The Going Merry was on a steady course sailing across the blue ocean, sun shinning brightly down on the crew, dolphins calling from within the water swimming near them as they appeared above the surface, before disappearing back under it.

Usopp was stationed at the steering wheel rudder with his hands placed onto it, and listened to Buggy who was perched on top of a barrel directing them, "But you said five degrees starboard."

"Yeah, it's the other starboard, captain shit-tastic." Buggy corrected and also insulted the male, his head turned away from Usopp who now looked offended.

"I thought clows were supposed to be funny." The snipper murmured to himself, and narrowed his gaze down on something in front of him out at sea, still moving the rudder around to the direction.

"What was that?" Buggy exclaimed, trying to move his head around to Usopp on the barrel, which he did successfully and glared, "Why don't you say it to my face?"

Usopp just whistled to himself like nothing happened not buying into Buggy's ways, as the clown's attention gets taken away by (Y/N) and Zoro. She had an arm wrapped around his forearm, as he lead them around the ship stairs up to the upper deck.

"Hey! Morning, Fox girl! Champ!" He greeted cheerily laughing, gaining a small wave from her and a deadpanning expression from Zoro, who pulled her body to his side closer.

The swordsman walked up the few stairs with his free hand resting on his one sword, while the other was trapped under her arm, "I know the siblings made a deal with you to find Arlong, clown," He got dangerously closer to the male, making sure the girl was behind him now, "but if this is another trick-"

"What are you gonna do? Bleed on me?" Buggy retorted with attitude mockingly, flashing his teeth as he laughs loudly and it made (Y/N) narrow her eyes on him in warning for him to stop teasing Zoro.

Zoro's expression shifted from its stoic one to a softer look when he glanced down at his captain, fingers brushing up against her bare arm, "Stay here for a second." He rasped his order giving her no time to respond, as he strides forward to pick up Buggy's head from the barrel.

"Whoa! Whoa! Wait!" The clown was rapidly exclaiming protests now stopping his laugher, as Zoro was walking back towards over to the railing, "Because I said bleed on me? You can bleed on me if you want." He ranted nervously now hanging off the side, "I mean, a deal's a deal, all right? You want your map back. I want my body."

(Y/N) and Usopp shared an amused grin, watching the swordsman threatened to drop the clown into the water.  She gives Usopp a chirpy goodbye, before speeding, more like tripping off down to where Luffy and Sanji was.

"How do we know you're not leading us to a trap?" Zoro interrupted over Buggy's protest, hand holding his head over the Merry's railings, and tempted to drop him into the rushing waves.

"Zoro, buddy! Honor amongst pirates, right?" Buggy claimed still nervous, trying to glance back at the male who literaly had his life in his hands, "Come on. How about I sing a nice sea shanty to pass the time. Oh, there once was a girl with tangerine hair-"

Zoro rolled his eyes at the clown's annoying behaviour, pulling back his head from over the railing as he walked back to the barrel, while Buggy still sang the so called sea shanty, "Stole my map and left me stranded somewhere. Truly a crafty and crooked young lass-"

Usopp went up to the barrel seeing his friend was back with the singing clown, picking up the top of the wood as he held it up for Zoro, "But you can't deny her (H/C) haired friend has a spectacular pow-"

Before Buggy could finish his sea shanty the green haired man threw him roughly into the barrel, and silenced him now, which had the clown complaining about his nose getting hurt from the fall.

Zoro also kicked the side of the barrel hearing the clown's words about the woman he cared a lot for, a murderous glint in his eyes staring down at the pirate inside of the wood.

"Be careful with your words when talking about my captain, asshole." He threatened in a deeper octave, gaining a panicked noise from Buggy who instantly shut up even more.

Back down near the lower deck of the Going Merry, the siblings were next to the edge of the ship with Sanji, and were both watching him closely as he fished. Instead of staying next to him though, (Y/N) popped up in the space between his arms and the railing, wanting to actually learn how to fish with a rod.

Her back was flushed against his muscular chest, placing the handle of the rod in her hands, and had his much larger hands gently over hers, guiding her from time to time when there was a tug on the line.

"Have you used one of these before, belle?" He asked softly in his thick accent, voice whispering against her ear as he bent his head to beside hers, and ran his ringed finger along the back of her hand slowly.

She felt a shiver travel down her spine at his touch, the coldness his ring felt on her skin and hearing his voice so close, "Uh- no, not really..." She squeaked in a whisper back, keeping her gaze ahead instead of up to him as she was internally panicking to herself.

He chuckled a bit cutely at her shyness he made her experience, taking a bit pride in that as he lifts his head back up over hers on his chest, "Don't worry, love." He reassured flirtatiously, and slipped his left fingers between hers on the rod, "I'll teach you easily, and privately."

I'm dying, like officially died- she thought to herself screeching, body feeling hot in embarrassment she tipped her head back up to him, and sent him a closed eye, shy smile in thanks, "I'll hold you to that, Sanji!"

He grinned a bit flustered back at her showing off his dimples, not surprised she didn't get his suggestive comment. His bangs falling over his left eye that had her almost wanting to push them back away.

Though she instead grabbed the fishing rod, slipping out of his hold now and happily began to fish beside him next to a distracted Luffy looking down at the water.

Sanji blinked rapidly a bit shocked, before chuckling to himself fondly seeing how quickly she moved, and took over the fishing from him. He now panicked at her almost tipping over the railing edge, and placed an arm around her waist to keep her up straight, as she giggled nervously in thanks once more holding the rod handle.

"Does it always take this long?" Luffy huffed out impatiently, a frown creased over his features as he fiddled with the bracelet his sister gave him, and continued to gaze down at the blue waves.

"We've only been here two minutes. Be patient." Sanji laughed amused at the males words, warm hand running up and down (Y/N)'s side mindless watching her side profile fishing between them, "Some days, they bite as soon as you drop the line, and some days, it takes hours. And then there are days when you don't catch anything at all."

He diverted his eyes from the girl who had her tongue poking out a little in concentration, which had his lips making a soft smile, "But we're not taking about fishing, are we?"

Luffy also had a knowing smile across his face now moving his attention back to the cook, glancing at his happy sister fishing with him, and sighed heavily.

"I just want to know of Nami's okay." He mumbled quietly, stomach twisting remembering the expression on (Y/N)'s face when Nami left them, "My sister needs that clarity more than me though."

"A beautiful, talented woman does not choose to ally herself with a pirate like Arlong," Sanji remarks crossing his arms onto the railing, as his words had the other girl paying attention now closely, "Nami needs to be recused."

(Y/N) shuffled a bit uncomfortably in her spot hearing him talking about Nami like that, completely agreeing with him about the orange head, but yet it still left a weird ache in her chest. One that had her hat covering her eyes away from view, and gripping the rod a bit tighter.

Another familiar figure comes up beside her closely spotting the state she was in, which had Sanji's face shifting into a scowl at Zoro being next to (Y/N) also, "Her tattoo says different." He grunted to the cook, not sparing him a gaze as his dark eyes were on his captain.

"Well, tattoos don't tell the whole story." Sanji retorted scrunching his nose up at the swordsman, and narrowed his eyes seeing Zoro's fingers touching their captains skin, "And like any woman, she's mystery to be unraveled."

Why does that make him sound like a womaniser?, the Monkey D. girl though to herself confused, another ache shooting through her heart that had her eyebrows furrowing, and pressing her side against Zoro's carefully to not hurt his wounds more.

"Nami made her choice." The green haired male stated now turning to face the cook, his arm now wrapped loosely around his captains waist sensing she was uncomfortable, and glared a bit at Sanji knowing it was his doing.

He eyes the other male's figure off in a judgemental way, pushing himself off the railing to face his side near (Y/N)'s body now also, as she was trapped in between the taller two, "You don't know why."

"The only thing I want to hear from you are dinner specials." Zoro voiced monotonal in challenge, face scrunching up in annoyance at Sanji sneering, "You don't know Nami, nor (Y/N) ero-cook."

She shrinks in on herself hearing her name being mentioned in the bickering, internally groaning running her free hand down her forehead, and mumbled a bit exhausted, "Boys, please stop-"

Sanji just laughed through his teeth arrogantly not finding Zoro amusing, jaw clenching tightly as he matched the swordsman's scowling, "Sounds like you don't know either, moss-head."

Having enough of their arguing over her head back and forth, she lifted up both arms to elbow them in their sides causing the males to jolt in pain, and looked down at her surprised, also a bit flustered.

"Enough! I'm sure Nami has her reasons." She snapped giving the boys scolding stares, giving Sanji the fishing rod, as they back down now following the order but still glared over her head at no another.

Luffy nodded his head in agreement watching them interact quietly, finding it amusing he took his sisters hand in his, and gave a firm squeeze, "Whatever choice she makes... we just need to hear it for ourselves."

"Land ho!" Usopp suddenly exclaimed from up top next to the steering wheel, hand cupped over his mouth to announce which had them looking, and following where he was pointing to. The crew was slowly approaching the Conomi Islands, Nami's hometown and where she was.

..........

The Straw Hats now disembarked the Going Merry at the docks of the island, getting off the ship to stroll down the destroyed streets of the small village inside, which was in pieces and to eerily quiet for their liking. Something felt off there, and the group could all sense it when they set foot onto the ground below them.

(Y/N) and Luffy was in front of the crew leading them wearing their straw hats, with Zoro and Sanji on either side of her as they kept on guard, and glanced around at the chaotic village in shambles.

She gripped her brothers hand in hers more tighter now spotting a house that was completely flipped upside down, her heart clenching for the people that were suffering living here. She hated how so much of that happened around the world, it wasn't fair whatsoever.

"Never seen that before." Zoro commented in a mention, observing the small hut that was upside sitting on the ground, and subconsciously moved himself closer to his captain beside him.

Sanji hummed lowly to himself in thought also looking at the mess, blue eyes narrowed down confused carrying the bag Buggy's head was in, "What could have done this?"

The group stopped in front of the destroyed hut to gather around it, wondering who could of done that to the house as it wasn't normal. Though the siblings knew who had the strength to do so, and it had their blood boiling at the fact alone.

"Maybe I should head back, make sure the Merry's secure." Usopp spoke up behind them shakily, sliding his body to stand behind (Y/N)'s and used one hand to grip the back of her shirt, fearing for what was to come.

She chuckled softly turning her head back a little to give him an reassuring smile, before looking towards the broken hut in anger, "Arlong, that fish head did this." She grunted through gritted teeth, gaining small worried glances from the males next to her.

"Hey, Fox girl! I think we can all agree that Arlong's a bad fish." Buggy called out from inside the bag over Sanji's shoulder, it being muffled from the material as they all turn to listen, "But why don't we quit lollygagging and get my body back?"

"Pipe down in there." Sanji raised his voice ordering with his thick accent, gaze burning into the bag around his shoulder before back up to his captain now watching the bag closely.

"Or what? You gonna whip me up a souffle?" The clown sneered back mockingly, gaining a scowl from Sanji who's lips went into a straight line, and slipped off the bag from his shoulders to hand to Usopp.

Instead of the snipper taking it (Y/N) swiped the bag from Sanji into one hand, shaking it around making Buggy groan out annoyed. Facing her back to the interested crew watching, she held up palm to make a flame of fire appear on it, and daringly placed it just under the bag.

"Keep insulting my cook and see what happens," She began her threat with a demonic grin, moving her flame up more to the bag which made Buggy screech in protest, "you do want a head with your body, no?"

From a little bit behind watching the scene, the group all had different reactions to seeing this sadistic side to the normal sunshine girl. Usopp was deadpanning a bit amused, Luffy was grinning proudly like normal, while Zoro smirked gleefully finding her even more attractive, and Sanji was trying not to blush at her saying he was her cook, as a dangerous glint glazed over in his eyes.

"Remind me to never make her mad." Usopp whispered to the boys all standing in a line beside him, hand cupping the side of his face so she didn't hear, "She's pretty scary when she wants to be."

"Noted." The swordsman and cook both mumbled back in agreement, which had the two sending side glares to each other growling. Luffy just laughed loudly placing his hand on his hips, and waited for his sister to come back.

Once she was finished threating the clown who was now sulking in the bag, she waved away the flame in her palm and held onto the trap skipping over to the group, "Right! Let's go save Nami!" She chirped grinning brightly and started walked off towards the village.

"Oh woah, back to normal." Zoro and Sanji but deadpanned once again in sync, causing the two to butt heads sending each other daggers growling. Usopp bonked their heads to stop them from fighting, and pulled them with Luffy towards the girl who stopped near the end of the path.

(Y/N) was swinging around the bag around her fingers mindlessly waiting for the crew to catch up, as she heard their footsteps come up behind and beside her. Seeing the object still in her grasp, Sanji gently caught her wrist in his hold, earning a small gasp from her turning her head up to him confused.

His mouth shifted from its scowling one into a charming grin, running his fingers sensationally along her skin before softly taking the bag from her rasping, "Don't bore yourself with this. I'll carry it, jolie."

She tilted her head to the side hearing another unfamiliar nickname that flowed through his accent, pulling back her hand to her side, and nevertheless smiled sweetly gratefully, "Thanks, Sanji!"

He smirked a bit giddy to himself once he pulled back from her, tugging on his suits collars giving Zoro a smug glance seeing how he was scowling at their scene, and grumbled an insult to the cook who smirked wider.

"Everyone! Please!" An unfamiliar voice shouts out to the crowd of villages, his name being Genzo talking as the overlapping chatter continued on, "Please, everyone. We don't have much time, and we're short again this month."

The Straw Hat pirates gathered around a few meters away from the commotion in the middle of the town, all listening carefully to what was happening, and stood a bit side by side like usually.

A few of the villagers were placing their money into a tiny box that Genzo carried with him, "Is it enough?" One of the males questioned warily, placing in everything he had for the money supply, and gained a head shake in denial.

"Do we have time to get some more?" A woman asked near the front of the group with her husband, who was carrying their baby to his chest, as she was interrupted by another familiar voice this time.

"No. You don't." The crowd all turned in snyc to make way for Nami who stood there, arms crossed over her chest wearing a sleeves shirt. She wore no expression on her face, walking through the villages who began to whisper amongst themselves, or would glare at the woman who betrayed them.

Her (E/C) eyes went wide spotting their navigator in the crowd, a joyful smile appearing also seeing the bracelet she gave Nami still on her wrist. Going to take a step forward, Zoro's hand was quick to place on her lower stomach stopping her mid way.

She made a small confused noise feeling his warmth suddenly on her body, peeking up at him through her hats brim. He gently shakes his head, and pulls her back by the waist beside him in between Sanji, as the cook gripped her wrist now softly as well to keep her there.

Nami's adopted sister, Noijko stood beside Genzo staring at the orange haired with a scowl, and spat near her to show hatred for her, before leaving. Even as this happened, Nami never broke her facade, relying on the bracelet around her wrist for support right now.

The Moneky. D girl hummed to herself curiously watching this happen, seeing how the blue haired woman wasn't afraid of Nami like the others, and followed her figure where she walked off to. Not like the captain could go after, as she had Zoro's body standing sideways and Sanji also blocking both sides of her body.

"Got something for me?" Nami spoke to Genzo in question, the male she's known since childhood that stared back at her sadly, his face having sword scars from the battle years back with Arlong.

The sheriff extended to wooden chest to her hearing the money rattled inside, and she took it from him into her grasp, "You're short." She claimed taking a glance inside it, and back up to the male dangerously.

"Nami, please. This is all we have." Genzo retorted in a desperate plead, the villagers now disappearing back to their huts knowing this conversation was over, "Arlong has bled us dry."

"Then find more blood." She responded through her teeth seriously, making the male shuffle in spot with his head downwards, and went to walk away also leaving her alone.

Holding the wooden chest in one arm against her side, Nami turned around feeling stares on her back, and spotted her friends standing a few meters away. She immediately approached them now, "(Y/N)? What are you doing here?" She spoke sharply as the said girl came up to meet her in the middle, with her brother and the other three lingered behind her a bit back.

"I could ask you the same thing." The taller girl answered back glancing down at Nami through the hat's brim, arms crossed over her chest and raised her brows.

"This is where I belong-"

Shaking her head rapidly at Nami's protest she uncrossed her arms, and gave the navigator a pointed expression, "I don't believe that, Mia." She used a nickname hoping Nami would realise how sincere they were being here, "This can't be you."

"No. This isn't the me you want me to be." Nami lowly gritted out through her teeth, fingernails digging into her palm to keep her facade up in front of the girl, as the bracelet once more felt heavier.

(Y/N)'s face softened taking a small step forward to her friend, and went to lift up her fingers to her arm, "Nami..." Her accent came out thicker in a whisper almost making the other break, "if you need our help-"

"No, I don't need any of you." The said girl sneered her interruption giving each of the crew a harsh look, "Arlong wanted the map, and I conned you into getting it for me. And you bought it." She now directed this to the girl who was previously her captain with Luffy, "I was never part of your stupid crew."

Scrunching her face up painfully her (E/C) eyes become a bit blurry, and shakes her head slowly in denial, "You don't mean that." She whispered tearily, glancing down at Nami's wrist wearing the bracelet, "You can't, not when you have that on you."

Nami spotted what the girl was talking about, a bitter chuckle escaping her throat as she held up her wrist, "This is just soon to be trash for Arlong," She spat with venom, bringing her hand back down to swallow the lump in her throat seeing (Y/N)'s hurt expression, "Take the rest of these clowns and sail away from here. I never want to see you again."

Giving one last glance at all of them she landed on the Moneky D. girl last, a barely notiable tear falling free from her eye as she turned away, and walked off not looking back feeling her heart aching after what she just said.

(Y/N) remained quiet pulling down the rim of her hat over her eyes, wiping away the emotion off them as she sniffled to herself still not believing a word Nami told her. Luffy trailed up to his sister with a sad look, placing an arm around her shoulders to bring her into a comforting side hug, and sighed heavily feeling guilty.

Zoro and Sanji also frowned sadly wanting to hold and comfort their captain also, but knew if would be better if her brother did that for this once, as he seemed more fitter for the role since it was the captains responsibility. And the duo both secretly knew they'd fight if one got to comfort her, and the other didn't.

Usopp chuckled now breaking the silence between the crew, scratching his earlobe in disbelief, "Okay, that went about as bad as it could." He remarked grimacing, gaining looks from the others males to shut up, "So back to the boat before the fishmen find us? Sail the hell out of here?"

"There's something else going on here." Sanji commented after the snipper's words shaking his head, eyes narrowed down on the environment around the group.

"She was very clear she wants us to leave." Zoro stated in his raspy voice, dark eyes still on his captain worriedly as he saw her tears from what Nami said, and it had him cursing the navigator out for hurting her.

The blonde's eye twitched turning his body to face the male across from him, "You don't know women. They never say what they mean." He claimed scowling at him, and tucked his hands into his pants pockets.

"Tell me again why the cook gets a say." Zoro matched the blondes attitude, tilting his chin up at the slightly taller male as Sanji glared and went to walk up to him, but luckily Usopp stopped them with his voice.

"Don't you guys get it? She's one of them." He spoke firmly using his hands for emphasise, looking between all his friends before landing on the sibling captains up front, "She's a bad guy. The villagers are terrified of her."

(Y/N)'s head lifted up from her brothers shoulder now remembering the blue haired woman from earlier, and shared a knowing look with Luffy, "Not all of them." She reminded, before a wide smile appeared over her face and waved out to the sheriff, "Hey! Old man!"

She and Luffy made their way over to where Genzo disappeared into, making the other three quickly follow behind them, and the sheriff comes out of his house hearing the pirates coming his way.

"Who was that pretty lady?" She questioned once the group arrived where he was, and she fiddled with her bracelets a bit nervously smiling kindly, "Y'know the one with the cool hair?"

Genzo scanned the girl and the other males all gathered around her like hawks, a suspicious expression plastered on his scar face, "Who wants to know?"

"Uh well, I'm Monkey. D (Y/N)." She spluttered out her introduction shuffling in her spot, really regretting now doing all the talking as she hated meeting new people sometimes, "I'm a p-pirate-"

"Hunter." Zoro's monotone voice interrupted her smoothly catching the crew by surprise, his hands in his pockets as he approached his captain, and stood pressed up beside her, "Pirate hunter. We're here to collect Arlong's bounty."

"You?" Genzo repeated incredulously staring at the pirates in front of him invivally with judgement, "I've seen men twice as your size and with twice your number go into Arlong Park. None of them ever came back."

Good thing I'm a girl than, she thought to herself with mischievously smirking a bit, before shaking her head to focus on the task at hand, "We just want to talk to her." She chirped smiling friendly at the older male.

"Trust me kid, you don't." He protested firmly looking at the bubble girl, "But if it'll get you and your friends out of my town," He points out to his side down to where the forest was, "try the house down the road, on the edge of the tangerine grove."

The siblings both flashed him toothy, grateful smiles in sync before grabbing each other's arm to speed off down the way he pointed, leaving the other three to sigh knowingly at their behaviour following them.
