caroline only gapes at her.

"Now!" Elena stomps passed the three girls to the front door.

Bonnie shouts the doppelgängers name but is unsuccessful in calming her down. "Come on!" Caroline shouts.

"I said leave!" Elena exclaims. The brunette opens the door, the girls inside widening their eyes when they spot two of what Violet can recognize as two of her soulmates hybrids.

The one she remembered being named Kimberly smirks, "Hello girls."

Before any of them could blink, the two speed in, the other hybrid, Adrian, fighting with Elena as Kimberly takes both Violet and Caroline into her arms, holding them in a grip strong enough to surely leave bruises on Violet.

In order to hopefully scare them, Bonnie uses her magic to tamper with the lights in the house, multiple lightbulbs busting and others flickering. The hybrids are startled, but neither of them back down.

"Stop!" Kimberly shouts, her mouth moving closer to Caroline's shoulder and her hybrid eyes flashing at the witch. "One bite from a hybrid and she's dead, remember?"

In a blur, Adrian throws Elena to the floor. And Caroline lands next to her a second later. Bonnie is quick to help them up, but when they look back up, their best friend is nowhere to be seen.

"Violet?"

An annoying sense of deja vu comes over Violet as she sits, her wrists shackled to the walls of an old barn. Violet didn't know where they took her, but she also couldn't exactly focus on anything besides the pain coming from her wrists as Kimberly tightened them.

The small blonde let out a pain filled scream, tears threatening to fall down her cheeks as the female hybrid twisted her wrist.

"Why are you doing this?" Violet whimpered, her chest rapidly rising and falling as she sobbed.

Kimberley only smirked. "To show Tyler who's in charge." She grabs her wrist again, this time breaking it easily with her enhanced strength, feeling no remorse for the scream that escaped from Violet's throat.

Just in time, Elena and Tyler rush into the barn, their eyes widening in horror as they spot the state Violet is in.

"Stop! Stop it, Kim!" Tyler yells, him and Elena stopping a few feet away and watching cautiously incase Kim decided to hurt Violet worse. "Violet's not the bad guy! She's not our enemy!"

Kimberley stood up, glaring harshly at Tyler. "She's may not be your enemy, but she sure as hell is mine."

The hybrid sends her a disbelieving look, but he's quickly distracted when the rest of the hybrids all flood into the barn. Elena and Tyler are both quickly held back as Kim continues her torture on the small human they had tied up.

Grabbing ahold of her other wrist, Kim sends Tyler a smirk as she easily breaks the bone, Violet's bloodcurdling scream echoing through the barn.

"Stop it! Stop!" Tyler yells as him and Elena both struggle in the hybrid's arms.

Adrian speaks up from where he stands by, his tone warning her, but he makes no move to stop what is happening. "Ease up, Kim. Klaus won't like this."

Kimberley cocks an eyebrow. "That's a very good point. Do you think he'll like this?" Moving Violet's blonde hair back, Kim places her hands on either side of Violet's neck.

"Kim! Don't do it. I swear to God!" The first created hybrid yells, fighting harder to get out of his former friends grips.

"No, wait, wait, wait, wait!" Elena protests as Kim tightens her grip on Violet's neck. "Violet can't die unless Klaus does. If you snap her neck she'll just come back to life. Kill me instead, he's fixated on keeping me alive. You want real revenge or not?"

Kimberley hesitates at the new information for a moment before removing her hands, Violet letting out a gasp as air was finally let into her throat. The female hybrid stalks towards Elena, grabbing her by the throat. It all seems as if the hybrids were winning, but as they were distracted, Tyler escapes, pulling Kim away and quickly sticking his hand into her chest.

All of the hybrids step toward them to help Kim as she gasps in pain, but Tyler yells threateningly at them, "Stay back! I'll rip her heart out right now!"

No one dares to make any more moves towards the pair, Tyler looking her dead in the eye as he spoke. "Kim put you all at risk today but I'm not gonna hurt her. I'm not Klaus. I don't kill and torture my own friends to get what I want." He says, glancing back at his fellow hybrids. "Now, we broke the sire bond, but if you want to be free we have to work together. No one can step out of line. Now, you're either with me or you're against me. Submit. Submit or you die."

Kimberley and Tyler both fall to the ground, the female hybrid gasping out, "I'm....I'm sorry."

Tyler rips his arm from her chest, leaving only an already healing wound and a ripped shirt with a blood stain. One by one, each of the hybrids begin to kneel, showing Tyler that he is in fact their alpha.

Violet was the most upset she had been since the time she thought her soulmate had been killed by her history teacher.

For more reasons then one, which was unusual. Usually it would either be her soulmate that did something wrong or her friends who planned something behind her back that could potentially put her in danger. Both things that constantly happened without fail at least once a week.

This time, however, it had been both.

Not only had Caroline, Stefan and Tyler planned to take down Klaus behind her back, but the whole ordeal ended in the Original killing all of his hybrids. Now, that wasn't the part Violet was upset about. All of those hybrids could burn in hell for all she cared. What set Violet off was the fact that, for revenge, Klaus took it upon himself to take away the only family Tyler had left by killing Carol Lockwood.

Drowned in the fountain in the middle of town square, the woman who had also been a big part of Violet's childhood and in taking care of her was now deceased at the hands of Klaus.

Because Violet didn't already have enough problems.

At school on Monday, a mandatory school assembly was held in the gym to honor the towns fallen mayor. Violet sat in the row behind Bonnie and Elena, Caroline and Tyler being sat another row down and a few feet away from them.

Tyler had refused to even look at Violet ever since her body had been found, just minutes after Klaus had slaughtered all the hybrids save for Tyler. It was no coincidence that his mother had been killed right after, the whole group knew that. And while, yes, Violet did feel a bit guilty for her soulmates actions, she couldn't exactly say it was surprising.

Unexpected, yes, but not surprising.

So, currently, Violet was ignoring pretty much everyone. The only reason she even decided to attend school that day was because she had missed so many days, that if she missed anymore, she wouldn't be able to graduate. And if there was one normal thing Violet was going to accomplish in her crazy life, it was going to be to graduate high school.

"Carol Lockwood always said that togetherness in times of tragedy leads to healing, that one community is stronger than a thousand of its members. But how does a community stay strong after losing its leader?" Sheriff Forbes speaks solemnly into the podium. "And Carol was so much more than a leader; she was an open-minded friend and a concerned mother, taken from us too soon by a terrible accident."

From the corner of her eye, Violet sees Tyler shake his hand, hurriedly standing up and leaving the gym, ignoring Caroline's whispered calls of his name.

Sheriff Forbes watches sadly as he leaves before turning her attention back to the students. "Please join me in observing a minute silence in her memory."

Everyone bows their heads, silence falling upon the gym. Lost in her thoughts, Violet almost misses when Elena gets up, also looking troubled but evidently not for the same reason Tyler was. She wanted to investigate, but when she saw Caroline and Bonnie still in their seats, she chose to stay as well.

Maybe it wasn't that important.

The assembly later ended with a speech from the new interim mayor, Rudy Hopkins, also known as Bonnie's father. As the students flooded out of the gym, Violet looked around for Caroline, sighing when she saw the blonde vampire leaving the gym already with her phone pressed to her ear.

The blonde looked around helplessly, her shoulders dropping before she decided to sit and wait for Bonnie who was talking to her father a few feet away.

It took no more than five minutes for the witch to finish and walk over to where Violet was sitting. Bonnie was the only person Violet wasn't upset with, seeing as she had been too focused on her magic with the help of Professor Shane to even be clued into the plans to take down Klaus.

"Hey," Bonnie quietly greeted. "Do you still need a ride? My dad and I are gonna head to the grill later but he said he wouldn't mind if you tagged along."

Just as she finished her sentence, Violet's phone buzzed. She pulled the small device out, replying to Bonnie as she read the message. "Yeah, if it's not..." her voice trailed off, the contents of the text making her jaw drop.

"Actually, Bon," Violet spoke, a smile growing on her face. "I'm meeting a friend here. Thanks though."

Just as the text instructed, Violet approached the schools library. As expected, the familiar british accent could be heard from the inside of the library and Violet let out an excited squeal.

Busting through the doors, Violet paid no attention to the other four people in the room, her only focus being on the also beaming Original vampire. "Bekah!" The petite blonde girl exclaimed, jogging over and quickly bringing her best friend into a hug.

"You have no idea how much I missed you." Violet mumbled as the two girls embraced.

Rebekah let out a chuckled as she pulled away, "Oh, I think I do. And because I missed you so much, I'm gonna let go of the fact that you allowed for me to be daggered for so long." Violets smile dropped, a guilty tug pulling at her heart. Rebekah shook her head, smiling softly at the human. "Don't worry about it. I know you would never leave me like that on purpose. I'm not upset." She explained.

A throat cleared behind them. The both turned around, seeing the uncomfortable expressions on all three of the vampires faces as the witnessed the bond between the two girls they seemed to have forgotten about. And then there was April Young, you sat there and watched the exchange with a small smile.

Suddenly remembering the reason they were there, Rebekah smirked. "Oh, right! Where were we?" She questioned, looking over at April.

The younger girl jumped, "Um, the tattoos on the hunters revealed a map that lead to–"

"Yes!" Rebekah cut her off. "A map which led to...? Caroline?"

Caroline looked blankly up at the Original. "A cure for vampirism."

Rebekah grinned. "Perfect, so we're all caught up. Stefan Salvatore, the last time we saw each other, you had a vampire hunter, but in order to decode the map, you needed the location of the hunter's sword, which you got out of me using some very dirty tricks." The blonde vampire spoke, glaring slightly at the younger vampire. "Assuming you found the sword, you also found the cure, and yet, you're all still vampires, which means something went wrong."

Noticing the girls rapid hand movements, Rebekah looked over at April, "What are you doing?"

The raven haired girl looked startled as she lifted her head. "Oh, you asked me to take notes." She innocently replied making Violet chuckle.

"She wasn't being literal, sweetie." Violet told her in a gentle tone.

"But now that you mention it, a flow chart would be nice," The Mikaelson girl declared, pointing behind her toward the door. "which means index cards and push-pins. Go, fetch."

Stefan let out an irritated sigh as April left the room. "You're wasting your time." He commented. "We don't know anything."

Rebekah made a face, narrowing her icy blue eyes. "So, you just gave up? I thought you would do anything to save Elena? Even if it meant taking the cure yourself, so you could grow old and die with her?"

It was clear by the red in Stefan's cheeks and the surprise on Elena's face that this hadn't been mentioned before. Any other day Violet would usually scold Rebekah for revealing something so private, but she was still currently angry and couldn't care less at the moment.

"Why do you look so surprised?" The Original asked Elena, her eyebrow raised. The three compelled vampires sat in silence, glancing around at each other awkwardly.

Rebekah glared at them, looking over at Violet. "I'm missing something. What is it?"

The blonde human rolled her eyes, shaking her head at their dramatics. "They broke up."

Caroline let her hands fall to the table. "Yes. Now let us go." Disregarding her pleads, Rebekah grins, looking back and forth between the former couple.

"Broke up?" She sneers. "Wait, I'm confused. I thought Elena was your epic love, Stefan?" The British girl remarked mockingly, sitting down in the chair April had occupied prior to her exit. "I asked you what happened. You have to tell me."

Defeatedly, Stefan mumbled, "She slept with Damon."

Elena straightened in her chair, looking shocked and confused at Stefan, then sending a guilty looking Caroline a look of betrayal.

After a minute of speechlessly blinking, Rebekah stands from her seat. "So, vampire Elena is a trollop who likes bad boys, which explains why Stefan reeks of alcohol. But what it doesn't explain is why sweet, loving, innocent Elena could be so heartless towards Stefan." The vampire put into words what had been going through Violet's mind since the second she found out about Elena's secret rendezvous with Damon.

Elena only swallows thickly, glancing at Stefan who refused to meet her eye. Rebekah turned her attention to the youngest Salvatore, tilting her head. "How could she hurt you like that? Answer, please."

In his usual broody manner, Stefan replies, "She didn't know it at the time, but she was sired to Damon."

"A sire bond." Rebekah repeated, leaning down closer to Elena and folding her hands in front of her, looking at the newly turned vampire like a child would at their kindergarten teacher. "That's fascinating. And what do you think about that, Elena?"

Elena turns her glare from the wall to the bloodsucker next to her. "I think you're sad and bored and in desperate need of a hobby."

With a glare of her own, Rebekah uses her Original vampire abilities to compel Elena, "You're hiding something. Fess up."

"I didn't sleep with Damon because of the sire bond." Elena nonchalantly replies. "I slept with Damon because I'm in love with him."

Stefan's head snaps up to the doppelgänger, tears gathering in his eyes at the unintentional confession.

Caroline glanced worriedly at the male, "What does any of this have to do with the stupid cure?" She snapped.

"You're right. We got off the point." Rebekah agreed, her gaze still on Elena. "Stefan, how do I find the cure?" She questions, now looking at said vampire. "Unless, you'd rather talk about Damon and Elena all day."

Stefan blinks away the liquid from his eyes, his voice breaking slightly as he speaks. "There's a professor. He knows where the cure is."

"Thank you. And, uh, where do I find this professor?"

After making a call to someone unknown, Rebekah refused to tell Violet who, Caroline's phone was taken by the Original who instantly dialed Tyler's number.

"I told you, I don't wanna talk." Tyler immediately answered, his tone expressing his mood. Violet would have felt a little more sympathetic if he hadn't also played apart in taking down the love of her life. Again.

"I heard," Rebekah sighed into the phone. "and you're keeping all that rage bottled up inside. Caroline's worried sick about you."

"Rebekah?"

She grinned. "Hello, Tyler. I heard my brother made a real mess of your life. Believe me, I can relate. You have my condolences. In fact, why don't you come down to the high school so you can accept them in person?" She spoke, pacing around her spot, though she was completely relaxed.

"And why would I do that?"

Rebekah locked eyes with an angry Caroline, keeping contact as she spoke. "Because I have your girlfriend. Maybe you have a better shot saving her than you did your mother. Bye now!" She smirked before hanging up.

Hearing the door open a second later, Violet looked towards the entrance, a gasp escaping her lips at who's head pops in.

"Sister–look at this! You're even worse than Klaus." Kol Mikaelson grinned.

Just as she had before, Violet quickly got up from her seat to jog to Original she hadn't seen in what seemed like forever.

"Kol!" She excitedly exclaimed. Kol's smirk transformed into a grin as his eyes locked onto the girl who was just too amazing for him to hate as he did with all of Klaus' past girlfriends.

"Ah, Violet, darling! How I've missed your company!" Kol replies, bringing the small girl into a hug.

The pair hadn't seen each other since Esther had linked the Mikaelson siblings together and Kol had fled town, understandably, wanting to be as far away from the danger as possible.

"Kol, finally." Rebekah spoke up, a grin of her own on her face. "Did you bring what I asked for?"

Reaching out the door, Kol grabbed and pushed Professor Shane into the library, the man looking significantly confused and frightened.

The female Original grinned. "You must be Shane."

Having followed the siblings into the random janitors closet, the three of them surrounded Shane who looked at all of them in fascination.

"Kol, and Rebekah Mikaelson." The Professor panted, pointing at the two of them. "Two members of this Original vampire family." His eyes casted down to Violet, who raised an eyebrow at his expression of awe.

"I knew I recognized you!" He announced, his eyes growing wide. "You're Violet. Klaus Mikaelson's soulmate. This is such a trip."

Rebekah ignored his fascinated stare, leaning in to look into Shane's eyes, her pupils dilating. "Where's the cure?"

Professor Shane suddenly smirked in realization. "Compulsion won't work. It's a little trick I picked up in Tibet."

Taken aback, Rebekah shakes her head. "Right, well, we'll just have to do this the old fashioned way." She says, the smirk falling from Shane's face and one growing on Kol's. "Beat him until he tells you where to find it."

Violet barely notices Rebekah leave, her narrowed hazel orbs still glued to the curly haired man in front of her.

"How do you know who I am?" She questioned. Violet didn't think anyone besides the group of supernaturals in Mystic Falls knew about her relationship with Klaus or even just about her existence in general.

"I do my research." Was the mans only reply.

Seeing her frown, Kol immediately smirks at the Professor. "I think it's time to start. Would you like to stay and watch, Violet?"

The petite blonde chuckles, "As much as I'd love to stand here and see you torture someone for information, I think I'll just join Bekah in the library." She replied, sending Kol a smile before exiting the small room.

"Truth or dare, Elena. You're compelled. Answer." Was the first thing Violet heard as she stepped back into the library, shaking her head at her best friends antics.

Scowling, Elena answered, "Dare."

Rebekah leaned forward, using her hands to prop herself against the table, smiling deviously at the doppelgänger. "I dare you to tell Stefan the truth about Damon."

Caroline, who previously hand her head laid against the table, looked up disbelievingly. "Seriously?"

The Original only smirked, looking expectantly at Elena.

Elena closed her eyes, letting out a defeated sigh. "Being with Damon makes me happy."

Rebekah let out a laugh, "Makes you happy? Clowns make you happy, Elena. Dig a little deeper." She pressed, glancing at Violet who was watching Elena curiously.

"When I'm with him...it feels unpredictable, like...like I'm free." She expressed, lifting her shoulders into a small shrug.

"And how do you feel when you're with Stefan?" Rebekah added, turning her head towards said vampire. Violet felt quite sympathetic towards the forever 17 year old. She had never been in love before Klaus came along, but she could never imagine what it must feel like to have the person you're in love with fall out of love with you and in love with your sibling.

Caroline sighed, looking desperately at Rebekah. "Stop."

"She can't, she's compelled." Rebekah reminded her.

Elena kept her gaze on the table as she replied, her voice weak and solemn. "Lately, I feel like I'm a project, like I'm a problem that needs to be fixed." The brunette glanced up at her ex boyfriend, "I think I make him sad, and I can't be with someone like that, because when he looks at me, all he sees is a broken toy."

Rebekah gives a satisfied smile, leaning down to place her face closer to Elena's, compelling her once again. "Do you still love Stefan?"

Without hesitance, Elena replied, "Yes."

"Are you still in love with Stefan?"

Elena blinked, "No." She spoke, tears quickly forming in her eyes at the realization of her words. In response, Stefan let out a shaky breath, swallowing thickly as he too resisted the urge to cry.

"Did that hurt?" Rebekah asked, walking closer to Stefan. "Having someone you love drive a dagger through your heart?" At her words, Violet couldn't help but glance down guiltily. She knew Rebekah wasn't upset with her, but she also knew that she could have put up more of a fight.

"Go to hell." Stefan growled. Rebekah immediately squatted down, her face level with the younger vampire's.

"Did.that.hurt?" She asked again, her teeth clenched and her eyes icy as she spoke.

The Salvatore glared at nothing, taking a few seconds to speak. "Yes."

Rebekah gave him a bitter smile. "Welcome to the last 900 years of my life." Just as the sentence concluded, the library doors burst open, Tyler running in with wide eyes.

"Ah, good, you're here." Rebekah said as she stood. "It was just getting depressing."

Tyler glanced around disbelievingly. "What the hell is going on?"

As Violet walked to stand by Rebekah's side, the Original smirked. "Listen to the rules carefully. Stay in the building, no vamp-running in the hallways."

Caroline furrowed her blonde eyebrows at her, "Vamp-running from what?"

Rebekah only smiles, turning her head to look Tyler in the eyes. "Turn."

"What?" Elena immediately yelled, all of the vampires looking at her like she had grown a second head.

"He can't, he'll lose control!" Caroline exclaimed.

Rebekah looked at her like it was obvious, "That's the whole point. I've exhausted all your knowledge. Now I have the professor to help me find the cure, you're just competition." She said with a false grin. "Whoever finds it first gets to decide what to do with it. Use it, share it, destroy it, save it. I want that to be me." She continued, ignoring their expressions of disbelief.

Tyler spoke up, glaring at the blonde Original. "But if I turn, I'll kill them."

Rebekah tilted her head, pouting as if she felt bad for the hybrid. "Yes, you will." Her voice turned hard, her gaze fierce as she compelled him. "Turn!"

With that, Rebekah made her exit, her black healings clicking across the tile floor. All heads turned to Violet, who had been standing there silently.

"Violet, please." Caroline quietly pleaded, "I know you're angry but is this really neces–"

Violet cut her off with a scoff. "Angry? I'm furious, Caroline!" She snapped, making the vampire flinch at her tone. "You can kidnap me, torture me, kill me for all I care! But you all have to realize that Klaus is my actual fucking soulmate! From the minute I was born, I was destined to fall in love with him. He's the person I'm going to spend the rest of my immortal life with and he matters more to me than anyone ever will! Anything you do to hurt him, will hurt me twice as much." She explained.

"And Tyler," Violet turned to the hybrid. "I'm sorry about you're mom, but I'm not sorry about those damn hybrids. I don't care that they were your friends and that they used to be innocent werewolves that just wanted to escape the pain. What I care about is the life of the man I love, and if that makes me your guys' enemy, then so be it. Because I'm done being stuck in the middle like this." Violet declared, tears growing in her eyes as she looked around at all of the people that used to be her best friends. The people that used to be her family.

"I don't hate you. Any of you. Not even you Elena." She continued, allowing a tear to fall down her cheek. "But I can't do this anymore. I don't want to choose sides every time someone gets hurt. I won't. So I'm sorry," Violet confessed, backing up in the direction of the door.

"But I'm done."

Oh shitttt.

So I'm not gonna make this super long because I know that no one likes to read a long ass authors note. I know I haven't updated in so long but I will not be abandoning this story anytime soon.

There are currently 3 more chapters before this book is finished and I can't wait to bring Violet into The Originals.

I don't have much more to say other than, please, EVERYONE, vote and comment more! I'm such a new writer and I can't get better if I don't get any feedback. Even if the feedback is about something I'm doing wrong, tell me! I want to get better as a writer so I can't write y'all the best books that I can!

For the rest of this month, I am going to try and update at least once a week in order to finish this book by the end of February and hopefully get the sequel started soon after.
