001:Devoting

Callista stood between her parents as they greeted their arriving guests and there she was, politely smiling and talking to each and every one of her guests as they compliment the young heir on her beauty.

But as time passes Callista grew bored and though it doesn't show on her face, all she wished is for the arrival of her best friend Regulus and his brother Sirius.

"Are they here yet?"Callista asked, not particulary mentioning anyone but her parents knew who is she talking about.

"No dear,"Apricot whispered to her daughter as another person came up to them.

Callista grew up with them since her parents are friends with their parents, and they find it suitable for their kids to grew up close to each other, close with their own kind: well known, powerful, purebloods.

But even though Callista is the same age as Sirius, her being a couple months younger, she is much more closer with Regulus since Sirius started to kept to himself as they grew, or maybe he just doesn't like her? She hopes not.

In the past years that she has known the two, Callista cannot deny that she grew a little crush on the heir of the noble house of Black, maybe more than a little, but she would not admit that to anyone, not even to Regulus.

Though maybe he already knows, since how obvious the girl was, when her out going personality folding to a shy,sweet doe-eyed looking one when the eldest of the Black's appear.

"Walburga!Orion!--Good evening, I'm glad you made it,"The voice of her father,Hugo Rosethorn, pulls her out of her thoughts as she looks up to see the Walburga, Orion, Regulus, and soon her eyes landed to Sirius.

Soon her parents forgot the kids were there as Hugo and Apricot, pulled Walburga and Orion to the side, now too engrossed on their grown-up conversation, leaving the kids to themselves.

"Reggie!"Callista exclaims happily as she wraps her arms around the smaller boy, and Regulus lets out an excited "Callie!", before they pull back as she looks at the other Black.

"Hello Sirius,"Callista smiled as Sirius nods softly before letting out a soft smile, and he opens his arms as Callista lets out a grin before engulfing him with a hug, her arms around his waist as she felt her heart jump in excitement.

She then pulls away from him, now being able to observe him, a small pinch of pink appears on her cheeks while Regulus playfully rolled his eyes at her antics.

"Are the others around yet?"Regulus spoke up first as Callista turns her attention to him before nodding, she knows he was talking about the others like the Malfoys, Lestranges, etc.

"Well lets go then,"Regulus motioned for them to go as Callista glanced at Sirius.

"Care to join us Siri?"She asked as Sirius smiled before shooking his head no, and soon a frown appeared on Callista's face but she just nodded before letting Regulus dragged him away.

Callista knew it was stupid to play hide and seek at night, it was stupid to play hide and seek right outside of the manor in the back, stupid to play near the lake, it was so stupid.

But how could she decline the other kids when she is the host?So now here she was, walking around the garden because the others shoo'd her away, reasoning that they can't hide in the same place.

Callista then watched as everyone finds a hiding place, and she nervously listens as Regulus continued to count backwards and the numbers get nearer to 0 as each second passes.

Not knowing where to go she run up a large tree at the edge of the lake, trying to squeeze in her small body in the carved inside of the tree, she sat there in the darkness waiting for Regulus to reach zero.

Eventually he did and Callista listened very carefully as Regulus finds the others one by one, determined not to be caught, her breathe hitched as she hears him a few feet away behind the tree she was hiding from, but she then lets out a sigh as she hears him walking away.

She then stayed there till she hears everyone else except her has been caught, she heard some of them calling out for her in the distance, so she steps out of the carved tree to hopefully catch the others off guard.

But she was the one caught off guard, when while trying to step over the veins of the tree, her left ankle wobbles to the side.

Not being able to grab anything as she lost balance, her eyes widens as she falls backwards, and soon Callista felt the cold water engulfs her in.

Her hearts rams on her chest as she desperately flail her legs to try and find somewhere she can step but all it kicked was space, while her arms flail infront of her in desperate hopes to grab anything or maybe catch someone's attention.

But all of her actions led to nowhere as it only made her sink further more under, if she's crying she doesn't know, she couldn't feel the tears nor see anything because of how dark it has become.

And soon she became tired, as she felt herself going deeper, oh what a tragic ending this is, when earlier she just received her Hogwarts letter, and wondered about the next stage of her life, now she thinks she wouldn't even be able to start it.

Soon when she was about to close her eyes, Callista wonders if she's hallucinating as she watched a figure swims towards her, a figure with a face of an angel, she thought.

Meanwhile above the waters, the others grew impatient and scared as time passes that they weren't able to find Callista.

After another second, Regulus had enough as he ran inside the manor, near the ballroom as he caught sight of his brother Sirius.

Running up to him Sirius then patiently waits as Regulus catches his breathe, "Sirius--help, we were playing hide and seek--by the lake,--I found most of them, but I can't find Callie,"

Within a second, Sirius' eyes then widens as both Black brothers ran back to where Regulus came from, the other kids were still calling out for Callista, their cousin Andromeda was now starting to tear up in nervousness.

"Maybe she got inside already?"Narcissa hopefully speaks up while Sirius then started looking around near the trees and edge of lake as Regulus followed his steps.

He then stops on his tracks as he sees little ripples on the water and small fading bubbles floating on the top, Sirius then squints to try and see better and his eyes widens when he sees a figure in the water.

And without second thoughts Sirius jumps in the water making Regulus' eyes widen as he calls out for Sirius, catching the other kids attention as they all now wait for Sirius to get out of the water.

But their eyes widened more as the surface of the water breaks and Sirius's arm holds Callista as he swims near land, Barty, one of Regulus' friends, helped pull Callista out of the water.

"Callie!"Regulus calls out for her, trying to shake her awake, as Sirius kneels on the other side of Callista.

"Callie!"Sirius yells out to her as he leans his ear on her chest to look for a heartbeat, meanwhile Narcissa already ran inside the house in hopes of finding the Rosethorns' as soon as possible.

Callista can't remember much of what happened that night, but everyone was just glad she was safe, her parents' don't even know how to start toshow their gratitude to the eldest son of the Black's for saving their daughter.

So now, a week later, the Rosethorns stood inside the Black household for their annual dinner get together.

"Good to see that you're alright dear," Walburga stated as Callista smiled at her before the adults once again fall into a conversation and they start their walk towards the dining room.

Meanwhile Callista walked behind them when she suddenly stopped at a doorway that leads to the living room when her eyes caught a figure sitting in the corner.

"Hello Sirius,"She spoke up as Sirius looks up to find her there, and a small smile appears on his face as he stands up, adjusting his clothes.

"Callie," he nods

"Good to see that you're okay now," he stated as he walks up to her

"Thank you Siri, I don't even know how to start showing my gratitude," Callista looks down at her hands

"No need to," Sirius casually shruggs as Callista nodded before smiling

"Who knows, maybe I will pay you back, and save your life in the future," Callista states teasingly as Sirius rolled his eyes playfully

"I hope not, why don't we go now huh?" Sirius changed the subject as he placed a hand on her upper back before leading her out of the room towards the dining area where the others are waiting.

And he may not know it by now, but Callista has already unconciously start to devote her life to him, hopelessly might I say, the question is, would he too?

A bit short, but I just want to show a hint of their relationships, and I don't usually write soft/naive Y/n or OCs but I sometimes kinda like reading them so🤷‍♀️
