"So, who's ready to meet Muckman, the monster hero of New York City?"
one week before...
IT WAS SUPPOSED to be one pair of sneakers. That's all it was supposed to beโ that was the plan Henry had gone in with. But, of course, fate had it out for him because there were all these clothes his size that Henry couldn't help but notice and despite not wanting too as he didn't want to feel like a charity case or taking Daniel's money, it was Daniel who convinced him to try them on at the leastโ and that's how he found himself in this position in the first place.
Henry stood in a stall inside the men's dressing room, staring at his reflection in the mirror as he was unable to look away. He was trying on a grey shirt, denim jeans, black Nike sneakers, and a black leather jacket over the shirt he had on.
Waiting outside of the men's dressing room and the women's dressing room, Daniel had been standing in the waiting area with his hands rested against his sides. Kurtzman, who was there as moral support for his friend, was sitting in one of the plastic chairs outside the dressing rooms.
"Daniel, would you just sit down and relax?" Kurtzman questioned. "You do realize that we're gonna be here all day, right?"
Daniel raised an eyebrow at his words. "No, no. I'm just here to buy the kids an outfit, that's all."
"Oh, yeah, sure," Kurtzman said sarcastically, staring up at him with a 'are you sure about that' look on his face. "It definitely won't change you when they step out from behind that curtain with a look on their face that says, 'how does this look on me, dad?'"
"I'm not sitting in one of these daddy chairs and wait for the kids to spend my money, Jackson," Daniel answered.
"Daniel," Kurtzman said seriously. "Sit in the chair."
"I am never ever going to sit in that chair!"
Kurtzman just shook his head as he leaned against the seat he was sitting in. "We'll see about that."
Natalie's voice sounded from behind the curtains inside of the women's dressing room. "Are you sure you're okay with this?" She asked.
Henry's voice was the next to sound from behind the curtains inside of the men's dressing room. "Yeah, seriously, I don't need an outfit."
Daniel rolled his eyes at their antics. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on out, you two. Let's see what you two put together."
For a split second, Henry hesitated before he slowly found himself, stepping out from behind the curtain while wearing the clothes he had tried on. At the same time, Natalie slowly left the women's dressing room as well, wearing her new clothes that Daniel had promised to get her: she was wearing a new pair of boots and a short, red dress with a floral design on the upper part of her chest.
Daniel stood there frozen as he stared at them as both Henry and Natalie had that exact look on their faces that Kurtzman had told him about, eyes wide as a stunned breath left his lips. Unable to said anything, Daniel sank into the plastic chair behind him and Kurtzman turned to him with a smirk, opened his mouth to said something but Daniel beat him to it by responding, "I know."
"Well, what do you think?" Natalie asked. She tried to look like she didn't care, but there was a slight hopeful look in her eyes.
For a moment, Daniel was silent as he had no idea what to said as he stared at them before he managed to stammered out, "Wow. Look at you two."
"Yeah, this might be my favorite day ever." Kurtzman whispered lowly to himself, a teasingly smirk at his friend's stunned silence.
Henry stepped closer to him. "Daniel, you don't have to do this. Really, it's not necessary."
"I know, but I want to," Daniel told him. "I... I want to be responsible for this, if you two would let me."
Natalie stared at the man that was her biological father. A part of her wanted to run awayโ to run away before her life started falling downhill again and something bad happened because of her again, but she couldn't get her feet to move. It was like her feet were glued to the floor, forcing her to stand there and listen to Daniel's words while seeing the look of awe on his faceโ a look that reminded of her of when her adoptive father gave her that same look before the incident happened and everything changed.
Yes, a part of her run wanted to run away but seeing that familiar look on his face... damn it, it made her want to stay.
"I guess if I have to stay at your place, I don't see why not," Natalie said, refusing to admit the truth of what she actually thought. "But thank you."
"Your welcome." Daniel said before turning to his son.
Henry stared at him before speaking up, his voice coming out in a low, soft whisper. "No one's ever done anything like this for me before."
"Well... now, someone has," Daniel said warmly. "Now, go pick something else out and go back into the dressing room and be happy and come out with that face on."
"You'll be okay?"
"Oh, me? I'll... I'll be fine," Daniel reassured, patting the plastic chair he was sitting on. "I... I have this chair."
And for the first time since meeting him, Henry gave the slightest hint of a smile before slowly making his way back to the dressing room, yet unaware that Kris was standing by a nearby aisle, watching the scene in front of her.
๐๐๐
"DANIEL GOT YOU all these clothes?" Zane asked, looking at all the shopping bags that were outside his closest while Henry was inside of his closest, trying the clothes on as he had gone over to Zane's place after he was done shopping with Daniel and Natalie. Zane was sitting in his chair at his desk and since his mother was at work, the two had invited the five mutant turtles and Briana over.
"It's not about the clothes," Henry said from inside the closet. "It's that someone wanted to do this for me."
"Of course, Daniel wanted to do this for you, Hen," Zane answered. "And it's obvious why."
Henry stayed silent for a while, as if he was thinking things over. "I have to tell you guys something and I don't want you to react."
"You hear that, Little Warrior?" Raphael said, looking towards his youngest sister.
"Whaโ why are you guys acting like I would do that?" Briana asked, only receiving looks from the others as she sighed. "Okay, fine, I won't react."
"Maybeโ and just maybe," Henry said quickly, as if he was trying not to get excited. "Let yourself hope for one thing, it might actually happen because... today was a really good day and... it felt really good to..." he let himself trailed off, stopping himself from finishing.
"It felt really good to what?" Eclipse asked her boyfriend. Although they all knew what he wanted to said, they still wanted to get Henry to said itโ to admit it to himself.
"I... I'm not sure, just..." Henry started again. "It felt really good to not have to be the adult or worry about any responsibilities for once."
"Henry, it's okay to want something," Leonardo answered.
"I want something?" Henry asked, his voice and tone as soft as everโ as if it was still processing for him and hasn't settled in yet.
"Do you?" Michelangelo asked.
"I... maybe."
"You just gotta ask yourself," Donatello responded. "When Daniel's done helping you learn to control your wolf side, do you want him to leave or do you want him to stay?"
"He's right, Hen," Zane added. "Daniel told you himself: everything was up to you. So, what is it that you want?"
Henry didn't said anything, letting the words sink in as he thought everything over. But although he hadn't said anything, everyone already knew what his answer was.
And that's what scared Henry, because deep down, he knew what the answer was.
๐๐๐
THERE WAS A loud, repeatedly knocking on the door and Daniel walked over to it, grabbing the doorknob and opening it to find Kris on the other side. "Kris? What are you doing here?" Daniel questioned.
"I have to know what are your intentions with my son."
Daniel blinked, a confused look on his face. "I'm sorry, what?"
"I saw you there with him," Kris stated plainly. "You bought him clothes. Hell, you bought him a whole new wardrobe! Why? Why are you sticking around?" She then suddenly frowned, giving him a small glare. "Oh, and thanks for lying to me about how he wasn't staying with you the whole time."
This time, Daniel was the one that frowned next. "Okay, one, I didn't lie to you. Henry hasn'tโ isn't staying here with me. Two, I invited Henry to come along when I ran into him outside your house. And three, Henry wanted me to help him learn how to control his wolf side."
"And what happens when you're done helping him, Daniel?" Kris questioned. "When he won't need you to help him anymore with it? Are you going to turn around and leave?"
Daniel could feel the wolf inside of him giving a small growl at what her words implied, but he pulled the chains that kept his wolf restrained back while narrowed his eyes at her. "What are you saying, Kris?"
"I don't want you to get close with Henry if you're just gonna leave right after," Kris said. "I don't want Henry to get hurt by it. Iโ"
"Okay, hold on," Daniel interrupted, staring at her with a frown. "Whenever I leave or not isn't up to me or you. It's up to Henryโ I already told him that when we were done, if he wanted me to leave, I would. I'm not trying to hurt him, Kris. I don't want to hurt him. I just wanted him to have a good day, that's all. So, yeah, I bought him some clothes. He tried not to show it, but I saw the look on his face, he lit up when he saw it, Kris, and I thoughtโ"
"You thought what, Daniel?" Kris cut in, narrowing her eyes at him. "That you'd come into his life, play the hero while I play the bad guy, and then disappear when he really needs you?"
"Excuse me?" Daniel questioned sharply, now glaring at her. "Why are you implying that I'm gonna leave? Like I said, me leaving isn't up to me or you. It's Henry's decision if he wants me in his life."
"You weren't thereโ"
"And whose fault was it that I wasn't there before?" Daniel swiftly interrupted, making sure to keep a tight grip on the chains that kept his wolf restrained. The last thing he wanted was to turn into his wolf and go on rampage. "Who's the one that told me to stay away because she couldn't be honest with her husband and tell him the truth? I know we both had a part to play in destroying your marriage but you're the one that couldn't be honest with Jack about what happened and the one that told me to stay away from Henry."
"I was doing what I thought was best for him, Daniel," Kris said. "He's my son."
"He's my son too just as much as he is yours," Daniel retorted sharply. "Oh, and congratulations, Kris, you're doing a fantastic job on doing what's best for Henry." He added the final part sarcastically.
Kris crossed her arms over her chest as she glared at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Daniel scoffed as he glared at her. "Do you know what Henry told me while we were shopping? He said, 'no one's ever done anything like this for me before.' So, tell me, Kris, how is never being there for him what's best for Henry? Hell, for both of your kidsโ and you can't lie to me because one, I'll know if you're lying and two, for Henry's entire life, I've kept a closed eye on him no matter where he was. You and Jack left Henry and Piper on their own their entire lives that every time I had to fight back the urge to sue you for full-custody of Henry."
Kris dropped her arms to her sides, a small frown coming on her face. "You were planning to sue me?"
"I've thought about doing it," Daniel said. "God, I wanted too so badโ and the only reason I didn't is because I knew that Henry wouldn't go with me because there was no way that he was gonna leave his little sister on her own, and I didn't want to have to force him."
Kris seemed to have relaxed a tiny bit, her shoulders softening slightly as she sighed. "I still don't want him to get hurt, Danielโ and I don't want him involved in your type of lifestyle. He's my son, so maybe... you should take a step back. Take some time and figure out what you're gonna do."
"Kris, I told you, it's not up to youโ or me, for that matter," Daniel said. "And don't act like you care about hurting Henry because you've already done that."
Kris frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Three months, Kris," Daniel said with a scoff. "You haven't seen your kids in three months because of that alien invasion and the first thing you and Jack do is go to work rather than spending a bit more time with them. And Henryโ the poor kid had to be the grown up because you two were either going on vacations or swamped with work."
"I had work, Daniel," Kris defended. "Somebody has to paid bills, buy the food and clothes, or the damn mortgage."
"One day," Daniel said with a scoff. "That's all you have to ask for to get offโ one day. So, I'm sorry if I'm trying to help Henry and let the poor kid actually get the chance to be a kid, like you and Jack should've be doing and no, I won't be staying away from him, Kris. I'm helping Henry with his wolf side and if him and I just happen to start bonding along the way, I am not going to apologize for it because I won't let myself miss out on anything else from his life so, if you have a problem with it, then you're gonna have to suck it up and deal with it."
Then, Daniel backed up, starting to close the door while he kept his glare focused on Daniel. "Now, if you excuse me, goodbye, Kris."
And with that, Daniel closed the door behind himself and shook his head before walking away on the front door while on the other side of the door, Kris stood there for a few seconds with wide eyes as she took in everything that's just happened.

Present day...
THE TWO LEADERS lead the way across the rooftops to the building that was their target after following a van that had two familiar names on the side of it. Even as Rocksteady approached the window, the seven teens remained hiding.
"Oh, is only garbage manโ" the mutant rhino was cut off by Leonardo jumped through the window, slamming his foot into the mutant and flipping off of him. The others jumped through the window behind him, weapons drawn.
"What the what?" Bebop asked. "How'd you find us?" He started shooting his lasers at them.
Donatello knocked one away with his staff. "By stalking out Shredder's lair for fifteen hours straight without so much a bathroom break!"
"That, and you're driving a van with a Bebop and Rocksteady sign on it." Eclipse added.
Boy Danger, Michelangelo, Captain Violet, and Leonardo charged at Bebop while Raphael, Donatello, and Eclipse charged at Rocksteady.
Bebop grabbed a canister of mutagen. "Eat mutagen!" He threw the canister at the orange masked mutant turtle.
"Not the face!" Michelangelo managed to duck his head into his shell, avoiding the canister that went over his head and out the window.
Michelangelo ran to a table, jumping on top of it and jumping to attack Rocksteady. "Booyakaโ" Donatello slammed into him, a sending the two flying back into a wall.
"We're getting our shells waxed." Donatello groaned.
Raphael kicked Rocksteady in the head. "What brings you two morons here anyway?" He questioned. "Dexter Flyface's grocery list?"
He and Eclipse dodged as Rocksteady tried to smash them with his hammer. "Is not grocery list," the rhino snapped. He looked at Bebop. "Run. We cannot return to Shredder and Jake with the empty hand."
"That's my cue to bounce." Bebop turned himself invisible, slamming into Captain Violet and escaping through the window. "I'm outtie 5,000."
Rocksteady bulldozed through the rest of them and escaped out the door.
"Hey, Raph? Never mock a 1,000 pound rhino man." Eclipse told him.
Then, the seven teens made their way back to the lair and Donatello started going over the notes on his phone. "According to the lab's records, two things are missing: mutagenโ"
"Which they threw at my head," Michelangelo added, Boy
Danger holding an ice pack to his head.
"Which they threw at Mikey's head," Donatello said. "And Reagent-X, an ingredient needed to make a mind control serum."
"So, what's the game plan?" Raphael asked.
"Reagent-X still needs an additional chemical solvent to work." Briana answered.
"Let's just hope that Bebop and Rocksteady haven't found all the components yet." Leonardo said.
๐๐๐
JOAN GRODY APPEARED on the tv that they were using as the newscast lady was interviewing a new mutant. "Care to comment. What kind of creature are you? A mutant? A sewer monster? What's your name?"
"Muckman?" April questioned once the words appeared on the screen. "Joan Grody should've left you in charge of names, Mikey."
"I would've gone with The Noxious Avenger," Michelangelo said as he stood up.
"Hmm, I bet he's one of Stockman-fly's experiments gone awry," Donatello said.
Raphael got to his feet. "I say we find this guy and, assuming we can tell his butt from his face, kick it."
"What if he's on our side though?" Briana asked. "They said he stopped a mugging."
"What if Shredder and Jake want the Reagent-X to control Muckman?" Donatello suggested.
Eclipse smirked. "Well, we'll do what Raph said: kick his butt."
Luckily, it wasn't hard for them to find the new mutant, considering Muckman was running away from a human crowd.
"You see that? Only a guilty man runs." Raphael said.
"Or a scared one," April comments.
"He might just want stay out of sight and for people to leave him alone," Kaz added in agreement. "Just like you guys."
They followed Muckman as he squeezed under a fence, getting away from the crowd and into the safety of an alley. "They don't care about me," he said, talking to his own eyeball that he held in his hand. "I'm just a jokeโ a slideshow they can point and laugh at."
The five mutant turtles, Boy Danger, Captain Violet, April, and Kaz dropped down into the alley, catching his attention.
"Dude, are you talking to your eyeball?" Michelangelo questioned.
Muckman gasped. "Turtle men? Turtle woman? Human scums?"
"Well, technically, we're mutant teens." Donatello corrected.
Muckman put his eyeball back in his head. "It was you!" A wind picked up, the garbage in the alley floating in the air. "You did this to me!" He threw garbage at the seven teens, who quickly pulled out their weapons but got knocked down. "You made me into a freak!" He spewed sludge on them.
April stepped in front of them, holding her tessen while Kaz made a ball of fire appear in his hands. "Don't hurt them. We're warning you."
"I don't wanna hurt you two, little girl." Muckman backed away from April and Kaz, fleeing as he noticed a crowd of people entering the alleyway.
Kaz noticed the crowd of people and quickly made the ball of fire vanished, running back to the others alongside April. "Get up! They're gonna see you."
"Oh, no, they're not." Michelangelo replied, throwing down a smoke bomb.
๐๐๐
NOW THAT THEY were back at the lair, they had the TV on to find the news covering them. "They saw something, but they don't know what." Michelangelo said.
"And that 'something' appeared to be five human-sized mutant turtles and two human teenagers wearing costumes."
"At least she doesn't know they're ninjas?" April suggested with a nervous chuckle, giving Splinter his cup of tea.
"And they appeared to be carrying ninja weapons."
"Or that the guys are named after artists? Or that Clips is named after the lunar eclipse? Henry being a half mutant wolf?"
"Furthermore, they may alsoโ"
Kaz turned the TV off while April spoke up. "Oh, doesn't she ever shut up?"
"How could you all be so careless!?" Splinter snapped. "Secrecy is the most important rule of the ninja, and you have broken it. You are forbidden from leaving the lair."
"WHAT!?" Raphael shouted. "You can't hold that sloppy escape against us. We got slimed with toxic puke!"
"SILENCE!"
"But, sensei, if that pile of muck took us down, you know he's dangerous." Donatello responded.
"Which means we have to be out there to take him down." Eclipse added.
"No," Splinter dismissed quickly. "Until I can decide I can trust you to watch yourselves, you will remain here. Grounded!" He left the room and everyone but Michelangelo groaned.
The orange masked mutant turtle scooted closer to the TV. "Aw, yeah. Crognard marathon."
Suddenly, Splinter's cane hits the tv, breaking the screen. "And no TV."
And so, the seven teens ended up in Michelangelo's bedroom, bored out of their minds while Donatello and Briana ran tests on the sludge.
"Muckman's running on more than mutagen," Briana said. "Whatever garbage he's made up of directly affects your guys' mutated DNA."
"Ugh, there's only one cure for Muckman fever," Michelangelo held up a VHS tape. "Crognard."
"Mikey, you realize that sensei's gonna find outโ" Henry started.
The door suddenly slammed open, revealing Splinter. He gathered the VHS tapes and TV set and walked away with it while Michelangelo whined in response.
Eclipse pulled out her T-Phone, pulling up a video of the news report.
"We all hope Muckman keeps us safe from the evil, child-eating mutant turtles we brought you an exclusive clip of earlier tonight."
Raphael groaned. "Are you serious?"
"We can't let Grody mosh our reps so hard." Michelangelo said.
"Forget our reps," Leonardo said. "What about Rocksteady and Bebop?"
"They're more important." They looked over to see April and Kaz walking into the room. "I'm telling you, something about Muckmanโ" April closed the door, holding up a newspaper for them to see. "I think he's a good guy."
"Well, Bebop and Rocksteady it is then," Henry agreed. "And I say we show sensei we've still got our ninja stealth, by sneaking out."
๐๐๐
THEY SNUCK THEIR way out into the main room and Henry's ears flicked up at footsteps. Immediately, they all quickly pretended to be doing their own thing right when Splinter pulled back the dividers, blocking their view of the dojo.
"Did you not hear what I saโ"
The giant mutant rat was cut off when he noticed that they were just hanging out. He turned back to the dojo and they moved a few steps before he turned back. He walked back into the dojo and they took it as their chance to bolt for the exit, only to get stopped and blocked by Splinter.
"Oh, oh, whoa!" He took notice of April, hanging from a spiral ramp. "Uh, help?" She let go.
"April." Splinter jumped over them, catching April while they all bolted for the Party Wagon.
๐๐๐
THE BEBOP AND Rocksteady van was stopped in an alley. "I can't believe they keep driving that uberconspicious van." Michelangelo said.
"Not everybody can be as ninja as us." Eclipse said as Donatello pulled the van to park along the curb, hitting a couple of other cars and setting off their alarms in the process.
Then, they got out of the Party Wagon and jumped onto the fire escape and lamppost near the lab.
"Busting into kraang labs?" Raphael asked. "Not very heroic, Mucky." They dropped down into the alley. "What will your girl Grody say?"
"Muckman, look, we don't want to hurt you," Boy Danger said. "But we can't let you rob that lab either."
"I'm not some dumb kid who don't know good from bad," Muckman retorted. "I know who turned me into a monster. You!" He spewed sludge at them and they scattered to avoid it.
"I knew he was just another freaky puke monster," Raphael said. "Get him!"
"Get the chemical. We'll handle them," Bebop said quickly, both he and Rocksteady running to attack.
Boy Danger and Leonardo dodged Bebop's lasers with their blades while Michelangelo tried to get a hit on him with his nunchucks. Bebop spun out of the way, ducking under Eclipse's kamas as she slung at him. He spun onto his back to dodge Captain Violet, but the purple haired girl managed to kick him in the head as he got back up.
"What are you doing, Muckman? You're supposed to be a hero." Captain Violet said.
"No. You made me a monster. Now, you're gonna see what a monster can do." Muckman roared, the wind picking up as the trash in the alley lifted. He sent it flying at them.
Eclipse sliced through the garbage flying at her. "I don't know what these two morons told you, but we did not do this to you."
"Trash-nado!" Michelangelo called, getting swept away by the wind, only for his ankle to get caught by a telephone wire.
"Look..." Leonardo started, slicing through any trash headed his way. "We're taking it easy on you. This is a big misunderstanding. We don'tโ we don't want to have toโ" a bunch of garbage slammed into him, throwing him back into Eclipse and sending them both into the van. "Hurt you."
The wire snapped, sending Michelangelo flyingโ though, his head got stuck in the hole in Muckman's stomach as the mutant pulled him out.
"Wait!" Michelangelo shouted. "Are you gonna eat that?"
Muckman threw him over to Boy Danger and the two were knocked back into the van. Raphael, Donatello, and Captain Violet got knocked back into the van by Bebop and Rocksteady as well. Just as Muckman approached, Captain Violet could've swore that Unagami gave a small groan inside her head.
"You kids are hopeless if you're losing to this freak." Unagami commented from inside her head, rolling her eyes. "I gotta do all the work myself."
Then, Captain Violet's eyes turned bright evil red with black pupils and right when Muckman spewed sludge onto them, the girl threw her hands up as a teal blue aura formed around them, making a shield around them as the sludge fall to the ground instead. Then, she lowered the shield once the mutant was done as she pushed herself to her feet.
"Alright, freak, listen good," Unagami stated firmly. "As annoying as those kids are, they didn't mutate anyone or turn you into this. And those two dumbasses over there? They're USING you, moron."
"Mucking man," Rocksteady said. "Do not listen to the princess's lies. We crush them, you go in lab."
"Who the hell do you think you're calling a liar?" Unagami questioned angrily. "Clearly, you don't know who I am so, I'll show you."
As a teal blue aura now formed around her body (and not just her hands), a black shadow loomed over Captain Violet's body with glowing red eyes and black pupils in them. The demonic shadow glared at them before pointing its right hand at the two mutants, lifting the two up before using her magic to squeeze their throats, cutting off their air supply as in the very moment, both Rocksteady and Bebop struggled to breathe.
"I could easily kill you dumbasses right here and now if I felt like it," Unagami warned. "And as tempting as it is, this is your warning: if you ever call me a liar again, I'll send you through more worse types of pain and death combined than Shredder and Jake can ever show before killing you two myself."
And with those words, Unagami's demonic shadow thrusted her right hand forward, flinging both Rocksteady and Bebop to the wall as the two mutants slammed into it and fell to the ground.
"Come on, Mucky," the eyeball remarked. "You think it's hard looking in the mirror now? What about after you're a criminal?"
"At least I'll be human," Muckman responded. "People won't call me a freak."
"Why are you surprised that people are calling you a freak when you are literally made out of garbage?" Unagami retorted at the new mutant's stupidityโ at least, that's how she saw it. "Who gives a damn what they think about you? This world is just filled with so many people that are gonna call you a bunch of names. You wanna know how to deal with it? Get over it and move on cause it's never going to change whenever you do the wrongโ or right thing."
Muckman stared at her, the eyeball looking with starry eyes.
"Watching you get all sappy makes me want to spew toxic puke." Bebop commented.
Before anyone could said anything, Bebop threw a flash grenade in front of them as gray smoke surrounded them, followed by a high-pitched ringing noise. At the loud noise, Boy Danger hissed sharply in pain as he covered his ears. When the ringing noise was finally over with, they all groaned as they stood up.
"You idiots can't go a day without getting your asses kicked, can't you?"
The five mutant turtles and Boy Danger turned their heads to find Unagami, who was still possessing Captain Violet, staring at them with a small glare and arms crossed over her chest.
"You know, you didn't have to step in there, right?" Eclipse questioned, rolling her eyes at the demon's words.
"And keep watching your asses get kicked?" Unagami questioned with a scoff. "You guys were embarrassing."
Michelangelo blinked as he faced his brothers and twin sister. "Did we just get roasted?"
"No, cause this fight doesn't count." Raphael said bitterly, not liking the fact that they lost this time.
"Yeah, sure, whatever you tell yourself. But in all seriousness," Unagami told them as she rolled her eyes. "Try not to get your asses or almost killed because it's getting annoying when I have to keep stepping in."
And with that, the teal blue aura around Captain Violet vanished while the demonic shadow disappeared as well, leaving her eyes to return back to their natural sapphire blue eye color.
Just like the first time, Captain Violet blinked. "Um... what happened?"
"Don't worry about it," Leonardo said. "Come on, we have to help Muckman."
He ran to the lab with the others closed behind. Right when they threw the doors to the lab open, Muckman had gotten hit by lasers while Rocksteady took the blue jar from his hands.
"Muckman!" Donatello shouted as the mutant fell.
"We got you, dude!" Michelangelo called as they ran into the lab with their weapons drawn.
Captain Violet ran to check on the new mutant with Donatello and Michelangelo while the others took care of Bebop and Rocksteady.
"Are you okay?" Captain Violet asked
"How many fingers am I holding up?" Donatello asked.
"Nine," Muckman responded.
Donatello glanced at his hand, and Michelangelo smacked it away. "It's all good, Mucky. Now just chill here for a sec. We got these guys."
"No," Muckman said, pushing himself up as the others landed in front of him. "This one's on me."
Then, Bebop and Rocksteady began to flee, Eclipse managed to throw some shurikens that hit Bebop right on the butt.
"Slime him!"
Muckman spewed his smudge at the two mutants, covering them.
The jar Rocksteady held started glowing. "Nyet, the chemical!" The blue liquid broke the jar and vanished in a puff of smoke. He and Bebop looked at the others, who readied their weaponsโ or slime, in Muckman's opinion. "You have keys for van, da?" Rocksteady tossed the jar away. "Is time we put the pedal into metal."
"Run!"
The two mutants dashed into their van, driving off.
"What are we waiting for?" Muckman asked as they put their weapons away. "Let's finish them!"
The eyeball popped out. "That problem's done with, pal. If you really want to finish this, you know what to do."
Muckman turned to them. "Look, uh, turtle men, turtle women, human teens, I know you were only trying to, uhโ"
"It's okay, Muckman," Boy Danger said. "Just know we'd never mutate someone on purpose."
"It's cool, Muckman." Michelangelo replied.
Eclipse shrugged. "Stuff happens, it's all good."
Captain Violet grinned. "Yeah, everybody makes mistakes."
Donatello chuckled. "Yeah, we've been accused of way worse things. Trust me."
"Like being child-eating mutant monsters?" Leonardo asked, staring at the news reporter from across the street. Luckily, the crowd hadn't noticed them yet as they hid behind Muckman.
"Scatter, fellas and girlies," Muckman said. "I got this."
And with that, they jumped up onto the rooftop, watching from above for a bit as Muckman talked to the reporter before heading back to the lair.

ALTHOUGH THEY HAD fixed everything, a certain mutant rat still wasn't happy with them. "So, you disobey me and leave the lair."
"No one saw us, sensei," Donatello said quickly. "We swear."
Leonardo pulled out his T-Phone, showing him the news. "Look, we fixed everything."
"Turtle mutants? Naw, no such thing. Maybe you're thinking of those kids who dress up in costumes, like the Pulverizer. Take it from me, Muckman, New York's monster hero."
"And there you have it, folks, straight from Muckman himself. The turtle mutants do not exist."
The seven teens let out small, relieved sighs while Splinter stroked his beard thoughtfully.
"See, sensei? It's all cool." Raphael said. "Nothing to worry about."
"So, that means we can watch Crognard again, right?" Michelangelo asked, pulling out his T-Phone.
Splinter threw a kunai knife at his T-Phone, breaking it. "No, you are still grounded."
Before the seven teens knew what was happening, they found themselves sprawled on the ground after getting knocked down by Splinter. April and Kaz had attempted to sneak out, only for Splinter to appear next to them, startling them.
"Yeah... that part wasn't fun, at all."
