"This was it. It was our chance at getting the last piece of the black hole generator and all we had to do was get it before the Triceratons do."
EVERYONE WAS BORED out of their minds, waiting for the warp jump to end and finally deliver them to their destination. "Are we there yet?" Derek questioned with an annoyed groan leaving his lips.
"For the last time, no!" Mara snapped. "Now, shut it!"
"...are we there yet?"
Raphael growled as he grabbed his sais. "Alright, that's it! Come here, you littleโ"
"Enough you three," Henry said firmly, not even bothering to turn around or lift his head from resting on the back of his seat at his station. "Derek, shut up before I kick your ass myself."
"Man, it's a long way to the Z-Z-3-Plural-X-Beta-System," Donatello said. "Even warping is taking forever."
Leonardo rubbed the sleep from his eyes after almost nodding off. "Yeah, I'd say the far edge of the known universe is a long way."
"The planet itself is Magdomar, which translates to the Planet of Ever-Burning Fire," Fugitoid explained with a beep.
"Oh, man," Michelangelo groaned. "Couldn't we just go to the planet of Comfy Pillows and Endless Free Pizza?" He whined.
"Yeah, can we?" Scott questioned. "Cause I'm tired of space already."
"It's also the home of Tokka, one of the Six Great Cosmic Monsters of the universe," Fugitoid added, bringing up an image of Tokka on the main screen. "It's an ancient Vorkathian Fire Beast, and it's protecting the final fragment of the black hole generator with its life."
"If we could keep from losing it, we might pull this off." Casey said.
The ship soon slowed, finally coming out of the warp and stopping before a purple planet. "Now approaching Magdomar," the robot responded. "The Triceraton fleet must be near. We must avoid them at all cost."
"I see them!" April called from her station, bringing up an image on the screen. "On the other side of the planet. Closing in."
"They're launching Raptors," Donatello said quickly, recognizing the ships headed for the planet's surface.
"They're gonna find the black hole thingy before us!" Michelangelo gasped.
"It's not a thingy!" Raphael tried to correct him. "It'sโ never mind. Let's do this. It's our last chance!"
"Full speed ahead, Fugitoid!"
"Booyakasha!" The robot shouted, sending the ship toward the planet. It didn't take long to hit Magdomar's surface, though Fugitoid wove the ship through bubbles of lava that burst around them.
"Whoa. Whoa! Fire burps, dudes, dudettes!" Michelangelo called.
"Actually, this is the mild, calm part of the planet." Fugitoid responded while the ship passed the lava bubbles and approached a circle of jagged rocks. "That's where the Utrom said the fragment resides."
"Then, let's hurry up and grab it!" Mara said, as the piece came into view. "There it is."
Fugitoid got the ship hovering over the fragment and turned on the tractor beam. It started to pull the loose rocks on the ground, but the generator fragment refused to budge free from its spot.
"What's the hold up?" Natalie asked.
"It's stuck," Briana responded. "It's probably a manual op."
"We're gonna need a clear landing spot," Henry said, studying the map on the screen. "How about over there?" He pointed to a nearby location on the map.
"So, where's this Tokka creature, Professor?" Zane questioned.
"Somewhere close by, but if we act quickly, weโ" Fugitoid cut off as something hit the ship, making a few of them scream as some fell to the floor, the others managing to keep their balance.
"Great, who the hell is shooting at us now?" Kaz asked.
"I did!" Dregg's image appeared on screen. "Lord Dregg, you idiotic Terrans."
Derek couldn't help but groaned in annoyance. "Again? Seriously?! Dude, get a life!"
"Did you think that you can escape my wrath?" Dregg hissed, bringing his ship in front of the Ulixes. "You destroyed my Scorpinoid! He was my favorite pet. I loved him."
Natalie snorted. "Who knew the dude could love."
"Now prepare to meet a horrifying and depressing end."
"I'm always prepared for that," Fugitoid sighed. "When all you have left is a humanoid brain, you tend to getโ"
"Evasive action!" Leonardo shouted.
The ship swerved out of the way of Dregg's lasers, but he kept chasing them. "You jerks!"
"How are we the jerks if he's the one that keeps trying to kill us?" Mara questioned with a scoff.
"Shields are weakening!" Eclipse called as the ship was hit.
"I think we're in a teensy, tiny spot of trouble," Fugitoid said. "Just a teensy spot, not to worry."
"Taking a lot of damage!" Donatello shouted as the ship maneuvered past a rock formation, trying to out-fly Dregg.
"It's hatching eggs again!" Scott warned. "...okay that's gross. But we got robots coming in fast!"
"I got this!" Casey said, typing into his console. He started up the weapons and fired at the drones, taking out a few. "Yes! Whoo!"
The ship's engine started to splutter as April typed into the console. "Power converters are failing. We're going down!"
"Diverting power to thrusters!" Fugitoid called.
"Casey, Kaz, we got to hit them simultaneously, right on the ship's bug head!" Raphael said. "One, two..."
"Three!" The three of them fired the ship's lasers, hitting Dregg's ship and causing it to spiral out of control away from their ship.
They cheered, only to start screaming as they hit a stalagmite and crash onto the rocks. They quickly suited up and headed out.
"I will repair the converters while you find the final piece of the black hole generator," Fugitoid said. "Head north. Good luck, my friends. Stay cool." He laughed. "You get it? I made a funny."
Raphael, Casey, and Kaz groaned at him before following after the others. They made their way across the rock, jumping over the lava using a few floating rocks as platforms. The ground started shaking, knocking them off balance.
"Look out!"
A bubble of red lava suddenly burst and they all ran to avoid getting covered by the lava.
"The whole planet's out to get us!" Michelangelo shouted as two more bubbles bursted nearby.
They dashed across a stone bridge, but April tripped on one of the loose rocks, gasping as she fell onto the stone.
"April!" Mara shouted, kneeling beside her and helping her back onto her feet.
"Look out!" Zane shouted.
The lava was bursting behind the two and the bridge was started to crumble. April grabbed Mara's wrist and took off running as the bridge collapsed behind them. They lost their footing as the collapse caught up to them and April managed to grab the edge of the platform, Mara hanging on to her. Henry grabbed April's wrist before she could fall, pulling the two of them up onto the rock.
"Phew," Michelangelo sighed. "That was way too close."
Dregg's ship suddenly swept past, snatching Michelangelo up.
"MIKEY!"
Natalie pulled out her gun. "I got him!" She started shooting at the ship before running after the others as they gave chase.
Ahead of them, Dregg's ship stopped over a pool of lava. The pincers opened, releasing Michelangelo and sending him plummeting toward the lava pool, screaming. Luckily, April managed to use her powers to catch him and lower him onto the rock with them.
Dregg's frustrated scream caught their attention and everyone spun around to see that Dregg had flown out of his ship. He slammed into Donatello, knocking him back into a rock. He laughed and flew up, shooing rockets at them.
April brought her hands to her helmet, catching some of the rockets with her telekinesis. She threw out her hands, shooting the rockets back at the bug. "Back at you, Dregg!"
The rockets collied with Dregg, sending him slamming into a stray jutting rock before falling back to the ground. He got back up, noticing his wing had bent before back at them, noticing that they had their weapons drawn.
"Why won't you just let me end your pitiful lives?" Dregg demanded.
"You know, I ask myself the same question about you sometimes." Derek told him honestly.
The ground started shaking beneath them and they struggled to keep their balance. Dregg took advantage of the distraction, sending one of his spider hands at Natalie.
"Spider hand!" Michelangelo shouted, shoving Natalie out of the way. He was wrapped in the spider's string and dragged toward Dregg.
Another earthquake made the ground beneath Dregg's feet shake, sending him falling toward the lava and taking the orange masked mutant turtle with him. Eclipse sliced the spider hand with her kamas as it released Michelangelo and the spider hand joined Dregg in the lava pit.
"Finally!" Kaz said. "Dregg's harder to squish than a cockroach."
"We better haul shell before the Triceratons find us," Leonardo said quickly, only for the ground to start shaking again.
"Whoa, excuse me, dudes," Michelangelo said, patting his chest. "Had a little gas."
Donatello took a step forward, looking around at the lava falls exploding around them. "These earthquakes are being caused by an unstable magmaโ!" He was cut off as yet another earthquake struck, this one quite a bit bigger than the last.
Most of the group was knocked off their feet while both Briana and Raphael slipped off the ledge and fell, screaming.
"RAPH! BRIANA!"
The two of them continued to fall and plummet toward the lava before the two quickly pulled out their weapons and drove it into the wall, causing them to slide to a halt, inches away from the lava. The two gave a small sigh of relief before they started to climb back up.
"Raph, Bri, are you okay?" Eclipse called.
"Yeah, we're alright!" Both Raphael and Briana pulled themselves onto a small ridge and spotted an odd light round object. "Is that an egg?"
Once the two of them were fully on the ridge, Briana carefully picked up the egg in her hands to get a closer look at it. She tapped the egg lightly, only for the egg to shake slightly before it cracked, and the creature inside hatched out. It was a tiny hand-sized dark red turtle-like creature with red eyes. The baby alien turtle looked at Briana and then at Raphael, letting out a cute alien-call to them.
"Aww, he's so cute!" Briana gushed, a soft smile on her face.
"Awe, some kind of alien-turtle," Raphael said as Briana helped the baby turtle onto its feet in her hands. "Where's your mama, little guy?" Briana bent down and set the baby turtle down on the ground. "Okay, now go find your nest." The baby alien-turtle took its first steps as it walked closer towards the edge, but Briana yelped and pulled him away.
"You can't go that way, little guy," Briana said, holding the baby turtle in her hands as she stood up. The baby alien-turtle looked up at the two of them and wagged his tail. "Better stay with Aunt Briana and Uncle Raph for now." She let the baby turtle climb onto her shoulder.
Then, both Briana and Raphael finished climbing the rest of way back up and met up with everyone else. "Hey, guys, look!" The adorable, baby alien-turtle gave its cute call as everyone else looked in surprise.
"A baby turtle?" Casey asked. "What'd you do, lay an egg down there?"
"Not a good time to adopt an alien pet, guys." Henry said.
"Aw, look!" Michelangelo cooed, taking the baby turtle from Briana. "He's almost as cute as me."
"Hey!" Raphael quickly took the turtle back. "I found him first!" Raphael held out a finger to the baby turtle, the tiny alien sniffing it before biting down on it. "Youch!" He quickly took his hand away. "Hmm... how about we call you... Chompy Picasso."
"What you guys need to do is find out who his mom is and give him back." April said.
"Forget it!" Leonardo said quickly. "We're on a mission to save earth, not alien turtles."
Henry's ears pricked at the sound of engines and he turned to see Raptor ships heading their way. "Take cover!"
Everyone quickly ran to hide among the rocks. They watched as the ships landed and Triceratons stepped out. One pulled out some sort of telescope, looking through it. "Captain Mozar, I've located the black hole weapon fragment. Dregg made good on his intel."
Mozar teleported beside the Triceraton, snatching the telescope and looking through it. "There it is. The final piece of the heart of darkness. The Emperor will reward me gloriously."
"Oh, no, they found it." Donatello whispered.
Chompy let out a loud cry and everyone quickly ducked out of sight.
The sound caught Mozar's attention. "What is that?" The Triceratons started shooting at the rock they hid behind.
"Oh, snap," Michelangelo said. "Let's make a break for it, homies!" He dove forward onto the rock. The rest of them grabbed their guns and ran out of cover, shooting at the Triceratons.
"Retreat! Retreat!" Leonardo called as the Triceratons started focusing their fire on them.
"Later, Dino dudes!" Michelangelo threw down a smoke bomb, giving them cover to escape. They managed to get ahead of the Triceratons, and soon they were at the fragment.
"Fugitoid, we found the fragment," Leonardo called over his comm. "We'll have it loose in no time. We need a pick-up now!"
"Oh, dear," Fugitoid mumbled. "I haven't got the ship's power back online yet."
Mara scoffed. "What are we gonna do, carry it?"
Chompy chortled, gaining Raphael's attention. "Hey, little guy, if Bri and I knew how to find your mama, we'dโ"
There was a roar and the ground started to move. The stone tilted back, knocking everyone off their feet and sending them sliding down and right off the edge. Raphael grabbed one of the rock slides, everyone grabbing onto each other and making a chain.
"Uh, I think we found Tokka." Eclipse said.
Raphael started to lose his grip. "Slipping... too much... weight!" His hands slid away from the spike, sending everyone plummeting toward the lava. The lava shifted away before they could hit it, sending them crashing onto a rock platform instead.
"Aw, shell..." Casey said, noticing the size of Tokka.
"The fragment's still stuck on Tokka's shell!" Scott yelled.
"And the Triceratons have its attention now." Zane added.
The ground shook as Tokka moved back, her hand hitting against a rock spike. The top broke off and came crashing down toward the group, who darted out of the way of the fragments.
"April, Casey, Kaz, Mara, Zane, Natalie, Derek, Scott, get behind some cover." Donatello said as they ducked behind some rocks.
"Fugitoid, we're going to try and grab the fragment, so get the tractor beams ready." Leonardo said.
"I'll be finished in two shakes of a dongle."
"So, what do we do?" Briana asked.
"The only way to get that thing is to climb Tokka." Michelangelo pointed out.
"That's the plan, Mikey." Henry said.
"It is?"
Raphael picked up Chompy. "Keep Chompy safe," he said, gently placing the small turtle in April's hands. "You'll be okay with April, little buddy."
Then, the five mutant turtles, Henry, and Briana ran off after the final piece of the black hole generator. They ran through the Triceratons' fire, using their grappling hooks to swing onto Tokka's shell and land on the spikes near the fragment.
"How are we gonna get that thing?" Michelangelo exclaimed.
Chompy was crawling all over April and she was trying to get him to calm down. "Hey, hey, take it easy, little guy," she held onto the baby alien turtle that seemed incredible excited.
"Poor guy's probably freaked out cause of the giant monster." Mara guessed, but it didn't seem to be true as Chompy gave an excited call and in return, Tokka gave out a roar.
Kaz felt his eyes widened in realization. "Chompy's not afraid of Tokka. I'm pretty sure we just found his mother!"
"Tokka's a mom!?" Raphael, Leonardo, Henry, and Eclipse exclaimed, surprised.
Michelangelo gushed. "Aww, that's adorable!"
Their friends felt their eyes widened when Tokka's face closed in behind, giving a loud roar and demanding the return of her baby.
April didn't hesitant to approach Tokka, setting Chompy on her jaw before backing away with her hands up. "No charge for babysitting."
Pleased, Tokka straightened and roared as the Triceratons fired at her, spewing lava toward the Raptor ships that had joined the fight. One of the ships got too close and Tokka reached out and snapped her jaws down around it, exploding it. The other two ships shot at her neck, earning a roar, and Chompy fell from his perch.
"Chompy!" Briana dove off from the ledge she was on and caught the baby alien turtle in time. "Gotcha!" She activated her grappler to catch herself back onto Tokka's to catch herself back onto Tokka's massive shell.
Briana was able to get a solid landing on a stable ledge and placed Chompy in a crevice deep in Tokka's shell and away from the battle. "You'll be safe here, Chompy. Stay with your mama." Chompy sat down. "Good boy." She turned and climbed back up to join the others.
"We're almost there, team," Leonardo called as they made it to the piece. They started pushing to try and get it loose. "Push! Give it everything you got." Slowly, the piece started to shift, before coming loose and falling away toward the lava below.
"Oh, no!" Michelangelo gasped. "The thingy piece!"
Luckily, the Ulixes showed up in time to catch the fragment in its tractor beam. "I've got it in my tractor beam." Fugitoid called over the comms, pulling it toward the ship. "Pulling it in now. Too bad the lava isn't hot enough to destroy it, but we willโ" he gasped as Dregg's ship snatched the piece from the tractor beam.
Dregg laughed as he flew his ship away. "So long, suckers."
"Are you kidding me!?" Eclipse snapped.
"No!" Raphael shouted. "We had it!"
Everyone was caught in the Ulixes' tractor beam and brought up into the ship as Fugitoid gave chase after Dregg. They all quickly abandoned their spacesuits and ran onto the bridge, getting into their stations.
"Welcome back," Fugitoid greeted them. "Apologizes for losing the fragment."
"Just stay on Dregg," Leonardo responded. "Don't let him escape."
"Uh, guys?" Kaz called. "Is she coming after us or Dregg?" He pointed at the screen that shows Tokka right behind them.
"She can fly!?" Derek exclaimed.
"She's gonna ram our ship!" Natalie shouted.
Tokka flew right past them, causing the ship to spin before it was able to level itself out. They all groaned, having been tossed around the ship, and all started pushing themselves back up.
Casey sighed. "She's still after Dregg."
Leonardo's eyes widened. "Oh, no. Dregg's heading for Mozar's destroyer!"
Dregg's ship docked at the Triceratons mothership, climbing up it. Donatello looked down at his console as it started beeping. "Um, guys? The Triceratons are firing rockets straight into that dwarf star."
"Surely they would not be so foolish as to trigger the destruction of that dying starโ" Fugitoid started stammering. "What am I saying? Of course they would!"
The rockets collied with the star and the mothership vanished before it was caught in the blast. Everyone screamed, covering their eyes, the explosion blinding. Fugitoid put the ship into warp, getting them away from the blast as quickly as possible. The ship slowed until they were drifting through space.
"Chompy was with her," Raphael sighed. "And now..."
"Now, he's gone." Briana finished for him.
"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that," Mara said with a smirk. "I think someone hitched a ride with you."
As if it was on cue, Chompy jumped up onto Briana's shoulder and gave a cute baby-call.
"CHOMPY!"
Briana quickly picked up the baby alien-turtle. "Chompy! Aw, little guy! You're okay." She blinked. "Butโ but what about Tokka? She was just trying to protect the fragment and... Chompy."
"What about Earth?" Leonardo asked.
"We still have time," Henry said. "We can still get the device back."
Fugitoid nodded. "Setting a course for the Milky Way Galaxy."
"Guys?" Eclipse said. "Someone's trying to hack into our monitors."
"I swear, if it's Dregg again..." Derek started with an eye roll.
Mozar appeared on the screen. "Terrans, observe." He moved back enough for them to see the fully-built black hole generator. "The black hole generator is complete. We are soon to test it on a planet you know all too well. A planet called Earth."
"Even though we couldn't get the last piece of the black hole generator in time, we still had time to save Earth. All we had to do was take another stand against the Triceratons."
