VIOLET STARED IN FEAR at Rose as the vampire yelled at Elena, veins protruding from the skin under her eyes and fangs on display.
"You Katerina, you did this!" The woman spat as Elena repeatedly told her that she wasn't Katherine.
"I'm not Katherine!"
Violet sighed in relief when she saw Rose's face return to it natural state. "Elena?" Rose questioned quietly. The brunette nodded with a shaky breath. Rose began to back away slowly with a look of regret in her eyes.
"Oh my god Elena, I'm so sorry." Rose apologized, her voice thick with emotion. "I don't know what's happening to me."
"It's alright," Violet spoke. "You're going to be alright." She reassured the Vampire. The two girls led her gently back to the bed. Rose continued to talk, "My mind, I'm-"
"It was just for a second." Elena stated. "I'm sorry. Don't be scared of me." Pleaded Rose.
"I'm not, I'm not."
"But, you need to rest." Violet said as if she were speaking to a child. "I'm scared." The woman muttered.
"You're not alone. We're right here." The sentence seemed to startled Rose as she began to sit up and look around frantically. "Here, where's here?"
Elena was quick to reach out and softly touch Rose's arm. "Damon's bedroom. You're in Damon's bedroom."
The room was silent for a moment before Rose began to breath heavily and her eyes began to water. "I want to go home." She whimpered.
Elena and Violet looked at her sadly. "Tell us about it." Violet said.
"St. Austell." Rose told them quietly. "30 kilometers south of London. With fields and trees and horses." I faint smile appeared on the woman's face, satisfying the two other girls.
"Sounds beautiful." Whispered Elena.
"When you live long enough, everything disappears," She said. "So much time wasted. I just wish I hadn't been so afraid." Rose shuffled in her spot, trying to find a comfortable position.
The brunette and the blonde glanced at each other, both looking upset as they knew that fate that their friend held.
━
"We brought some clean sheets." Elena stated as her a Violet entered Damon's room. "And a blanket." Violet added.
When there was no response the two looked up to see the bed once again empty. "Shit." Violet breathed. Elena sent her a small glare but decided not to scold her for her language and walked over to peak into the bathroom, only to find that it was also empty.
"We have to go look for her." Elena demanded. The smaller girl reluctantly nodded and the left the room, going separate ways to search for Rose.
Violet walked down the hallway cautiously but stopped in her tracks when she heard some clattering form somewhere in the house.
"Rose?" She heard Elena call out.
The two met back up and made there way to the basement, both of them taking slow, cautious steps.
Elena looked around and Violet crouched to the ground, picking up a blood bag that was completely drained of the metallic tasting liquid. She looked at the brunette next to her with wide eyes.
The girls kept walking, and when they finally laid eyes on Rose, the sight left then speechless.
"Oh, my god." Violet breathed.
In front of them, was Rose sat on the ground, slurping blood from one of the small plastic bags and numerous more empty ones around her.
At the sound of their footsteps, Rose turned. When her eyes landed on Elena her she glared at her with a murderous look in her eyes.
They began to back away when Rose hissed, " Katerina."
And they ran like hell, as Katherine Pierce would say.
Elena knocked over an old door, blocking the Vampire for only a second until she broke through.
"Rose, stop, stop, Its Elena." The brunette said, her arms in front of her reaching out in attempt to keep Rose back. "I'm not Katherine, you're hallucinating."
"She's not Katherine." Repeated Violet, hoping that a second person telling her would help.
This only seemed to work for a second before Rose growled and went to attack them again. She managed to pin Elena to the ground when Violet thought quick and pulled the curtain open, the rays hitting Rose and sending her rolling in pain.
Violet quickly helped Elena from the ground and they began to run again. But as Violet was attempting to open the front door, Rose appeared and bared her fangs to the blonde girl. Without thinking, Violet lifted her arm and dug her fingertips into Rose's wound. The woman dropped to her knees and yelled out in pain once again, giving the girls an opportunity to escape.
They entered Stefan's room and locking it, pushing a chest of drawers in front of the door.
Violet was quick to run and pull the curtains, opening up the doors that lead to the balcony as Elena snapped off legs to the desk chair.
They both held the sharp pieces of wood in their hands, pointing them towards the door.
"Elena? Violet? Elena I know it's your and not Katherine." Rose informed them, coughing and gagging a second later.
Elena and Violet looked at each other, fear swirling in both of their eyes.
"Elena? Please I need your help!"
━
The two girls sat in the room, leaning against the dresser for what felt like days but was only a mere two hours.
"Do you think she's gone?" Questioned Violet. Elena shrugged while looking towards the door. "Only one way to find out." The brunette mumbled as she stood up. The small girl followed and aided her friend in moving the furniture away from the door.
Opening the door, they took cautious steps, the broken chair legs gripped tightly in their hands. Violet looked around the living room and turned when she heard Elena gasp.
The door was wide open, the cool night air flowing in. Hearing a movement behind them, they both turned and gasped at the sight of a confused Damon in front of them.
"You okay?" He asked, his bright blue eyes flickering between the teenagers.
"Where's Rose?" Damon looked around, suddenly realizing that why the girls looked so afraid.
Elena shook her head and Violet frustratedly ran and hand through her hair. "We don't know." Elena replied.
━
Damon, Elena and Violet all rushed to the school, seeing as there was an event going on, they would need to catch Rose before she did any major damage. Damon did attempt to convince them to stay at the house or go home, but this was too important for either of the girls to agree.
Violet stood next to Elena, tapping her foot anxiously as Elena left Stefan a voicemail and Damon talked to Sheriff Forbes.
"Hey," Greeted Elena when Damon reached them. "Have you heard from him? Do you know what he's up to?" The brunette questioned, referring to her boyfriend who was currently MIA.
"Baby brothers not exactly my priority right now." Damon stated, reaching into his back pocket. "Take these." He ordered, handing them each a small wooden stake. "Come one, lets go."
The three roamed around for a bit before a high pitches scream was heard. They ran quickly to the source of the sound, Damon yelling at Rose, who was feasting on the neck of a blonde girl.
Rose lunged onto Damon but he swiftly pinned her down, telling her repeatedly who he was just like Elena did earlier in the day.
The older vampire tilted her head to look at the two dead humans. "Did I do this?" She asked, alarmed.
When she got no response the woman let out a sob. "I didn't mean to hurt anybody. I never wanted to hurt anybody." She insisted with tears rolling down her face.
Damon whispered some comforting words to her but she looked towards where Violet and Elena were standing.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"
"Come on, let's get you home." Damon said, going to help her up but Rose just sunk back down.
"No, I don't have a home. I haven't had a home in so long." She sobbed. Violet brought a hand to her mouth in attempt to keep herself from crying as well. Elena pulled her friend in close, knowing how sensitive she was to other people's emotions.
Elena's grip on Violet tightened when Rose continuously begged for Damon to make the pain stop, her sobs echoing through the small parking lot.
Once they had finally gotten Rose into the boarding house, Elena went in to check on Damon and Rose, Violet staying outside to calm herself down.
Normally she wouldn't be so affected, but this time it was taking everything in her to keep herself from breaking down.
Because although Violet did have a mother and a father and a home, it never felt like she did. For the longest time her house just felt like a place to stay until she finally found somewhere or someone that made her truly happy. The physical and mental scars caused by her father would haunt her for the rest of her life. She wished her mother would open her eyes and see what was going on instead of just scolding Violet for being so clumsy and telling her that she should be more like Elena or Caroline or Bonnie.
Home would never truly feel like home for Violet.

From: Caroline
'Do you mind hanging out today? There's a lot going on and I need a friend'
Violet stared at her phone for a few moments, mentally debating on whether she felt like getting up or not. With everything going on, she just felt exhausted in every sense. Going out and relaxing with a friend seemed impossible but at the moment, she didn't really know if she wanted to.
But when Violet glanced out her window to see her dads truck pulling in after going god knows where, she decided that it would be best to leave the house.
Throwing on a random outfit, Violet waited in her room until she heard Caroline honk her car horn and made her way down the stairs and out the door.
As Caroline explained what all had happened in the last few hours, Violet let her mind wander.
Caroline and Violet met sometime around first grade but at this point it seemed like all their lives. Despite Caroline being outgoing and friendly while Violet was shy and didn't have many friends at the time, the two girls almost instantly became friends. Caroline always liked to say that they were such good friends because of their differences. If they had too much in common then their friendship would get boring, Violet remembered her friend saying.
Although she hadn't knows Caroline as long as Elena, she knew that they would always have a special bond because behind that perfect, Barbie exterior, was an insecure girl who just wanted to be good enough for everyone. And Violet knew exactly how that felt.
The two blonde girls journeyed through Mystic Falls, shopping for hours and then stopping by the Grill for some food, hanging out like normal teenagers would. They both enjoyed the day while it lasted because they knew that once the day was over, things would be chaotic as usual.
Because after all, Caroline was a vampire and so were Stefan and Damon. Bonnie was a witch, Tyler a werewolf, and Elena a doppelgänger. Besides Matt, she was the only normal human left in their group of friends and as much as she hated being dragged into everything, these people were her family and she would do anything for them.
Violet and Caroline were walking towards the taller blondes car, laughing about something random when a figure approached them. It only took them a second to realize it was Matt. "Hey guys."
When Violet made a move to greet their friend, Caroline only pulled her towards the car. Matt repeated himself and it was only then that Caroline spun around to look at him. "Hey." Her voice came out soft and gentle but also hesitant, like she didn't necessarily want to talk to him.
Matt jogged over to them. "Hey V." Violet sent him a smile and a wave back. "I haven't seen you." He said to Caroline, and Violet took that as her cue to wait in the car. Though neither Caroline nor Matt seemed to notice their friend walking away, both too distracted by each other.
Violet couldn't really hear what the two were saying in the short period of time they were talking, but she guessed (or more hoped) that they were easing the tension they had, had for the last few days.
It wasn't until Caroline made her way to the car did she look up from her phone, but was confused when her friend stopped herself from opening the door.
"Hey Caroline, right?" Violet heard a feminine voice ask. She didn't recognize it which only made her more suspicious.
Carolines response was faint due to her quiet tone and the fact that she was outside the car, but she could make out a weary, "Yeah."
"I'm looking for Tyler. You haven't seen him have you?" The question was innocent but the woman's tone seemed mocking, almost like she already knew the answer. "No. Not since earlier." Caroline replied. "Sorry."
She finally opened the door and now Violet could here the woman clear as day. "I know your lying."
Caroline placed her bag down in the drivers seat and spun to look at her again. "Really? How? Is that one of your little wolf tricks?" She questioned teasingly, a small smirk on her face.
"Actually it is." The woman nodded.
Caroline made a face and turned around once again. "Well," She closed the door after giving Violet a look as if to say 'Stay put.' "I have a trick to."
The teenage girl swiftly turned and bared her fangs at the other woman, her face faltering when she was squirted in the face with what Violet guessed vervain. Without thinking, Violet jumped out of the car, the only thing on her mind being to try and save her friend.
When the woman spotted Violet coming towards them, she sent a blow to the girls face knocking her to the ground.
The last thing Violet heard was a gunshot, before her head hit he pavement and everything went black.

Kind of a shorter chapter compared to the last one but I felt like I needed to end it there to be more dramatic. Just announcing it now, I have some plans for the next chapter and if I'm lucky, I'll either update tomorrow or maybe even later tonight if I can. Please vote, comment and share s that more people can read. Love you all!
