Months go by and one sunny afternoon, as Mithra went about her day, her phone chimed with a message from Anushka and Athiya. Intrigued, she opened the message to find an invitation to a day of shopping and girl time.

"Hey, Mithra! How about a shopping spree this weekend? Anushka and I could really use your expert opinion on our fashion choices 😊"

Mithra couldn't help but smile at the invitation. She loved spending time with her friends, and the idea of a day filled with fashion and fun sounded like just what she needed. Without hesitation, she replied, "Count me in! Can't wait to hit the shops with you guys! 🛍️"

The weekend arrived, and Mithra met up with Anushka and Athiya at their favourite shopping district. The air was filled with excitement as they browsed through racks of clothes, trying on outfits and sharing their opinions with each other.

"This dress is so cute, but I'm not sure if it suits me," Anushka mused, holding up a flowy sundress to examine it in the mirror.

Mithra stepped closer, her eyes scanning the dress thoughtfully. "I think it looks amazing on you, Anushka!" she exclaimed, a smile lighting up her face. "The colour really complements your skin tone, and the silhouette is so flattering!"

Anushka grinned, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thanks, Mithra! You always know just what to say," she replied, her confidence boosted by Mithra's encouragement.

Meanwhile, Athiya was busy perusing a rack of blouses, her brow furrowed in concentration as she considered her options. "I'm torn between this one and that one," she said, pointing to two different tops.

Mithra joined her, examining the blouses with a critical eye. "I think the one on the left would be perfect for that upcoming event you mentioned," she suggested, gesturing to the blouse with delicate embroidery.

Athiya nodded, her expression brightening with excitement. "You're right, Mithra! I can already picture it with my favourite jeans," she said, her enthusiasm contagious.

As they sat down for dinner after a successful day of shopping, Anushka and Athiya shared a knowing glance, their eyes twinkling with mischief.

"So, Mithra," Anushka began casually, sipping her wine as she leaned in with a playful smile, "we couldn't help but notice something."

Mithra raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "What's that?" she asked, setting her fork down to give her friends her full attention.

"Well," Athiya chimed in, her tone conspiratorial, "we couldn't help but wonder if those old feelings for Shubman are still lingering around in that heart of yours."

Mithra's cheeks flushed pink at the mention of Shubman's name, her mind racing as she tried to process her emotions. She knew she couldn't deny the truth to her friends, especially after all the years they'd been there for her.

Taking a deep breath, Mithra met their gazes with honesty. "I won't lie, there's still a part of me that cares about him," she admitted, her voice soft but resolute.

Anushka and Athiya exchanged a knowing smile, their plan forming in unspoken agreement. "Well, then," Anushka said with a mischievous grin, "I think it's time we showed Shubman what he's been missing out on."

Athiya nodded eagerly, her excitement palpable. "We should host a small party," she suggested, her mind already racing with ideas. "A chance for you and Shubman to talk, and maybe, just maybe, make him a little jealous in the process."

Mithra's eyes widened in surprise at their proposal, her heart fluttering with a mix of nerves and anticipation. "Are you sure about this?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

Anushka reached out to squeeze Mithra's hand reassuringly. "Absolutely," she said firmly, her eyes sparkling with determination. "We've got your back, Mithra. And who knows? Maybe this will be the push Shubman needs to realize what he's been missing all along."

With a newfound sense of excitement and determination, Mithra nodded, her heart filled with gratitude for her supportive friends. And as they finished their dinner and began to plan their party, Mithra couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope for what the future might hold.

As the day of the party approached, Mithra found herself feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. Anushka and Athiya had spared no effort in organizing the event, transforming Anushka's spacious home into a cozy and inviting setting for their gathering.

The evening of the party arrived, and Mithra arrived at Anushka's house with a flutter of anticipation in her stomach. She was wearing a simple navy blue knee-length dress and Converse.  As she stepped through the door, she was greeted by the sight of twinkling fairy lights, fragrant candles, and the buzz of lively conversation.

Anushka and Athiya rushed over to greet her, their faces lit up with smiles. "Mithra, you look stunning!" Anushka exclaimed, enveloping her in a warm hug.

"Thank you," Mithra replied with a grateful smile, taking in the festive atmosphere of the party. "You've both done an amazing job with the decorations."

Athiya beamed at her. "We wanted everything to be perfect for you," she said earnestly, linking her arm with Mithra's as she led her further into the room.

As the party got into full swing, Mithra couldn't help but notice the subtle glances and whispered conversations that seemed to revolve around her and Shubman. She felt a flutter of anticipation in her chest, wondering what the evening might bring.

Anushka and Athiya, ever the gracious hosts, made sure to keep Mithra engaged in conversation, introducing her to their friends and ensuring she felt comfortable throughout the evening. But despite the festive atmosphere, Mithra's thoughts kept drifting back to Shubman, wondering if he would show up and what their conversation might entail.

As the night wore on, Mithra couldn't shake the feeling of nervous excitement that bubbled within her. She stole glances at the door every so often, hoping to catch a glimpse of Shubman's familiar figure.

And then, just as she was beginning to lose hope, she spotted him. Shubman stood at the doorway, his gaze scanning the room before landing on her. Their eyes met, and Mithra felt a surge of emotions wash over her - hope, anticipation, and a tinge of apprehension [ angst ].

Anushka and Athiya, sensing the tension between them, exchanged a knowing glance before discreetly excusing themselves, leaving Mithra and Shubman alone in the midst of the bustling party. As they stood face to face, the air between them crackling with unspoken words, Mithra couldn't help but wonder what the night might have in store.

As Shubman and Mithra stood facing each other amidst the lively party, a sense of anticipation hung in the air. The murmurs of the other guests seemed to fade into the background as they locked eyes, the weight of unspoken emotions hanging heavy between them.

"Mithra," Shubman began, his voice soft but filled with sincerity, "can we talk?"

Mithra's heart fluttered at his words, her own voice catching in her throat as she nodded in response. Without a word, they moved to a quieter corner of the room, away from the prying eyes and ears of the other guests.

As they settled into a more secluded spot, the tension between them was palpable. Mithra could feel her pulse quicken with each passing moment, her mind racing with a million thoughts and emotions.

Shubman took a deep breath, his eyes searching Mithra's face with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine. "I've been thinking a lot lately," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.

Mithra held her breath, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for him to continue. She could feel the weight of his words hanging in the air, a silent plea for understanding and forgiveness.

"I know I haven't always been the best friend to you," Shubman continued, his gaze never leaving hers. "I've been so caught up in my own world, my own struggles and successes, that I've neglected to see what's been right in front of me all along."

Mithra felt a lump form in her throat at his words, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. She had longed for this moment, for Shubman to acknowledge the depth of their connection and the significance of their friendship.

"I've missed you, Mithra," Shubman admitted, his voice raw with emotion. "More than words can express. And I realize now that I've been a fool to let my own insecurities and doubts come between us."

Mithra reached out to gently touch Shubman's arm, her heart swelling with a mix of love and longing. "I've missed you too, Shubman," she confessed, her voice trembling with emotion. "More than you'll ever know."

As Shubman and Mithra sat down on the stairs, the atmosphere between them shifted from tension to a sense of ease. Shubman draped his left arm casually over Mithra's shoulder, their bodies pressed close as they engaged in playful banter.

"So, do you remember that time we got lost in the maze at the amusement park?" Shubman asked with a chuckle, a fond smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Mithra grinned, the memory flooding back to her. "How could I forget? We wandered around in circles for hours, convinced we'd never find our way out!"

Their laughter echoed through the stairwell, a symphony of shared memories and inside jokes that bound them together at that moment.

Meanwhile, Athiya and Anushka watched the scene unfolding between Shubman and Mithra with knowing smiles. Leaning in close to each other, they exchanged whispered words, their eyes twinkling with mischief.

"I think it's working," Athiya whispered, a satisfied grin playing on her lips as she observed the pair on the stairs.

Anushka nodded in agreement, her gaze fixed on Shubman and Mithra. "They look so good together, don't they?" she murmured, a hint of excitement in her voice.

Back on the stairs, Shubman's playful demeanour shifted as he locked eyes with Mithra, a hint of vulnerability shining through. "Mithra," he began, his voice soft but earnest, "there's something I need to tell you."

Mithra's heart skipped a beat at the seriousness in his tone, her breath catching in her throat as she waited for him to continue.

"I like you, Mithra," Shubman confessed, his cheeks flushing with a rosy hue. "More than just a friend. I've liked you for a long time. Also I know I've made mistakes, but I want to make things right. I want to be there for you, like you've always been there for me."

Mithra's eyes widened in surprise at his confession, her own cheeks tinted with a blush as she processed his words. At that moment, the air between them crackled with anticipation, the space between them narrowing until there was only the whisper of a breath separating their lips.

"Shubman, I don't know what the future holds, but I do know one thing – I've never stopped caring about you. And I don't think I ever could," she whispered and then, without hesitation, Shubman leaned in, closing the gap between them as their lips met in a tender, heartfelt kiss. In that moment, surrounded by the warmth and love of their friends, Shubman and Mithra knew that they had finally found their way back to each other.

As Shubman and Mithra's lips met in a tender kiss, the world seemed to fade away around them. Shubman pulled Mithra closer, his arms wrapping around her as they sat together on the staircase, lost in the moment of their newfound connection.

Athiya and Anushka exchanged a triumphant grin as they watched the scene unfold, a sense of satisfaction washing over them at the success of their plan. With a shared look of victory, they broke into a small victory dance before pulling each other into a tight hug, their excitement bubbling over.

Meanwhile, Virat and KL approached their respective partners with knowing smiles, having observed the developments from a distance. Virat wrapped his arms around Anushka, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead as he whispered softly, "Looks like our plan worked, love."

Anushka beamed up at Virat, her heart filled with warmth at his words. "It certainly seems that way," she replied, leaning into his embrace with a contented sigh.

KL, too, enveloped Athiya in a loving embrace, planting a gentle kiss on her cheek. "I'm so proud of you, Athiya," he murmured, his eyes shining with pride. "You really pulled it off."

Athiya smiled up at KL, her heart swelling with gratitude for his unwavering support. "Thanks, KL," she said softly, leaning into his embrace. "But I couldn't have done it without you by my side."

As Shubman and Mithra continued to bask in the glow of their newfound connection, their bond only seemed to grow stronger with each passing moment. They remained seated on the staircase, lost in conversation and laughter, their hearts overflowing with joy and contentment.

"So, does this mean we're officially together now?" Mithra teased, a playful glint in her eyes as she looked up at Shubman.

Shubman chuckled, his gaze softening as he gazed back at her. "I think it's safe to say that we're more than just friends," he replied, his voice filled with warmth.

Mithra grinned, her heart fluttering with happiness at his words. "I like the sound of that," she admitted, leaning in closer to him.

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of laughter and chatter from the party below, reminding them that they were not alone. But in that moment, surrounded by the love and support of their friends, Shubman and Mithra felt as though they were the only two people in the world.

As the party continues, Shubman and Mithra find themselves engaged in a playful exchange, their words laced with affection. " So, do you still have that embarrassing childhood photo of me hidden away somewhere?" Shubman grins mischievously.

"Oh, you mean the one where you're wearing that ridiculous cowboy hat? Of course, I do. It's my secret weapon for blackmail," Mithra laughs.

"Hey now, be careful. I might just have to retaliate with those embarrassing videos of you attempting to dance at your cousin's wedding," He answers feigning offense.

Mithra playfully shoves Shubman's shoulder, her laughter mingling with his. "You wouldn't dare!" she whisper yells.

" Oh, wouldn't I?" he smirks leaning in closer.

Their banter fades into a comfortable silence as Shubman and Mithra's eyes meet, a silent understanding passing between them. Without a word, Shubman leans in, capturing Mithra's lips in a tender kiss, sealing their unspoken promise of love and devotion.

"I'm so glad we had this chance to talk," Shubman said softly, his eyes locked with Mithra's.

Mithra smiled, her heart overflowing with love for the man standing before her. "Me too," she replied, reaching out to take his hand in hers.

As Shubman and Mithra shared a tender moment, wrapped in each other's embrace, the sound of footsteps approaching caught their attention. Looking up, they saw Ishan approaching with a mischievous grin on his face.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Ishan teased, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he glanced between Shubman and Mithra.

Shubman chuckled, releasing Mithra from his embrace but keeping a protective arm around her as she leaned onto him. "Looks like you caught us," he admitted a playful glint in his eyes.

Mithra blushed at Ishan's teasing, but she couldn't suppress the smile that tugged at the corners of her lips. "Ishan, don't you have somewhere else to be?" she teased back, playfully nudging him with her elbow.

Ishan laughed, his laughter echoing through the quiet night air. "Touché, Mithra," he replied, raising his hands in mock surrender. "I'll leave you two lovebirds to your moment."

With a wink and a grin, Ishan turned and made his way back inside, leaving Shubman and Mithra alone once more. As they stood together in the peaceful silence of the night, wrapped in each other's warmth, they couldn't help but feel grateful for the bond they shared and the love that had brought them together.

"Looks like we're going to have to get used to this," Shubman said with a smile, squeezing Mithra's hand gently.

Mithra smiled back at him, her heart overflowing with happiness. "I wouldn't have it any other way," she replied, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his cheek.

As Shubman and Mithra enjoyed their quiet moment together, they were suddenly interrupted by Anushka and Athiya, who appeared with excited expressions on their faces. Shubman couldn't help but feel a pang of confusion as the two women pulled Mithra aside, leaving him momentarily puzzled.

"What's going on?" Shubman asked, a furrow forming on his brow as he watched them whispering to Mithra.

Anushka and Athiya exchanged a knowing glance before turning back to Shubman with mischievous grins. "Oh, nothing, Shubman," Anushka replied with a wink. "Just a little girl talk."

Shubman raised an eyebrow, but before he could press further, Anushka and Athiya pulled Mithra away from him.

"So, spill the beans, Mithra," Anushka exclaimed, unable to contain her curiosity any longer. "How was the kiss?"

Mithra's cheeks flushed with embarrassment at the question, but she couldn't help but smile at her friend's enthusiasm. "It was... amazing," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Athiya squealed with delight, clapping her hands together. "I knew it!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. "I could see the sparks flying between you two from a mile away."

Anushka nodded in agreement, her grin widening. "I'm so happy for you, Mithra," she said earnestly, reaching out to squeeze her friend's hand. "You deserve all the happiness in the world."

Mithra felt her heart swell with gratitude for her friends' unwavering support. "Thank you, both of you," she said softly, her eyes brimming with tears of joy. "I couldn't have done this without you."

As the three women shared a heartfelt embrace, Shubman watched from a distance, a smile playing on his lips. Though he hadn't been privy to their conversation, he couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and happiness knowing that Mithra was surrounded by such supportive friends.

And as they rejoined the rest of the party, Shubman made a silent vow to always be there for Mithra, to support her and cherish her just as her friends had done. For in that moment, he knew that their love was something truly special, something worth fighting for, and he would do whatever it took to make sure that Mithra knew just how much she meant to him.

As the night wore on and the party continued, Shubman found himself stealing glances at Mithra, unable to shake the feeling of warmth and affection that filled his heart whenever he looked at her. He watched as she laughed and chatted with their friends, her smile lighting up the room and filling him with a sense of contentment.

As the music played and the laughter echoed through the air, Shubman couldn't resist the urge to approach Mithra once more. Making his way through the crowd, he finally reached her side, his heart pounding with nervous anticipation.

"Hey," Shubman said softly, offering her a warm smile as he fell into step beside her.Mithra turned to him, her eyes lighting up with happiness at his presence. "Hey, yourself," she replied, returning his smile with one of her own.

They fell into easy conversation, the rest of the world fading away as they lost themselves in each other's company. Shubman found himself captivated by Mithra's every word, hanging on to her every laugh and smile as if they were the most precious things in the world.

As the night drew to a close and the guests began to say their goodbyes, Shubman felt a sense of reluctance to let Mithra go. He longed to spend more time with her, to bask in the warmth of her presence and the glow of her smile for just a little while longer.

But as they stood together amidst the fading echoes of the party, Shubman knew that their journey was only just beginning. With Mithra by his side, he felt as though anything was possible, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.

With a tender smile and a gentle squeeze of her hand, Shubman whispered softly to Mithra, "Thank you for tonight. For everything."

Mithra's eyes sparkled with emotion as she returned his gaze, her heart overflowing with love for the man standing before her. "Thank you," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "For being you."

As the last guests bid their farewells and the echoes of laughter faded into the night, Shubman and Mithra found themselves lingering at the doorstep, reluctant to part ways. The air was filled with a sense of warmth and intimacy, a lingering reminder of the magical evening they had shared together.

Shubman glanced at Mithra, his heart filled with a mix of emotions as he realized how much he didn't want the night to end. "I can walk you to your car if you'd like," he offered, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

Mithra nodded, her own smile mirroring his. "I'd like that," she replied softly, her heart fluttering with excitement at the prospect of spending a few more moments alone with him.

As they made their way to the parking lot, the night air was cool and crisp, the sky dotted with stars twinkling overhead. The gentle hum of conversation from the party drifted on the breeze, a reminder of the memories they had shared together.

Shubman walked beside Mithra, their steps in sync as they walked in comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Despite the quiet, there was a sense of connection between them, a silent understanding that spoke volumes without the need for words.

As they reached Mithra's car, Shubman came to a stop, turning to face her with a soft smile. "I had a really great time tonight," he said sincerely, his eyes meeting hers with warmth and affection.

Mithra smiled back at him, her heart swelling with happiness at his words. "Me too," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you for everything, Shubman."

Their eyes locked, a silent exchange passing between them as they stood in the glow of the streetlights. In that moment, it felt as though the world had slowed to a standstill, leaving only the two of them and the promise of what lay ahead.

With a gentle nod, Shubman leaned in closer, his hand reaching out to brush a stray lock of hair from Mithra's face. Their breath mingled in the cool night air, anticipation building between them as they inched closer together.

And then, with a soft sigh, their lips met in a tender kiss, sealing their newfound connection with a promise of hope and possibility.

As their lips parted, a sense of bliss enveloped Shubman and Mithra, the world around them fading into the background as they savoured the moment. The gentle hum of the night seemed to echo their shared sentiment, a melody of possibility and newfound love.

"I'll see you soon?" Shubman whispered, his voice barely audible above the gentle rustle of the evening breeze.

Mithra nodded, her heart still racing from the intimacy of their kiss. "Definitely," she replied, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

With one final lingering look, Shubman reluctantly stepped back, allowing Mithra to open the door of her car. As she slid into the driver's seat, Shubman lingered by her side, a sense of reluctance tugging at his heartstrings.

"Drive safe," he said softly, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. Mithra smiled up at him, her heart swelling with affection. "I will," she promised, her gaze lingering on his as if unwilling to tear herself away.

With one last lingering glance, Shubman watched as Mithra started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot, disappearing into the night. Left alone in the quiet stillness, he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing, already counting down the moments until he could see her again.

As he made his way to his car, the echoes of their shared moments lingered in his mind, filling him with a sense of warmth and contentment. And as he crashed onto his bed at his place and drifted off to sleep that night, Shubman knew that he had found something truly special in Mithra, something worth holding onto with all his heart.
