plot: reader is the daughter of Kris Jenner and becomes a wrestler. she's a former Divas and Raw & Smackdown Women's Champion and requests to be sent back to NXT after she recovers from neck injury so she could take it easy. reader retains title at TakeOver 36 but after her match, on old enemy of hers makes her debut

Y/N let out a groan of pain when Dakota Kai kicked her in the face, getting her face sent into the turnbuckle. Dakota immediately went for a pin but Raquel Gonzalez broke up the pin before it could hit a two count. As much as Y/N wanted to focus on the match it was hard to when she was told someone from NXT UK would be making their debut after the match. She was praying that it would be anyone but Kay Lee Ray. The last thing she wanted was to confront her ex fiancé. They broke up in 2020 soon after the the pandemic hit and due to them being on different brands and different countries they couldn't make it work.

Y/N didn't want it to end but it was for the best. They were already going through troubles with the long distance before the pandemic even hit. The pandemic was just a reality check to their relationship. Y/N shook her head getting her focus back onto the match. Raquel threw Dakota out of the ring and then pulled up Y/N for a Chingona bomb but Y/N shoved her into the ropes and hit her with a superkick. As Raquel was out on the mat, Dakota slid in hoping for a pin attempt but she was hit with a superkick as well. Y/N laid Dakota's body next to Raquels and climbed to the top rope.

Y/N then performed a Phoenix splash onto both women, hooking their legs and letting go when she heard the three count and the bell. "And still! Your NXT Women's Champion! Y/N Jenner!" Y/N was held her title and she let out a relieved breath. She really wanted Dakota to win instead of herself but the bosses wanted her to retain so she had no choice but to do so. They played her music and she still sat on her knees, breathing heavily after that extremely incredible match. After they finished the replay package, Y/N stood to her feet and raised her title, still clutching at her abdomen.

But as she raised her title the lights dimmed and began flashing. Y/N furrowed her brows but then, she heard the music. That music that she thought she'd never hear again. Y/N always assumed by time Kay Lee got to NXT, she would already have left the company or went back onto the main roster. Y/N licked her lips slowly, turning to look at the stage where Kay Lee Ray made her way out and grinned at Y/N as if they weren't literally engaged two years ago. Y/N clenched her jaw and slowly blinked at the burgundy haired Scottish woman. Kay Lee did her usual little taunt and grinned as the crowd chanted her name loudly.

Y/N was secretly happy that they knew who she was because she definitely deserved the cheers. But now was definitely not the time to feel any sort of happiness for the woman. The minute Y/N got backstage in the gorilla she looked directly at Triple H and Shawn Michaels. "Out of all people, it had to be her. The least you could've done was give me a warning. Like I don't know say 'hey y/n, your ex fiancé is gonna debut after your match don't freak out'. Because right now, I'm losing my shit! This is so unacceptable. Oh my god I need a drink," Y/N stormed out, leaving everyone speechless.

She definitely must've been going crazy because she didn't even notice Kay Lee had literally standing next to Triple H the entire time. "Don't worry she'll cool off," Kayleigh said. Y/N immediately changed out of her gear and into some comfortable clothes before sitting down on the couch in her private locker room and watching the rest of the show. It was considered disrespectful if you left the show before all the matches were done unless you had a serious excuse so Y/N never left until after the last match. The main event would be Karrion Kross (C) vs Samoa Joe (his return match) for the NXT Championship. Right now the match on was Ilja Dragonov vs Walter (currently known as Gunther) for the NXT UK Championship.

Y/N sighed realizing she was gonna be there for a while. Her phone suddenly rang, causing her to pick it up and answer it seeing it was her mom Kris Jenner. "Hello?" Y/N answered. "How are you doing? We just finished watching your match and what happened after it specifically," Kris said. The whole family knew about what happened, you could never keep secrets in that family. And they knew Y/N would probably be fuming about the situation. "Before I say anything, is there any cameras around?" Y/N asked.

Y/N literally hated filming the show which was why she was hardly apart of it. Y/N had always kept her relationships out of the media and it was gonna stay that way because she liked her privacy. The show and media have yet to find out that she was ever engaged. Only her friends and family knew and they kept it a secret. "No we're not filming today don't worry," Kris responded. "Y/N you two just need to kiss and make up! Or fuck, whatever works for ya!" Khloe laughed. Y/N rolled her eyes wishing she could flip off Khloe. "Khloe shush she's dealing with a lot," Kris said.

"I don't know mom it doesn't seem like a big deal to everyone but me. I feel like the least they could've done was give me a heads up," Y/N said. "I thought they did though," Kourtney said. "No they just told me someone from NXT UK would show up not her," Y/N responded and Kourtney hummed. "But didn't Kayleigh just lose her title in the UK? Wouldn't that mean they would bring her up to the next brand?" Kris asked, still not sure how the entire thing worked but she was learning for her daughter. "Well yeah but there is so many women in the UK that could've been called up, it's long overdue. Like Jinny, Xia, Isla, a lot of women. I just didn't think it would be her of all people," Y/N said.

"Well now what are you gonna do?" Kris asked.

"I don't know mom. I can't just go and talk to her. I broke up with her and she doesn't seem to be very affected by it like I clearly am. Maybe she wanted to break up and I just helped her with it," Y/N said. She didn't really want to believe what she was saying but part of her kinda believed it. "Wait, you don't really believe that do you?!" Khloe butted in, obviously feeling like maybe Y/N was just saying these things to try and make herself feel better about the situation. "I don't know-" Y/N started but paused hearing Kendall snatch the phone from Kris.

"Okay you know what? We will talk about this tomorrow when you fly in. For now, you better go and talk to her, I don't care if it's even just two words. Bye Y/N!" Kendall said, then hung up, not giving Y/N a chance to respond. Y/N blinked at her audacity and groaned, going to put her phone down until it went off again.

Y/N froze hearing the knock on the door and her eyes widened. "I'm gonna kill Dakota, I'm gonna kill her," Y/N muttered, knowing Kota told Kayleigh where she was. Y/N shook her head and just chose to ignore her and maybe she'd go away. "I can hear the television on! I'm not going away so open the door!" Y/N cursed under her breath and slowly began to make her way to the door. She took a breath before opening it and pursing her lips at Kayleigh who stood there with a small smile. "What do you want?" Y/N asked, trying to act cold towards Kayleigh who stood there unfazed by her behavior.

"Can I come in?" Kayleigh asked. "Uhhhh....no you cannot come in," Y/N said, standing her ground and Kayleigh almost wanted to burst out laughing at that. Y/N almost never could be serious around Kayleigh. "Okay then. That's understandable but I feel like you're acting very immature." Y/N gaped and let out a scoff, "Oh I'm the immature one? You're the one who showed up after my match without uttering a fucking word to me! This is bullshit. You know know on other circumstances I would probably kiss you right now but just looking at you makes me so mad that we let a stupid fucking pandemic break us up but you're probably happy about that!" Y/N ranted.

Kayleigh went to speak but Y/N spoke, cutting her off. "No no no, you know just because my family is like internet royalty doesn't mean I'm anything like them. I'm not gonna get married after a week or change my fucking face just because someone wants me to. Or, or break up because the media is to damn invasive. I kept our relationship a secret, I did everything to make this work and it's bullshit-" Y/N was suddenly cut off when Kayleigh's lips were on hers. Y/N couldn't stop herself from kissing back, it just felt so right. Y/N pulled away first for breath and backed up, "Did you just kiss me to shut up or because you missed me?"

Kayleigh smiled, "A little bit of both."

Y/N smiled and looked down awkwardly, "Did you wanna maybe grab dinner later and catch up?" She asked. "Yes, I would love that," Kayleigh said. Y/N smiled in relief and went to kiss Kayleigh again but paused, "Uh can I kiss you again?" Kayleigh chuckled and didn't say anything but lean in and kiss Y/N. Slightly pushing her back into the room, "Is that a ring on your finger?" Y/N mumbled agaisnt Kayleigh's lips, feeling a ring when Kayleigh's hand went on her waist.

"Yeah, I never took it off," Kayleigh replied, causing a smile to grow on Y/N's face.
