So, just a reminder here: for those that are Raph x Mona Lisa shippers, I'm sorry but I'm not one of them so, this is where that ship comes to an end because I'm taking a different route with them. So, from here on out, there is no more Raph x Mona Lisa.
The whole Raph x Mona ship just makes no sense to them. Like, how does that even work when one of them lives in New York and the other one lives in FREAKING OUTER SPACE? Am I supposed to believe that they've been a couple that whole time? I call CAP.
Enjoy!
"Getting your heart broken by someone that you care about totally sucks and it strings. To some people, the heartbreak hardens them or to others, it makes them stronger."
"STATUS, EVERYONE?" THE blue masked mutant turtle asked, everyone standing in the newly repaired Ulixes.
"The Tachyon Drive is repaired," Donatello responded, typing into a console. "We are fully fueled and functional. Yeah, boy!"
"Dudes, dudettes, I have important news," Michelangelo called as he entered the room and the ship left the repair station it had docked at. "The holo-simulator is repaired, Mikey's Pepperoni Pizzaland Theme Park simulation is complete."
Raphael rolled his eyes as he walked by. "If you built it, I don't want to see it." Michelangelo blew raspberries at him.
"Hello, we've got way more important things to worry about right now, Mikey." Leonardo said.
"My friends, I know this journey has been arduous, but there is still a chance," Fugitoid started. "If we can destroy the last piece of the black hole generator, at least we can slow the Triceratons down."
An alarm started going off. "Incoming distress signal?" April called. "For us?"
On the screen appeared a familiar Salamandrian. "Mona Lisa?" Raphael questioned.
"Oh, joy..." Derek said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"Brave Raphael, we were attacked," Mona began to explain. "Commander G'Throkka has been captured. I need your help."
"Captured?" Kaz questioned. "By who?"
"A vile bounty hunter called Armaggon." She pulled up his mugshot and gasps went around the bridge at the news.
Both Mara and Casey, on the other hand, seemed excited. "Yes!"
"Uh, wasn't he eaten by that giant beast in Varuna?" Natalie questioned. "How is he still alive?"
"He probably escaped somehow," Zane said. "And if he's alive, I bet Dregg is too."
Fugitoid stopped the ship so the female Salamandrian could track them down and dock. Michelangelo had been teasing his brother the whole until the red masked mutant turtle shoved him away.
The bridge door opening caught his attention. "Mona!"
Mona stepped into the bridge. "Raphael." She walked toward him and he met her halfway. They lifted their hands, interlocking them and staring into each other's eyes. "It brings me great joy to see you again."
"I'm so glad you're okay, Mona Lisa."
"Oh, god," Derek said as he gagged at the sight of them. "Can somebody kill me so I don't have to witness this anymore?"
Leonardo cleared his throat, gladly interrupting their moment while ignoring the glare he got from his brother. "So, what happened out there?"
"Armaggon has captured G'Throkka and delivered him to the planet Sectoid-One." Mona responded.
Henry, however, narrowed his eyes slightly at her. The entire time she spoke those words, his wolf hearing had heard the sound of her heartbeat quickening with each little word she say, making it clear that she was lyingโ something that the wolf inside of him growled at.
Yet, Henry wasn't the only one who seemed to pick up on her quicken heartbeat.
Scott frowned slightly. "Uh, is that what really happened? Cause this whole thing seems off to me."
"It is," Mona persisted and yet, Henry could hear her heartbeat quickening with those little wordsโ her own heartbeat giving her away on her lies.
Derek scoffed, ignoring the glare from Raphael. "Listen here, lady, cause apparently, nobody taught you how toโ" before he could finish, Natalie lifted her foot and stomped on his, making the teenaged boy whip his head around to glare at her.
"Sectoid-One is Dregg's home world," Zane said, looking up from the ship's data. "He controls the entire system."
Briana typed into her console, bringing up a few more images on the screen. "The Explorer's Guide to the Universe says it's one of the most feared, evil planet in the cosmos."
"No wonder why he's always bragging about it." Eclipse muttered.
"We'll help you rescue Sal Commander," Raphael promised. "He's one of us."
Leonardo nodded. "He's right, we help our friends."
Fugitoid sighed. "Very well, then. Course to Sectoid-One plotted, initiating Tachyon Warp."
"Thank you, Raphael," Mona said. "Thank you, brave warriors."
Once again, Henry found himself narrowing his eyes at the female Salamandrian. The wolf inside of him was thrashing against the chains to break free, clearly with the intention of ripping her apart, but he held the chains back and kept it restrained.
"I don't like this." Eclipse muttered.
"Me either," Henry muttered, keeping his narrowed eyes on the female alien. "She's hiding something."
"I don't know, I've got one of those feelings." April said nervously.
"Don't worry about bugface, Cupcake," Mara said, slinging her arm over her shoulders. "Mara Sparks is here to protect you."
๐๐๐
IT WASN'T LONG before the ship lowered. "Welcome to the Sectoid System," Fugitoid said. "Population: bugs. Lots and lots of bugs."
"No, we couldn't tell," Natalie said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes while hugs splattered onto the window. "Clearly, it's all bugs."
"This is the most metal part of the galaxy I have ever seen," Casey said excitedly.
"It's not metal at all, actually, but organic rock," Fugitoid explained. "This world used to be even more grand and populated before Dregg took power. He's a race of ancient cosmic insects that created these hiver-worlds."
Michelangelo smirked at Raphael. "I bet this is majorly freaking you and Bri out, being afraid of bugs and all."
Raphael gasped, shoving him away. "Not in front of Mona, Mikey. I'm totally fine. No prob. Not itching all over or freaking out, not me..."
Mara turned to her best friend, a small teasingly smirk on her face as she nudged her. "You know, I'm sure your Prince Charming wouldn't mind protecting you from all of those bugs, B."
Briana felt her eyes widened and cheeks turned pink in embarrassment. "M!" She said softly, playfully pushing her a little. "Not in front of Kaz! I'm fine." Her skin paled a bit at all of the bugs that had splattered onto the window. "Haha, yeah... totally fine... definitely not freaked... out..."
"I think I've located Dregg's headquarters," Fugitoid said, squinting at the screen and tapping his head as he landed the ship on one of the planets.
"Come, my friends," Mona said as they left the ship. "I will lead us to Dregg's lair." She took the lead and everyone started walking.
Michelangelo gasped. "It's like walking across a giant wad of slowly baking pizza dough."
"It's an organic compound, not unlike hornet hives back home." Donatello called.
Casey shoved him forward. "Thanks for the info there, Donnipedia. Can we start kicking in some insect faces already?"
The rest of them ignored the argument that was starting between the two of them and continued walking. Suddenly, screaming was heard from behind them and the two ran past.
April sighed. "What did you do now, Casey?" She turned at a loud buzzing noise to see a hoard of hornets heading their way. "Aah! Space apples!" She screamed, startled, when a bug landed on her.
Michelangelo quickly used his kusarigama chain to grab the bug and wing it around, slamming it into other bugs around him. Leonardo, Henry, Kaz, and Eclipse cut through the bugs with their weapons while Derek and Scott sliced the bugs in half with their claws. Casey was smacking them with his bat while Zane, April, and Mara were shooting with their guns. Soon enough, the swarm started to flee.
"Whoo!" Casey cheered. "Yes, we did it!"
Donatello groaned. "Guys, this can't be good."
Everyone turned to him to find that he had been stung by one of the bugs. Both Mara and Casey immediately burst out laughing but Zane punched them in their shoulders.
"I'm hideous!" Donatello groaned.
"Oh, dear," Fugitoid gasped. "We should get him back to the ship immediately."
April and Fugitoid helped Donatello walk away while the rest of them turned and walked away, continuing on their way to rescue Sal Commander. It wasn't long till a castle came into view up ahead.
Michelangelo gasped. "Dudes, dudettes, that castle is right out of Crognard."
"It just has to be a bug." Briana mumbled under her breath, shivering a bit at the sight of the castle built as a bug.
Raphael thought for a moment. "If the castle is... yeesh... one giant bug... ahh... where do you think they keep the dungeon?"
"Lord Dregg is known to keep his prisoners caged in his throne room," Mona responded. "He sees them as trophies."
As they snuck their way into the castle and made their way towards the throne room, Casey started. "This place is so metโ"
"You finish that sentence again, Casey, and I'll kick your ass." Kaz warned.
Leonardo peered ahead into the dark room to see a shadowy figure laying on the floor. "Sal Commander."
He led the way and over to the fallen Salamandrian. "Sal Commander, it's us." Leonardo whispered.
Henry felt his ears pricked at a noise and his eyes widened. "Leo, don't!"
But the warning came too late as Leonardo had already reached for the unconscious Sal Commander, only for him to disappear at his touch. Insect-like arms sprang up and an orange orb began to form around them. Leonardo, Raphael, Eclipse, Henry, and Derek rolled out of the way, leaving the others in the bubble.
"Hey!" Michelangelo and Briana exclaimed in unison.
"What the heck?!" Casey snapped.
"Hey, what gives!?" Mara snapped.
"What the hell is going on!?" Natalie questioned.
Zane slammed his fists onto the bubble. "Let us out!"
Dregg's menacing laughter echos through the room as the lights turned on, revealing Dregg sitting on his throne.
"Lord Dregg." Leonardo growled.
Dregg leaned forward. "Finally, the mutant aliens are mine."
"You mean ours, Dregg," Armaggon corrected as he walked into view. "Don't you cut old Armaggon out of the deal."
"Are you kidding me!?" Scott snapped from inside the bubble. "He was going to willingly betray you last time!"
"His deception cost him dearly, but our hatred for you aliens is stronger than a measly double cross," Dregg hissed, a sly smile formed on his face as he turned towards the female alien. "You did well, Y'Gythgba."
"I KNEW IT!" Henry snapped as he at the female Salamandrian. "I knew you were lying! Your heartbeat was beating way too fast for you not to be lying!"
"I TOLD YOU!" Eclipse yelled at her brother.
"Mona?" Raphael questioned, a look of disbelief and hurt written on his face as his shoulders slumped. "How could you?"
Dregg laughed. "Fools! You fell right into my trap."
Derek scoffed, sending a cold glare at Mona. "You and your talk of honor, where's the honor in setting us up!?"
Raphael fell to his knees. "Mona, why did you betray us? Why did you betray me?"
"Raph, focus," Leonardo ordered, drawing his swords. "Free the others. Clips, Hen, Derek, let's take these guys down."
Derek went straight for Armaggon, using his claws to cut through a couple of Vreen first. But Armaggon shoved him aside and more Vreen tackled him while the alien shark started towards Raphael.
But before he could even try to help, everything went black.
๐๐๐
BY THE TIME that Derek came too, he, Leonardo, Henry, Eclipse, and Raphael had been tossed into the bubble with the others. Dregg was enjoying what appeared to be an insect drink while staring down at them.
"Once I discovered the red turtle had a thing for the Salamandrian female, the plan came easily." Dregg bragged.
"Blah, blah, blah," Mara said as he rolled his eyes. "Nobody cares, dude."
"Hey, who hacked their intergalactic love-mail?" Armaggon retorted. "Armaggon. Who captured the big lizard? Armaggon."
"Alright, we get it." Dregg snapped.
"Just saying."
"Oh, my, god, just shut up! Man, you're annoying! Nobody likes a gloater, dude," Derek said. "Or traitors."
Raphael groaned as he woke up and Leonardo approached him. "Raph, what happened back there?"
"Leo, take it easy on him," Henry defended. "This is the hardest on him."
"Yeah, bro, Raph just took the worst kind of punch: one to the heartโ squish, squish." Michelangelo said as he and Briana were by Raphael's side.
"What are you gonna do with us, Dregg?" Kaz questioned.
"First, I desire the fragments of the black hole machine." Dregg responded.
"You're too late," Eclipse said. "The Triceratons have them."
"What!?" Dregg shouted. "Wait! Where is the other turtle?"
"All the way across the galaxy, Dregg," Scott lied with a smirk. "He's bringing an army of Utroms as we speak."
"Yeah, nobody messes with Donnie."
๐๐๐
"YEAH, I REALLY don't think this is a normal reaction," Donatello said, resting in the medical bay. "Cause, like, my brain is weird."
"Hold still, D," April scolded. "Fugitoid's on this."
"Oh, dear, this is horrifically bad." Fugitoid said.
"Can you save him, Professor?"
"Cure the sting of a Xaxx bee, one of the rarest venoms in the known universe?" The white robot questioned. "Why, yes." He pulled out a container with three needles attached. "Yes, I can, actually."
๐๐๐
"YOU PROMISED TO discuss the terms of our home world," Sal Commander snapped.
"We trusted your word, Dregg." Mona added.
Derek rolled his eyes. "What is it with you two idiots trusting the bad guys? First, it was Subprime and now, it's this idiot?"
"Indeed, you did," Dregg flew off his throne while ignoring the teenaged shapeshifter, landing in front of the two Salamandrians. "Come, let us speak in private. Armaggon, keep your eye on our dinner guests." Armaggon chuckled, looking back at them. "And don't eat them." Dregg warned, leading Sal Commander and Mona out of the room.
Armaggon rolled his eyes. "Ah, you always take the fun out of everything, Dregg."
As they were leaving, Mona looked at Raphael with a sad expression. Raphael gave her a short glance over his shoulder before turning away while Briana kept her focus on her heartbroken brother, giving the female alien the cold shoulder. However, Henry didn't cared about what the female Salamandrian thought and didn't hesitant to give her the middle finger.
๐๐๐
DONATELLO OPENED HIS eyes to find Fugitoid and April hovering over him. He pushed himself up to sit. "Fugitoid, you did it. I'm my old handsome self again. Thank you!" He paused when he remembered the others. "Wait. Wa-wa-wait, wait. Have we heard from the others?"
"Their coms are down; we have to assume they were captured," Fugitoid responded. "We were just formulating a rescue plan. It will be virtually impossible to evade all of Dregg's minions."
"But we have to try," April argued. "We can do it."
Donatello jumped off the table. "Hey, Professor, that anti-venom you treated my sting with... gives me an idea."
After gathering what they needed, they set out for the castle while Donatello lagged behind to let Fugitoid and April take the lead. The two approached the group of Vreen before them and got their attention.
"Hello! Whoo-hoo! Lala!"
"Hey, buggy freak! Whoo!"
The Vreen screeched and took flight. The two took their cue and ran as the Vreen pursed them. They came around a corner and took cover while Donatello waited and sprayed the Vreen with a blue mist from the canister, quickly taking them out.
"Donatello, your plan to turn the anti-venom into bug spray was brilliant," Fugitoid chirped, coming out of hiding.
Donatello smirked. "Yeah, that's right. I'm bad!"
"Just save some for the castle." April said as she ran ahead, the other two following.
๐๐๐
"WANNA EAT THOSE mutants," Armaggon grumbled to himself. "So hungry. Mutants look delicious."
Derek growled. "If he touches me, I'm making shark fin soup out of him."
Seeing that the alien shark was busy, Henry and Leonardo gave a nod at Casey.
Casey flipped out his taser in his glove, smirking. "Yeah." He threw his arm up, slamming the taser against the casing. "Yahoo!" The electricity shattered the casing.
Armaggon spun around and looked over. "Ah! You gotta be pulling my fin!"
"Now, go! Go!" Leonardo, Michelangelo, Henry, Eclipse, and Derek went for Armaggon while Briana, Mara, Casey, Kaz, Zane, Scott, and Natalie kept the Vreen busy.
Raphael, on the other hand, was the only one that didn't move from his sight.
"Raph! Come on, man, we gotta fight!" Leonardo ordered.
"Huh?" A Vreen dropped down behind him and slammed its fist into him, sending him flying.
"ENOUGH!" Dregg shouted, joining the fight and quickly overpowering them.
He threw them down a slope toward a gaping hole. Natalie groaned in disgust at the weird goo that was at the bottom.
"Uh, gross." Natalie commented.
"Um, are we in some kinda giant bug belly?" Michelangelo asked as they looked up at the hole.
"It's way cozier than a kraang worm stomach," Mara responded. "Trust me on that."
Scott blinked at those words. "Uh, what?"
A growl caught their attention and he turned around. "What theโ?" A scorpion bug creature crawled out of the walls, roaring at them.
This time, it was Mara who blinked. "You know, I think I prefer being stuck inside a kraang worm stomach now."
๐๐๐
"NOTHING EVER SURVIVES a Scorpinoid," Armaggon commented, looking away from the hole. "They'll be dead soon."
"Rokka." Mona summoned her blades, turning to attack Armaggon. He was one step ahead of her and blocked her attack.
"Nice try." He punched her and Sal Commander down, Vreen pinning them to the floor.
"Foolish!" Dregg called from his throne. "Now I will have Salamandrians to feast upon instead. As for your planet? A literal smorgasbord. Today Dregg wins. Yes, go, Dregg!"
"This is bad," Fugitoid said as Dregg cheered himself on. He, Donatello, and April hiding in the entrance of the throne room.
"Hmm, I think Armaggon might be able to help us out." April said.
๐๐๐
AS FOR THE others that were down in the hole, they weren't doing so good against the Scorpinoid since the creature was way stronger than they were. One of its pincers was locked around Raphael, who was struggling to get free before it tossed him aside.
"Get it together, Raph!" Casey shouted.
Raphael squeezed his eyes shut and clenched his fists, shaking his head as if it would slap some sense into him. He didn't have time to worry about what Mona did to him.
Not when his family needed him.
๐๐๐
"JUST LIKE OUR training, April," Fugitoid encouraged quietly.
April held her crystal shard in one hand as she concentrated her power, picking up the odd container that the alien shark had been holding and hitting it against Dregg's head. Dregg turned, angrily, to glare at the alien shark.
Armaggon looked down at his hand, realizing that the container was gone. "Hold up, Dregg. I didn't throw it."
Dregg flew off his throne, landing in front of Armaggon. "You aquatic simpleton!" He snapped, pushing the shark back.
"Get off of me, you freak."
With the two distracted by their little fight, the three of them snuck into the throne room and Donatello used the bug spray on the Vreen that were pinning Mona and Sal Commander to the ground, killing the Vreen.
Donatello ran over to help Mona up. "You guys okay?"
"We have failed you, Donatello." Mona responded.
April shot down an odd part of the castle, throwing it down to the others in the hole to serve as a rope. "Guys, up here!"
Everyone grabbed the rope and beginning to climb up, leaving the hole. Dregg finally noticed what was happening, hearing the Vreen screech before they succumbed to the bug spray. "What?"
Dregg appeared behind Donatello, who tried to spray him, only to find the canister empty. "Uh-oh."
"Sacrilege!" Dregg snapped, tying up Donatello with his spider hands.
"Little help!" Donatello shouted as Dregg placed him in his mouth. Mona slammed her fist into the back of the bug's head, forcing him to spit out the turtle.
Mona pulled out her sword, activating the laser within it. "I made a terrible mistake. And I intend to rectify it." She ran at Dregg, fighting him while Donatello and Sal Commander handled the Vreen.
April was still holding the makeshift rope, only for Armaggon to slam his helmet into her, knocking her to the floor. "Ha! I'm gonna enjoy this!"
"I don't think you will," Fugitoid responded. His head opened and shot a laser at the shark, who barely managed to dive out of the way. Dregg ducked to avoid the laser, which blasted a giant hole in the castle wall.
Henry shoved Armaggon down as Dregg fell into a hole that had appeared beneath him. "Everybody, that way!" He ordered, pointing at the hole. "Go!"
Everyone took off for the hole while Raphael had gotten a little stuck while climbing out. Briana grabbed her brother and pulled him out as Mona had walked over, and Raphael turned his shell to her.
Mona sighed. "I'm so sorry I did not tell you the truth, Raphael."
"I trusted you! More than anyone in the galaxy!" Raphael snapped. "And you betrayed me!" He ran after the others.
Although Briana hadn't say anything, she only shot the female Salamandrian a glare before following the others. Mona hesitated for a moment before following.
"We gotta get off this giant beehive!" Eclipse shouted.
"I am remotely preparing the Ulixes for take-off," the robot responded, typing into the plating above his hand.
"UNLEASH THE SCORPINOID!"
They all skidded to a halt and turned to see Dregg standing on top of the Scorpinoid with an army of Vreen. "You will not escape!"
"Man, this guy is really annoying." Scott commented.
"Go," Mona ordered, tightly gripping her sword. "Get to your ship."
Sal Commander ran up beside her. "We'll hold them off." He roared.
"Are you crazy!? What about your planet? Your people?" Donatello questioned.
"Hey, they want to sacrifice themselves, I vote let them." Natalie said with a shrug.
"Go," Mona reaffirmed. "Save your world." She glanced at Raphael. "And Raphael, I will always love you." She dashed toward the Vreen with Sal Commander, fending them off.
Derek felt his right eyebrow twitched. "Oh, for the loveโ YOU JUST MET EACH OTHER!"
As much as he didn't feel like it, he followed the others to help out the two Salamandrians in the fight. The fight was going pretty well, but Mona didn't notice the Scorpinoid coming up behind her until it stabbed her in the back. The female Salamandrian gasped, collapsing as it pulled back.
"MONA!"
Raphael ran for the Scorpinoid, taking it with his sais before jumping on top to attack Dregg. He landed an upper-cut on Dregg and popped his head clean off to reveal another robotic head inside, making him scream.
"Ahh!"
"No fair, no fair!" The robotic thing shouted. "I'll destroy you, turtle. I'll destroy you all."
Raphael punched the robotic head a few times before grabbing the body and tossing it off the Scorpinoid. He jumped off the bug, running back to Mona. "Mona!" He skidded to a stop on his knees beside her and taking her into his arms. "Mona."
The Scorpinoid roared, ready to attack, only for the Ulixes to shoot it with a laser, knocking it onto its back.
"I love remote control," Fugitoid chirped happily.
"Whoa." Casey flipped his mask up as he watched the ship fly by. "Fugitoid, you are so metal." He punched the robot's shoulder.
"Why, actually, yes, I amโ and a plastic fiber compound." The robot agreed.
"You'll be okay, Mona. You'll put through."
๐๐๐
THE FEMALE SALAMANDRIAN woke up in the medical bay a while later after they left Dregg's home world.
"Hey there, sleepyhead." Michelangelo greeted.
"Do not fret, my dear," Fugitoid reassured her as he scanned her. "Soon you'll be feeling 100%."
"Brave warriors, we ask for something impossible: your forgiveness." Sal Commander said.
"Ugh," Mona groaned as she pushed herself up so she was sitting. "I'm... so sorry, Raphael." She turned toward him. "Will you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?"
"I'll kill him if he does." Derek muttered underneath his breath.
Everyone decided to let them have their privacy and left the medical bay, heading for the bridge. Soon, it was just Raphael and Mona in the medical bay.
"I, uh..." Raphael cleared his throat. "I'm not gonna lie, but... it did hurtโ what you did. I mean... I'm not mad or anything, I get why you did it. I just think..." he paused for a second, biting the lower half of his lip.
Mona sensed his hesitation, already having a feeling where this was going. "It is alright, Raphael. You can say it."
Raphael remained silent for a while before he kept going. "I just think that... maybe one day, we... we can go back to being friends."
Mona nodded.
"Friends... that will be alright with me."
"Heartbreak stings for a while and maybe you never really forget about the pain, but over time, it'd slowly fade away."
