Chapter 1: The Story Begins

We're introduced to Ruthie Tallmadge-Arbuckle, a recent widow and her sister-in-law Lottie Arbuckle.  Lottie tries to convince Ruthie to explore the Scottish Highlands with her.

Chapter 2: Castle Leoch

Ruthie and Lottie begin their Highlands adventure at the ancestral home of the Mackenzies, Castle Leoch.

Chapter 3: Little Visits

Ruthie has a visit with Stephen, at his grave. Guests Frank and Claire Randall, honeymooners, come for dinner.

Chapter 4: A Twist in Time

Lottie takes Ruthie to Craigh na Dun to watch the druids dance.  When the druids are done, Ruthie and Lottie perform their own dance leading to a twist in time.

Chapter 5: Familiar Faces

Ruthie wakes up a top Craigh na Dun only to find that Lottie isn't there.  But rather, there's a stranger that strongly resembles her dressed in odd clothing.  Then a man, resembling Frank Randall from dinner, shows up.

Chapter 6: Of Lassies and Cows

Upon realizing that Mistress Campbell wasn't shocked by her modern appearance, Ruthie tries to make her way back to her, but is intercepted by Captain Randall.  She tries to flee when a man, who was trying to steal a cow, swoops in and saves her.

Chapter 7: Finding Warmth

Ruthie attempts some quick first aid to the stranger who saved her following a skirmish.  They then continue travelling before he unceremoniously drops her to the ground before heading off into battle.

Chapter 8: Questions and Answers

Jamie is surprised to find that Ruthie didn't run off and is indeed where he left her.  He then has some questions for her and she has some for him.

Chapter 9: Return to Leoch

The group of men Ruthie has been travelling with bring her to Castle Leoch, which she had visited a few days prior (or hundreds of years later) She then meets Mrs Fitz

Chapter 10: Old Wounds

Ruthie attempts to clean and bandage Jamie's shoulder wound.  He shares the story of how he knows Captain Randall and the weight of things finally hit Ruthie.

Chapter 11: The MacKenzie

After her emotional night and good sleep, Ruthie is taken to meet The Mackenzie, the laird and chieftain of Leoch.   Ruthie knows that she is in a battle to prove her worth and trustworthiness.

Chapter 12: The Rain in Spain

Ruthie dines with the people of Leoch, where she feels put to the test.  She then goes for a walk and Jamie ends up joining her.

Chapter 13: A Woman Out of Time

With the stranger's arrival, Ruthie waits inside Leoch for Jamie's safe return.  But much to her surprise, when Jamie returns, there is a woman on his arm.

Chapter 14: Two Tales

The stories of Ruthie and Caitriona's pasts are woven together in a conversation between the two women.  Secrets are revealed and more questions are brought to light.
