"UGH, WHO IS THIS GUY, SAFARI SAM?" Alaric/Klaus grumbled as he looked through the history teachers wardrobe.

"Okay," He held up two shirts. "Bad? Or badder?"

"The dark colors suit you better." Katherine breathed out, moving her wrists around desperately to get out of her confinements but to no avail.

"Oh, thank you honey!" Alaric/Klaus told the doppelgänger sarcastically.

"Okay! Pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?"

Katherine nodded. "The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house."

"Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last think I need to do is resurrect Elijah." Alaric/Klaus said as he shrugged on the black shirt. "That guy is a buzzkill."

The vampire looked up at him. "Don't forget, you're in the outs with your girlfriend Jenna."

The man rolled his eyes. "Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?"

Katherine gulped nervously. "That's it."

She flinched when his hand stroked her hair. "So jumpy." He mumbled. "Please, just...kill me. I've told you everything that I know." She pleaded in a fearful voice.

Alaric/Klaus bent down to her level. "See, I believe that you believe that. But what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm?" He taunted.

"Anything? Tell me." He compelled.

In a monotone voice, Katherine spoke. "They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger."

"Bonnie the best friend?" Katherine gives him a curt nod.

Alaric/Klaus sighed and folded his arms, standing up straight. "I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore."

"She doesn't. Or didn't, I-I don't know. You kidnapped me remember? I'm kinda out of the loop."

"Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that." He said.

Alaric/Klaus looked her in the eyes again, compelling her. "Is there anything else I should know about Alaric's life?"

"You're really close with that girl, Violet. Like a father figure to her."

Klaus's mind flashed to the image of the girl he had been seeing in his dreams ever since he became a vampire over 1000 years ago. "Violet? Tell me about her."

"She's blonde, short, quiet, likes to keep to herself but she's definitely not as annoying as the rest of the group. Which is surprising for a human but whatever. She's got some family problems which is why you're so close with her, and that's pretty much all I've gathered about her." Katherine explained.

"What kind of family problems?" Alaric/Klaus asked. Katherine shrugged. "I don't know. I've wondered that too but when I tried to compel it out of her it didn't work so she was either on vervain or for some reason can't be compelled."

Alaric/Klaus hummed in thought.

"Please just kill me, Klaus, and get done with it." She once again pleaded. He gave her a look. "And show you kindness?"

"I've searched for you, for over 500 years." He gave her a sinister smile. "Your death, is going to last at least half that long."

Elena, Bonnie, Violet and Stefan sat in Alaric'a classroom, waiting for said history teacher to arrive and start class.

Elena held up a poster announcing the 60's Decade Dance to Stefan who shook his head, and then to Bonnie and Violet who both nodded with smiles. Elena gave her boyfriend a smug look.

"Hello, class." Alaric/Klaus spoke as he entered the classroom.

All of a sudden, Violet felt this unfamiliar feeling take over. She felt like she was being drawn to something but she had no idea what it was. Then, a mild head ache began to throb in her skull, so she laid her head down, burying her face in her arms.

Klaus too felt this, but when he looked around and saw no familiar face, shook the feeling off and continued. "What are we learning today?" He asked out loud, although the question was directed towards himself.

"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week." A girl, Dana, in the front row told him.

"Right. The sixties." Alaric/Klaus goes to turn around, but froze when his eyes landed on Elena aka his 'precious doppelgänger'.

Focusing on his act, the man coughed and turned to the chalkboard. "The, uh, ahem, the sixties. I wish there was something I could say about the sixties, but actually they kind of sucked. Except for The Beatles of course, they made it bearable."

Violet then looked up as Alaric listed events that happened in the 60's. "Uh, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, we uh, walked on the moon. The watergate-"

"The watergate was the seventies, Ric." A New but familiar voice spoke up. His head snapped to the source of the melodic sound, and his eyes met the hazel ones of the girl that he had seen oh so many times in his dreams.

When the rest of the classroom looked at her puzzled, her cheeks became a light red color that Klaus thought was adorable though he would never admit it.

"I-I mean uh- Mr. Saltzman." She stuttered out awkwardly.

He gave her a soft smile. "Right uh, it all gets mushed together up here. The sixties, seventies. Thank you, Violet."

"Hey Jer, how ya doing? Are you okay at the house alone, with John?" Elena asked and her a Violet approached Bonnie and Jeremy at the lunch table.

"It's not ideal." The younger Gilbert mumbled in reply as he stood up. "You haven't heard from Jenna, have you?" The older of the siblings asked.

"Looks like she's staying on campus, look, I'm late for class." He told her and walked away. The two other girls gave Bonnie a questioning look. "What's going on?"

"I told him he had to dress up tonight and he got all uptight." Bonnie told them. Violet and Elena chuckled as they begin to eat their lunch.

And then, a girl Violet recognized as Dana, walked up to them, looking straight at the blonde. "Hey, Violet, there you are. Okay, this is gonna sound freaky but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you were going to the dance tonight."

Violet's mouth dropped open. "Um, tell him sorry, but I'm not really interested." She said, giving her classmate a polite smile.

"You could at least meet him?" Dana suggested hopefully. "He'll be at the dance tonight. Look for him. His name is Klaus."

The three girls looked at her in bewilderment. "I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Elena asked.

"His name's Klaus." Dana replied slowly. "I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot."

"Where is he, is he here?" Bonnie asked curiously as she looked around the cafeteria. Dana then looked confused. "I don't know."

Bonnie looked at her friends. "She's been compelled." She stated.

"But he wants to know if you'll save him the last dance. How cute is that?" Dana looked at Violet with a grin.

"Adorable." Violet muttered nervously.

"So we go to the dance and find him." Damon said with the same determined look in his eyes that he got when Elena was in danger, which was always.

"Really? How are we gonna do that? We don't even know what he looks like." Stefan argued.

"Something tells me he's not going to be sixteen and pimply."

"He could be anywhere, at any time. He compelled somebody at school." Stefan gave the three girls a look. "Guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"

Someone knocked on the door, and it opened revealing Alaric, who, little did everyone know, was at the moment possessed by Klaus.

"There you are." Damon called. Alaric slowly closed the door behind him. "Sorry, I'm late."

"Hey, I need you to put me as a chaperone for the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move." Damon tells his friend.

Elena sighed. "Ok, so we find him and then what, hm? What's our plan of attack?"

"Me." Bonnie spoke up. "I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."

"That's not gonna be that easy I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around." Alaric/Klaus  pointed out, fighting to urge to smirk.

"Alaric has a point I mean, what if he-" Damon suddenly sped towards Bonnie but before he could reach her, the witch sent him flying across the room with her magic.

Stefan looked at her with raised eyebrows. "Well, I was impressed." He said making Violet giggle. Alaric/Klaus glanced at her and The Original felt the corners of his mouth twitch up.

"It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me." Bonnie looked at Violet and Elena. "I can kill him, guys. I know I can."

Violet walked into the gym of Mystic Falls High School, smiling softly at the cheesy decorations the school probably bought from Party City.

Looking around, Violet spotted her group of friends and approached them with a nervous smile. "Hey."

"Hey!"

"You look amazing!" Bonnie and Elena said when they saw her.

Violet was clad in a mid thigh length, long sleeved back dress with white swirls all over it. The end of her sleeves were flared and she had a white belt tied around her waist. White peace sign earrings and knee high white leather boots were a must according to Caroline and a pair of white round sunglasses were rested on top of her blonde curls.

The blonde smiled at her friends, giving them compliments as well before Dana's voice ran through the speakers. "Thanks for being here everybody." The crown of teenagers cheered. "We have a special shoutout tonight. This is for Violet, from Klaus."

Violet froze, her body going stiff as he heart began to pound in her chest. She gulped and looked at her friends, who were all looking just as concerned.

"That was just a lame, cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us." Damon spoke, placing a comforting hand on Violet's tense shoulder.

"I know everyone here." Elena told the group as she looked around. "Maybe he's not here, he just wants us to believe that he is." Stefan suggested.

"It's a party, people. Blend. Let him come to us." Damon says.

"Good idea." Bonnie agrees, beginning to pull Jeremy away. "No, no, I really don't feel like dancing." The young Gilbert declines. "Too bad." The witch replies as she successfully gets her boyfriend on the dance floor.

"There's Ric. Come on." Damon grabs Violet by the arm gently, not feeling comfortable with Klaus for some reason being so interested in Violet. Damon could feel her shaking and looked back, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Special dedication, huh?" Alaric/Klaus speaks when the two approach him. "This guy's a little twisted."

Damon cranes his neck to look over the crowd. "I'm not impressed." He history teacher snaps his head to the vampire. "No?"

"Let me know if you see anything out of wack." Damon orders and walks away, leaving Violet and Alaric/Klaus.

The man looks down at the significantly smaller girl. "Are you okay?" He asks, noticing how her hands were shaking and hearing the sound of her fast heartbeat.

She looks up at him and Klaus is once again met with the beautiful hazel eyes that hold so much innocence and purity, that he wonders who would ever pair the two together. "It's just the whole Klaus thing, it kinda freaks me out. I have no idea what he wants with me and I-I'm just scared."

Her confession makes the Original feel a bit guilty, as he is the one who is causing her to be stressed and fearful for her life. But Violet doesn't know, is Klaus would never dream of hurting even a hair on her body.

Remembering what Katherine said about their close relationship, he lays a hand on her shoulder, much like Damon had done moments before. "Hey, it's gonna be okay. I promise nothing will happen to you tonight."

In reply, she only gave him a small smile and nodded.

Violet and Elena walk up to Bonnie. "We need to talk to you."

"How could you not tell us?" Elena asked as she pulled Bonnie outside, Violet following a few steps behind.

"Because I knew how you would react." The witch tells them.

Elena shakes her head. "No, no way, it's not an option." Bonnie gives her a look. "It's our only option!"

"Then we'll find another way, ok?" Violet speaks up, though she knows that she was mainly trying to reassure herself, because she knew at the end of the night, one of her best friends won't be alive anymore.

"Bonnie, you're not dying to save my life!" The doppelgänger says, glaring at her best friend. "I have the power to save you! If I don't use it and something happens, that would kill me more!"

"I can't let you-"

"Just answer one question." Bonnie cuts Elena off. "If the situation was reversed, would you do it for me?" Elena's silence only confirms what Bonnie was thinking.

"So you know why I have to."

Elena and Violet glance at each other, tears in their eyes as they think the same thing. "No, no."

A moment later, they see Alaric/Klaus running towards them, looking panicked. "Elena!"

The brunette looks up at the history teacher/vampire hunter. "He has Jeremy." The three girls look at him, all shocked and now terrified. "Yeah, Klaus has Jeremy, come on!"

They all run into he school with Alaric, missing the sly smirk as he successfully leads them inside.

"Okay, so where are you taking us?" Elena asks and they follow Alaric/Klaus.

"Just a little further." He replied, although he was mainly speaking to himself. The doppelgänger's eyebrows furrow as a bad feelings settled into the pit of her stomach.

"Wait. Something's not right." She mumbles. "Where's Jeremy?" Bonnie asks, the three girls stopping in their tracks.

A laugh comes from Alaric. "I just had to get away from that dance. The sixties, ugh. Not my decade." He chuckles.

The history teacher continued to talk as the girls stood their, confused as ever. "I mean whose call was that anyway? I much prefer the twenties. The style, the parties, the jazz."

"Alaric," Violet speaks up cautiously. "Are you on vervain?"

The frightful look that was plastered on the blonde girls face was enough to make Klaus feel guilty but he kept up his act. He would have eternity to make up for any emotional harm he would soon cause to Violet.

"Now why would you ask me that question, Violet?"

Bonnie stepped in front of her friends protectively. "He's been compelled."

"Nope. Try again." He teases. The witch pushed her friends behind her. "What's going on?"

Alaric/Klaus sighs dramatically. "Ok, I'll give you a hint. I am not Alaric."

All three of their hearts seem to skip a beat, dread and fear taking over their minds as the gears in their heads start to turn. "Klaus."

"Surprise!" The Original says in mock excitement. Elena shakes her head, not wanting to believe what was happening. "No, no it's not possible."

"Just relax, Elena. I'm not here to hurt you. You're not on my hit list tonight." He turns to the petite blonde. "Nor you, my precious Violet."

"But you are." The man says to Bonnie, going to lunge at her, only to be thrown against the lockers by her magic. Alaric/Klaus grunts in pain, chuckling as he stood back up. "Now, did I mention I know a witch? You're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that."

Violet and Elena hold each other and watching in horror as Bonnie uses her powers to throw Klaus across the hall, where he slams into the trophy case and shatters the glass.

Alaric/Klaus begins to laugh again as the looks up at the witch. "By all means, fire away. If you kill this body, I'll just get a new one. Maybe Jeremy."

"Go," Bonnie begins to tell her friends. "Go, run, run!" The three girls sprint down the hallway, Bonnie magically slamming the double doors shut.

As they get father away, they run into Damon. "What happened?"

"Klaus, is in Alaric's body." Elena explains in between pants. "He's like, possessing it or something."

Damon's eyes widen. "Go find Stefan. Now." He tells Violet and Elena. The two nod frantically and begin to run away without a second thought.

Elena and Violet enter the gym, pushes through the bodies of dancing teenagers in search for the doppelgänger's boyfriend.

"Hey!" Caroline suddenly approaches them, looking at her two best friends concerned. "Are you okay?"

"Um, yeah, we're just, looking for Stefan." Violet explains with a fake smile, giving Caroline a look.

"Seriously what's wrong?" The taller blonde tries again. "Um, just, um, just stay with Matt, ok?" Before Caroline could reply, the two breathless girls spot Stefan, running towards him.

After explaining to Stefan all that was going on, the vampire lead them back out into the hallway where they met with Damon once again. "There you are." The older vampire speaks.

"What are you doing? Where's Bonnie?" Elena asks.

"She's doing what she has to do." Damon reply with a stony expression. In unison, Elena and Violet yell out, "What?!" at the same time Stefan angrily asks, "Where is she?"

"Stefan let her do this-" Damon starts but is cut off by his younger brother. "Dammit Damon, where is she?!"

Hearing the commotion from somewhere in the school, Stefan, Elena and Violet run towards the source of the sounds, their eyes landing on Alaric/Klaus on the ground, and Bonnie with blood running out of her nose. "Bonnie, no!" Elena yells as the witch slams and locks the doors closed. The two girls and the vampire bang against the door, but even with Stefan's extra strength, the door wouldn't budge.

Furniture and papers fly everywhere around the room and the light bulbs pop open, sending sparks flying everywhere.

Violet and Elena watch hopelessly as their best friend wears herself out, looking back at them with a sad smile. A moment passes before Bonnie's body lurches and falls to the ground as the lights finally go out. "No!" The two humans yell, finally breaking through the door and falling to their knees next to Bonnie's body.

They call her name repeatedly, trying to shake her awake. "Bonnie, Bonnie wake up!" Violet pleads as tears begin to stream down her and Elena's faces. "Stefan she's not breathing!" Elena yells.

"Stefan, Stefan I can't find her pulse Stefan! Do something, please! Stefan, please! Just give her blood, do something please!" The brunette begs her boyfriend, but in reply only receives a sorrowful look.

"It's too late," Stefan tells them, his own voice wobbly. "I'm sorry."

As Elena shakes her head violently, refusing to believe what Stefan is telling her, Violet is holding Bonnie's limp and lifeless hand, staring blankly as tears flow freely down her face.

Damon then enters the room, looking at a hysteric Elena and a blank Violet. "Stefan, get them out of here. I'll deal with the body."

"What do you mean deal with it?" Elena asks angrily. "The sheriff can't know about this. The last thing we need is another mysterious death."

"This is Bonnie!" The doppelgänger yells. Damon looks at Stefan. "Get them home. Now."

Stefan begins to comply, picking his girlfriend off the floor and going to get Violet, but she doesn't move from her spot. Her hand is still tightly holding onto Bonnie's and she's completely silent, making the others worry.

"Violet, hey, Violet we need to go." Stefan says softly, shaking her shoulder gently. If they weren't paying attention, they would've missed the small shake of her head as the tears continue to flow. Her broken expression only makes the two vampires in the room feel worse.

Damon goes and gently pries Violets hand away, pushing her body towards Stefan who carefully lifts the small girl, watching as she latches onto Elena, the two holding onto each other for dear life as they're lead out of the room.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Elena and Violet sat on the couch, their hands clasped tightly together as Elena cries and Violet stares blankly at the fireplace.

Stefan enters, two mugs in his hands and a crestfallen expression on his face. "Hey. Here drink this." He says, holding out the cups. Violet doesn't move a muscle but Elena shakes her head. "I can't."

"Yeah, yeah you can. Drink this." The vampire tells her softly. She finally takes it while Stefan places the drink meant for Violet on the table. Elena goes to take a drink but stops as she's engulfed into another round of tears. "This is my fault."

"No, hey, listen to me. This was Klaus. Klaus did this."

The door opens and in comes Damon. Elena stands with a sudden anger. "What do you do with her?!"

"Will you please calm her down?" Damon asks his brother. "Don't talk like I'm not standing right in front of you!"

"Will you please calm down?" Damon asks her, though his tone is still soft and gentle.

"You knew didn't you? You knew that if she harnessed all that power that she would die, didn't you?" She cried.

"Yes," Damon said sharply. "Yes, I knew."

All of a sudden, Elena's hand flew, landing a loud slap across Damon's cheek that sounded throughout the house. "You need to listen to me, and prepare for what I'm about to say." His gaze softened as his eyes landed on an emotionless Violet. "Both of you." This caused the blonde to slowly look up and put her attention on the older vampire.

"Bonnie had to die." He began. "Klaus using Alaric's body was a total surprise, she wasn't prepared for that. And he wasn't going to stop, and we weren't gonna be able to stop him until he knew she was dead. He had to believe it." Elena and Violet looked at each other with hopeful eyes.

"She cast a spell," Tears, now of joy began to flow down the girls faces. "Bonnie's ok."

That night, Violet slept in one of the spare rooms of the boarding house. She was lucky Stefan has volunteered to go and compel her parents to be okay with her not coming home. It had taken her a while to fall asleep, due to still being shaken up over what had happened earlier in the night. But after what seemed like hours of staring tiredly at the ceiling, Violet was finally pulled into a dream.

"Are you almost done, Nik?" Violet recognized her own voice say as she lay in bed, posing just as the man in front of her had told her to. She lay with the sheets tangled between her limbs, only dressed in an oversized shirt and her undergarments.

The blonde man in front of her looked over his canvas and gave her a sweet smile.

"You can't rush creativity, my little flower."

Violet rolled her eyes, but smiled at him. "You've been at this for two hours now. It surely couldn't take you this long."

"It would take me years to paint anything that would do your beauty justice. Be patient, I'm almost finished." He blue eyed man told her. Moments of comfortable silence passed between the two before he finally put the paint brush down and looked at his masterpiece, satisfied.

"Have you finished?" The only reply Violet received was a nod and she excitedly jumped up from the bed. When her eyes landed on the canvas, she gasped. The painting was of the her, in the pose she was just previously in. But it was the attention to every little detail, every curve of her body, every strand of hair, it was absolutely perfect.

"Nik...this-this is amazing." She whispered. Violet turned and threw her arms around the much taller man, his arms sliding around her waist immediately. "I love it so much. Thank you." He only hummed as they stood like that, in each other's embrace for several moments.

"Nik?" He made a noise as if saying 'Yes?' "I love you. More than anything in this world."

"I love you more. My little flower."

Violet shot up in her bed, looking around, confused and a bit disappointed. Thousands of thoughts were running through her mind, all concerning that dream that had just occurred. But one question stuck out more than the others.

Who the hell was Nik?
