TICK. TOCK. TICK. TOCK.

The sound of the clock ticking in Klaus' room used to relax Violet, the few times she had slept there because of a nightmare or because she just wanted to be with Klaus.

But now, he was dead.

And soon, she would be too.

At this point, Violet didn't mind dying. She knew that when she did finally fall asleep and succumb to her fate, she would wake up on the other side with Klaus right there with her. That was part of being soulmates, she remembers Klaus once telling her. The saying, "Until death do us part" didn't exist for them. Because even after death, they would be together.

Whether or not they would find peace, Violet didn't know. And although the thought of being able to see him when comforted her a small bit, she still couldn't seem to get the image of Klaus' body erupting into the flames as the white oak stake was shoved into his chest.

By now she was ready to die. She wasn't afraid of death, she was just afraid of the pain. Though as she had gotten older and begun the habit of self harming, not even the pain was too frightening anymore. But even as she laid in her soulmates bed, breathing in his familiar scent, her body just wouldn't rest. No matter how many times she closed her eyes and tried to force herself to sleep, nothing of the sort happened.

Her mind thought back to hours earlier, after Klaus was killed and before the present time.

Rebekah and Elijah had brought her home, and though she had continuously told them that it was okay to leave and investigate why the other vampires were still alive, they had stayed, saying that her last few hours of life were not to be spent alone.

It warmed her heart, really. How close she had gotten to the members of the Mikaelson family--excluding Esther, Mikael, and Finn of course--in such a short period of time. Violet remembers her and Rebekah crying, and even Elijah who was usually the calm and collected one, had shed a few tears during their emotional goodbyes before they sent Violet off to have some time to herself before she would inevitably pass.

That brings her to now, wrapped up in the white sheets of Klaus' bed. She had cried herself out by now, only a few stray tears falling every so often but nothing like she had been doing before. Violet didn't think she had ever been more heartbroken.

She silently wondered if her old friends would be saddened by her death. She wondered if they would show up to her funeral. Wondered if Elena along with the Salvatore's would bring some violet's to her grave. Bonnie, Elena, and Caroline would always joke that, when hey got older, they would get her a bouquet of violets for all of the special occasions like her anniversary with her future husband, and Mother's Day.

But now there would be no husband and there would be no Mother's Day. Because any minute now, Violet would soon be gone.

She thought she heard Rebekah talking to her brother Caroline and some other people wanting to come see her, but she was for sure as all she could hear was her own screams echoing through her mind from when Alaric had staked Klaus.

It seemed like years she laid in that bed, waiting for death to take her away. But slowly, she could feel her eyelids become heavy and then she was finally asleep.

Violet didn't know what to expect when she woke up. She didn't know if everything was supposed to look different, because it didn't. But she did expect to wake up and still be able to see her body laying on the bed, but it wasn't. She was still in her body.

And that confused her immensely, but she honestly didn't know what was supposed to happen. Yes, she had died once before, but all she could remember was the black abyss that surrounded her until she woke up a few hours later.

Violet slowly peeled the sheets off of her body, swinging her legs off of the bed and standing up shakily. She looked over at the clock that hung on the wall; 1:35 it read.

She could roughly remember falling asleep at around 2 in the morning. So it had almost been 12 hours. But everything seemed normal.

Violet could hear voices downstairs. But her ordinary human hearing kept her from putting faces to any of the voices. The petite human walked out of her room, making her way down the stairs and through the house until she reached the source of the voices.

Violet couldn't hold back the gasp she let out when her eyes landed on Rebekah holding back Damons hand that held the white oak stake. She could feel her heart pounding and it only got worse when both of the vampires heads shot to her and their eyes widened.

"Violet?" They both whispered out. Violet couldn't believe that they could still see her, but before she could respond, gun shots sounded through the house and Rebekah was repeatedly shot. Violet froze and before she could blink, a pair of arms wrapped around her body and she was quickly sped out of the mansion.

"How are you alive?" Was the first thing Damon asked after they had climbed into his Camaro and drove off.

Violet opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. She was at a loss for words, not knowing the answer to the question.

All she could do is shrug. "I have no idea. I was supposed to pass after I fell asleep. But here I am, alive and breathing with no clue how because I clearly watched my soulmate get staked through the heart and die so I have no clue-"

"Violet." Damon cut in. His voice was gentle, soft and sympathetic because he could tell by the cracks in her voice and the tears that welled up in her eyes, that she was not okay. "I'm sorry. I really am. I know I hated Klaus but you obviously cared a lot for him, and I'm sorry that Ric killed him. But for what it's worth," Damon took his eyes off the road to look at her, making sure that she could see that he was sincere. "I'm glad you're not dead."

Violet wiped away a few stray tears that had fallen. "Really?" Damon nodded. "I thought you guys all made it pretty clear that I wasn't wanted anymore." The blonde girl mumbled.

The Salvatore vampire sighed. "We did. But after news got out that Klaus was dead and that soon you would be too, I guess we all kinda realized that we were in the wrong. Klaus was your soulmate, it's not really your fault that you have that bond with him. Besides, I kinda missed having someone to talk to."

Violet cracked a smile. "Thanks, Damon."

The remainder of the ride was mainly silent but it didn't take very long to arrive at the Gilbert Residence.

Both Violet and Damon were disappointed to see that Stefan and Elena were both gone and assumed that whoever shot Rebekah had to have been the same people who took them. The two of them got to work on picking up everything that had been knocked over, when Sheriff Forbes entered the home.

Liz gasped when her eyes landed on Violet, tears welling up in the woman's eyes as she rushed over and pulled the teenager into her embrace. "Oh, my god. I can't believe you're here. Caroline told me you'd be gone by morning." Violet grinned and hugged the woman back.

With her and Caroline always being closer than either of them were with Bonnie or Elena, Liz had become like a mother to her over the years. It was nice to know that she didn't hate her like everyone else seemed to. "I was supposed to. Klaus is dead, I should be too. I guess something when wrong."

Liz squeezed Violet comfortingly once more before she pulled away. "Where are they?" She asked, referring to Stefan and Elena.

"They're gone." Damon replied. "Whoever nailed Rebekah, took them too. Please tell me you have something. Anything." He said as Meredith Fell emerged from the kitchen.

"I can't. The Council locked Carol and me out of our offices. Files, computers, everything." The Sheriff told them.

Damon began to approach the blonde woman. "So, the Mayor and the Sheriff never contemplated a backup plan, Liz?"

"Damon, relax." Meredith spoke up. "When Caroline called to say she got away, did she know where they were planning to take her?"

Sheriff Forbes shook her head. "No. Just that she was in some van in the middle of nowhere and she managed to escape."

"Perfect." Damon remarked sarcastically. "We've narrowed it down to nowhere."

Someone knocked on the door and Matt entered a second later. "Hey, is Elena here?" He glanced down at his former friend, his eyes widening. "Violet?"

Before anyone could respond, Damon turned around and rushed towards Matt, pinning him up against a wall by his throat. "In what world are you the one that gets to live?"

All three woman hurry over and try to pull the vampire off of the vulnerable human. "Damon, stop! It wasn't his fault!" Meredith yells.

"Let him go, Damon! Now!" Liz demands. "Damon!" Violet shouts. The vampire finally releases Matt, narrowing his eyes at him.

"With your vervain and Alaric's weapons; they could be anywhere." Sheriff Forbes says.

Damon paces around the living room. "Come on, guys, think. It takes a lot to hold a vampire. Reinforced steel, iron doors."

Matt and Violet's suddenly look at each other, realizing the same thing. "The Pastor has a cattle ranch." Violet's speaks up. The adults all look towards the two teenagers. Matt nods. "Those pens could easily be modified." He adds.

"It's remote, it's secluded." Meredith agrees.

Damon looks towards the human he recently attacked. "Well, guess what? Looks like you get a chance to prove how sorry you really are. Let's go. You too, Vi."

Violet grins slightly at her old nickname before quickly following them out.

Damon, Matt and Violet all exit the vampires car, walking toward the familiar house.

"So, what, we just storm the place with zero weapons?" Matt asks.

Damon looks at the house. "Nah, we don't need weapons. Just bait." The vampire suddenly lunges at Matt, biting into his neck. "Damon!" Violet shouts in surprise. He lets go of Matt, the human falling to the ground. Damon looks at Violet and motions for her to get to the ground.

"Yoo-hoo! Anybody home? Big, bad vampire out here." Damon calls out in a taunting voice.

Pastor Young opens the front door, his eyes landing on Violet and Matt on the ground, both looking in pain. "Let them go. They're innocent."

Damon glanced back at them. "Well, that's the point." He says like it's obvious. "Give me Stefan and Elena, they're all yours."

The raven haired vampire picks up Matt by his shirt and Violet by her arm, making sure to keep his grip on the small blonde girl loose.
"Come on, Pastor. You know I'll kill them. I want to kill 'em."

Pastor Young scowls. "Go away! You are not invited in and I'm not coming out!"

Suddenly, a gunshot sounds and Damon drops the floor. A moment later, two officers come out, pointing their guns at Damons body. One of them gently nudged his body with his foot, looking up at his partner when Damon didn't move.

Damon suddenly gets up, grabbing both of their guns. He snaps the neck of one of them and then takes the others gun, impaling the officer with the weapon. In his fit of rage, Damon walks over to a coughing Matt, kicking him in the side. "Go ahead and kill me." Matt chokes out. "You can't possibly hate me more than I hate myself."

"Oh, yes I can." Damon replies, placing his foot on Matt's neck, beginning to push down.

"Damon, don't!" Violet yells out, now standing up. She wouldn't have done more but stayed in her place, afraid that she might get hurt as well. "It should have been you."

Out of nowhere, someone rushes towards Damon and knocks him off of Matt. Violet gasps at Elena's vamped out face.

"Leave him alone!"

Violet followed Rebekah into the mansion, and by the look on Rebekah's face, Klaus was somewhere in the house.

The vampire turned to look at the shorter blonde. "He's in his art room. Go. I'll go and talk to him later."

Violet wanted to tell Rebekah that she should go see her brother first, but she honestly didn't think she could wait any longer. Her first chance to tell him how she felt was ripped away from her, and she wouldn't let her second chance go to waste.

With her heart pounding in her chest, Violet approached the room, stopping in the doorway. She took in the sight of her soulmate, his body looking perfect and healthy without so much as a scratch. She felt tears come to her eyes as she made her presence known.

"Nik?" His head snapped towards her, a large grin forming on his face as he opened up his arms. Violet ran towards him faster than she had ever ran and jumped in his arms, sobbing into his neck as he spun her around.

Violet let out a mix of laughs and sobs, mumbling something that he couldn't hear into his shoulder. Klaus pulled away from her, looking at her, still with a grin but a confused expression as well. "What?"

The petite blonde breathed heavily, a smile growing on her face as she repeated her words again. "My necklace. It glowed the moment I fell in love with you." The hybrids jaw dropped, not believing what he was hearing. "What did you just say?" He whispered.

Violet let out a laugh. "I love you, Nik. I'm in love with you."

It was silent in the room--she couldn't remember how much time had passed when it finally happened. Klaus stared at her for several moments, his mind spinning as he wondered what he did to deserve such an amazing soulmate. The hybrid glanced from her sparkling hazel eyes to her parted lips, grinning at the single nod she gave him and carefully met his mouth with hers, catching her in a breathtaking kiss.

Violet felt light headed and she could hear her heart pounding in her ears. The whole experience was exhilarating. She never wanted to let go of her soulmate; he was like a drug that she was so shamelessly addicted to.

Even with her having no experience of kissing or being in love in general, Violet felt more comfortable and at home than she ever had before. Being with Klaus was a familiar feeling, yet she had only known him for a few months now. Though she knew it was because they were literally meant to be.

Violet knew in that moment that she was truly, madly, crazy, deeply in love with Klaus Mikaelson.

They both pulled away to take a breath, their foreheads resting against each other. "You have no idea how long I've waited for you to say that." Klaus breathe out before connecting his lips with Violet's once again.

Violet shivered when she felt his cold hands slip under the bottom of her shirt, rubbing soothing circles on her hip with his thumb. Her mouth dropped open slightly when he began to trail kisses down her chin, going from her jaw to her neck. She subconsciously grabbed the bottom of his shirt, tugging on it lightly as a sign.

Klaus suddenly pulled away, a concerned look on his face. "Are you sure?" The hybrid wanted nothing more than to show his soulmate just how head over heels he was for her, but he would never force her into anything she didn't want to do.

She looked at him for a moment before nodding. "I've never been so sure of anything in my life." Klaus chuckled, locking their lips and speeding them to his bedroom.

"Nik," Violet breathed out as he placed short, sweet kissing all over her neck. Klaus hummed. "I love you."

Klaus placed a kiss on her lips, both of them smiling wide. "I love you more, my little flower."

"We're finishing the memorial we didn't get to have earlier." Violet heard Stefan's voice say as she stepped out of her car.

Her heart was racing, she'll admit that she was a bit scared and surprised when she got a text from Stefan asking her to meet with the group at the high school. Violet knew she had said sorry before all the drama with Alaric happened, but she still wasn't sure where she stood with everyone.

Violet froze a few feet away from them, bringing her bottom lip between her teeth and gnawing on it nervously when everyone's heads snapped towards her.

A first no one said anything, so Violet took the opportunity. "Hi."

Caroline was the first to react, using her supernatural speed to run over to Violet and wrap her in a tight embrace. "Oh, my god, Violet. I thought I would never see you again." Caroline quietly spoke, her voice thick as she held in tears. Violet squeezed the blonde vampire tightly. "Can't get rid of me that easily, Care."

The two girls pulled away with chuckles, turning their heads to look up at the rest of the group. Violet could only beam when one by one, everyone, except Damon and Matt who she had already seen, came up and hugged her, apologizing and expressing how glad they were that she was still alive.

When the small reunion was finished, Stefan began to pass out lanterns and continue his conversation with his pessimistic brother. "We need to start healing, Damon. We've all lost so much, especially recently. I think we're numb to it. We push it away, we make a joke out of it, ignore how we feel. We've never just let ourselves grieve." The vampire explained in a solemn tone.

Damon rose his eyebrows and smirked sarcastically. "So, you're lighting lanterns?"

"Yeah. Yeah, we need to do this." Stefan replied.

But the older Salvatore was budging. "What we need to do is find out who this hunter is and what he knows about the death of the Council." Damon scowled. "We have more important things to be doing right now than this."

Stefan stared at his brother, his expression completely serious. "Not tonight, we don't." He said, only many Damon scoff. "This is for my uncle Zach and my friend Lexi and for Alaric." He lit his lantern, passing the lighter over to Matt.

Matt swallowed thickly. "This is for Vicki." Once his lantern with lit, Caroline stood up and gently took the lighter from him.

"This is for my dad. And Tyler's." Caroline said with a sad smile. Jeremy hops down from his spot on the table and takes the lighter, looking down at his older sister. "This is for our parents." He glances at Matt. "For Vicki. Anna. Jenna. And Alaric." Jeremy says before lighting his lantern and holding out the lighter to Violet

Violet took the lighter, pursing her lips before looking up. "This is for Alaric." She looked up at Damon. "For Rose. And for everyone else that we've lost." The petite blonde sighed sadly and lit her lantern. Violet held the lighter towards Damon, looking at him hopefully. She knew he probably wouldn't take it, but she also knew that he meant well. Damon didn't grieve like everyone else did, that was just how he was.

Damon put up a hand to stop her. "No way. I'm not doing that." He declined, swiftly turning and walking away, disappearing in the woods. Violet sighed, handing the lighter to Bonnie.

The witch took a lantern from the cardboard box next to her, standing up to stand between Violet and Caroline. Bonnie took a deep breath, igniting the lighter. "This is for my Grams."

Everyone looks at Elena, the doppelgänger going to stand next to her boyfriend. "This um – is for my mom, my dad, Jenna, everyone that you've all lost, everyone that this town has lost." She spoke, glancing at everyone of her friends. "And for me, I guess."

Elena steps forward and releases her lantern. One at a time, everyone gives their lanterns a push, sending them up into the sky.

Violet heard the sound of the door opening, glancing up at her soulmate who gave her a small smile. And just like that, all of Violet's worries had vanished.

"Who the hell are you two?" Tyler Lockwood defensively questioned. The mayor looked over at her son. "Tyler, it's okay. They're here for your protection."

Tyler gave his mother an incredulous look. "More deputies?"

Klaus took he opportunity to enter, his hand interlaced with Violet's and a hybrid following behind them. The Original smirked. "Not exactly." Tyler sighed heavily with a glare. "They're hybrids."

"Violet and I were halfway to Chicago when I heard you were attacked. I had hoped to leave Mystic Falls for good, but duty calls." Klaus explained with an annoyed expression. If Violet was being honest, she was also a little annoyed when they had to return to Mystic Falls. Her parents had already been compelled and her bags had been packed, but of course something had to happen to prevent them from finally leaving.

"Nice to know you care." Tyler remarked. Without hesitation Klaus replied, "I don't." Making Tyler glare at him. "I should have killed you for the little stunt you and your friends pulled--stopping my heart, leaving me in a coffin to rot. Not to mention taking me away from my soulmate."

"Yeah, well you used my body as an escape hatch. So, maybe we're even." The younger hybrid said making Violet scoff.

Klaus clenched his jaw. "Not even close." A smirk grew on his flawless face. "But, you hybrids are a dying breed. I can't make more of you, and I won't have anyone taking liberties with the ones I have left."

The two soulmates begin to walk away. "Consider them your new bodyguards." Klaus said, pointing to the three hybrids that occupied the room before him and Violet left.

After hearing both Tyler and Carol go up the stairs, Violet turned to her soulmate with a sigh. "I have to go."

Klaus rolled his eyes. "Why do you insist on going to that wretched place? You'll probably be too busy traveling the world with me to go to college anyway."

Violet giggled. "That wretched place is called school, Nik. And I know I probably won't go to college, but since we have to stay here, I might as well go. Spend some time with my friends before you and I leave."

During her small explanation, Klaus had placed his hands on Violet's hips, holding her close to him. Ever since their intimate night, the two of them had been almost inseparable. It was obvious to everyone that something had happened between them, everyone could see. And Violet had also been cornered by Caroline who squealed excitedly and pointed out her 'after sex glow'.

Violet looked up into her soulmates eyes, feeling like she could just drown in his baby blue irises. They both grinned before connecting their lips, neither being able to hold back their smiles.

"Words cannot describe how much I adore you, flower." Klaus muttered softly against her lips. Violet could feel her cheeks become warm, cupping her hands around his and standing on her toes to be able to reach his height.

Violet finally pulled away after several moments, disappointed grunts escaping the hybrid. "Okay, okay, I really have to go. School starts in 15 minutes and I have to walk."

Klaus removed one of his hands from her lip, digging in his jacket pocket before pulling out the familiar set of keys. "I had one of the hybrids drive your car here. It should be outside."

Violet beamed, pressing her lips against his once more. "I love you." Klaus grinned, placing a chaste kiss on her forehead before he finally let her leave the room.

As the petite blonde exited the room, she bumped into a slightly larger body, causing her to drop the phone that was clutched in her hands. "Oh, I'm sorry." A feminine voice apologized, bending down to pick up the cellular device. Violet looked up with a confused expression, her eyes landing on a tall brunette.

The girl was extremely pretty with a confident aura surrounding her. With a cute outfit and the slightly mischievous glint in her green eyes, Violet felt a bit intimidated. "No, um, it's okay. Are you one of Nik's hybrids?"

The brunette tilted her head in confusion. "Who?"

"Oh, sorry, Klaus I meant." Violet replied, realizing her mistake. She often forgot that not many people called him Nik. The girl shook her head. "No, I'm a friends of Tyler's. I met him in the Appalachians. I'm Hayley, by the way." She introduced herself.

Violet smiled politely at her. "Violet. Well, um, anyway, I really have to get to school. It was nice meeting you, Hayley." The blonde said, sending Hayley a smile before leaving the Lockwood residence.

"So, how's everything with you and Nik?" Rebekah asked with a smile as they walked towards first period. "I know I've been a bit busy with my new house and all so I haven't been around. Tell me everything."

Violet shrugged, a grin slowly started to form on her face. "It's–it's great. He's been nothing but a gentleman and sweet and...I don't know. I just love him a lot and I couldn't be happier."

Rebekah smiled widely. "Oh, you two are so precious. I'm so glad your his soulmate and not some annoying, whiney twit." Violet could only giggle as they approached the classroom.

"Morning, everyone." Rebekah chirped as they entered. Some students greeted her back as she began to pass out some flyers. "So, I'm throwing a little anti-curfew party at my new house. Starts at fifth period and goes 'til whenever. Spread the word." She announced, looking over at where Elena and Stefan were sat.

"You're welcome to join, Elena, if you'd like to bury the hatchet." The Original grins, placing a flyer on her desk.

The doppelgänger glared at Rebekah. "It's a pretty enormous hatchet." The older vampire rolled her eyes. "Well, I'm feeling generous of spirit."

Elena picked up the green piece of paper. "New house, huh? Did your brother finally kick you out?"

Rebekah stared at her enemy with an emotionless expression. "He didn't kick me out, I left. Besides, I didn't want to hear him a don Violet going at it all night." Violet's eyes widened along with Elena's and Stefan's.

"Rebekah." Violet hissed, slapping the vampires arm with the back of her hand.

Shaking her head, Elena looked up at the Original with narrowed eyes. "So, you left the only person on earth that actually likes you?"

Violet sent the brunette and disapproving look. "Elena, please."

The doppelgängers words clearly effected Rebekah, the older vampire replying with, "Well, Violet likes me. And your boyfriend liked me once." Stefan gave her a look, clearly not happy to have been brought into the conversation. "Actually, a lot more than once." Rebekah smirks at Elena's furious expression.

Stefan leaned forward in his seat. "Why are you still in town, Rebekah? Don't you have anywhere else to go?"

"Well, history's my favorite class." Rebekah informed. She looked around the classroom with a mock confused look. "Actually, where is Mr. Saltzman...?" She trailed off. Violet sighed, knowing that her best friend had gone a bit too far.

Elena looks at Rebekah with a disbelieving expression, violently tapping her pencil against the desk to control her anger. Rebekah pauses dramatically. "Oh, that's right, I killed him." She whispered.

Elena loses her temper and throws her pencil at Rebekah's face, only for the Original to catch it. Quickly flipping it, Rebekah throws it back at Elena, impaling her in the shoulder, just as the bell rings.

As the two glare at each other, Elena rips the pencil from her shoulder, her and Stefan leaving the classroom before anyone could notice the encounter.

Violet could only sigh as she and Rebekah took their seats.

"I can't believe you're not gonna go to my party." Rebekah repeated for what seemed like the hundredth time that day.

Violet rolled her eyes, turning down the volume of the radio a bit. "I told you, Bekah--parties really aren't my thing. Besides, lots of people are going to go, I'm sure you can find someone to entertain you. Maybe that cute guy from third period?" She suggested.

Rebekah just chuckled with a shrug as Violet pulled up to her new house. "Well, it won't be the same without my best friend there, but I suppose I'll be okay." She said with a dramatic sigh.

Violet laughed. "Bye, Bekah." She called out before the vampire closed the car door and the human was off to go see her soulmate.

Soon after, Violet parked outside of the Lockwood Mansion, seeing a familiar blonde head in the doorway of the house.

"You're kidding me, Klaus?" Caroline said.

Violet chuckled, catching their attention. "Don't worry, he promised me that he wouldn't cause too much trouble while we're here."

Caroline slightly grinned. "I thought you'd be at Rebekah's party?"

The shooter blonde shrugged. "You know parties have never been my thing. Besides, if we're all getting along again, I have to do whatever it takes to keep the peace, even if that means being with Klaus all the time."

The blonde vampire playfully rolled her eyes, leaning back into Tyler. "Don't act like you don't want to be with him."

Violet smiled as she stepped passed them into the house. "Whatever. Do you know where he is?"

"Upstairs I think." Tyler replied. Violet nodded thankfully before heading where Tyler told her and following the sound of voices into the study.

"My reputation precedes me. Hopefully not all bad." Violet could hear her soulmates voice say.

"A little bad." She heard Hayley reply. "Mostly repulsive." The brunette says just before Violet  entered the study.

Violet smiled at her soulmate, putting her bag down by the door pulling him into a hug, pecking him on the lips. The blonde waved at Hayley who smiled awkwardly at her. "So, you're a friend of Tyler's?" Klaus continued. "That's strange, he's never mentioned you."

Klaus pauses, and Violet assumes that he's listening in on someone's conversation, Tyler's she's guessing by the smirk on his face. "And I think I know why."

Violet was mindlessly scrolling through her social medias when Tyler walked into the study, the young hybird stopping when he catches sight of Klaus leaned back in the chair with his feet propped up on the desk.

"She's quite feisty, that Hayley." Klaus smirked.

Tyler inhaled, a slight look of fear on his face. "Where is she?" Klaus only grinned. "Oh, she had to run, but don't worry, I had her take the back door so Caroline wouldn't see." The Original said, making his soulmate sigh. As much as she loved him, he could be quite annoying at times.

Tyler narrowed his eyes, beginning to approach Klaus with an angry expression. "Whatever you think you know--"

"--I don't know anything," Klaus cut in. "But I've put together a pretty convincing picture." He smiled smugly at Tyler. "Why don't you tell me where my imagination deviates from reality?"

As Klaus stood from his seat, Violet sat up slightly, wanting to hear if her soulmates assumptions were true. She didn't want to believe that Tyler would be unfaithful to Caroline, but at this point, she never knew.

"You went off to the Appalachians to break my sire-bond." Klaus spoke as he began to circle his first successful hybrid. "There, you met a pack of werewolves, begged them for help. Among them was a girl. She was gorgeous, with the same animal instincts as you. Emotions ran high, inhibitions ran low–"

Tyler swallowed thickly, his eyes slightly widening. "–Stop it!–"

"–Then, in a moment of weakness, the thick, sexual tension became something much more real." The Lockwood hybrid quickly spun to face Klaus, the panicked look in his eyes causing Violet to sigh disappointedly. "I said stop!"

"And Caroline has no idea." Violet finished for her soulmate, glaring at Tyler with a clenched jaw.

Tyler looks flabbergasted as Klaus scoffed. The sudden sound of Tyler's phone ringing cut their conversation short. Klaus walks over and snatched the phone from the desk, smirking at the name on the screen and taking his former seat. "Hello, Damon."

"Klaus?" Violet heard Damons voice say from the other line. "Where's Tyler?"

"Tyler's otherwise occupied, making big decisions about honesty and whatnot." Klaus replied, sending the younger hybrid a knowing look. "Is there anything I can do?"

"I'm going after the vampire hunter, so if he'd like to join...?" Damon informed.

"He wouldn't." Klaus said, glancing at Tyler before grinning. "I, however..."

"Is a hospital really the best place for a germophobe?" Violet heard an unfamiliar voice say. 'Hunter?' The blonde mouthed to her soulmate, receiving a nod in response.

Damon steps out slowly, a piece of paper in his hands. "Did I say I was a germophobe?" The vampire rhetorically questioned. "Pfft. Sorry. I mean vampire."

Connor pulls out a gun to shoot Damon, but grunts as he is struck by an arrow. He drops his gun, kneeling down to pick it up when he's impaled by another arrow.

Damon makes a mock painful expression. "Stings, doesn't it?"

The hunter attempts to grab his gun again, but the weapon is quickly kicked away. He looked up to see Klaus, the hybrid smirking. "Hello, mate." Connor looks over at Damon, his eyes landing on Violet who was know standing next to the raven haired vampire with a raised eyebrow.

The three of them watch as Connor attempts to pull the arrow from his side.  "Keep it up, buddy." Damon interrupts. "We'll be scraping you off the ceiling."

The hunter glared at them. "You three are gonna kill me anyway."

Violet thought about telling him that she wouldn't, even though she knew in her mind that she wanted to. He had come into her hometown with no other intention then to kill every single vampire, and that meant all of her friends. She wasn't going to let him get away with that.

Klaus glanced at Violet. "Well, let's not be too hasty. I feel like we're just getting to know each other!" He told Connor.

"Let's start with the basics." Damon spoke up. "Where are you from? What do you know? Maybe you can cue me in on this 'greater evil' because I've fought this guy–" He points at Klaus with his thumb. "–and there's nothing more evil than that." The vampire smirked, handing the hybrid the paper to unfold.

"Yeah, truth be told, I'm as evil as it gets." The Original agreed. Violet rolled her eyes with a chuckle.

The dark skinned man looked at them with a  murderous glare. "I'm not telling you anything. And-- if you think if you kill me, it's gonna be over-- there's another waiting to take my place."

"See, this is what I like to hear; vague threats, ominous prophecies, disappearing tattoos." Damon smirked, though the sentence caused Klaus to drop his smile. "What do you mean, tattoos?"

The vampire looked over at him. "Don't bother, you can't see the damn thing."

Klaus kneels down next to Connor. "There's more to you than meets the eye, isn't there?"

Connor looks at him, suddenly attacking him with a stake, but Klaus is quick to catch his arm. "Nice try, but I'm faster than your average vampire." Klaus twists his arm and grabs the stake out of his hand. Violet looks at her soulmate with a worried expression, seeing the look of realization and slight fear on his face. "You're one of the Five." He mutters

Damon furrowed his eyebrows. "The what?"

"And I'm faster than your average hunter." Connor states.

Damon, realizing what the hunter was going to do, speeds out of the room quickly. Klaus immediately brought Violet under his arm, and then the soulmates and the hunter were gone.

Klaus and Violet enter Stefan's room in the Boarding house, their hands intertwined. Stefan is quick to stand up with a sigh of relief.
"You came."

"I did. And for future reference, one voicemail is just as effective as nine." The hybrid replies in an annoyed tone. Elena moans in discomfort causing Violet to looked at her worriedly. "Elena, what's wrong?"

"She has werewolf venom in her system." Stefan told them, his face showing that he was clearly worried and panicked. "You know you're the only one that can heal her, Klaus. Please."

Klaus smirked slightly, but Violet could see his blue eyes become a shade darker in anger. "And what would you have done if I were no longer here? Hm? If you and your friends had succeeded in ridding the world of me? Let's play that game for a moment, shall we?"

Stefan angrily steps forward. "Whatever you want from me--"

"I don't want anything from you!" Klaus exclaims angrily. Violet but her lip anxiously. She knew had a point. Had Klaus successfully been killed, Elena would be dead in the next hour, and it would be their fault.

Klaus walks over towards Elena, sitting in the empty space next to her body. "Her, on the other hand..." He paused and stared thoughtfully at the doppelgänger. "If you had told me a few hours ago, I wouldn't have cared a lick about her dying. But, as it turns out..." He bites into his wrist, moving to stand beside her. "You may be of use to me after all."

The Original places his wrist over Elena's mouth, grinning as the newbie vampire greedily drank the blood. "Yes. There we go."

Connor wakes up on the couch in his trailer, attempting to get up once he spotted Klaus, but the hybrid quickly pushed him back down.

The hunter eyed him carefully. "You saved me."

"Congratulations," Klaus smirked. "You just became worth more to me alive than dead."

Connor glanced at Violet for a moment. "What--what did you mean when you said I was one of the Five?"

Klaus' smirk dropped, staring intently at the hunter. "You don't know your own history?" The Original squatted down in front of the small couch.

"Well, let's just say, it's made you the most well-protected vampire hunter in town."
