Chapter 24: Summoned to Pyrrhia

I woke up in the endless expanse of the void, a place that was neither here nor there, where time seemed to stretch and collapse all at once. The air shimmered with an otherworldly energy, an eternal twilight tinged with swirling gold and black.

Ahead of me, four figures stood together, their presence commanding yet familiar. Ra, radiant as the sun itself, his form glowing with divine brilliance, was speaking calmly with Anubis, who shifted easily between his sleek jackal form and his tall, regal humanoid figure. Seth loomed nearby, his energy chaotic yet restrained, a storm contained in a vessel of sharp edges and dark hues. Beside him stood Bast, her feline grace undeniable, her emerald eyes gleaming like twin jewels in the void's half-light.

"Ah, hello," I said smoothly, stepping forward as I swept my wings behind me in a graceful arc. Their feathers shimmered faintly, catching the light of the void like molten gold in motion.

Ra turned to me first, his radiant face breaking into a warm smile, the kind that could soothe even the most frayed of nerves. Anubis followed, his expression softening as he caught sight of me, and without hesitation, he bounded forward in his dog form, his tail wagging with uncharacteristic excitement.

"You're back," he purred, his voice a deep rumble even in this form, his sleek black fur catching the faint glow of the void.

I knelt slightly as he approached, my hand brushing over his ears with a familiarity that had grown over lifetimes. "Of course I am," I said with a soft laugh, "as if I could stay away from all of you for too long."

Ra chuckled lightly, the sound like a sunbeam breaking through the clouds. "The void always seems brighter when you return, Nyx."

Bast tilted her head, her sharp grin revealing a flash of teeth. "Let's see how long you stay this time, winged one," she teased, though there was warmth in her gaze.

Seth merely crossed his arms, smirking as he looked me over. "Back already? Either the mortal world couldn't handle you, or you couldn't handle it."

I gave him a knowing smirk, my wings folding neatly behind me as I rose to my full height. "Oh, Seth, you know me. I never leave anywhere until I've left my mark."

The void pulsed faintly, as if acknowledging my presence, and for a moment, the entire expanse seemed to breathe with life. I had returned, and with me came the promise of stories yet to unfold.

Ra stepped forward, his light radiant and steady, and gently took my claws in his. His touch was warm, like the first rays of dawn breaking over a slumbering world. His golden eyes met mine, filled with both wisdom and a touch of mischief, as if he already knew how I would react to what he was about to say.

"You're going to the world of dragons again," he said, his voice resonating with the authority of the sun itself. "Wings of Fire, or Pyrrhia, as this place is called."

My grin spread wide, excitement bubbling up like a geyser ready to burst. "More dragons?" I said, my wings quivering with anticipation. "Yay!"

Ra chuckled softly, his divine calm unshaken by my outburst. "I thought you might enjoy that," he said, his tone tinged with amusement.

Behind him, Bast snickered, flicking her tail lazily. "She's practically giddy already," she remarked, her sharp grin matching the humor in her tone.

Anubis tilted his head, still seated at my feet in his dog form. "Careful, Nyx. Dragons can be tricky creatures," he warned, though his wagging tail betrayed that he knew full well I was undeterred.

Seth scoffed, his arms crossed as he leaned against the shimmering void's edge. "More dragons, more chaos. Perfect for you."

I turned to Ra, unable to suppress the glimmer of eagerness in my golden eyes. "When do I leave?"

Ra's smile grew softer, his hand still resting lightly over mine. "The moment you're ready," he said. "Pyrrhia awaits your touch, and its dragons are in need of someone like you."

I took a deep breath, already envisioning the world of wings, fire, and scale. A place of storms and alliances, of danger and wonder. Another world to explore, another adventure waiting to unfold.

"Well, then," I said with a flick of my tail feathers, my grin returning in full force. "What are we waiting for?"
