Chapter 12
"𝗪𝗘 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 totally go shopping with Millie today !" Beatrice suggested enthusiastically. I happily nodded, excited by the idea. I would gladly get out of that house if I could.
Just then, Steven passed by.
"No you can't, I already told you you can't go out anymore. If you go, the paparazzi would follow you and ask you questions and honestly, I want the movie to be a surprise."
"Wow Steven, you really are a buzzkill." I rolled my eyes as I got up to make myself a sandwich.
As I opened the fridge to get the peanut butter jar, I heard someone else coming into the kitchen.
Ty (Consiglio). But he was talking to someone, probably on the phone. Because I didn't hear someone else coming in with him. I, however, heard him say the name 'Marlon' so I assumed he was talking to Marlon Kadazi, his and Gabriel's former co-star.
"Anyway, how is it going with..er, Jessica ?" Ty asked, pausing at the girl's name as if trying to remember her name.
"It's not going well. She, uh, refused to go out with me." Marlon replied awkwardly.
"Aw, so sorry bro. You know what to do, right ?"
"Yes, yes. I know, keep trying."
At that moment, like the feminist I was, I had to say something. I looked up towards Ty's direction, to see him FaceTiming his friend. Cool with me.
"Okay, Ty, excuse me for a second." I asked. He nodded awkwardly, and made room for me.
"Hi, I'm Mal ! Now, I want to tell you that I accidentally listened to your conversation. No girl ever wants you to chase after her even after she told you 'no'. You should respect her decision." I spoke, low-key irritated. Why don't boys ever take no for an answer ?
Marlon stared at me, slightly taken-aback by my advice. I'm assuming no one had ever told him that before.
"I didn't know that- Sorry, I just thought girls like it when boys chase after them."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "You wouldn't like it if a girl's chasing after you and forcing you to date her."
He paused for a moment, trying to think. "Okay, I'll do that. Thanks for telling me."
I smiled at them, then left to make my sandwich.
. . .
"I made everyone sandwiches to make it up to you all since you all hate me for telling you not to leave. Apparently I'm such a bad person for wanting my movie to be a secret." Steven spoke sarcastically, sitting down on the huge dining room table.
I glanced down at my sandwich in hesitation, as I reached for the bread to move it so I can see what was inside.
"Um, did you use pig meat, by any chance ?" I asked, slightly uncomfortable.
"Yes, why ?" He answered idiotically, which caused me to roll my eyes. Typical.
"Muslims don't eat pig meat. How on earth did you not know that ?" Gabriel answered, slightly irritated. I, on the other hand, was a little bit annoyed, but I didn't complain.
"I didn't know that." Noah said suddenly, making me roll my eyes again.
"I didn't know that either. Sorry Mal, I don't mean any disrespect." The director apologized. I gave him a side smile.
"Are you going to eat that ?" Levi asked, gobbling the last bite of his sandwich.
I passed my plate over to him, then got up.
"I'm not that hungry anyway."
